Hi girls,

Thanks for the setting up the new thread Sarah. Wow, August already, we'll be talking about birthdays and Christmas before we know it!!!

The girls seem a bit better today. We gave Lara solids last night, but she just vomitted it back up, so she hasn't had any today and I probably won't give her any tomorrow either. She slept in her own bed last night, so I managed to catch up on a bit of sleep (mind you I was on the phone with a friend for 3.5hrs... almost until 1am)

Michelle - I almost pmsl when I read your post ... Glad Abbey has decided that boobies are good again. She sounds like she has been a good girl all round, sleeping and eating, what more could a mummy ask for?

Kimba - I hope Jet is ok. I don't think it would hurt to get a second opinion. My GP diagnosed bronciolitis first and then said that he would just check her throat and he couldn't believe how sore it looked. I thought it was the coughing that was making Lara vomit, but he said that it was the throat. Jet's been vomitting too, hasn't he? How was your PD day today?

Well we're off to the snow in the early hours of the morning, so I won't get a chance to get get back on until Wednesday. Hope all the sick mums and bubbas get better soon.

Take care

Ok, I'm back. I've got the boys settled into bed. We're a little late with bed time tonight as they all had a snooze in the car this afternoon. DH is back again this week, and we've spent the last couple of days driving around searching for either our dream piece of land to build our dream house on, or an already established house. It's hard work!! We are going to inspect a couple over the weekend, but I think I'd really love to build. At least that way, we are sure to love everything about it!!

My boys are mostly over their illnesses now, but now I am sick  I hardly ever get sick, so I've been a bit of a horror to be around the last couple of days! I feel like I'm swallowing razor blades - my throat is killing me!! I've been popping the panadol and sucking my difflam lozenges, but they're not doing too much. Shouldn't last for long, so I'll just have to get over it!

Me and my great ideas  I decided I'd join the gym didn't I? Well, my sister and I went to our first class on Wednesday morning. It was a butts and gutts class - OMG!! I am hurting in places I didn't even know existed!! I can hardly laugh, sneeze or cough without having to hold my tummy....it hurts so much!! She wants me to go again on Sunday, but I just don't think I can handle it again that soon, lol!!

Well, you know how I thought Jarvis had a tooth come through a little while ago? I now believe I was imagining it!! There is nothing there apart from a teeny tiny white dot that hasn't grown in size or anything for weeks, so I'm guessing it's NOT a tooth!! I've still got a gummy baby!! One that doesn't like sleeping at the moment!! I am finding it really hard to get him down for his morning sleep, and most days now, he has a sleep around 12.00pm - 12.30pm, after his lunch, then perhaps another one later in the day, or just in bed for the night by 5.45pm - 6pm. It's driving me crazy!!

Good on me, I can't remember what was happening with everyone!! I'll have to be back for personals - after my yummy apple crumble and cream, YUM!!

ETA: Sare - posting at the same time!! Have a great time away at the snow! Make sure you all rug up extra warm, it's started getting really cold again hasn't it?

Michelle: Well I think my DH is the first 'next one' to comment!! Whilst sitting in the car today, he leaned over for the grab, then run his hand down to my tummy. It's all I heard about for the next 5 minutes!! Hey, I've had 3 babies, of course I'm going to have overhang!! Yay for Abbey turning into a 'big girl'. It's a little sad when they start doing things for themselves. I'm forever getting told to "move away", or "I don't need your help Mum". It shatters me.

So annoying - DH is totally harrassing me and wanting me to cuddle on the couch. I'll be back tomorrow!

hey girls

sounds like sarah might be next :bfp: if hubby has his way   ,,,,couldn't help myself

Well not much happening here although I am a little cranky with a lady who had a tupperware party booked tonight...I drive over there after loading car (when I would much rather have been going to sleep) only to find no one home. I rang and she hung up on me. WT?? I only spoke to her this morning and all was good. I give up - some people are so rude.

