Shiny, Shiny, Sha sha sha Shiny,
Shiny, Shiny na na nah na...
(another one you won't know Em! So sad for you that you missed out on the Valentine that was Morten Harkett)
Shed - oooh family gossip! Very juicy! Unfortunately I am the only bit of gossip in my family!
Uniquey - oh I believe you about A's sleep...I'm just  , that's all! She is just the cutest little bunny I've ever seen. Made me all clucky.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY CHLOE!!!!
Another cutie. There really is not one un-adorable baby in this bunch, is there.
Mrs P - Keeley is another cutie. She looked almost stunned by all those pressies.
Ah yes, that reminds me, Mrs Potts, that Pooh Bear outside the gate gave me a bit of a start! I didn't know what I was looking at (dimmed monitor and darkened bit of the picture) and thought you had one huge bugger of a dog!
Munchkin: ever since that spontaneous break-into-song a few months ago regarding A-Ha, I still think of you every time "Take On Me" comes onto the iPod :D
Mmmm, nice shiny new thread. Lovely singing Munchy.
Hi Beany, how're you doing?
Noos - how many weeks are you now?
Hiya Wattle! Not too bad. Asher's entertaining himself with three empty coke bottles that he pulled out of the recycling bag so I'm staying very quietly put on the computer. Supposedly studying. Actually faffing about on bubhub :p

Hee hee...sadly, you're not the only one! I 'own' that song. Tis MINE!
Lovely singing Munchy.

Thanks for all the birthday wishes :hugs: ...everytime I say something to her I call her my big 1 year old :D
Monique - Miss A just looked soooooo adorable. I just wanted to reach in and give her a big hug......awwwwww so so cute.
Erica - Keeley really looked like she enjoyed that cake.....little cutie she is. Glad taht you all had a good day
Rach - Good luck for your SIL...by the way, how is little Dean going? I think of him often. I hope I remembered his name right
munchkin - you made me laugh those posts of yours.....I don't "know" you, but i could just picture you walking all through your house trying to find the beeping sound IYKWIM.
Em - glad to hear Mya slept so well for you...hope it continues.
Ellen - had a giggle at your "death" stare lol....will post a better pic of the present when Chloe wakes up, it is a little man in a car and you bop his head and he makes funny sounds and the car goes.
Shed - oooohhhh love a good family scandel......
Noosa - How did the talk with the builder go
Wattle - the band sounds great
Beany - no good about the expressing......I have not had to do it for so long, but I could never get more then 40mls at a time, but that was usually after Chloe had a suck.......I feel a bit sad, Chloe is the big 1 now I can start to try her on cows milk.....not going to stop B/Fing though, but it does give me that little bit more of an option, especially since she generally won't take the bottle.
Jess - Can't remember if I said it before but I LOVED the mural
well I gotta go and get Chloe's presents all ready for when she wakes up, lucky she is little as there is no way that they could sit there all day without her wanting to open them......then will take a big piccie of her and all her pressies.
Bye

:ecomcity: A new thread??!!
While your singing is lovely I really am not sure who this Morton bloke you keep talking about is... is he a 80s icon?
We have booked to go to Adelaide for the weekend in 2 weeks. Really looking forward to it as its the same weekend as the Parenting Australia Expo. I am yet to have got to any baby expos so I'm hoping for lots and lots of freebies :D
While your singing is lovely I really am not sure who this Morton bloke you keep talking about is... is he a 80s icon?
Yes to the 80's, "not so much" to the "icon" :p .
Okay chicks, get this...
I gave DP my engagement ring back the other day, (last week actually), because I cracked the sh!ts about...well basically everything  ...and part of my emotional bonfire was that I wanted a proper proposal. A PROPER one where he ASKS me to marry him. So I haven't been wearing my ring for over a week (which is quite nice, just quietly, because it scratches the baby all the time and often gets caught on things :o but anyway).
So anyway, tonight he informs me that we are going out on Wednesday next week. At night. And he rang the daycare lady and asked her to babysit and everything.
So stay tuned.
Trying not to get my hopes up because we all know where that leads don't we?????
but we will see.
We will see.
Best case scenario, tickets to Priscilla and dinner and a proposal
Worst case scenario, something stupid that is unrelated to the whole iss-ewe

Firstly:
Learn about Morten Harket here (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Morten_Harket)
Ogle him here (http://www.morten-harket.com/index.php?option=com_ponygallery&Itemid=81&func=viewcategory&catid=2)
Secondly:
happybirthday sweet Chloe! Hope your day was wonderful! Loved the pics Tash.
Shed - good luck with the house hunting and the thing that you're not getting your hopes up about ;)
Beany - that big scary Pooh bear thing is actually a small foam chair. didn't even realise you could see it!
Munchy - so, what other 80s masterpieces are you going to start singing for us? You've really scraped the bottom of the barrel with Hazie Fantazy!
Hmm, brain dead now and can't remember anything else. Hope all the sickies are better though :fingerscrossed::wave:
Happy 1st Brthday Chloe!! happybirthday:party:happybirthday:party:
wow i had so much to say and quotes and stuff then we started a new thread and i have forgotten!
Well our house finally has a roof on it complete but coz of the crappy weather here we have to wait now for the brickwork and pad to dry out completely before they can do anything else so just waiting again!
I hate no shows! I hate not actually getting RSVP's more! No one i ever invite rsvp's they just assume i know then i either over cater or under cater! it will be the death of me one day!
Ooohh there was so much more i wanted to say but i have forgotten.
We had a pretty good weekend... Went out to a park on Sunday with my mum and took the kids on a tram ride and stuff. Will upload some pics when i have my Internet back to normal speed!
I have learnt my lesson about downloading albums during the day.... DON'T!! Wait until the free time at night!
Ok im off to bed now! Hope you are all well!

Happy Birthday Chloehappybirthday
Sorry i am a bit late, all sickies in this household at the moment:( Love the photos, your cake is great and Chloe looks like she is loving it! She looks so cute as always!!
Thanks for asking about Dean, he is doing great, in fact he has come throught the whole ordeal totally unscathed and with no adverse effects. The paed said that its a miracle in itself given the seriousness of being born with meningitis. I think the fact he was so big and strong must have helped a lot! Apparently the meningitis was caused possibly by listeria or something like that that can cross the placenta and cause things like meningitis:eek:
My SIL is ok at the moment, she has been told that she has something called CVM or something like that. I dont really know much about it, but the hospital dont seem to be worrying about it too much at the moment so maybe its nothing? She is 38 weeks tomorrow anyway so I guess bub could arrive anytime from now! Oooh I am going to be an aunty again!!! Yay!
Another Morten Harkett fan here, although I do prefer the 80's morten to the current morton.
Will write more again soon, just crawling back to bed for a while now, have the shivers brrrrr

Thanks for all the lovely comments about my Wascally Wabbit ladies, it's like as soon as she put on ths suit she knew it was time to ham it up. Noos, I got the suit off my SIL in Victoria, and I believe she got it in Target:detective:
Tash: Oh those photos are delcious! How happy does Chloe the birthday girl look, she is such a cutie pie. *Take a bow too, proud cake-maker* as you did exceptionally well:yes: . The cake looks great, well done!
(P.s/ very jealous of the warm weather attire everyone was wearing, it's so not that here, brrr).
Erica: Thank you for the Morten fix! He usually pops up in Monaco at the World Music Awards looking all preppy these days in glasses.
Munchkin: I had Hazie Fantazey in my head all day, 'watch out behind me, sha na, na na'.
Rach: oohhh, an Aunty any day, how exciting! Where is your SIL giving birth? Will you be able to see the baby?

