I am trying to think of some new things I can get my kids involved in but most things that I've looked into are for 5 year olds +.

So what are you're under 5's upto during the week?

Top ones in this house are

Finger painting
potato printing (u make stamps out of a cut up spud and they go for gold)
leggo / building blocks
Cooking - normally something easy like muffins/cookies/pizza
Hide n seek (they can look for each other or for items u've hidden)
reading stories / puppet shows
then lots of free play time - I've copied kindy and set up zones to encourage creative play

We don't go to playgroup...DS is in daycare 2 days a week tho...on the other days we, (normally, when I'm not trying to find us a house to live in), we have different things we do on the same day each week. One day we go to storytime at the library, another day we go to the park, once a fortnight we go to the markets, things like that.

When we go to the park, depending on which park it is, we sometimes take bikes, sometimes feed the ducks, sometimes DS collects leaves and stuff to do collage with when we get home. I let him take some photos one day then we printed them out after we got home and made a little book about his trip to the park.

We go to museums, art galleries, etc a few times a year too. Those places often have activities for littlies, you just have to keep an eye on their websites and places like 'Brisbanes Child' paper (I'm guessing there is probably one for each capital city...).

If you were after something more organised/structured, there's things like music classes, dance classes, art/craft classes...there's heaps of stuff like that around.

*make a cubby with sheets/blankets

*make playdough

*nature collage, with leaves,twigs etc

DD has done swimming lessons since she was 2 years old :) We used to do gymbaroo till she was 2, I know they have classes for older pre-schoolers too. Her daycare also runs a music programme, bringing in an outside provider twice a fortnight.

I've seen some basic dance and gymnastics type classes aimed at 3 to 5 year olds. Have you had a look for activities in the BubHub Directory (http://bubhub.com.au/kidgriddirectory.php)?

I'll have a look now, thanks:thumbsup:

I love everyone's ideas, I think we might go and feed the ducks today, take photos and make a story book about it when we get home.

Thanks:D
