DH is currently in interview process up there and i am after some info on rental costs, lifestyle, food prices....you know the everyday living stuff :detective:

Anyone tell me anything?

I lived in Airlie for 8 years, and never really enjoyed it, but I wasn't into the drinking scene that was so big back then.

It's a fairly laid back lifestyle, great weather, casual and relaxed. Food prices are only slightly higher, I think, but it's been a while since I've been there (family still lives there.) The school is great, airconditioned and friendly. Rentals are pricey, but most rentals are furnished, not sure about unfurnished rentals. Childcare is virtually impossible to find, but they do have Macca's and KFC now.

My best friend lives in Airlie. I don't think it would really be a family kinda town. We went there before Jayden was born and it's just all partying and tourists.
