Hi, just wanting to get some opinions. My six week old daughter is having S26 Gold formula, and has been since she was 4 days old. She seems to vomit often, and quite often it is projectile vomit. This is during or straight after feeds, and in her bassinette, everywhere. She is also a wriggler and seems to squirm a lot, and I just get the feeling she has a bit of a sensitive tummy. I am wondering if it has to do with the formula she is on. Should I try changing formula? When she was around 2 weeks old I changed to NAN HA, but she got diarrohea and as soon as I changed back to S26 Gold the diarrohea stopped, so I'm a bit weary of changing again. However, after reading some posts on bubhub I was thinking of changing to
maybe Karicare AR, or just the normal Karicare. Also, she is still wanting to feed every 3 to 4 hours, regardless of day or night, despite having 180 mls at each feed, so I wonder if the S26 Gold just isn't satisfying her, which is another reason I think trying a thicker formula may be an idea? Finally, she is only doing one poo a day, I don't know if this is normal? Would appreciate anyone's advice! Thanks
It might be a good idea to try your bubs on the Karicare AR. I think that S26 also has an AR type of formula too. You could give your health nurse a call & see what she thinks. In some pharmacies & super markets they sell single sachets of Karicare AR - Maybe you should buy a few sachets & give it a try before buying a tin. The sachets are cheap about $1 each & they make one 200ml bottle. I think that its worth trying as it might stop the reflux a little & fill bubs up a bit more.
I think that 1 poo per day is pretty normal. My bubs does 1 per day & sometimes 1 every second day.
Hope this helps.
if the vomiting is projectil i would talk to the dr about it as that can be sign of more than a formular issue, more than likely not but good to get it checked out

My twins were the same, projectile too.
We took them to the doctors and she told me to take them to the children's hospital, when we were seen the doc there told me to try a thickened formula first and see how that goes and then if it wasn't working they would take some xrays of their tummies. They recommended Novolac AR which i tried and tbh my boys haven't look back since:thumbsup:
I would just get it checked out just for peace of mind but the change of formula is a good idea imho.
My DS did the same thing when he was having S26 Gold. We put him onto S26 AR and had no problems after that. We put DD onto S26 when she started having formula (both were about 1wk old) and she had no probs.
After talking to a few people I found that quite a few bubbas have probs with the Gold type formulas, (all brands, not just the S26), I do sometimes wonder if DS would have been ok with just the normal S26 formula.
If you are going to change formulas them maybe stick with the same brand, just so it's not such a big change for bub to get used to. Then if you are still having probs try a different brand later.
Oh, and one poo per day is perfectly normal too :) Some bubs go every 2nd or even 3rd day and that's normal too. I'd only worry if it seems to be bothering bub.
