I think it really depends on your bubs stage of development. I started my 6mth. old dd on a few teaspoons of farex in the morning after her breastfeed. I gradually increased how much I gave her until she was having about half a cup. Then started to introduce another soilds meal, again just a few teaspoons.

let me do my maths first... :p
ok so ur bub is almost 6 months??
i gave coby rice cereal in the afternoon first and then after a few days when i knew he was ok with it (not allergic etc) i gave him cereal in the morning and mashed vegies for dinner...

hope that helps you... someone else might have better advice tho :)

When I started Lucas on solids he had farex at night for dinner. It helped hm sleep better. but then i was told that it doesnt matter whether you give the baby rice cereal for their first food so then we just had fruits or vegies. hope this helps.

I've heard that too much rice cereal is not a good thing, as it can 'clog' them up!?

I usually give bub some pears or apples with or after the rice cereal... just in case!

i got told that you give them cereal for a few weeks as one meal but still give them there daily intake of milk. Then introduce another kind of soild ie vegies, then take away one milk so that there will be 3-4 milks a day and 2 soild meals a day then slowing introduce a fruit with the cereal by the time there after 6 months old you can start to give me 3 meals a day.
