I think it depends on what age the flowergirls are for what type of neckline...

As far as colours go, you dont have to have the same as the bridesmaids just as long as they will all match nicely for the photos..

I think when it comes to flowergirl dresses, it's up to you. If it were me, I'd either do the same colour as bridesmaids or as my dress... because I think it would be odd to have me in ivory and flowergirl in white...lol... but otherwise... it's up to you.

I'm sure a halterneck would be fine, regardless of whether or not your bridesmaids have it. I don't think flowergirls are supposed to look like mini-bridesmaids, so it wouldn't matter.

DD is 2, but when was 1 she had a halterneck dress. It was really really cute. Wasn't a flowergirl dress, but it suited her body all the time.

I think it probably depends on the overall design on the dress though... DD's halterneck dress had a full skirt, so it looked girly... if it was a straight dress I think it would look a little too grown up...

I completely agree that it's completely up to you. If you are sticking with white for the wedding dress then definately stick with white for the flowergirls.

I'm wearing a white dress and my little flower girls are wearing white dresses with my bridesmaids wearing black.

At the end of the day it is completely up to you and you can always accessorise with flowers, diamonties etc.

I'm wearing white. The hubby is wearing a white tie and the best man and bridesman are wearing red ties.
The flower girls are in baby pink, and the pageboy will wear a baby pink tie. The flower girl with have baby pink roses.

I think pink was much nicer for little girls. ad thats what my daughter picked out.

I wore a lilac dress and so did my 3 flower girls. My bridesmaid wore a dark purple. I have a real thing about little girls looking like little girls and not minature adults so the dresses were very plain. Its a personal thing but I dont think it matters if their dress is different style to bridesmaid in fact I would expect it. Have a great day I am sure it will all look beautiful no matter what you choose.

thanks everyon. love the colour, india. very nice.

what about ivory for the flower girl and baby pink for the bridesmaids?

or should the flower girl be white if the bride is white?

i have to come up with something, the dressmaker is taking colours and sizes next week!!!

I'd say keep the flowergirl white if yours is white as throwing ivory in can look quite odd.Good luck its all very exciting.

If the Bride is wearing white, then so should the flower girl. She should either match the bride or bridesmaids. Ivory looks dirty against white. Hope that makes sense.

My personal opinion on halter necks..... hmm I dont like them on little girls. But thats just me :)

Yeah i Think ivory looks dirty next to white as well.

I'm all fo the girls to look girly. Our wedding theme colour is red and I dont think thats a girly colour. White is not really wearable I don;t think.
We chose pink because thats what my daughter asked for. Its nice and girly. They can wear it again if needed even if it's just as a pretty pink fairy to a dress up party.

You said maybe pink for the bridesmaids. The go pink for the flower girl too I think.

my flowergirls (my daughters) dresses were pinky yellow silk dupion... the bridesmaids dress was hot pink shot with orange.. they looked lovely together but TOTALLY different styles... the bridesmaids dresses were originally strapless but the day of the wedding they put a halter neck strap on.. and my daughters dresses were little smocked dresses with matching boleros hehe

its up to you wat you do, they certainly dont have to matchimo! :D

My bridesmaids dresses are silver with a black sparkly layer over the top - with the middle section, missing the layer, with spaghetti straps. DD's flowergirl dress is going to be the opposite. Her's is going to be all silver, with the black sparkly layer over the middle section, with thicker shoulder straps. my mum is making the dress from scratch - she's a dressmaker by trade.
