We have just turned DS's car seat to forward facing.
The poor things little legs were all scrunched up and he was kicking the back seat.

Anyway, now we have an issue with the sun in his eyes. I've put up shades on the side windows but it still doesn't stop the sun from the front.

When we bought our car seat (safe n sound premier) it didn't come with a hood and it never occured to us at the time that we may have needed one.

I have checked with most baby stores in my area and unfortunately you can't buy the hoods seperate.

SO......what else can I use ? What do you use ?

OR.....does anyone have a spare hood floating around from their car seat that they are no longer using and may possibly want to sell it to me ?

My kids just wear hats in the car, and sunglasses too most of the time. DD does take her's off at times, but she can put the hat back on herself and she is getting the hang of putting her sunglasses on too. It was easier when she could wear her Babybanz, but her head is too fat for them now so she has proper sunglasses.

I wouldn't bother searching for a hood, just get bub used to wearing a hat whenever you leave the house :)

Try contacting Safe and Sound on 1300 303 330 and they may be able to help you with the hood problem and let you know where you can get one.

You can buy special hood things from a company, I think it is the same company that makes the pram sun shades. Could be "Shade a Bub"??? I will have a lok and try and find who the company is. As for the ones that come with the car seats they are useless,(well the safe n sound ones are, not sure about the other brands) only ok for keeping the sun off the top of bubs head.
