Am trying to organise a naming day for my DD am finding it v. hard to get hold of any books written on the subject with sample ceremonies etc in them. We are not having a celebrant but instead a good friend will conduct the ceremony so am starting from scratch. If anyone knows where I can buy books especially trying to get hold of a book called: Welcoming Ways: Creating Your Baby's Welcome Ceremony with the Wisdom of World Traditions. I'd really appreciate it. i know I can get it from the US but our ceremony is in 3 weeks!! Would also welcome any suggestions for the service of any kind. This is my first posting hope I've done evrything right;) ;)

I have some electronic poems and a sample ceremony if you would like.
Let me know and I will forward them to you. What theme or message would you like for your naming ceremony. I know a Family Celebrant that I can get some more information from if you like or if you like you can email her and tell her I gave you the address stephanie@familycelebrants.com.au, she is very helpful and wont mind.

I found a book on the net called "Naming Ceremonies... Using these guidelines, a ceremony may be composed which is unique for every naming, and refelcts the views and beliefs of the parents".
It was from a group called Rites of Passage in South Australia. The email contact is: dorothy@winsomebooks.com.au - it is an A4 bound document which has heaps of sample ceremonies in it. My copy arrived very quickly and I have found it quite useful in the process of putting together Riley's ceremony. Hope that helps.
