Has anyone ever cosidered selling there stash & converting to sposies?:o
Lately my house work has been waay too much for me, the washing is piled up on the lounge all the time & Im sick of having to rumage around for looking for the correct snap in to go with this or a cover that fits nicely over that.
I bought a big pack of sposies the other day & used them all day yesterday at the Ekka & have had Az in them all today too:o it just is so much quicker.

Has anyone ever felt like this, sold there stash then regretted it a few weeks later?
The money is temeting too I have a pretty nice stash:rolleyes:

Yep, I did & boy do I regret it now :o

Yes sposies are easier but when you have to buy them all the time, it gets really annoying. I'm now re-buying cloth for the next bub

Yup  I feel like that from time to time...not that I have many nappies worth selling lol I mostly use flats.

When the washing is piled a mile high on the couch and I can't find the nappies I do just use sposies for a few days til I get caught up on things again. By that stage poor DD is starting to react to the sposies and I feel bad and use cloth again.
The other thing I used to do was to have a few washing baskets. One for my stuff, one for DH's and one for DSs...this was before DD was born obviously. I would take the baskets out to the line one at a time and bring in each persons washing. Then, if I had the urge to fold it I could start with DSs stuff and not have to pick thru all of our stuff to find it.

Oh no dont put doubts into my head!
I love my cloths but your right sometimes esp. when i open up the nappy to see a lovely no. 2 I wish I had a sposie on dd. But cloths r so nice and soft and good for the enviroment.

Youll get thru it! Maybe take a few days off cloth, get urself organised and start again. Also you might sell them for some $$ but you will spend it pretty quick on sposies anyway...

hope u can get on top of ur washing soon! i know what its like! :hugs:

I switch in between cloth and sposies all the time. My stash is not very big and I can only do cloth when I'm at home and dh isn't so normally 3-4 days a week.

Maybe just do a little stash cull? Get rid of the ones you aren't particulary fond of, then when you do use cloth it'll be all your favourites.

I always find a bit of swapping or selling and buying gets me more enthusiastic about cloth.

Nope I have never felt like this....Gosh it must be bad to consider going back to DISPOSIBLES  :barf:

:p

Even when I was changing 12 newborn nappies per day and using cloth from birth I have never considered using sposies. Just not for me.

Anyway...you know where to go if you wanna sell your stash ;)

I thought of it because sometimes it is far too much work. Buy my boy loves his cloth so much more than a disposable - he likes to pat the minkee.

aww cute:) Azalea likes her minkee ones too, when we get the mail if there is an envelope bigger than usual she assumes its a nappy & gets excited:o come to think about it she would be pretty upset if she didnt get to wear her ducky nappy any more:(

One thing I HATED about spozies (when I had to use them on holiday) is you can't hold your baby with one arm. With a nice big padded cloth bum their bottoms sit on your arm easily giving you the other arm free.

Can't beieve you had the guts to mention in the cloth thread you were thinking of selling!!

haha Im not scared of any of you "passionate" clothies:D

No...had to switch to sposies for a couple of weeks a few months back when DD had a yeast infection (couldn't use the creams with the cloth) and I hated it. Our house stunk like a dirty nappy the whole time and I felt sooo ripped off every time we had to buy another packet of sposies.

If you have that much to do use sposies while you catch up on everything but I wouldn't sell them all cause I think you'll be back to loving cloth in no time!

Yes I'd pack away all the cloth nappies for a few weeks BEFORE selling them. Give yourself a trial period with the sposies- you may well change your mind.

No I have never considered it.

I find cloth really easy. What type of nappies have you been using?? Maybe if its all too hard then try swapping some of your stash for AIOs cos then you don't have to do anything, and don't need to find covers....or stuff inserts.....they are as easy as sposies. You just need to chuck them in the bucket and into the washing machine.

Do you even find the AIOs a pain to use? How long were you using cloth for before you started feeling like this?

hmmmm you have some nice nappies there! hehe. Let us know if you decide to sell

I have been thinking of it lately, house work is piling up and have been really busy for the last few weeks and havn't had time to do things.

But then i think i will probably regret it,so for now i will just keep it and go back to them when im not so busy.We are still using them, but not for night time, and sometimes when im in a rush we just chuck a sposie on.

Sorry to hear you've been feeling overwhelmed by it all :(

Can't say i've ever felt the same though!

