Liam will be 26 months when v2 is born. I usually wear him in an ergo when out. Is it possible to wear 2 ergos at once, one on the front and one on the back?

Also, how old were your kids when they no longer needed constant access to a pram? I'm trying to decide whether or not it is worth investing in a tandem pram.

Thanks :)

DD is almost 3 and i prefer her in a pram 99 % of the time. its easier, she cant wander off, i already have to deal with DS and she gets tired quickly walking...

Cheezie.. could you just keep with a solo pram and use one in the pram, one in the sling?

I was planning on doing that, but for the grandparents, they won't baby wear in their old age and need a pram to push.

My DS was out of a pram at 16 months, so it was an easy decision for me to only get a standard pram for DD. She has just turned 2 and just stopped consistently sitting in it when we are out. so i have a 4 and 2 year old both walking around the shops:hair:

with my first 2 i gave up on the pram before their 3rd birthday...
no.3 is not 2 yet and i guess iŽll keep my pram a while longer...

invest in a tandem pram, it will be worth it. even you buy just a 2.nd hand one- idŽbuy one for sure

well you wont be able to use 2 ergos, cos of the thick straps, but you can do a MT and an ergo! or, 2 MTs...

Can't help with the ergo question, but DD is nearly three and I'm still using the tandem pram.

Sometimes I let her walk and put DS in the hugabub or the solo pram - but only if we're going somewhere relatively uncrowded so if she takes off it's not as much of a drama.

If we're going to a crowded shopping centre or something, definitely still need the double pram.

When you're thinking in terms of the age your oldest doesn't need to be in a pram, you've got to remind yourself that it won't be the same as it is now - he'll be roaming free AND you'll have another baby to contend with....and you've only got two arms ;) I say keep them in the pram as long as you can get away with it LOL.

I HAVE heard of someone using 2 Ergos at once, one on the back and one on the front... god knows how they managed. DD is 15.5kg and I would probably pass out if I had to wear 2 of her! lol.

They even mention it on the Ergo website: http://www.ergobabycarrier.com/faq.html#4

It's about twins, but I assume so long as you can handle the weight, you should be able to do it...

CK, I picked up a tandem pram from an op shop for $8. It was an older one but it served it's purpose perfectly. I still did single pram/baby carrier at times and sometimes just carrier/toddler walking but it was really worth having a tandem pram, especially for a day out at somewhere like the zoo when a toddler can get really tired.