LP - isn't that great about Dean, what lovely news! I don't know what CMV is though, I'll have to go and google.
Shed - ooooh, we'll be waiting for news!
Munchy - everything ok there lol?? You might want to add some mayonaise to that, or a side salad perhaps, just to break up the cardboard a bit, makes it easier to digest.
Hmmm...we have a knee walker! We've noticed that C is no longer crawling, but she's not walking either, she's knee walking!!! Ohhh, so funny! She has never really sat, always prefering to kneel and this must be the next development.
My knee walker! (http://s195.photobucket.com/albums/z151/noosamummy/?action=view¤t=IMG_0419.jpg)

Hi all
Back after our few days...and it was wonderful weather Noosa....no wonder all my friends seem to be migrating that way! The North Shore complex of Twin Waters was wonderful, and the family managed to behave well enough....well well enough considering that there were 12 of us together...could have been all sorts of issues!! Charlotte had her first beach experience - thought we'd got away without a lot of sand eating, but a couple of the nappies proved otherwise (...is sand any more fibourous than the rest of your diet Munchkin???). Did think of you Noosamum as I was staring up in that direction (well up at Mt Coolum anyway...was reminiscing back to when I was on Year 8 camp as a Year 11 leader and the 8's were very naughty one night, so with the teachers support we got them all up at 5 to go trecking to the top of Mt Coolum....can you tell who thought they were top sh&t!! The 8's behaved themselves perfectly the 2nd night though  )
I can't remember a lot of what I was going to say (darn new thread) but I loved the butterfly cake, have to join the list of those who don't know Moreton (though do agree with the Swayze analogy....I LOOOOOOVED him growing up - couldn't get enough of him in Dirty Dancing and Travolta in Grease...I wanted a man who could sing and dance for me...instead I got one who had to be coaxed to do the bridal waltz at our wedding!), and am glad for you Munchkin (with the batteries thing)
Have felt like I've been camping out at the doctors in the last week though...firstly C's croup, then managed to bend my big toenail back at 90 degrees half way back on the toenail last Thursday (on the back of my other shoe believe it or not...I was in tears for hrs because of the pressure, then got to sit in the docs for a few hours before I got needles and it removed .. karma for having planned a sickie on Friday), then spent this afternoon getting one of my ears syringed after having water trapped in it since the weekend ..... all starts adding up at 55 a pop too.... must take all the receipts to medicare
Anyway, should go and clean the house...have everyone coming Sunday YEAH:smiliedance: so had planned my 'preparation' schedule, only to talk to the priest today and he's coming to see us Thursday - will have to tidy a few days ahead now!
Oh and my secret to the birthdays...check back to our thread last year!!!! I was so sure I'd missed someone and went scrolling though all our chatter and couldn't find it (I think it may have been Mrs Potts, but I read it as coming day not coming weekend)....but we all nearly did miss someone (well up till now)....
Happy birthday Riley (Lilbugalugs) for today!!! Hope it was a fantastic one for all of the family (after what was pretty massive year for you Lilbugalugs).
Asher has a very bright red cheek. He doesn't usually get rosy cheeks when he teethes so this is very strange. Hmmmm ...
Things here are same-y. No buying houses, no building houses, no holidays, no birthday parties, no nothin'. Well, there's uni but that doesn't count - that's only interesting to me because I get to go out in clothes that don't require quick and easy boob access! How cool is that?!
Asher goes a bit manic when I come back. I get lots of giggles and hugs and kisses, then he pushes away from me, runs all around the room, comes back and does the giggles-hugs-kisses thing again before running off again. It's all very strange. He's currently sitting next to me chewing on my pants. Lovely. I'll stand up and have a soggy bit flopping against my shin.
Okay, off to snaffle around for some dinner!
pps Hi Mrs Potts, Beany and Noosa
Very cute photos!! Charlotte likes to kneel, but she's much more a poser....does the one kee up (sitting on the other foot with her arms resting on the raised knee
Oh....just thought of the absolutely CUTEST thing that she did this morning - She cried out at 5.30 (after having twice during the night that she creid out like in pain for 5 misn, but didn't actually wake  ) so I put her in with us...we all dozed for a while and I woke up an hour later to her prodding my eylid open, then doing her suprised face when she actyually saw my eye focus on her, then she put both arms around my neck and cuddled me....I just melted - it was SOOOOOOOOOO cute!! She's learnt how to be a good cuddler ...now if we could just work on the good sleeper thing....

Hi Amanda!
Amanda - what are you going to do next year re work? Is your husband going back to school and you have a turn at home for a year or both do part time maybe?
Beany, same-y can be good  I wouldn't mind a bit of same-y around here for a while.

Hi Amanda!
Amanda - what are you going to do next year re work? Is your husband going back to school and you have a turn at home for a year or both do part time maybe?
Noosamum XX
The plan at the moment is that we both head back to start the year off, but we'd really like to have no. 2 sometime soonish, so maybe me be back for the first term/semester max (but that involves sex and soon    ) It's actually a bit funny, because I keep getting volunteered into some more leadership roles (ie year level co-ordinator, acting HOD) but in the back of my mind, I keep thinking ' I don't plan on being here too long'. I really don't want to go part time...a little bit is the money thing next time maternity leave comes around (and my long service since I'll be able to acces that next time too and give me a much longer paid period out), but also I think that the kids are definitely disadvantaged by some part time partnerships - i know that they are great for working parents, but soem of my students have major hassles with the number of part time teachers that they have... (so long answer to a quick question)
Will just have to see how it pans out....I put C on the FDC waiting list a few weeks ago...much easier to do now than I think the reality of having to leave her with someone else would be.... might have to start that sex thing soon

Well a year has gone by....my little Riley just turned one @ 10.15pm AAAAWWWWW ..... Thanks amandaw for thinking of us
We had a little party for him at the park on the weekend which was really nice....I made him a Leo the lion cake which turned out really well... He has unfortunately been a bit grumpy today (another little tooth making its appearance) I have made little cup cakes for playgroup tomorrow so he will get to blow out his candle again!!!
I feel so blessed that he is in my life, but also a little sad and empty that time is passing by and I may never have a little baby again....I have been all nostalgic looking through his albumns and remembering...he was and is such a good little baby, I want him to stay little forever!!!

happybirthday Riley!! lil, I know what you mean about them growing up too fast, I keep thinking back to this time last year! Like this time last year dd was 1 day old, this time last year bubb was 4 days old and leaving hosital etc. It is amazing how fast this year has gone and the "baby" stage seems all too short. I dont know if we are going to have another bub or not, sometimes I think yeh, this year, then I think we will wait a few years hmmm:detective:
Noosa, I love the piccies, such cuties! The knee walking is really cute, I cant believe how fast our bubs are growing up!
Amandaw, that little huggie moment with charlotte sounds so cute, its great now they can express themselves better and be affectionate. E gives me hugs too, but her dad doesnt get a look in much to his disdain, all the cuddles are fr mummy so sweet aaaw:hugs:

