View Full Version : Addiction to baby wearing...
I have a problem - I am addicted to baby wearing!!!
When I go out in public I 9/10 times have to have one of the kids in the sling. The 1/10 times I don't have one of the kids in the sling I feel vunrable and kinda naked if that makes sense.
It's stupid, I have a double pram and never use it:banghead:
Am I the only person or do others feel the same??? Do you eventually grow out of this???

No, you aren't alone missy!
While I don't have either of the boys in a sling, I do know what you are talking about. I feel so much more confident when I have them in the pram in front of me, kind of like a "podium" for a public speaker. And I have noticed that when I feel particularly uncomfortable in a social situation, I'll pick one of them up and hold them in front of me. They are my security blankie :D.
Funny, hey. I was just thinking of this the other day when I was going to have a bit of me time and go shopping by myself. I walked around in a bit of a daze, and didn't enjoy myself at all... so I went back and got the kids into the pram and had a great time!

Oh thankyou - it's good to hear I am not alone.
It feels like you are missing something when you don't have them dosn't it.:o

Just think of the benefits, you don't have to change that t-shirt with stains on it!!:D

I must admit they act as a good shield when you have leaky boobs:p

I know how you feel, I wear DS3 in a sling all the time... I feel naked without it too! I worst is when I go shopping on my own with no kids at all...
I think I may be addicted to baby wearing, I just got my 4th sling today  , its to use with the baby, due to arrive in 6 weeks, but I am already testing it out with my 2yo :o
I do use my pram and my DD will walk short distances, but I still love baby wearing, despite being 33 weeks pregnant and having a 2yo!!

*Nods in agreeance* I never get time to myself, so for me to be out and not have a babe in a sling would be like me going out and forgettting to put clothing on  My only dilemma is which carrier to use!
