Has anyone used the automatic baby swings or vibrating bouncers/ rockers?
Our previous baby had reflux and was a terrible sleeper (even after propping). I am currently pregnant and was wanting to get one of the automatic seats that might help. I can't decide between the vibrating ones and swinging ones.
i looked everywhere when i was pregnant for a fisher-price aquarium cradle swing . they r fantastic! my 8 week old loves it. i had one for my son as well when he was born but they were hard to find the right one.
i found one for $315 at toy world, but ended up getting the same one on ebay for $180 practicly brand new.
i reccomend these swings i call it my "babysitter" :D
my friend has a vibrating rocker and she said its also really good.
good luck
I would fully recommend a fisher price aquarium swing! I just got one and bub loves it! Its great... She will sit in it and fall asleep and it lets me be able to do other things! :)

My DS loved his vibrating boucer so much I thought he was addicted to it! Turns out he had reflux and liked to be upright. He does not have reflux now and still loves the vibrator, it is really soothing for him. I have a Bertini one, they are great.

I have a swing, not sure of the brand, but DS loves it... It also doubles as a high chair... It was a great investment..

I bought a swing when Bec was only a couple of weeks (upon recommendation from a friend) - except I got one that doesn't play any music - just swings and swings - anyway Bec hated it and would scream and scream until I took her out. I then couldn't be bothered putting her in it again for the same reaction - well only about 2wks ago I put her in it again just one more time as we were going to sell it and thought might try our luck and bingo she now loves the thing!!!! So it is coming with us to ACT move now!! She plays, sleeps, talks or just watches the world go by. Can't live without the swing now!!

Thanks all. Sounds like the swing is the way to go. I will keep an eye out for the portable sort I think, then it come everywhere.
:)
Baby Hammocks are brilliant too and more ergonomic than the swings! Hammocks make the baby feel like they are still in the womb and are very gentle. Excellent!

I had a vibrating rocker for my son and everytimes i used to put him in it he would cry:( I was a little dissapointed as i thought i would of helped sooth him, as he`s only been in it 4 times and for no longer then 5 minutes each time.
I have a vibrating rocker and bubs absolutley loves it. She often falls asleep in it. :)
We have a fisher-price swing, like the aquarium one, but the older model with the ducks. It can swing side to side like a hammock and forwards and back like a... well... a swing. WE LOVE IT!!! We have only used the side to side mode. We are going to be really sad when DS is too big for it. DS won't sleep in his cot during the day so we let him sleep in the swing. At first he would only sleep for 20 or 30 minutes at a time, but as he got older he would sleep from an hour and a half up to 3 hours in it.