I remember coming home with all my bags and stuff and just feeling flat but also relieved in some ways iykwim. happybirthday to Riley and all the other beautiful July/August babies.
My update is quite depressing actually.
Evil Ex is taking me back to court to ask for more contact time with my eldest three children.
House renovation is a nightmare, and we havent even started the actual renovating part yet - just ocmparing quotes and deciding on tradesmen etc.
Thomas was sick all of last week, and I've been sick for the best part of a month. Spent many a night in emergency rooms and doctor's surgery.
DH's ex is making life difficult by limiting the contact between DH and his daughter. Looks like another court case is inevitable.
Uni has resumed with a vengeance. Up to my neck in readings and assignments. Oh what fun.
Financially, we are in dire straits atm, with rent and mortgage repayments, travel expenses to and from perth, and all associated expenditures.
Sorry about the rant.
Hope its more positive next time...
I had 5 solid hours of sleep last night! And then another 2 hours! I feel positively HUMAN!
Talking of which, where are you Jane? I hope Jasja hasn't sent you catatonic. I was chatting to a woman in my class last night and she was telling me about how awful her son was a few months ago: waking all the time, really unsettled and having 16 breastfeeds a day  Anyway, she went to Tresillian who, apparently, don't do controlled crying. There is still crying involved but you can be there to pat them and soothe them, just not pick them up. Seems like a happier compromise to me. And her results have obviously lasted long term. The girl I know that went to Karitane and swore it was the best thing ever for her daughter is back to waking up every 90 minutes.
Sooky sooky - back in a bit.

Yes, they are. Baden has stopped clapping hands. He went from having OCD about it to completely stopping. I haven't seen it for about a week.
He has started pointing at everything. Last night I decided to see what he would do if I played the beep on the nose game. OMG he cracked up so hard I thought he was going to fall backwards off the bed. Apparently it is very very VERY funny.
In other news, we finally got him a highchair. So I put him in it and gave him a lamb chop. WHY DIDN'T YOU GUYS TELL ME EARLIER??? I had about 40 minutes of absolute peace and quiet. It was bliss.
I painted another wall.

Oh I really should be cleaning, or tidying or something..
.....name dilemma.
DH really wants Andie for a middle name. It has personal significance to him but I don't think it goes with Tilly (or Tillie). Our other chn all have family names for middle names but we haven't been able to come up with one that isn't going to upset/annoy other family members (well not other family members, just MIL who wants it named after her or her mother...over my dead body.....). Andie is not a family name as such but has great significance to my husband, I like it, I just don't think it "goes".
Is it worth making an issue out of, or should I just give in gracefully
Tillie Andie

I agree that Tilly Andie sounds a bit odd. Like it's missing a middle link. Tilly Molly Andie.
I would dig my heels in and refuse but I'm a cranky young cow ( :p ). I'd compromise by not insisting on Charlotte but insist that he comes up with something else.
Tilleigh Anphdeigh (the ph is silent)

Oh geez.... I nearly fell off the chair with this one! Sadly, there are probably people out there that go, wow, that's an exotic way of spelling Tillie and Andie.....still laughing here:laughing:
Better late than never... but happybirthday Riley for yesterday, we hope you had a lovely day!
Noos: Missie_Mack's right, two beautiful daughters there, no wonder you wanted more:D
I'm sorry to your DH, but those two names together just don't flow. Can you compromise and maybe have two middle names? Put Andie as the second one or something.
Raffee: Here I was thinking you'd post about your delish dinner party you were planning to have. Sorry to hear things are'nt too good for you at the moment. Life has a very good way of throwing us curve balls once in a while. I just hope you stay strong and weather the storm, and that things will work out better for you all soon. Thinking of you:hugs:
I thought this morning I would print out my 'birth story' to go with a birthday letter I have written for Miss A, but when I went to search on here for it, I suddenly realised that I didn't have/write one. Sadly, I didn't think at the time I was 'worthy' of writing one because I had to have a Caeser for her birth.:o It brought back lot's of sad memories for me from that time, especially after she was born and all the guilt I had.
Aww Monique. It's your experience and it's as valid as any other.
Write one now. Write one knowing all you now know - knowing that even thought you had wanted something different in terms of the birth, you got everything you wanted in terms of the child.

Aww Monique :hugs: your birthing experience is just as valid. You went through major surgery to get her here and those weeks of repairing.... write the story really. One day it might be helpful for her when she has her own children and the decisions she makes....
Noosa- I actually think the older daughter looks a lot like you... On the name thing how about Matilda Andie (and you only call her Tilly) Whomever the Andie is after maybe it was a shortened name for her.. does she have a longer name? With our names we look for common names of both families. Mind you we do have it a little easier as we have both our family histories back to the 1600's :o
Anyone got any suggestions on something little but nice to buy a 15 year old girl? She is my cousin but I probably don't know her very well so I couldn't buy her clothes or CDs I was thinking maybe some jewellery but what would a 15 year old like??

 Miss 7 is the absolute image of me (poor little thing haha), you can look at photos of me at the same age (and all the ages she has been) and think that it is Miss 7. But she is a far far prettier version of me!!
We have played about with Matilda but neither of us are really sold on it. The Andie is actually short for Andrew (but was known as Andy). Still thinking, but thanks, I appreciate all the input as I have nowhere else to discuss it!
15 yr old girls are hard! What about a Sanity voucher (not that I'm a big fan of the whole gift voucher thing but it's a tricky age)

We don't have DH's but we do have mine, I am a direct descendant of Matthew Everingham (First Fleeter) and there are three books published about Matthew and our family history and I have scoured each and every one of them for names!! (each and every pregnancy btw!)

My Dh is descended from Esther Abrahams and her illegitimate child Rosanna Abrahams. Esther went on to marry first fleet officer George Johnson (he was governor and the bloke who arrested Bligh) and Rosanna married Isaac Nichols (who was first postmaster) They were all first fleeters too...

Yes  , that he was, he was a clerk for a solicitor before he was transported and he was highly literate. He pawned two books and was indicted for "unlawfully by false pretences defrauding Samuel Shepherd of goods value 10s" as the books were belonging to his employer and the rest as they say is history!
Terrible time to live I think.

not offended at all munchkin.. i have had mixed responses, which is both good and bad.. they say it hurts less than needles, but if i cant bear to be there.. why would i get it done? i just dont kno.. hhmmph!
emandmya: I saw a little baby at the supermarket today and she had her ears pierced. I overhead an old lady 'commenting' (like old ladies love to do) about it to the mother. The mother goes "oh yes we just got them pierced today" and the old lady goes "Oh thats why her cheeks are so red" and the mother goes "Yes, we are mean!" and laughed at her joke and the old lady goes "Yes, you are".
Geez lady, don't hold back,

Em - have to agree with Munchkin I'm afraid. I don't think it's fair to pierce a child's ears when they have no say in the matter. At her age you would be doing it for you, not for her, and IMO that's not right. Particularly if you don't want to be there when it's done - if you can't watch, why should she have to go through it? Hope I haven't offended, it's just my opinion (for what it's worth).
Rafee - :hugs::hugs: so sorry things are rough for you right now. Will be keeping you in my thoughts.
LMAO at the Brianna discussion! I agree that Tilly Andie doesn't quite work. Maybe Tilly Andrea?