Anyway my darling little man is still happy in the land of raspberries. He likes pulling up everyone's top and blowing them on whichever belly he can get a hold of...gotta love him

Okie I'm off to bed be back tomorrow

lol, I was just thinking the same thing Sarah - here comes our next BFP!!! Good on you for going to the gym
Di - How rude of those people, can they not just pick up the phone and cancel, I would be fuming if I were you.
Sare - Hope you have a great trip and the girls feel better, we'll miss you here.

ok off to bed, will see ya tomorrow. My exciting news is that i've lost another 2 kgs so am 1kg off the weight I was when I got married which is great but everything does seem to be in different places though:rolleyes:

Hi all,

typing on my laptop (finally set up my wireless network at home) so scuse any typos from my big clumsy fingers!

Jet seemed much better yesterday after sleeping really well on thurs night...he went to daycare yesterday and was fine, and ate all his dinner last night so I thought he must be over his bug. Then last night he wouldn't go to bed and just wanted me to hold him for an hour which is SO unlike him! then coughed all night and basically had a shocker, I think he had me up about 4 times and ended up snoring in bed with us at 6am this morning.

He woke up really unhappy and seems sick again so he was only up for half an hour and had some apple custard before I put him back to bed...I think a second opinion is in order too Sare, so I'm hoping I can get an app with my preferred doc this week, although I'm dreading telling my boss I need another day off...

Georgia - nice one on the weightloss, you've always looked fab to me. How's Sophia's chest infection?

Di - I hate gutless people like that, all she had to do was call you to cancel or at least speak to you when you called her.

Sarah - ooh the pain of returning to the gym, ouch. I hope you and DH find some land and get to build, that's a dream of mine too, doubt it will happen in this lifetime though, we can barely afford our apartment let alone building a house LOL. How cute that Jarvis is still gummy, sometimes I wish Jet was, he bites me!

Sare - poor Lara with her sore throat. I hope you all enjoy your trip to the snow and don't come back sicker than before you left!

Michelle - LOL at the doctor...the one we saw is my preferred GP's 'backup' (they work at the same practice) and he's from South Africa. He's not that bad but just doesn't seem very thorough and doesn't take our concerns seriously IYKWIM. Maybe he's seen one too many neurotic mothers! Yay on Abbey drinking from a cup, it's sad how they're growing up but it's also exciting too, soon we can teach them to do lots of cute and stupid things for our own amusement

I can hear my little man moaning to himself in his bed so I'd better go check on him. Much as he runs me totally ragged when he's well, I hate seeing him so subdued and unhappy...

Hey All

LOL Georgia about the weight in different places I know exactly how you feel!! I have settled about 1kg heavier than before I was pg but I am sure there is a lot more concentrated aroung my tummy!!! Doesn't help that we had to sell chocolates for the hockey club and as I don't see anyone at work me and my mum bought them all!!! (too scared to get on the scales at the moment)!

Sarah - I agree - hope you had a good night!!

Sare - glad to hear you are getting back to the land of health in your house.

Di - I would be very angry about the Tupperware - when I had a party and half the people cancelled last minute I wasn't happy - I would rather they said no to start with!

Well I have to run and feel poo head (yes we had a bad night last night - grrrr).

Have a good weekend everyone.

 everyone,

I have some uninterrupted time to myself tonight as DH has gone out with the boys (thank god, lol) I never thought I'd hear myself saying that!!
LOL on all your comments too!! Cheeky girls you :p

We have had another busy day looking at land and houses again! A little bit of excitement....the block of land we found the other day that we both just love and want has now been reduced by almost $30000  It's 1/2 an acre which will be just perfect.
We also found a very nice house, only 2.5 years old, which we may also be interested in. We are still undecided as to what way we will go.
I'm feeling a little better tonight - my throat isn't as sore as it has been, so I'm hoping I've had the worst of it.

Re: Weight positioning - I totally agree with everyone too!! I may be close to pre pg weight, but it's sure sitting in some different places than it was before, lol!

Kimba: Poor little Jet. I hope he's not feeling too unwell today. I hate having to take the kids to a different Dr. Ours is on leave at the moment and is returning next week, however he is totally booked up then for the next 10 days after he returns. think I'll need to find a back up, although it's so hard finding a good Dr you can trust isn't it?

