My 8 1/2 month son has about 6 red circular patches on his back ranging from large to small and under his chin comes and goes with the same thing. These patches weep and when i think they are improving they become darker. He has only started to scratch under his chin since he has been put on antbiotics. I dont know what to do or who to believe anymore!.
any suggestiong on lotions or potions??:crying: :crying:
Did the Dr confirm it was eczema and not something else? Not that every case is the same but on the back isn't the most common area to get it. With eczema (and everyone who has more experience with this feel free to correct me) I'd expect to also see syptoms on areas such as face, knees, elbows, wrists, ankles
As for suggestions for lotions & potions, I wish I had answers. My DS's eczema has a life of it's own and seems to improve & worsen randomly regardless of what we do or do not do :banghead:

My DD's eczema is literally all over her body and she has large patches on her back also. As someone said, make sure it is eczema and if your GP can't help, ask for a referral to someone who knows more about it ie allergist, paed, derm etc.
We have to manage DD's eczema with hydrocortisone every day, all over her body, plus we coat her in QV intensive a couple of times a day.
We've tried plenty of 'miracle' eczema creams and absolutely none of them work in the slightest.
Also, make sure your bub isn't overly warm - eczema bubs usually need less clothing than others and if the patches are on his back, try to keep him on his tummy, use OMO sensitive or Amolin to wash and use white vinegar instead of fabric softener - it brings washing back to the same pH as skin.
If your bub is teething, the rash on his chin might be related, but it would be best to find out for sure.
Good luck.