Well that's your answer I think. (not wanting to offend either btw)
I didn't get my ears done until I was 13 and in all honesty, my girls will only get theirs done if they want to and when they are old enough to make the choice. Miss 7 has no interest at all, maybe that will change but even though she has friends who have had them done, she says if it hurts, well she's not doing it!

Speaking of chocolate I seen that lindt is on sale at Target again....
Ear piercings?? No personal opinion on whether it is right or wrong. The only thing I would worry about would be the uneveness (apparently ears can and do grow uneven) but I think it is rare. I got mine done at 4 when I chose myself and was ready. Its a personal opinion thing I think where nobody will ever agree entirely one way.
Anyway, in other news, Baden apparently took five steps on his own just before. I was cooking dinner so I didn't see it, but he is very confident in stepping along behind his firetruck that he got for his birthday.

If I have a daughter I think I will make her wait till she's about 8 or so. I'd like to make it a bit of a 'girly outing with mum' type thing. A bit spesh. So she will need to be old enough to know about it in that case.

Happy Birthday Monique!!!
I hope you have a lovely day!
I agree about the birth story, its a great idea to write it. I think for a lot of us the actual birth wasnt exactly as planned but thats not the imortant thing. The end result is what matters, you have such a gorgeous gorgeous little darling girl and how she arrived in the world is just as magical and valid whether she had been born via tummy, vg or delivered by a stalk. Dont ever feel that you failed in any way shape of form, you made your little girl over 40 weeks and you made her perfectly:hugs: She is going to love looking back at the story of how she arrived!!
Thank you Tash and Rach, are you two trying to make me :crying: , what beautiful, lovely sentiments from both of you. After a bit of a harrowing week for me personally, (lot's of things). It's lovely to know I have people like you guys as friends:hugs: :hugs: Thank you so much xxxx

Night :)
Well we had a lovely day!
Went out to the Lindt cafe again, ate chocolate, drank chocolate, stepped in chocolate, cleaned chocolate off child, ate more chocolate ... :D
Baden, Bella and Eamonn are looking big and gorgeous. Very big and very gorgeous. Altogether far too big. It's as if they were a year old or something ... But of course that can't be right. They are the same sort of age as Asher and he's only 6 months old
It was great meeting up and nattering (as much as possible with a boy running off in every which direction, climbing up the legs of strangers and demanding to be picked up by said strangers. The big flirt!). I only realised after I got home that I had taken my camera and forgotten to take pictures. Good move, Beany! Very clever!
I'm absolutely knackered now and Asher seems to be much the same so I'll give him his bath and see what he does about this whole sleeping thing. We've been going well for the last couple of nights - a big 4-5 hour sleep, feed, and another 1-2 hour sleep followed by another feed and another 1-2 hours. It sounds awful on paper but it's such a huge improvement from the nights passed.
Hope all are well!

I'm another lurker too. I often pop in several times a day, but only post if I have something to respond to. Also, when you post and go back to the thread that counts as another view and they soon add up.
Beany glad you had a nice meet. Hoping you and Mr A get a good night's sleep.
I know I've missed something important, but truly can't remember sorry. Had no sleep last night - Miss K is unwell again. Had to collect her early from daycare yesterday as she was miserable and had a temp. She had a low grade temp all night and was miserable and uncomfortable and kept waking up crying. She wasn't much happier today, but her temp was a bit lower tonight. Regardless, have dosed her on Nurofen and hopefully she'll have a decent sleep tonight. We have a very special birthday party to go to on Saturday so she can't be sick!!
It was quiet because the big mouths were out scoffing chocolate!
I had my camera and on the way home I realised I hadn't taken a photo, grrrrr.
My sister sent him a pressie today. DP put it all together and Baden pushed it for about two seconds and it scared the shyte out of him, it makes a loud rattly noise, its a lawnmower (so now he has two, but they are different). So he ran away from that and spent the next hour playing with the packaging. I always thought people were exaggerating when they said kids do that.
He has taken a few more steps tonight and has stood on one spot and danced. His balance is getting pretty good.
He is being especially cute tonight, making his zzzzth zzzth noises. I haven't heard that one for ages.

Monique - :p yes, I bet you are envious of the summery clothes we were all wearing in the photos
Noosa - those pics of Miss C knee walking cracked me up.
Amanda - ouchie, hope your toe is better.
Alli - great to hear you had a nice time
lilbugalugs - would love to see a piccie of that cake
raffee - great to hear from you
Em - I have been and still am being nagged by people to get Chloe's ears pierced. But it ain't working, I will get Chloe's ears pierced when she asks me too. Some people just can't help themselves.
OK guys, I need some sort of ....I don't know. Chloe's sleeping has just gotten worse and worse. I am sick with the flu and I am putting it down to being so run down. She is so unsettled to go to sleep, day time and night time. She wakes contstantly.....I can't help but I get really frustrated. I know that it is our fault...............do teeth make them do this? If I want to do something about it, should I do it now while her teeth are coming through? We have put her in bed with us a few times and she sleeps so much better, but I don't. Plus I don't want to get her into ANOTHER habit. Her morning sleep I can settle her down with a BF, but her afternoon sleep is really hard to get her to have a nap.....do you think that is a sign that she is ready to drop a sleep?
I don't know, I am just REALLY REALLY over this waking business......it is to the point I just feel really anxious when it comes to night.
Sorry for my ranting.

Hi Erica and Shed
Erica, I hope Miss K is feeling better tomorrow. Poor little thing
tash - mya seems to have dropped to one mid-day mid-afternoon nap, anywhere between 12-3.. so maybe thats what she's doing?
i didnt realise this was happening until a friend said after 12 months they only need one.. well onl have one.. mya will have a quick one in the morning if i drive somewhere... if we are home there is way too many toys to play with to nap!
hi all
Tash: I've let Asher do as he pleases with his sleeps and look where that got me   (It's funny because it really isn't!)
I have no advice. If I did, it wouldn't be worth the webspace it was written on :p Having said that, here's some wasted webspace: if she is fighting a day sleep, don't fight her. It gets neither of you anywhere. I just let Asher pop off the boob and watch TV if he won't sleep. Fighting him with it just stresses me out and and riles him up more.
Some days he has two short naps: one at midday, one at 5pm. Other days he has just one at around 3pm.
I hope you get some good advice from the good mummies on here!
hi beany - why do u feel the need to bring up chocolate! hahaha.. i need some and we have none! mmmmmmm lindt chocolate!
Baden has a sleep at around 11.20 am, by that I mean at 11.20am I start to look for signs of tiredness and will go and jump in bed and feed him to sleep and it will usually work.
If anything wakes him (dogs, doorbell, phone) before he is fully asleep then he wakes up and 'show's over', he won't have a sleep till much later.
I only know the timing from that day that I decided to start a "routine". To be honest I only just remembered the routine when I started typing this post. I guess we are just not routine types because I honestly forgot all about it till just then, oops.
In the afternoon sometimes he nods off at around 5pm and I only know this because it means he is asleep when DP gets home.
And he doesn't sleep through the night. Never has and sometimes I think "never will".
Happy Birthday Monique happybirthday and happy birthing anniversary to yer mum, LOL!