Georgia: How exciting for you losing another couple of kilos! love seeing the scales drop (although I don't think I will see that for a while with all the chocolate, etc I've been eating lately, lol)

Di: OMG!! What a rude and selfish biartch! It would have been much easier for her to call you rather than be the way she was. It's not like you can just not rock up to parties when you don't feel like going, so I don't know what makes her think she's so great that she can not be home!!! Bad karma to her }}}}}}}}}}}}}

We have another busy day tomorrow doing some visiting and some shopping, then Monday DH has some special thing planned for me (he won't tell me) and then I think we are going new car shopping!! He wants a new car and I want a new car. The argument is, who gets their new car first!!
Time for an early night I think. I have the dishwasher doing the dishes for me, the dryer doing the washing for me (if only I could have some sort of contraption doing the wifely duties for me, lol!! Hmm, I guess I could have if I really wanted too, lol) and my babies are all fast asleep.
Take care, Sarah

Morning all!

Well I have had a busy busy few days, and a busy week ahead- I'll be glad when this fortnight is over!

Thurs was my trip to syd- up at 3.30am, got home and straight to bed at 10pm.

Fri I went down to melb for the night to celebrate my SIL's birthday with her- went out for a few drinks and came home sat morn. So DH had Nedd for the night.

Interestingly enough he has been doing pretty well over the last week with his sleeping- when I am around waking once or twice and maybe even managing to resettle himself, except apparently for when DH has him.

According to him- Nedd required resettling atleast 6 times fri night when I was away, and become unsettled the mintue I walked out the door at 4am thurs.....funny that this doesn't seem to be happening when I'm around  so either Nedd knows when to play up, or someone is exagerating to get sympathy-pity he isn't getting any

On that note- what is it with the Oct daddies at the moment- have they all taken "be an @rsehole" pills simulataneously???? Maybe we should do a house swap for them all so they learn that they haven't got it any worse than anyone else- if anything probably better!!!

Q's- has anyone else got a headbanger yet? Nedd has taken to banging his head back in his highchair- religiously! And he will bang his head into anything he can find at the moment- rather worrying, but I have been told by one of my paediatrition customers that its only a concern if they continue after three years of age- before then it is a natural developmental thing.

Food- has anyone else ventured into tinned spaghetti realms? Nedd LOVES it, but I am worried for some reason I shouldn't be giving it to him??

Also how much bread do you think is too much? Nedd has a piece of toast with breakkie, sandwich for lunch, and I would like to give him another sandwich for dinner- he doesn't seem to eat much then, and I worry he isn't getting full enough before bed. I know a sandwich would do the trick.

Sarah- that sounds very promising bout the house/land! I love house hunting...

Michelle- oooh Yay for Abbey, fingers crossed last night was another good'un- waiting with baited breath....

Sare- I was about to ask if you went to the footy, but remembered you are at the snow! Well jealous bout the snow- but bet you wish you were at the game too, bl00dy pies! Hope your having an awesome time up there!

Di- OMG- that is super super rude. I used to do party plan, and I would have been fuming, I know how much trouble it is to get everything lugged into the car. I'd be black banning her! I had a tupperware party a few weeks ago and bought the modulars to kit out my pantry- I am going to do it this afternoon- you have NO idea how excited I am!!!!

OK, well I best go jump in the shower- I am off to meet Georgia and Sophia this morning :smiliedance:

Sal - well done on getting your DH to take care of Nedd - I agree he is undoubtedly exaggerating about resettles. Of course Nedd loves his mummy more (accept no substitutes) though. Can't believe you went out drinking all night long  Did you pull?

I dont have a headbanger, just a head shaker. She shakes her head when she is sleepy or having trouble drifting off (ive usually taken the boobie BEFORE she starts shaking), or just before a poo. Yes, just before a poo, she gives a little head shake and a shudder before going to work.

Yep, tinned spaghetti is pretty good here. Abbey has a real thing for pasta, so i either buy ravioli etc for kids, or make it from scratch. All the adult stuffed pastas are chock full of preservatives, including 282 which i thought was getting phased out of everything, not just bread.

Sarah - are you buying a house to relocate to the land, or is it an either/or? You are certainly having a shopping good time! Did you win lotto? I did too, cept I have to rescue a Nigerian Princess to claim it and I'm more inclined to let her suffer.

Kimba - is Jet feeling better yet? Its quite worrisome.

