Hi everyone!

Im a stay at home 'mum' with a difference.

I look after my partners 2 year old boy (obviously from previous relationship). I call myself a parent rather than a Mum as . . .well he already has a mum! We have a shared-care with his mother, one week with us, one week with his mum.

We havent any 'other' children (still trying) so I am thinking maybe we join a playgroup. Mainly so I can meet new people and also, when he is with his mother he is in daycare for 9 hours a day and I think he might enjoy kids to play with when he is with us?

Is it a thing to do, for 'step mum' to take their little ones to a playgroup?

Anyone else in this parenting situation??

My male cousin has full custody of his son and lives with his parents. The mother was married to him and decided she was too young to be tied down. Anyway, the grandparents look after him during the day and his Nanna has been taking him to playgroup since he was very young.

I think its a good idea for you to join a playgroup for you and for the child.

You sound like you're doing a great job being a parent.

We have my stepson almost fulltime, and we have 3 other children and trying for a 5th :)

Yes, most definitely and congrats on being such a good and caring parent. I'm sure he'll love this time with you.
