Hi everyone!

We are newly arrived in Brisbane, I have a 15 month old daughter and am keen to meet other Mums in the area. I have tried phoning the playgroup association but haven't had much luck with the contacts they have given me.

I was wondering if anyone knew of any good playgroups that caters for young toddlers.

Or whether knew of any good for meeting other people music or gym classes or similar? I have looked into Jungle Music and Gymboree but at close to $15 a session I cannot really justify it as we already do swimming lessons every week.

Or are there any Mums wanting to meet for coffee or anything? I live close to Garden City.

Any advice welcomed!
Jo

Hi Jo,

The YMCA at Acacia Ridge is excellent - it might be a bit of a drive for you (prob about 15mins) but it is definately worth it - it has baby and toddler gym for around $7 or Playschool which is an instructor lead playgroup that goes for a couple of hours and only cost around $7 too.

I have been taking my 3yr old there since he was about 4months old and have just started taking bub no 2. I wouldn't even consider going anywhere else - lovely staff and the best value for money.

If you want anymore info, just send me a message or give them a call and speak to Helen.

Kat - I'll definitely give the YMCA a go, I'll give them a call tomorrow. :)

Mel - I could definitely be interested. What are the ages of the children?

Although I would still love to hear about anything a bit closer to home...
