Does anyone have one and how have you found them.

Are they comfortable or not worth buying?

Are they easy to put on by yourself with the child in it or do you need someone else to help?

Thanks
Janet.

Hi, I had one, a Snugli one. It was pretty good, did the job.
But then I bought an Ergo backpack and it was 100 times better! Really recommend the Ergo style

I was trying out baby carriers yesterday, tried a macpac and a few other brands but found them very big complicated and heavy and I needed help putting them on. I ended up buying an Ergo which is much ligher and less complicated and about a quater of the price. If you were doing a 6 hour hike a mapac or similar might be better, but for most situations I would recommend the Ergo

I have an ergo, I havn't taken cobes hiking in it, but that's the plan! (well, off-the-beaten-track, of course)

The ergo is VERY comfortable and very easy to wear for along period. Although there isn't a sun protector like most baby-hiking-back packs

I bought a 2nd hand carrier (Ebay) and it is brilliant. It's called (I think) Ezy cruiser. Lightweight aluminum frame style.
Oh, and it only cost me $20!

I had a Kelty kids back carrier and it was good. It had a sun/insect protector which was great especially for walking along the beach when the hat won't stay on or walking in rainforests and would stop leaches and ticks dropping in.

To put it on, I could do it myself by putting it on the bed or a table. You soon get the knack for it. I found it comfortable but bulky.

ive got a koala macpac.

it was $200 (which i dont believe is 4 times the amount of a ergo.

Excellent and light and the toadlet absolutely loves it.
it has a rain hood, also a neck brace for if they want to go sleepies.

Heaps of storage and they have a fantastic view of the world.

We have an Ergo for short distances but my husband prefers the Macpac Vamoose for long distances, better support with a heavy toddler. We have used the Macpac since age 6 months and my little boy loves it. He recently did a 16km day walk with us in it. He loves sitting up high, I like that it provides sun protection and support for sleeping.