Georgia - Ive not been losing weight. I have been using all my spare time to cultivate a sumptous front bottom. I downloaded a couple of exercise clips but havent watched them yet. If i watch them I'll feel guilty for not doing them, whereas if i dont watch them i can claim they were fakes and feel better.

I asked my ex over yesterday to entertain abbey while i mowed and did the yard work ive been neglecting for two months. At the very moment he arrived, so did my family, all 5 remaining at home kids in tow! Poor guy was confronted with my mother and father who know all his misdeeds and nasty fetishes and he wanted to run away again but was parked in. Im sure he thought it was a trap!
I knew my family were coming on the 4th, I just didnt realise when that was exactly.

Abbey's sleeping has not been as exemplary as the other night, but it hasnt been too bad. After battling for an hour to get her to stay asleep in her cot after waking up, i finally had to take her to bed with me, where she had 2 feeds during the night, but otherwise slept very well. I cant complain with that. Its not wonderful, but its not tragic either.

Question: Abbey has been enjoying self serve water, draining the 200ml or whatever her magmag holds in under 10 minutes. I only let her have free reign of her cup once a day, she gets to drink about 100ml after meals too (but i take it away). She eats well, she boobies well - how much water is too much or enough? Am i mean for not letting her drink an ocean full each day?

I've been MIA for over a week, and WOW, you gals can sure :ecomcity: ! I'm not sure where to begin, or what to say to everyone, so I'm going to be really slack and just do a general hi, hope all is well, and I hope all your bubbas are being kind to their mummies!

I will go MIA every now and then, as DP has to take the puter with him when he goes away for work, which has been every fortnight or so lately. So that leaves me at home with a 10 month old, MS and no cyber-chat relief!!!!

I have no real news, other than we have told some more family that we're expecting #2. The response has been really positive, which is nice, but there is always that "Was it planned??" - it really cheeses me as even though we were trying (for 1 month :yelclap: ), even if it was an accident we would want this baby just as much at Isabella. Hmmmm, some people have no tact!

:smiliedance: I can't believe Bella is 10 months old today! :hugs:

Poor little poppet has had a rough couple weeks. 5th and 6th teeth coming through, a mild cold, touch of gastro and then last night for soem reason she through up everywhere about an hour after going to bed. Poor bubba had to be showered as she has spew from head to toe, and it all over her cot and even hit the floor. Just what mummy felt like cleaning up with shocking MS!!!

Righto, feeling seedy, shabby and tired, so going to go and make a nice cuppa tea and then hit the sack!

I'm so exhausted today...
DH has now got the whole sore throat thing, and I tell ya, anyone would think he was dying, lol! I've been battling through this week, doing what I normally do around the house, etc, and here he is tonight, laying on the couch - asleep - where he has been now for about 2.5hrs!!

I've received an email from my bestie today, telling me that she feels her pregnancy is no longer viable :gloomy: I'm really hoping for them that all shows positive tomorrow when she has a scan. She has had 2 previous miscarriages, so she is quite paranoid, and half expecting that this will be another. She has a lot on at the moment, so I'm hoping that it's just because her mind is elsewhere that she feels this way - she says she has 'lost' her pregnancy symptoms.

Kristen: I can't stand it when people say things like that!! What business of it is their's anyway? They are not the ones that will be raising the child, so it has nothing to do with them - family or not!! JMO anyway! Good to hear from you :)

Michelle: Maybe I did win lotto, I haven't checked my ticket from last night yet, lol! Re: House/Land, yeah, it's either/or. When it comes down to nitty gritty's, it's really going to depend on what the costs of building are compared to the costs of buying an already established home. If they are around the same, then we will build. Lol, I'd let the princess suffer too. Haha for your ex too! Let him feel squirmy wondering what all your family were thinking of him, lol!

Sal: It's either some sort of weird tablet they have all got their hands on, or it's the weather, lol! There's definately something going around amongst these men of ours. Perhaps it's just the whole privates jiggling thing? Some sort of secret mens code for 'let's all be a**holes' lol!Men and children - I'm yet to figure out if there are any men that don't whinge at having to look after their own children. I had a hair appoint on Thurs, and was due to finishe there at 12pm. DH had his tax appoint at 12pm. I got "couldn't you have booked the tax appoint later than 12pm?" The last time I checked, it wasn't all that hard to put a baby in the car seat, drive to your appoint, take the pram out of the car, put the baby into it, meet your partner, hand over the baby, then go to your appoint!!!

