Im really interested in getting some eenee nappies but have a few questions for anyone who has them.
do i need to use the flushable pads in the cloth nappy or in the pouch pants?
for overnight do you put in more than one pad?
whats the difference btwn the stay dry nappy liners and the flushable pads?
how often do you need to wash the pouch pants?
if anyone has anything to add please do so.
I want as much info on these as possible PLEASE!
thanks in advance!
Pm Oscar'sMum as she uses Eenees, although with cloth instead of the disposable pads (although she would be able to help you with that as well, I'm sure).

Hi. I used eenees exclusively for about 5 months so I have plenty of advice for you :D
Do I need to use the flushable pads in the cloth nappy or in the pouch pants?
OK, the system goes like this. Pouch pant (which is in 2 parts - the outer fabric part and the snap in waterproof pouch) and cloth OR flushable weenees pad. You need a pouch pant and then you place one of the 2 previously mentioned options inside that pouch pant.
It is a tad confusing but once you see one you will work it out.
For overnight do you put in more than one pad?
OK, I strongly suggest you use a bamboo or hemp prefold in the pouch pants for overnight. I used the microfibre pre-folds but they dont hold enough liquid and often leaked at night. Some people use a weenees pad wrapped in a cloth pre-fold for nights, but personally I just went cloth.
Whats the difference between the stay dry nappy liners and the flushable pads?
OK the flushable pads (weenees) dont need a stay dry liner...they already have a stay dry effect because they are essentially disposibles. The stay dry liners are used with the cloth inserts because otherwise bub has wet cloth against their skin.
How often do you need to wash the pouch pants? Only when they are soiled. I found I was always rinsing out the snap in waterproof section with each change because a newborn does massive runny poos. However they dried really quickly and were ready for the next change, so it wasnt an issue. I had 3 pouch pants, then I had 2 extra snap in waterproof sections.
If anyone has anything to add please do so.
My suggestion if you are looking to go cloth or part cloth is to buy just 1 pouch pant and maybe an extra snap in watreproof section and a couple of bamboo or hemp pre-folds and try them out. I also suggest trying out some other types of cloth nappies. I really loved eenees but there are so many other options out there. So try these before you invest in a whole set.
I want as much info on these as possible PLEASE!
Please ask me any other questions regarding eenees or cloth nappies in general!

That's one of the best explanations I've seen Stellarella :) Not just the bit I've quoted.... the whole thing!

OMG thank you sooo much everyone so far, and stellarella! Y
You have just made up my mind for me!
With trying other cloth nappies, wat would you suggest as a starting point?
I am sooo sick of disposables!

Going from Eeenee's I would then probably move onto a pocket nappy (something like Greenkids). That way you can use the eenee inserts in the pocket (either the cloth or disposable inserts).
ETA: I couldn't add on anything to what Stellarella said - she covered it all. ;)

Have a look through the cloth threads, there are plenty of "newbies" asking about what are good brands and where to start. There are stickies that are also a good read, but another place to look would be OzCloth Nappies (http://www.ozclothnappies.org/info.html)
I love my Baby Beehinds (fitted nappies) and also have some Berry Plush (All In 2 - AI2) that are great and easy to use.
OM's suggestion of using pockets to start with is good. Some places do trial packages and I'd suggest trying a few different types before settling on 1 or a few particular brands/types.
