OK, here it is. Share the details of your horrible sleepless nights! Mine was pretty bad last night, he is spending tonight with Grandma and Grandpa. I felt bad asking them, but they really love having him and dont mind at all. SO, hopefully I will be able to get a decent sleep tonight as will DP. You gotta do what you gotta do he?

I feel like a zombie today! AF has reared her head again and last night Matilda woke what felt like every hour god damn hour. And she wont go back to sleep. She screams until I shove the boob in her mouth. But then I dont sleep cause I have sore nipples from her constant feeding!!

I just want a few hours. Seriouisly. I wouldnt care if she woke every 4hrs just a few hrs of sleep in a row you know!

:banghead:

Unfortunately I dont have anyone to take her. Mum cant get her back to sleep and she would just scream. Life of a single mum I guess!

I would love to give my kids to someone overnight but cant see it happening DD is usually a great sleeper but last night she woke around 12midnite and was in fine form, she didnt want to go to bed she didnt want to come to bed with me it was a nightmare so i layed in the spare room with the door shut and she jumped over me all night....she is so tired today though but shes not sleeping shes going to bed early and staying there!!

DS is usually so good if he wakes he will just hop in with us and go straight back down but dd is a terror

Nothing worse when your body is like so used to sleeping from midnite to 5am like clockwork and shes in fine form at that hour :(

Maybe i am just tired though as i am getting to the end of this pregnancy...heaven help when this baby comes lets hope it sleeps LOL

I'm checking in here even though my DS is on a good streak at the moment. :D

Because I can guarantee you that it won't last!! :hair:

Last night he slept from 6pm until 4.15am which is nothing short of a miracle for him.

This means that tonight he will be up and down like a yoyo for sure

So tomorrow I'll be able to share with you all in feeling like the living dead!

Hope tonight is better ladies.

 I'm joining in too....

My 6 month old use to wake once or twice a night. A good night lately is about 4 times. A bad night is every hour!

What happened??!!!

I use to be able to give him a bit of boob and pop him back in the cot, now he just wants to be in my arms...I tried co-sleeping and he still wakes up every hour.

I just bought a rocking/glider chair off ebay...I can't get it till the weekend :banghead: ...hopefully that will make the night times a bit more comfy for me.

Hmm...very grumpy, teething, tired babe in my arms atm.

What is sleep???

Haven't slept more than 3 hours per night in the last 2 1/2 weeks not due to 7 week old but due to mr 2 year old.

He is scared of wind and rain.

Have tried everything I know I am a mum of 6 so have tried all the tricks and then some.

Oh How I crave a nice soft bed and pillow.

Hoping you all get some sleep :smiliedance:

Cheers

Mum of 6 huh? Wow- so tell us! What are those tricks?? I want to know those tricks, they may work for DS:detective:

:hugs: For every tired mummy here. I have always tried to think of it as if our bodies were capable of producing children, then our bodies are capable of coping with the sleep dep.

Hi Chocolatemudcake,

Just the usual stuff, control crying, the taking back to his room. This can go on for hours.

You know "The Nanny" type stuff. None of it worked.

We have tried bribing. Lights on lights dim.

Even watch Stuart Little 2 4 times before bed , hoping to make him sleepy.

Bought a new cuddle toy.

But alias it didn't work so.

Just have to lump and leave it, The doctor has said he can give him medication to sleep, but I am not to fussed about that.

Maybe, that might have to be as no one is getting any sleep and neither is he. He is so over tierd.

I think I would rather start with Phernergen first and then if that doesn't work then I would try the stronger stuff the Doctor would give him.

Kids just love emValentine

But if anyone has another suggestion I would love to hear.:)

That person that coined the term "sleeping like a baby" obviously never encountered one.

Oh maybe we don't have babies ... maybe they are some breed of super aliens that are slowly priming us for brainwashing through sleep deprivation!

Great a topic I can relate to! My 4 month old has never had one good nights sleep from the day he was born. No amount of advice from the paediatrician, GP or baby whisperers etc can help. At the moment a great night is getting up 4 times, and a bad night....well lets not even go there.

well my DS (14 months) slept through twice in the first year, usually up about twice a night for at least an hour at a time, then he went though this 2 week stage of sleeping from 7pm to 6am and I couldn't believe it, I was human again! I thought my life was back to normal, but alas it stopped as quickly as it started. Now he usually gets up at least once in the night at about midnight for an hour and then he is up for the day around 4:30am, or 3:30 as it was this morning. I know there are others much worse of but it feels like hell at 4 in the monring when I know there is no more sleep for me and I am so exhausted from being pregant then I have to go to work :hair:
I really want him to start sleeping though by the time the new baby comes next year, not sure how I will cope otherwise???