Re: Head banging: I have a head banger here too. And a serial raspberry blower! And a crazy arm waver! He looks really funny when he's doing all 3 things at once, lol!

Well the washing has stopped, so best go and whack it in the dryer, (The boys, including DH, were out motorbike riding today, and got absolutely covered in mud!!) grab a bite to eat, then watch Greys. Night all.

Hey All

Sal/Georgia - I hope you rmeet up was successful yesterday. I wish I could have come. Sal you are being a bit of a supermum with all that travel - pity DH is a poo head. Oh and Kayley is a bit of a head banger too - she has just taken to throwing herself backward again which is a bit of a concern - hasn't hurt herself yet....

Sarah - good luck with your decision on house or land. We built here and are going to build again in SA - building is challenging but I love moving into a brand new place with things that you picked out.

Michelle - glad things seem to be going OK on the sleep front (albeit not exceptional) - I have decided Kayley will be waking up still until 13 when she will turn into an obnoxious teenager who wont get out of bed all day!! But at least she does settle herself sometimes.

Kimba - I hope Jet is 100% soon.

Bec - Kayley has only had one sleep the last 3 days because we have had something on and extended her first sleep (swimming, hockey, photos) and she has slept for about 3 hours and woken happy - so maybe she is heading down the one sleep track too?

Well we had our Bonnie Babes photos yesterday. Kayley was pretty good - got some great photos with DH but when it was time for me to come in she was getting ratty (Typical we have a million photos with DH but none with me!) - anyway all the photos with me are nice but I am just on the edge rather than a front on.

Well we ahve some news (and it is not a BFP here) - looks like DH has got a job in Adelaide so we will be moving over ther in about 7 weeks (OMG so much to do here before hand) - so I won't be going tback to work in a month and instead have to find something over there.

Well sorry I have to run I have a little growth on my chair grizzling and going mumumumumumumumum....

Have a great day!

Hi all

just a quickie from us. Poor little pumpkin Adam has a case of the runny poos and the I want mumumumumum's. So we have an excuse to lounge around and do not much today.

Well except visitor 2 has left this morning and lot number 3 arrive tomorrow so I am washing and changing sheets and towels and all that fun stuff.

I have got a d**n chest cold but other than that all is well. No m/s yet just VERRRRRRRRRRRRRY tired (like I was with Adam - must be old age. I never was with the other kids) I've been falling asleep on the couch at like 7.30 ha ha. My poor Grandma assures me it's because of my chest. ( We haven't told most of the family yet until we get closer to the 12 week mark).

Well I just walked the massive hill behind us with mr magoo in the pram to try to calm him. He is restlessly (sp!) sleeping in hte pram while I am typing and still puffing - god I am the most unfit person in the world at the moment........better sort myself out or I won't be capable of pushing this baby out lmao.

Hope your friend is ok sarah - must be scary for her.

Hope little Isabella is also ok soon

Love to all

~Kristin~

Headbanging - Isabella doesn't bang or shake her head, but she is another serial raspberry blower, and arm waver.

Bella has also started 'dancing' when you say "dance Bella dance", or when Hi-5 starts. Its so funny, the little tushy goes from side to side, one leg stamps out a beat and one arm flies around as the other one is usually helping keep balance. Looks like she is going hardcore at a rave or something! She cracks herself up everytime! NUTTER!~

MORNIN LADIES...........

Wow its been a while ..AGAIN!!!!!...

Sarah - Thanks for setting up the new thread!! How exciting looking for property. I wasnt keen to build again, but now I am warming to the idea. And a new car!!!!!...Wow you have some serious shopping to do. :hugs: to you best friend!!

Sare - Hope you enjoying the snow, you lucky thing. Can you believe I have never seen snow??... Hope your girls are feeling better and had a great time at in the white stuff...

Di - Poo to your tupperware appointment... .. Like you have time to be stuffing around like that......You certainly know how to make work for yourself with all those visitors.. your house must be absolutely buzzing... Enjoy the 3rd lot of visitors.

