Can someone recommend a good GP anywhere around Inner City to West Sub of Melbourne. I am very disappointed in my current one, who didnt really help when one of my twins wasnt well. I am looking for a good reliable GP.
Hi,
I know a good GP in Footscray if that helps. Let me know what suburb you live in and I might be able to let you know of one close to home. I used to be a pharmaceutical sales rep in the Western suburbs (and I live in the West as well) so know which GP's are dodgy and which ones are good after calling on them regularly for a couple of years. Dr Helen Dooley at 91 Paisley St, Footscray is great -the number for the clinic is 9687 2271.The only problem is that she can be hard to see because she is very popular.

Hi. We see Dr Darra Murphy at the Western Medical Centre in Yarraville (corner Williamstown and Somerville Rds, ph 9315 3499). I highly recommend him. He's approachable and calm. Takes everything seriously (I was there this morning with my 12 month old over his prolonged reaction to the MMR vaccine and he was very thorough about checking him out to rule out other sicknesses, ear infections etc), but doesn't over react. Also, he's pretty easy to get in to see - usually later that day or the next.
good luck.
Dr Adrian Jury is very good. He used to work at the Hoppers Crossing Medical Centre (9749 3200), but I have noticed his name was taken down, as I haven't been there for a while. I'm sure they could tell you where he's moved to if you are interested. I like Dr Jury as he has young children too, a very friendly guy.
