View Full Version : Best Newborn Cloths and Wraps Please?!
Hi Everyone  ,
I already use Totsbots Bamboo MCNs and Motherease Airflow wraps with my toddler. I'm due in Feb with the next one and want some ideas please for your best newborn nappy combos.
My MCNs are too big for a newborn but I'm planning to use them after a few months, so I don't want to fork out too much money on the newbie.
Can you please tell me your most effective nappies (flats, prefolds, whatever and brands) and best wraps for littlies too.
Thanks a lot girlies, there's a bit too much choice for me to make this decision alone!!
Cheers, Kylie

I think nothing beats flat nappies for tiny newborns :)
A very kind friend lent me a stack of Motherease wraps which were great until my boy's legs got too fat, and I also used covers I'd made myself. I have a few wool soakers, but he would always poo on them and that was a pain.
HTH :)
Umm, what are wool soakers? :o
Wool soakers are knitted pants that are used as nappy covers. This is my bub in his soaker:

They are really water proof and are good for night use. THey are cute too!!!

I use BBBs for my DS and DD, they are great because they are one-size. I'm also loving mandy macs at the moment too, especially with DS, they are ones size too and cheaper.

My favourite newborn nappy was the 'Swaddlebees organic velour newborn nappy'. It feels sooooooooo devine and has a part that snaps down at the front in the middle to avoid it rubbing on the umbilical stump.
For a cover my favourite was the Eenee snibbs - they don't have any velcro or snaps or anything you just tie it up over the nappy - super easy:thumbsup:
Great. Thanks for that ladies.
I'm still a bit undecided. Might just start off with some flats and see how we go!

Flats sound like a great idea! Didn't use them with #2, but my first baby was in flats as a newborn and I loved how they fit and dried so fast. I didn't know about dry-pailing, breathable pul covers etc back then though, unfortunately.
It's not like they need to be super-absorbent, not when they are so young and need changing so often