Sal - Are you sick of travelling yet??... I thought this new job meant less travelling??.... My DP tendsa to exaggerate certain things that have happened whilst he has Darcy too. Its just a man thing, wanting us to know how hard it was whilst we werent there...

Michelle - Crack me up with your ex getting bombarded with the family. Woulda been nice to watch him squirm though...

Kristin - How awful to have people ask if it was planned............Thats just plain rude IMO. You poor thing cleaning up after Bella with MS. I probably would have added to the mess if it were me...:o

Beck - NO NO NO.... We dont want you to go!!!!..........WE love you being a Melb mum....:crying: . On a less selfish note for me. Congratulations on your move, It will be wonderful for you to be so close to your family. But we must organise a melb meet up for you leave.

Ok so I had an ok attempt at personals, will try and be more regular.
Well a bit of a selfish post about us for a bit.....I have been really busy with little time to do much pther then work, sleep, eat. These 6 days in a row are really killing me and as you know I have been swapping my shifts to start at 3am and its sooooo draining. I had a quick coffee with my gf's the other day and after I left they both sent a message asking if I was alright coz apparently I looked awful.
On a positive note my DP has really stepped up to the plate. He does whatever needs to be done whilst I am at work, I came home from work on sunday and he was just finishing a load of ironing...good lad!!
I do tend to get grumpy when tired and I am trying not to take it out on people, and I shouldnt because he really does whatever is needed around the house without asking.
So my little girl is 9 months old today. She is such a little sweetie cant believe how much she is growing..... but she still wont crawl......I know i shouldnt stress about it, but its kinda weird dont yas think??.... ok best be off to enjoy my day off with my sweet pea... kisses to all bubbas........

Hi guys,

Main news here - Ella is only waking once a night, if she wakes early in the am, I either leave her to play (if she's happy) or get up & pull her into bed with us. I'm about to drop the lunchtime feed - we will be down to 3 feeds in 24hrs!!! Scary but it will be nice to have that extra 15mins in the lunch hour to play with her or hey, even eat my own lunch:p

No luck on the house front, the agents say they've never seen the market in Yass like this. Which is terribly helpful. But I don't want us to settle with something that one of us then feels like they were compromised - so we'll still be renting for a while!

Kristin Ella dances too! So cute. She bounces up & down & wags her head from side to side. She gets into it even more if you stand up & hold her hands and dance with her! It's really fun but hard on your back! Also, I HATE those people who ask was it planned - what a super rude question!! I often comment on this in my circles so maybe the word will spread that it's just not on!

Di, hope poor you & Adam are well soon. Don't be so hard on yourself of course you're puffing if you've got a chest infection!! You should see me dripping with sweat after All Star Workouts in the morning. I live for the ad breaks :D

Beck - I actually love the one sleep thing... probably just because she sleeps so much better and is much happier in the afternoon. Adelaide - wow! that's big news! At least you get to postpone going back to work, right? (I'm sure all that packing etc will be a breeze)

Sarah, :fingerscrossed: for your bestie. Hope she & baby are ok.

On the poo head DP thing - maybe it's still coming here, but my DP has been exceptionally lovely lately. He really does so much, when my mum came to visit on Friday he did all the washing and vacuuming, so I "wouldn't have to worry about anything when she's here". Then he went and worked all weekend (shearing) too. Plus when he came to bed last night I got a lovely cuddle & "I love you". (he claims he does this every night & I just don't wake up!!) So that's my shout out to my lovely DP.

Michelle I ROFL after your last July post. Plus ha ha ha to your ex, that could have been planned as an evil genius move to make him uncomfortable! Sucked in I say. I hope your family glowered satisfactorily.

Sal I was also wondering about tinned spagh? But I thought maybe it would be high in salt? Ella loves spaghetti in nearly any sauce (bol, pesto, spinach) so I thought it might be a good convenience number for the nappy bag?

Kimba lol at the laptop - I also feel like I have to type more daintily on those! hugs for poor jet feeling sick, hope you can find a decent doctor soon.

Ella has climbed up the steps to the spare room to get me & is sooo proud of herself - better go give her a cuddle!

Hey All

Wow it is quiet in here!

