Has anyone used the betalife diet plan or can recommend something as my mum is giving me $200 towards a diet plan for me to lose some weight.

I've got the betalife DVD set (that cost me $70-something) and for me, it didn't really work. Gave me some idea's on how to eat better etc, but was nothing I didn't already know. And the way the DVD thing is, it seemed like it was almost brain-washing. There was this strange pulsating pattern in the background, and they repeated a lot of stuff. Seemed a bit, i dunno, weird to me.
I didn't stick to it for very long though so I can't give you a completely accurate assessment of it. But their basic mantra seems to be "eat better, drink heaps of water, exercise a little every day, get a better attitude".

They do seem to be able to deliver pretty good results - I joined up because of the ad with Sara-Marie in it, she has lost heaps of weight on it.

You're probably better off spending the $200 on an excercise bike or a step-walker thingy, eat more vege's and fruit, drink nothing but water, and jump on the excercise machine every night for half an hour.

(Of course, I'm a fatty myself and it all sounds good in theory :p ..... if I ever get off my fat butt and lose some weight I'll let you know how I did it)

I used to scoff at my mother, who is a self-confessed ebay addict. But I've discovered it a couple of weeks ago and I'm obsessed too!! I wish I could get addicted to exercise like I've become addicted to bubhub and ebay!!!

I heard today they've brought out this new weight-loss pill that burns fat, and makes you feel motivated as well!! LOL sign me up please!!!!:p

yeah wouldn't that be great. my mum is on some pill that was on tt and she has lost 4kgs. it is really expensive $130 mnth but it absorbs the fat in what you eat,

Honestly, I htink youd be MUCh better off putting the money towards a gym membership:) Much healthier and more useful than a diet plan.

Yes i was going to suggest the same thing as Ffrenchstar,
I would definatly recommened and consider you put it towards a Gym membership. Plus you were saying you dont have the motivation, I couldnt think a better motivation then knowing you have spent all you money on the membership, that thoughts gotta get you there, nobody likes to waste monety :)
good luck! :D

I wouldn't even waste the money on a gym membership - you probably won't go unless you're ultra-motivated.

My opinion? For $200, I would go to the doctor, get checked over and share your health concerns with them; see if theres anything you need to pay particular attention to (ie. a heart problem, diabetes or something) Theres about $50 bucks gone.

Now for the rest of the money thats left over I'd buy some nice clothes that are comfortable to move around in (and don't contain any lycra - thats a motivation killer if ever I saw one!) and then take your kids/partner/dog/etc to your nearest park and go play! Run around, play some soccer or football or cricket or just play tiggy - doesn't matter, as long as you have fun and participate.

"Watching" doesn't count for participation.

Don't obsess about diets and losing weight. Every person with half a brain knows whats healthy and good for them and whats not. And every person's body knows when they are full - you just have to listen to it! Eat whatever you feel like at the time, just listen to your body when it says "hey you! I'm full now!" and don't ignore it!

I only seem to lose weight when I don't think about it.

mayamoo what the? I'm not quite sure how to take this,I thought this forum was all about sharing information that you think might be useful, well thats what I thought anyway. You might be able to affford expensive things but not everyone can so I am happy to spread the word about a free diet website that makes you feel good as well as lose the weight. It took me a long time to feel happy and be healthy so I can pass good info to my kids and be a good example and even be able to conceive in the first place so if I can help just one other person then it is worthwhile.

Maybe you have never had a weight problem so you wouldnt know what it feels like. But for us who have it is a godsend. :yelclap:

I havent tried betalife but to be honest I think if your looking for a diet programe its all a bit of trial and error. All diet plans normally work if you stick to them its just finding a diet plan that works for you.

I am on Tony Ferguson at the moment and I love it. It suits me and I also exercise alot and still feel great.

Good luck with your decision but nothing beats healthy eating and exercise!!