mya's the same shed, except for i dont let her sleep at 5, i give her dinner, bath, bottle so she sleeps straight away after that.. and thats her bedtime.. she mightnt sleep thru (never has either, and i doubt ever will either) but even tho she wakes, she will fall straight asleep once picked up etc

i didnt realise this was happening until a friend said after 12 months they only need one..
Well shhhhh! Both Mr 10 and Miss 7 were having two day sleeps until they were well past two (nearly 3) and that's what I've told Clio she has to have :D
C sleeps about 12 hours at night (7pm-7am) and then back down again at around 9 until 11 (although today it was 12.30pm as you can see by my posts haha), and then again at around 2 till 4 pm, and sometimes depending on what we are doing, she will sneak another one in at around 5.
But Tash, in all seriousness, night time should not mean anxiety time for you. Does she have a cuddle toy (sounds ridiculous I know) but C won't sleep unless she has Dudley (cheap fluffy dog from the Post Office of all things) with her. Dummy? Blankie? White noise?
Ok, I am going to bed now, I did go before but I wasn't sleeping.

Sleep - My little fulla is trained to sleep when his sister does...he goes down around midday (usually after a morning at playgroup, the park, or a playdate) and will sleep for around 2 hours....he then sleeps from 6pm until around 4am when he has a bottle and then sleeps until my noisy DD wakes at around 6.30am.
Ear piercing - DD will have hers done when she asks for them to be done...a friend of mine had her daughters done when she was about 2...but she says that she wouldn't do it again, it has been nothing but a hassle.

Ellen - what did you end up buying the 15 year old. I think body products are always an easy present to buy.
Oh erm.... its just so difficult :o Really difficult. So Ive been thinking some good quality silver jewellery. Ive only ever seen her wear a little bit and I don't think she would be terribly spoilt so it would probably be something she would keep and remember me for.... I don't want to buy her anything too modern but I don't want to buy her anything old either. I was thinking of something long and dangly maybe with stars?? Oh really I have no idea... I find all this kind of stuff too hard somedays:(
On other news no birthday party again for my little Dubba. Apparently the club we were intending to have his party as an event doesn't allow birthday parties when they looked into it. Someone arked up as they weren't allowed to have one for their child.

On the sleep thing. DS only has one sleep during the day. Has only had one for months so Im very jealous of those (pointing at Noosamum) who get two  But then when the boy sleeps he sleeps well so I cannot complain too much I spose.... But Tash all I can say is sometimes DS's sleep is a bit topsy turvy but within a couple of weeks he seems to settle back into a routine easily. Maybe try a warm hot bottle popped beside her (in a cover) so it feels like your body heat??

Sleep: Another dropped daytime sleep here. E gets up usually at around 7am I feed hr and cuddle her back to sleep for about an hour and then she's up and about again. She used to have a short nap at around 10 but thats been dropped now, she now has a long sleep from about 12pm until 2/2.30 pm and thats it for the daytime sleeps. I dont usually let her sleep past 3.30pm, as she goes to bed at 6.30/7pm, She has her tea at about 5pm and a bath at around 6/6.30 after which she has her bottle and goes to bed. We still do the dream feed thing some nights where we will give her another bottle a around 11pm but that seems to be phasing out now too. She usually sleeps the full 12 hours at night.
Tash, try not to worry, occasionally E's outine goes out the window for a while if she's been sick or something. I just co-sleep with her for a few days and this always seems to settle her back down and get her back on track. It hasnt created any new habits so far except for the wanting to come int mummy and daddy's bed in the morning for an hour, but I think thats normal, I love having some cuddle time with her
I dont know if this helps but sometimes if I cant get E to have a good daytime sleep, I just take her into my bed and have a nana nap with her, this always seems to help :fingerscrossed:

Morning all
Sorry to bring up the sleep issues, I was just kind of beyond being tired yesterday.
My solution.......come on here and whinge. Chloe slept the best she had last night in 4 months. She stirred at 11 (which by the time I had gone to the loo, she was back asleep) and then we did not hear from her till 6.30am. I feel really great.
I think it just bugs me that I HAD the baby who slept through. Chloe was sleeping through at 6 weeks, then we hit 8 months and it has been waking up lots and lots. Ah well, most of the time I can just go with the flow, but times like yesterday, things just get to me......thanks for all your comments
lilbugalugs - the cake looks FANTASTIC.....well done
Ellen - silver jewellery is always a good thing to go with.
Ok off to entertain...bye

Ellen: regarding your silver jewellery dilemma, have you considered those leather necklaces with a heavy silver pendant? So beautiful and funky but not just "this season".
Why is it that I can't leave the room in my own house without whingeing protests yet he will quite happily crawl away from me out the door of a cafe??
Well??
Answer me THAT!
This 'selective separation anxiety' is just taking the p!ss. Surely he knows that when we are home I haven't gone anywhere, just to the next room or whatever (or heaven forbid to the toilet ON MY OWN). And he didn't seem too worried about where I was yesterday (sitting down trying to relax and eat chocolate).

As for sleeping... Noah has 2 sleeps a day... a morning and a afternoon. Lasts up to 2 hours per sleep. He is in bed by 7.30ish and sleeps through till 7am... We are very lucky, we only have had a few bad nights (touch wood) and that's when he has been sick or teething. Which by the way he is cutting a back molar and 2 more front teeth all at the same time... My poor bubba!
Noosa did you make a decision on the middle name?

Ugh, it's so hard. Tilly Mae was an option as one of my Grandmother's was Emily Florence May but Dh thinks we've named enough chn after my family - party pooper!

I've thought of that too, has happened a bit in my family. Mums maiden name was Griffin and it pops up every now and again. We were going to use it for a middle name if C was a boy.
And C is now awake (I can hear her trashing the cot haha) so I'll have to have a think later on.

My mums name is Clare
She was nicknamed "Tilly of the Tuckshop" ( I think) by her Dad when she was young and Tilly has just stuck...
Another nickname of hers I LOVED was Boo boo....as in Yogy and Boo boo. My dad was always called Yogy cause he was a big man but gentle and soft in his ways, so when mum and dad got together they started calling her boo boo......that makes me feel a bit teary.
I would be interested in going back in my family history. My Nana is Chinese and grandfather is Irish and on my mums side is Scottish and Irish.......maybe one day. I think it would be nice for Chloe when she gets older to have an idea...........well floors are dry....off to play

Hi to everyone else, inc the lurkers. :)
Well I'm almost speechless but..... I've been trying to teach ds about the potty with absolutly no success. So I put Steph on there to show him what to do. 5 times out of 5 she has done a wee there!!!!!  So I have put her in training pants today and she is as pleased as punch. How weird is that!
Other news - I have the flu and am sick and grumpy, hence the little posting.
ARRGGGG!!!!!!!! don't you hate the 'help' that you get typing that makes you lose a whole long post...lets try again and see what I remember!
Wattle that is amazing!! Hope it doesn't put any pressure on Max...our good friends 2 year old was toilet trained earlier than their 4 year old (he was stuck on nights), so I guess it's a case of each to their own
Secret August mummy santa arrived today! :smiliedance: Squidg is dying to open it,...so it is hidden, and I will post some pics tomorrow! Thank you!!!!!
At least she has an excuse!!! I'm having to had C's from my DH - he doesn't understand the concept of waiting for her birthday
Whoever you are secrect birthday santa mummy, you have beautiful handwriting!
Lilbugalugs - that lion was wonderful - very creative use of food decoration (and a great excuse to eat the rest of the packet of choccie bickies!)
A big happybirthday to AVALON - hope it has been a wonderful day for all of you Uniquey!
And just in case I don't get on tomorrow happybirthday JASPER - enjoy all the attention your impromptu party brings!!
on to us - my Mum may have started world war 3 today....for months I have been asking about my christening gown (which I know that we still had) as a possibility for C to wear for her christening and nothing has been done about it. Dh's mum sent down his sisters gown (Jess is one of C's godmothers) and while I was initially really disappointed that it wasn't 'strictly' family (in that it wasn't his) I had started to get over the fact...anyway, my Mum rocks of TODAY with my gown...and while I love the idea that C is going to wear the gown that I was christened in, I'm not sure how well it is washing with Dh and it will get even worse I'm sure when his family knows...sort of stuck between a rock and a hard place.....
And in terms of family middle names (which was alos a bit of a contentious issue with Dh's family... luckily he thought the same as me) Dh's Grandmothers maiden name was Campbell, as was his grandfathers middle name. Not suprisingly his Mum ended up with it as a middle name and so did his sister. There was a bit of an expectation that our baby would continue along (even though neither of his cousins did) and while I was more than happy to do so if we had a boy, I really don't like Campbell as a girl. We ended up sticking well away from all family names so that there was no 'favouritism'...our biggest hurdle was avoiding the names of a combined 9 years of teaching  Even as it is, the priest pronounced C's middle name (Alyce) as Alice when we met (rather than like Elise) so that seems to trip people up
Anyway, off to do some housework...need to take some pressure off tomorrow!:hair:
Im a lurker too... LOL
Dont really have much to say atm... just like to keep up to date on what you ladies are up to!
Happy birthday for all the birthdays that have passed.

I'm NOT!
I'm a geek. There's a difference.
Besides, the only thing I am even remotely geeky about is Joss Whedon-alia. Did I mention that I'm buying the comics? I mean, admittedly, I am a wee bit :o about that but heck, I'll justify it with the fact that they were written by Joss Whedon.
Littlejoy: I didn't even know you were in Sydney! There is a meet (a general bubhub one) next Thursday if you are interested. If not, we can organise another one soon. Let us know when.
Asher was very shy around loud noises (like those that came from Bella!) a few months ago but he's now the source of the loud noise so it doesn't bother him as much. Perhaps you just have a gentle, pondering little soul there. Not a boof-head like mine!
Talking of whom, I am being dragged off to watch Mickey Mouse. He's into companionship while watching TV now. Sucks. I used to be able to get a few minutes off as he watched telly but that seems to be on the out.

Hope you had a lovely day today. Ours was slightly odd. Em never ever ever ever sleeps in, and today she slept until 9am! Then kept wanting to sleep all day whilst I carted her around to Dad's b'day do, then another 1st b'day do. She was so cranky at the 1st birthday! Then we came home and the dog jumped on her and scratched her arm and she wailed and wailed. I felt a bit Bad Mummy.
Now I am running round like a crazy lady trying to clean, decorate, and set up the place for the 50-odd people coming tomorrow.
I must be crazy.
Still, it should be a good bash...gone nutso with the pink - Pink balloons, lanterns, streamers, tablecloths, plates, cutlery. And food for an army. I do have to say though, that it really is quite alot for one woman and a baby to organise lol! But Em has been very helpful...hee hee. Though I think it might be awhile before I do this all again.
Like, when she's 18.
My friend came around tonight to blow up all the balloons as she said "I'm NOT having you pass out blowing all those balloons up on your own!!" LOL!

I think he might have to work away a bit more often!!
Hope everyone has had a relaxing Sat!
Happy first birthday little Jasper :party:I hope it's been a wonderful day.
I agree, Munchy you are a supermum! It sounds like it's going to be a fantastic party. Lucky Em.
All these celebrations - what a wonderful month.
:gloomy: We still have the flu. It's horrible, the real flu. I went to the gp this morning just to make sure I wasn't going to die. I sat in the waiting room for over an hour. The doc just said "yep, it's the flu, there's nothing I can do. That will be $53 thank you" Hmmm, like he really earned that. I'm definately in the wrong business.......er well actually I get to spend every day with my little darlings instead of lots of sick people, so maybe I do actually have the better deal.
Mumstar - sounds like you're going to have a great night. Woo hoooooo.

Have a great party Munchy! What a legend you are!
Now, I just have to get this out:
Damn you Facebook! Damn my friends who dragged me in! I have so many better things to do with my time! (Not!)
So, have any of the Augustians been sucked into the Black Hole of Facebook? Let me know and we can be "friends" :)

Very quiet in here today...I keep waiting to see one of those tumbleweeds go running through like in a western lol
Not much happening here either. We were intending to go to Broken Hill today but I slept in. But I did however go shopping and looking for that damn present. I couldn't find anything on a leather choker as Beany suggested  but I did find a lovely pair of earrings (http://s140.photobucket.com/albums/r34/missie_mack/?action=view¤t=earrings.jpg) (thanks for the various advices) They might be a little older for her Im not really sure but I liked them and got them for a good price... actually I liked them so much I bought a similar pair in yellow gold (but without the ball bit in the middle) never have been able to wear silver always makes me look blergh I don't know how she gets away with it as we have similar hair colours  Maybe she has a different skin tone to me...
Anyway I was organising some pictures to take to be printed for the inlaws and thought I might share some. They were taken the other week after the baby shower. We had some helium balloons because our friends DF has it at work. In this one (http://s140.photobucket.com/albums/r34/missie_mack/?action=view¤t=MyDadisthebiggestandcoolest.jpg)he just seems to think his Dad is the biggest and tallest Dad ever which I adore
In this one (http://s140.photobucket.com/albums/r34/missie_mack/?action=view¤t=PICT0543.jpg)its when most of the balloons were almost on the ground bar the big balloon. He was just fascinated with the really big balloon so we tied up some down balloons so he could grab it and pull at it which kept him occupied for ages....

Cathy - XX, You have my sympathies, my DH has had this flu for three weeks and after 20 or more years together, I have never seen him so sick. he is 6ft 3, very fit, an athlete, and never gets sick and so it has been a shock to see him like this so  it is a terrible thing.