Mary-Anne -- don't worry about the not crawling yet - many babies don't start until 10 months or so. Actually in our mothers group only 4 out of the 10 are crawling. They range from 9 to 7.5 months but there are at least 3 which are older than Darcy and not showing any signs at all. Another only started last week (about same age as Darcy) and he is still going backwards. Kayley is still commando crawling but is starting to pull herself up on things so it wouldn't surprise me if she skips 'proper' crawling. Oh and take care of yourself hun - we don't want you too run down!

Kristin - Kayley is also a dancer - I think it is my fault and I am the NUTTER though as I am always dancing around. She started to boogie quite early probably copying her weirdo mother but she does it on command now (at least some of the time)!

Bec - yeah the packing....I just keep looking around thinking about how much we have to do - we have been in here for 4 years and have accumulated lots of JUNK! Yay on your hubby being good - you too Mary-Anne - hopefully good hubby vibes are being sent around!!

Well I have to run - things to do around here!

Hi all,

well not much exciting things to report here, Nedd seems to have one good one bad night here at the moment- last night was the good one, so putting money on tonight being bad!!

He seems to be all over his ailments- I actually realised this morning that it ihas been a couple of days since I've had to wipe his nose- thats a nice relief for both of us!! In turn he is a treasure (as he always was) during the day, and has found his appetite again. Lunch he has a sandwich, banana, yoghurt, cheese stick, andi am sure he would have more if offered. Now I worry if I am feeding him enough, or too much and making him a little guts!!

He has also started letting go of things whilst standing- he can manage for a few seconds usually before going @rse up!! But he is reluctant to walk (like with us holding his hands) apart from cruising up and down the coffee table/couch- so I am hoping it is a while off yet.

Maryanne- I am afraid I can't get sick of the travelling just yet- I am syd again thurs fri this week. In gippsland next week, tas the week after, then syd a couple of weeks after that  BUT after then it should settle down. The syd trips are mostly cause it is a new role- so won't happen much after the one in sept. I like going to melb each day though, cause I know exactly what time i will leave and get home. Rather than all over the place and being unpredictable.

You make sure you take it easy...i know it will take a bit of time to get into routines, in the mean time don't try to get everything done! And great to hear your DH is being helpful...

Bec- Nice that your DP is being a god boy too. Can you get him to have a chat to the rest of our other halves?!?! I think he gets the best husband award for this month. (none of the others even qualify for nomination!!)

And re the spag- I buy the kids ones such as wiggles- I don't know if it makes a difference but I thought maybe they would have less salt?

Beck- DONT GO NOOOOOOOO we don't want you to go, who will you play with an adelaide??? (that said I will be over there every 8wks for work- and often with nedd!) But all the same- you will love being close to your family. We must organise a meet I can come to before you go.

Sarah- Goodluck to your friend- let us know what happens.

Michelle- Nedd won't drink any water so I have no answers for you there- but don't "they" say that babies will tell you if they have had enough of stuff- so maybe that correlates with water too???

OK, I best get back to doing some work. Take care everyone!

:)

 Hi all, been MIA for a few days, you lot have been chatty! I'm at work so this will be quick and no personals, just wanted to say hi.

Jet is over the worst of his flu, but still snotty and coughing. It feels like he's been like that for months. What to do? Doctor says there's nothing we can do, I just hate seeing and hearing it, I wish he could just be well. He was such a healthy bubba till he started daycare! I suppose the silver lining is that his immune system is getting stronger all the time.

Hmm what's new with us. Jet is refusing to clap or wave, although I KNOW he can do it. Not walking yet thank goodness, although you can see him thinking about it, he lets go every now and then when cruising, and I think he's sick of crawling (he cries in frustration sometimes when he has to crawl to us!). He has become super cuddly and affectionate lately, and I'm loving that. Although he has a tendency to get overexcited and bite my face really hard!

His appetite still hasn't returned though after being sick. I don't know how he manages to stay so chubby, he really doesn't eat much! Nowhere near what some of your bubs are eating, that's for sure. I suppose I should be thankful, one day he'll be eating me out of house and home!

Oh and re: dancing. Jet will bob up and down on his knees every now and then, but usually just laughs at us in hysterics when we dance for him. He shakes his head around if we do it (DH goes 'Rock and Rollllllll' and headbangs and Jet does it too, very funny) and also does the head side-to-side thing when he's tired or frustrated.

Kisses to all the bubbas!

