I bought two frames which came with an ink pad to stamp my baby's hand and foot print. The foot print was easy as, but how on earth can I get a handprint when she has them clenched? Omg, I had ink everywhere yesterday! Has anyone else done this, and how did you do it? My DD is 12 weeks. DH suggested when she is asleep, but if it didn't wake her, cleaning it off certainly would!

LOL i had this problem when i was trying to cast ds's feet and hand prints!! i actually had to get dp to hold the frame while i placed his hand for him it was quite difficult but slightly easier if done as a team effort... LOL good luck

Good luck! It took me some time, but I found stroking the back of his hand helped. Then once the hand opened I kind of swiped it across the pad (then it closed again) then stroked the back, then quickly grabbed the paper and brought it to his hand rather than his hand to it. I hope this helps!

I had the same problem. I did it while DS was sleeping and it worked perfectly.

I just did the same thing for DH's birthday. I used a paint brush and every time it brushed on DD's hand, she opened her fist as a reflex. That's the time to quickly put it on the paper/cardboard. Keep persisting, it makes such a wonderful present!

Thanks girls! I did it while she was asleep! Then I photocopied it several times to include with photos for the relo's, to save making the poor child uncomfortable to get anymore handprints out of her!