Maybe it's because currently I only have one child, but I never find things getting on top of me like that and I am the laziest person I know LoL

I always make sure there are clean, dry nappies even if it means putting off doing the dishes LoL

The aio's arn't so much a pain to use as a pain to find when I need one lately Iv been having to dig through a mountain of washing every time I need a nappy:o
& because there is just the 2 of us here & I have a 9 kg washing machine it takes ages before I need to do a load so the easy nappies always get used first.

Nope.

I used sposies for too long, and wasted too much money on them to ever want to go back.

I do admit to having a box of Home Brand sposies for night-time and emergency MIL visits

(no matter how many times I tell her to use the cloth, she ALWAYS uses the sposies,... and it annoys me to tears coz we only use them at night, so a box is supposed to last a month with both boys.... and then everytime she comes up, I have to buy another box!! :banghead: )

But we're very methodical... I never have a build up of wash, we wash everyday, I wash nappies every night and hang them at night, and then I fold/stuff them as I take them off the line and put them straight into the nappy stacker.

So it's not an issue for us. I'd rather do small loads of wash everyday, than a HUGE load every few days.. But that's us. *shrugs*

I have lapses too, where I just reach for a sposie (in my emergancy cupboard, and also for when my mum babysits, she hates cloth!) because it seems easier... But I can honestly say that I just like cloth better! Mitch's pants don't fall down, his bum is cute, I can open my bin in the kitchen and not get blown away by the smell, and I have the satisfaction of knowing that I'm doing my bit for the environment.

I had quite a big variety of nappies, because I was a newbie, and didn't know what would suit us... I've since sold off the ones that I don't like as much and just stuck with 2 brands. I find this easier, because you don't have to spend a whole lot of time folding washing, looking for the different inserts etc.

I'd take the advice others have said, and just pop them away for a while, in case you sell them off and then regret it!

I do understand how you feel though :hugs: .

There's only one time I can think of where I felt like I was going to cave in. I was living in Melbourne and the weather was shocking. Absolutely bucketing down for a few days. It really started to take it's toll on me but thoughts and actions are two totally different things. I would NEVER give up my.. *cough* Dakotas beloved cloth nappy stash for no-one.

What I do is put a load on at the end of the day (nappies and clothes) and hang them out over night.. by mid afternoon the next day they are dry or slightly damp. If they are damp them throw them in the dryer for 10 minutes to finish them off. Then as soon as you have a spare 5 minutes fold the clothes and make up the nappies at the same time. I don't need to do a load every day, I could go for almost a week if I really wanted to, but it's just so much easier washing the nappies with our clothes. There's no difference really.

Try and resist packing it in. Dedicate a day or two to try and get on top of all your laundry. You'll feel better doing it

The pul must be dodgy because its meant to be an aio:gloomy:

Just change if you are not happy, it isn't really a big deal, they are both nappies, I think it is more important that if sposies make you a little less stressed and a little more organised, then  I didn't even last the 4 days in hospital with cloth, so I think you have done well lasting as long as you have

I would just use a mix, sell half you cloth and use sposies when you are feeling lazy or behind. I don't think it should be all one way or the other. I use sposies when I am behind in the washing, sick of yucky night time nappy smells or bubs has a rash. I use disposables as a convience, what they were designed for!

I love cloth, but I will never be an all or nothing girl on this topic!!

ive only just converted to cloth and i must admit i do like them but still have nothing against disposable at all. i do think the cloth are more absorbent but yes more work i totaly agree

Maybee try just buying some disposables for a few weeks with out selling your cloth nappies if funds permit it and just pop the cloth in the cupboard and see if you do prefer disposble then after a few weeks if you decide to make the switch for good then you can sell them all, rather then selling and changeing you mind

I think if you sell your whole stash you might regret it down the track. Just get rid of the ones you dont really like or whatever and keep a few of the ones you do like. Use sposies when you are behind in the washing or us them at night or something. It doesnt necessarily have to be all or nothing.

I am a recent convert and i like cloth but still have a bag of sposies for night or if i get behind. Dont see anything wrong with doing half half.

Just do what you feel happy with and what you think is right.

This is why my regular washing is piled up on the spare couch, and my nappies get washed seperately

I have enough with 2 in cloth to do a full load every 2 days, and I only need to fold every 3 days, so it doesn't feel like work :D

I feel that way sometimes. I look at my washing pile piling up while my beautiful nappies are drying on the line. Then it comes to folding them and putting them away, that's a chore in itself sometimes. :rain:
