Well I have finally got the energy back to write my birth story after being laid up with mastitis all week made me feel really cr@ppy !
After taking a tablespoon of castor oil on the 27th I had nothing happen at all other than a bit of diarrhea so on the morning of the 28th I took another tablespoon ( crazy I know but desperate times people:hair: ). Again nothing other than diarrhea.
Until that evening I began to have regular BH contractions which I basically ignored as I had been having them on and off for a couple of weeks already!
At about 1am on the 29th ( my due date ) I woke up to the contractions, but still didn't want to get excited so tried to sleep.
By 3am they were definately labour pains and i had a bloody show when I went to the loo, so I told DH who was excited but tired so stayed in bed. I told him I would wake him when things were getting serious.
I was fully prepared for a looooooooooong labour like last time so I was in no hurry to be rushing everyone out of bed to the hospital.
However it was impossible to sleep as I was so excited to be finally in labour and about to meet my little man.
I had a shower and farted ( not literally lol) around the house in between contractions getting last minute things together like my toothbrush etc.
I even hopped on here to chat and see if anyone was up.
I really thought I had heaps of time so I was trying to occupy myself.
I realised, I was getting myself up out of the computer chair less than every two minutes to have a contraction. Mum was concerned and was pushing me to go to the hospy now!!
So we got Xman ( Xavier) dressed and dropped him off to my good friend (Rell fellow Bubhubber's) place, was going to stay for a coffee but after a few really ouchy contractions on the way to her house we thought maybe we should just get to the hsopy sooner rather than later.
So we get to Ipswich Hospy at 6am and a nurse sees me hunched over a rail in the middle of a contraction ( they were 1min apart when I was walking around) so she rushed to get me a wheel chair, which was a waste of time as by the time she got back with it we were nearly at the birthing suite lol!
Middies all looked at me as if I shouldn't have been there, they weren't convinced I was in labour I don't think as I was coping so well, better than even I had expected actually. I was very calm and happy and chatty in between the contractions.
My middie Annette, did an internal and found me to be 4cms (at 6:30am) dilated woohoo. I was ecstatic as last time it took me 15hours of rough labour just to reach 3cms (bubs was posterior last time though).
So she took us off to our room which was fully decked out , very impressive:yes: and left me to labour on my own just checking in to do my BP and check bubs heartbeat every now and then. I did alot of walking around and didn't touch the gas for the longest time just leant over the bed with every contraction and sent sms, watched TV and drank copius amounts of milo in between lol!
DH also massaged my pressure points on the webbing of my hands as relief during contractions ( our accupunturist told us about it and it actually worked well for some time)

Mmm Milo! (http://s14.photobucket.com/albums/a323/JulzXav/?action=view¤t=ezelielbirth008.jpg)
I started the gas after an hour or so and it was my friend, yes much more effective than last labour for some reason?!?
By 9am I was starting to get a bit over it as the contractions were one after the other, I had barely enough time to catch my breath before another one would take over my body!
So mum asked Annette if we could have some pain relief.
She asked if we could do an internal first to see how far I had progressed, as she thought I was doing very well.
We found I was already 8cms:eek:
I was so shocked that I had dilated from 4cm to 8cms in less than 3hours. ( may not seem fast to some of you but to me it was lightning fast after my 30hour labour last time).
So she said if I was going to have peth it was now or never, but she didn't recommend it as I was doing so well on my own and the drugs may slow the labour down.
Well I didn't want that I wanted the baby out so she successfully talked me out of the peth lol!!
We decided to hop in the shower instead
In the shower (http://s14.photobucket.com/albums/a323/JulzXav/?action=view¤t=ezelielbirth009.jpg1.jpg)
I sucked away on the gas though it wasn't doing much by this stage the pain was just so intense. I getting more relief biting on the gas nosel than I was from inhaling the actual gas lol.
Sucking on Mr Gas (http://s14.photobucket.com/albums/a323/JulzXav/?action=view¤t=ezelielbirth011.jpg1.jpg)
I got to the point here that I had had enough, I knew it was the point of no return, there was no chance to hop back in bed for an epi now, but I was begging for a c sec please anything, knock me out I don't care I just dont want to feel this pain anymore I even tried to walk out of the shower and leave, dont know where I would have gone considering there was no escaping this bubs coming out !!
I could feel bubs bearing down too , but was terrified of pushing as I knew it was going to be even more painful.
Finally after a really HUGE contraction that made me literally scream at the top of my lungs, my waters broke and went splat all over the floor of the shower, I felt relief but at the same time FEAR!!!
I knew that bubs was going to come now whether I wanted him to or not.
After some major contractions I had another really big one which made me instinctively squat down and I felt his head pushing out when I put my hand down there.
It came out really fast in two contractions and then his body came in the next contraction.
I screamed the entire time, my god it would have sounded like some one being murdered, I hope no other poor women heard me!!
Ezekiel Luke was born at 10:56am weighing 6lb 13oz, 49cms log and head circ 34cms in less than 5hours from arriving at the hospital, so about 8 hours if you count from 3am at home when my contractions became strong and I had the bloody show.
Anyhoo, Annette gave him straight to me and he screamed his little lungs out too.
I couldn't move as we were on the shower floor and it was so slippery!!
I didn't get any pics of him first out as DH was helping me and mum had the video camera, so will have to get the guts to watch the video one day.
He had so much hair we couldn't get over it.
Xavier was a little blonde when he came out so we were expecting something the same.
He does look identical to Xavier in every other way though.
I was so damn sore. My goodness, it didn't hurt that much last time (last time I had an epi, which they turned off 2hours before I delivered so I felt some, but not all the pain).
Placenta came away with no probs and I felt so much lighter when it was out.
I was allowed to hold and feed bubs for over an hour before they even weighed and washed him so that was lovely, we snuggled up in bed and had cuddles and he was so content, until his first bath
First bath at hospy (http://s14.photobucket.com/albums/a323/JulzXav/?action=view¤t=ezelielbirth015.jpg)
We stayed in Hospy over night then got out as quick as poss the next day, I didn't get any sleep in hsopy so was really tired, man it's a noisy place in there.
I feel so different this time around.
I didn't get any grazes or tears so I feel like I haven't even had a baby in that repsect. My bleeding has settled faster too.
My tum is almost flat again but need some work to get the abs back lol. After getting to 65kgs at 40weeks I am back to 58kgs now, so only 3kgs to get back to my pre preg weight. You would be surprised how hard it it to lose those 3kgs though, seems to hang on for dear life !
The only suffering I have from pregnancy and birth is the dreaded haemorroids, which blew up in labour and are still very sore. I am going to need surgery to fix that, not looking forward to that but considering how good I have had everything else I am not complaining.
So all is good now and we are all enjoying being a family of four. After wanting three kids I am now feeling quite complete with my two little boys so I think this is it for us:thumbsup:

Bubs is so chilled out but alert, he hardly ever cries I can't believe how good he is, so different to Xav who would scream the house down day and night lol!!

Ok I think I have rambled on for long enough, sorry it's a bit long, but I know I have enjoyed reading other's birth stories when they go into detail, so wanted to share with all of you.
Hope you enjoy!
