Hi there,
Just looking for some advice. Every morning when I wake every muscle in my body just feels like crap. I can hardly get up and walk around. It is mainly in my back, belly and neck. Anyone else get a similar thing?
I don't really know what I can do about it. I just miss waking up feeling like I've slept. Could it be from lifting DS all day the previous day? Maybe I just need more pillows.....
Sorry forgot I don't have my sig anymore.....I've 27 weeks preg.
Anyway, enough whinging from me.
Thanks.:)

Hi HL,

You poor thing. I was also really uncomfortable by 27 weeks with terrible back pain and 'under belly' pain. I got one of those long body pillow and used that at night sleeping on my side, with another bed pillow propped under my belly for good measure - it's the only way I could sleep.

From 36 weeks, I had to sleep upright on the couch due to heartburn and a posterior bub who I ws trying to turn around....

Ahh.....the joys of the final weeks..... I hope you get some relief soon.:)

Hi HL, yeah I am getting the same thing. I wake up in the same position I fell asleep in, and my whole leg on that side is numb:eek: !! I get some relief if I put a pillow between my knee's to sleep. But still my back aches, my neck is sore, I feel like I haven't actually slept. Bl**dy mother nature - it makes you forget the pain of pregnancy and labour just so you'll do it all over again:p Actually I asked DH to give me a massage the other night (OK truthfully - I FORCED DH to give me a massage.... no sex without a massage first  ) and that actually helped quite a lot. He massaged my shoulders, neck, back and legs.
But sorry I can't give you anymore advice - I'll be watching this thread to see what wisdom other ladies have though!

Hi Happy Lady,
Maybe it is from the fact that your lifting your little son about in and out of his cot and not realising how your doing it and whether your lifting ergonomically.
More pillows wouldnt hurt either.
Secretly I loved it when DH was out of bed as I could have all the pillows to myself!
Hope things improve for you,
Lx

Am 31 weeks pregnant, and feel exactly the same - no amount of sleep seems to be enough! I can't remember this from last time... I have a body pillow (was helping up until now). Am not getting indigestion this time - leg cramps instead!

Bad sleep - Mother natures way of making sure you want it out! :D

HL - no more advice to offer as the others have covered a lot - but I can offer a body pillow if you want one (could bring it on Thursday night), and can recommend a great masseuse close to me.

Hope you feel better:)

If you can hold of one (they're quite rare) buy yourself a body pillow. They're fantastic! You snuggle up against it with one leg on it, and it takes so much pressure off your belly, back...everywhere. Word of warning...once you have one, it's hard to sleep without one again. I'm still using mine!
Ebay had them a while ago and I think Harvey Norman can order them in. They're fantastic.
Here's the link to one I've just found on ebay...

Sorry - just realised someone has already suggested the body pillow...oops!

Thanks everyone for your suggestions!
Thanks for the link Carly....now I will spend my night dreaming about that pillow. Will have to get one. Thanks for the offer Theresa, but I might get my own and keep it for after baby. Looks like my sleepy time dream come true. ;)

HL - I bought mine from pillowtalk - and they have covers for them too.

Editted - Just looked at that link - that is a good price for the package - the one I bought was about $20 for the pillow and another $20 for the case - on special.

And the great thing about the pillow is that it doesn't whinge when you have your elbow stuck in it, or that your leg is too heavy, or that it's too hot, or that it's getting a cramp, or that it's uncomfortable...and it NEVER asks you to get up and get it a drink of water!!!!:p

I'm thinking of kicking DH out at the moment. I am so comfortable in there when he's not there.:o
Don't know how he'd feel about it though.

Hi HL / E,

Had lots of back pain too – pretty nasty hey? I tell you what, those pillows sound lovely – I’m not even preggers but might still try and get my hands on one.

You know you could always draw a little face on yours and then maybe you won’t feel so guilty kicking DH out. Tell him that even though you’re now sleeping with your new pillow, you’ll be thinking about him.

It’s possible that your back pain might be caused by mis-alignment of your spine? When you’re all out of alignment, certain muscles have to work much harder to support your spine, and they become tight and painful. Plus there’s the issue of relaxin which softens all your ligaments causing your joints to move more often and causing pain in your body where maybe you have some slight imbalances.

It might be worth seeing a Chiropractor – I was a bit wary about Chiros when it was first suggested to me (when pregnant with Charlotte) but I am hooked now. Made such a difference in a relatively short period of time. I see a lovely chiro in the city called Andrew Vincent – he is so gentle and has looked after lots of pregnant women. There are loads of them though, so there'll be one down your way - just ask for someone who has experience with pregnant ladies.

And as a bonus, published studies have indicated that chiropractic care during pregnancy does in fact reduce labor time! Now that would be nice!

Cheers
Tracie

PS - How's the homework going? LOL! Did you work out your "Lurve Language?"

Thanks Tracie, might just do that.
Will call you today, promise!:o

No suggestions from me but i am in exactly the same situation. I'm 30 weeks and I fear my days of a good nights sleep are already over!

I go to bed exhausted - only to lie there wide awake for hours on end while baby uses my womb as a jumping castle and my spine as a spring board!! As lovley as it is feeling its feet and fists against my skin it makes sleeping inpossible. I also find I can't turn my mind off, from what perfect middle name goes with our current name choices, to what outfit I'll put baby in to leave the hospital, to what colour it's eyes will be, I can't make it stop! I've found the only solution now is to turn the light on and read (lucky nothing wakes DH) to at least distract my brain enough to make me sleepy.

So, I have all the pillows to relax my body, any suggestions for relaxing the mind?!!
