The Reserve Bank of Australia (RBA) has raised interest rates for the first time since November lifting its cash rate to 6.5 per cent from 6.25 per cent - the highest level in 10 years.
This will add around $50 per month to the average $250,000 home loan with standard variable mortgage rates set to rise to 8.3 per cent from 8.05 per cent.