Have a great party, Munchy! I bet Em was just sleeping in preparation. Tomorrow, it's all about her! And presents. And cake.
Pottsy: Funny you should mention Facebook! My friend from Ireland, who I spoke to for the first time in YEARS last night, was telling me that I simply must join. I had a MySpace account a while ago and never bothered with it so I'm betting it'll likely go the same way. But I am a bit of a sucker to peer pressure and will likely sign up anyway :p Will certainly add you when I do - you and my Irish Tart will be my only friends.
Anyway, there went my 15 minutes of bath time peace. I was meant to be doing City to Surf tomorrow (just walking and pushing a pram) but didn't manage to get my bum in gear to sign up so I'll go shopping instead. Or sleep. Sleep sounds good.

I take it back. It is all about you. You running around like a headless chicken. You giving her presents. You running after the dog that took off with said present. You feeding her cake. You cleaning the spew that was a result of said cake. You collapsing into a heap in the corner and you using very create profanity with regards to Mr CP. And then you sobbing tears of utter joy and you look at her. And then you cleaning more spew.
I just joined Facebook! I feel so ... mundane  I did manage to find a few people I haven't seen in over a decade on there though. We'll probably have one of those frantic email sessions, catch up, know where each other is in their lives and then lose touch again for another decade.

Beany - will email you re Facebook.
And yes, it's a bit like Myspace, but much more fun... and addictive... :banghead::banghead:
I am not even going to look for Facebook. I spend too much time on this bluddy computer already.
We went to a 1st Birthday party yesterday. It was lovely. Friends of DP's. I just realised yesterday that of the three 1st birthday parties we have been to this year two of them are his friend's kids. He has his own little Fathers Group going without me even realising it.
Munchkin, actually the party will be all about you. Everyone seems to look at the mother on the child's 1st birthday. I actually found it quite excruciating because I HATE people looking at me, a whole group of people looking at me, ick. If you knew me you would probably say "oh but you love being the centre of attention" but that is a common misconception about me. I like it on MY terms, but everyone looking at me is not included. I rushed through the whole cake cutting bizzo for this reason. eww, eww eww stop looking at me :o .
Anyway, back to me, oh it already was, alrighty then - we have just been househunting and DP fell in 'intense like' of the very first one we looked at. I liked it too, it sort of seemed to 'suit' us. It wasn't the newest or the dearest but it just felt right. So now I want to go and drive past it first thing in the morning to make sure the sun is hitting it so it will be nice and warm in the morning (DP thinks this is a minor thing to worry about, but its the MAIN thing I worry about after living in two cold houses in a row, so he can stick it where the sun don't shine).
We looked at a couple of others. One of them was so bogan-y that I nearly laughed out loud when we walked in. The lady must love floral wallpaper, and those wallpaper borders were high up on the list of likes for her too. The whole house was, um, "decked out" shall we say? Too funny. It would take too much effort to de-boganise it so we just moved on from that one.

Good luck with the house business Shed. "Feeling" has a bit part to play IMO. When we bought our first house that's exactly how it was for us. And we believe it was absolutely the right home for us - Cam was about 9 months old and slept through for the first time the first night we were there. Even with all the stress of moving and what-not, he was relaxed and totally "at home". That was when we knew we'd made the right choice

Thanks for the birthday wishes Beany, Missie Mack and Mumstar!
We had a great day. It was full-on, but a really great party and everyone hung around all afternoon and ate all the food, so that's always a good sign.
Despite my invite saying "no presents please", Em got spoilt rotten. A truckload of beautiful presents - people are so generous to us. Really blows me away sometimes how amazing my friends are. And embarassingly, I did get a bit :crying: when I made my little 'thank you for helping us get through the year' speech after we cut the cake. How embarassment :o .
I'd swear Em has grown up overnight -today she is zooting around everywhere at the speed of light, and looks like a little girl all of a sudden.
Secret Santa - thank you so much for the cutest present ever! Will post some piccies when I am not so tired.
For your amusement: Had THE funniest conversation with MR CP this morning. I sent him a txt message saying "This time last year I was grinding the skin off your knuckles". He eventually called, and we had bizarre conversation of "I thought it was the 12th" "Yes, it is the 12th". "No, it's the 10th, I thought it was the 12th"....and on and on and on...until I finally said "YOU LOSER! She was born on the 12th, and TODAY IS THE 12th!". He was devastated. Turns out he thought Tuesday was the 12th, and he would be here for her birthday.
Oh boy, did I laugh and laugh and laugh. I had to say "You are the world's biggest IDIOT, but don't worry.....she'll turn 1 again sometime" :devil6:
Happy Birthday Divine Miss Em!! happybirthday
Glad to hear you had a good day munchy. Poor CP, I feel a bit sorry for him, lol. They're hopeless aren't they?
missie_mack
12-08-2007, 18:04
Oh Munchkin I am so glad you had a great day. That Mr CP just sounds chronically clueless. At least he thought to come to her birthday though right?? I would actually have a softer moment and throw a party for 3 for him or something (if he has family of his own in Brizzy)
Maybe Coober Pedy is in a different timezone. Or maybe it's just his head. Is his bum in a different timezone? :p I suppose it makes it better in some ways, though. At least he thought he was coming for her birthday and he had the decency to be upset that he would miss it.
And I KNEW you'd get all teary! :D Has anyone not been a little teary yet? I'm determined not to be! Watch me! I won't get teary!
(much .. !)
I went out and bought a mini muffin tray and some cake decorating equipment. Next Friday, the kitchen won't know what's hit it! Been a while since my last bake-a-thon. So far, there are plans for mini muffins (obviously!), big chocolate cake, lots of cupcakes, scones and some cheesy biscuits. And then we'll buy some other bits and bobs.
We went up to Myer to have a look at potential birthday presents and Asher grabbed hold of one of those mower things that pops balls up as you push/pull it along. He LOVED it! Wouldn't let it go! Ran from one end of the floor to the other pop-pop-popping all the way. Being the mean mummy that I am, though, I took it away and made him cry and didn't buy it. I just know it would be one of those other 30,000 toys we have around here that he adored at the shop and ignored the second we got it home. But anyway, when I took it away, he cried and lunged for it. And then fell to the floor and refused to move!
I stood there and laughed. Not even 1 and the "WANNA WANNA WANNA!!" tantrums are here. At least he's small enough to pick up mid-tantrum still.

shed - when we started house hunting, we put offers on a couple - all to be knocked back.. but the very first one we looked at, wasnt the best of the bunch, certainly wasnt the worst.. but it felt 'right'.. anyway, 3 months later, hadnt had another single offer and they ended up accepting ours - $40k off the value price too.. and its just perfect for us.. everything's original, which we plan to replace.......one day!

Happy birthday Em and Charlotte :)
So many babies, so many birthdays ..... but now they're all one  I've said it a million times but I dont know how its one year already.
Have been enjoying hearing about all the parties. Now that B's party is about 2 weeks away, I'm thinking seriously about the cake .... but I have both the Old version of the Woman's Weekly birthday Cakes book, AND the new version, so surely there's something in those I can do. I'm thinking at the moment - a butterfly cake to cut, and then people can either have some of the butterfly cake, or have a ladybird cupcake.
But we'll see how domestic i feel - it might be a butterfly cake to cut and then everyone can have some chips and lollies :D
Dear Secret Santa,
Mummy finally let me open your present on my birthday and WOW, WOW, WOW, I love it! It was so very thoughtful of you to have lovingly hand painted my very own special letter 'A'. I am still deciding where on my wall i would like to hang it, probably above my Cot I think. Thank you also for my groovy bangles (which were very tasty, lol) and my hair clips, which I can't wait to wear. :hugs: so much, I am a very happy girl,
Love from Avalon xxxxxxx:hugs:
Grrrr, I have just finished posting, only to lose it all, photos and all....
Anyway....
As you can imagine the last few days have been quite hectic here and my computer wasn't working, so it's only now that I have been able to get on to thank you all. I would like to say Thank you so much to everyone whom posted the wonderful birthday wishes for Avalon and I. I was so overwhelmed when I finally did get to read them, and after the terrible funk I have been in, it was a lovely surprise and very touching:hugs: and Secret Santa, a very special thank you to you for the gorgeous gifts, xx
We had a wonderful party day and although it's a lot of work, it was well worth it in the end. I think Miss A was in shock over the amount of gifts she received as she has never seen that many toys in the one room and her little head was darting this way and that. I am going to have to stagger the toys out over the next few weeks. It was lovely to see so many people happy in the one room, all there to celebrate and it was a lovely party by all accounts. Here are some pics,

Munchkin- Great pics!!
Beany- How are you going on your eggless recipe hunt??
Well we've had an um ... interesting day
Oh the drama. Oh the idiocy. Munchkin, think Mr CP needs a friend down in that hole of his? Noodle will even bring his own shovel!
In other news, Asher has finally FINALLY learned to clap! So cute! And he waves on demand! And he kisses on demand! Quite a show puppy!
Hi Everyone. Well must be the day for it. I'll even pack a spare shovel if my dh can join the others. (Dh does NOT stand for anything remotely pleasant either) Beany sounds like one of these might be kinda nice :hugs: .
The clapping sounds great. Steph has just learned to do kisses, but she sucks the sides of her mouth right in and has a dopey look on her face that's just hilarious. Too cute.

Sorry guys, but no-one even comes close to Mr CP.
Even with their own shovel:D
However, there is PLENTY of room in the medieval stone fortress that he bought as a 'family home' hee hee hee...
Beany - you made me laugh out loud with your Different Timezone comment. And Missie MAck, don't worry - I'll be nice :D :devil6: . Seriously - I am FAR nicer to him than he deserves. I did save him some cupcakes, so we can re-enact the birthday. I wonder if he will bring a present? Probably not. Oh well...doesn't bother me anymore.
Where is everybody? HAve they all got better things to do than type their life story on Bubhub?
I don't :o
Really really quickly (because I'm feeling so bad that I haven't had time to get on today for a real post...only packed the last of the relatives off an hour ago...thank goodness!) but Secret Birthday Santa - the spinning top was an ABSOLUTE hit...other than her big cookie monster that she just wants to chew the eyes off, your present has been the most reached for item there....C thinks she's absolutely amazing when she can get it started (or when she thinks she's working it once we get it started)
An absolute winner, so thank you :yelclap:
Will be back with photos and a catch up tomorrow!

happybirthday Teddy boy! Yes, my big boy is 'numbers' today! He lurved his Secret Santa pressie. Have a piccie, but haven't got it off the camera yet. My parents came over tonight and he got his wheely bee. He has no idea what it is, but likes to bop the antennae, so that's something. Having his partee on Saturday, so will cake him up then.
Just whizzing past as am slightly shell-shocked from the conference I went to. It was pretty full-on, but I think I may have found a way to save the book I was writing (which was dead, dead, dead).
Hope everyone has been super great here. happybirthday to everyone I missed (Charlotte? Emily?). Hope it has all been good news and all the kiddies are sleeping wonderfully.
Will catch up soon!

Where is everybody? HAve they all got better things to do than type their life story on Bubhub?
I don't :o
Nah, me neither.
Well, we got our joint account. I am a bit scared of it. I don't know the "rules" of it. So basically I am broke until I get brave enough to take some money out of it. Am I supposed to 'ask' or do I explain afterwards what I spent the money on? Or do I just spend it and explain nothing? What about when he asks about it? and he WILL because he has never had a joint account before and he doesn't know the rules either.
eeeeee, I don't loike this.
In other news, bubby has no new tricks but this beeping thing is starting to get on my nerves. He wants to do it all the time and he will only laugh if I go "beeeeeeeeep" really loud, otherwise he just keeps stabbing my nose. He does it all the time, a sharp little finger is always heading towards my face. Beany, I blame you. I only did it because you gave me the idea
The other day I saw him crawling towards the dog with his finger stuck out. I am pretty sure the dog wouldn't have said "beep" to his satisfaction so it would have been poke, poke poke.

Congrats on the joint account I think
James is mad about doing indian woo woos. You know you take your hand to and away from your mouth while you go ahhhhhh. He does it to DH, himself and me. Its kinda cute really :o
 welcome to my world! Asher won't stop unless you say "BEEP" either. And often he won't stop even if you do because it was just so funny.
Give it a week and he'll start pulling your bottom lip and expecting a weird and wonderful sound. Apparently "OWGEDDOFFITYOUBUGGER!" wasn't the quite desired response.
Lots of drooling happening here. More teeth more than likely. No sleep more than likely, too.

Morning,
Quiet in here the last day or so  Apart from all the birthdays of course :)
Nothing much to talk about at this end. Same old, same old. Really hoping today is the day we find out if our building plans are through council, I am just so sick of waiting around, just treading water. Blerk. Sort of the way I feel about being pregnant at the moment (oh not really, I'm just a bit over it but not looking forward to the birth in any way so trying not to wish the time away).
Shed - are you making an offer on the house?
Munchy - seriously good cupcakes!!
Loving all the photos by the way girls

Shed - are you making an offer on the house?
No, not yet. We are still looking and educating ourselves on what you get for what amount. Its a case of not wanting to rush into anything and if we miss out, well that's just the way it is unfortunately. The Real Estate agent was really pushy, no surprises there, but we won't be rushed into anything.
We are looking at a couple this weekend as well. All around the same price. DP wants a pool and most of them have a pool. I couldn't care less about a bluddy pool but they all seem to have them anyway.
So far we haven't seen anything we like as much as the first one we looked at, which is sort of weird in a way.

They say same its normal.. just like trying on wedding dresses. Apparently you always like the first one you try on best.... my only house advice is to get surveyors reports and pest inspections. Apparently not everyone does this  We found both the side fences on our yard were out in favour of the neighbours. My Mum and stepdad found out their creek goes through their property and isn't their boundary etc Does Sydney have a version of allhomes dot com?? In the Illawarra we can look at all the land sizes on there.....

We had a building inspection done on a house we were buying a few years ago (but didn't buy it) - all the skirting boards were riddled with white ants and the owners had just painted over them. You could put your finger through the skirting boards in places, that's how bad the damage was