Hiya girls,

I'm back!

Beck - Wow on moving to Adelaide! What does that mean for your work? Kayley's dancing sounds hilarious, make sure you get it on video so you can watch it in a few years (weeks!) time.
Mary-anne - Sorry you're feeling a bit run down. Don't you love it how good friends can say things like that:rolleyes: but nice for the concern. Sorry I didn't get to see ya on Sunday.
KImba - How funny on the headbanging  we must have a bubs'n'mum catch up soon so I can see Jet and how much he has grown *cheek squeeze*
Sophia loves to bite my face as well, esp. noses.
Sal - IKWYM about the health thing, it is so nice to have a few days minus illness :fingerscrossed: and thanks so much for coming to see me it was lovely.
Bec - lol I just read your post about your dh doing housework to my dh and he didn't believe it!! Good on him though, that is really nice for you.
Sarah - Hope your friend is ok poor love ((hugs)) Hmm, when was the last time we girls had a nap on the couch with not a worry in the world?!?
Di - Hope you're feeling a bit better and over your cold.
Lesley - Wow, Scotland, lucky mum. Hope the results are good for Montanah's tests.
Michele - Gosh, are you from a big faamily or what!!! I'm sure Abbey's father would've been thrilled (ha ha)
Krisitn - eww on cleaning up vomit with ms, how awful. How many weeks are you? Have you started thinking of names yet. Sorry to pester but I am obsessed with names and must've started at least 100 lists when i was pg!

Well I had a lovely relaxing time away and of course it was lovely to meet the gorgeous Nedd and the even more gorgeous Sal.

I think I must've put on that weight again as the food was so great esp.the breakfast buffet and there was even a Bread and Butter pudding out for BREAKFAST!! Who can walk past that?

Great to hear your news girls but i'm knackered and have lots of washing to do so i'll see ya soon

:hair: have just been up since 5 having a screaming match with Ella trying to get her back to sleep. Changed her nappy, wrapped, unwrapped, cuddled, not cuddled, even boobie. But althought the boob shut her up for 10 mins, because she was tired she was toothing me so it hurt, and I really resented giving in anyway - what's the point of cutting out the lunchtime feed if she's going to pick the 5am one up again??

arrrghhhh!

you know I always considered myself a very patient person - why is it that such a little creature can press my buttons so easily?

Vent over!

(now I'll go back & read some personals)

Kimba lol at the rock & roll baby! He'll be doing air guitar in no time. Your post made me laugh & relax anyway!

Georgia - I know it's often met with disbelief. SOmetimes he drives me mad cos everything has to be "just so" in the house but I know it's waaaay better than the alternative! He has been told by other men that he's "letting the team down" Now if I could only get him to make an honest woman of me... (my bestie is getting married in October - 7 months pregnant! - and I'm having serious Muriel wedding jealousy!)

Wow Sal, sounds like Nedd is a great eater! Ella doesn't eat much, I've just assumed it'll pick up when she stops having this many b/f's. Kid spagh - aha! I'll have to investigate.

Beck - DP can't send good hubby (or bad hubby) vibes - he doesn't qualify as he is not a hubby :p just my live in lover... wow that title would make my Mum even happier than de facto!! I laughed about Kayley's mum being a nutter - I am so in that category too, life is a musical for me I'm always singing & dancing around

better go see to miss tired & cranky

Bec - sorry to hear about your early morning drama, these kids are busily identifying our buttons and seeing what happens when they are pushed. I like to confuse Abbey by being completely unpredictable, and it entertains me too. Wonder how much her therapy bills will amount to when she is grown?

I dont understand how a man can have a baby with a woman, both of whom he loves very much, but not actually say the words "will you marry me". You cant have committment issues if you are happily committed!

Georgia - only 10 kids in the family, nothing too major. Fortunately there was a big gap in the ages so half of us are out of home and getting old, while the rest are still beating each other silly.

Kimba - what a lazy bugger! Imagine being frustrated at having to crawl to get somewhere! Abbey isnt ready for walking either, despite her dad saying she stood up without assistance and took a step towards him. I didnt see it, it didnt happen! Glad Jet is feeling a bit better, but boy, that flu is really hanging around isnt it? I like to think Abbey has an immunity of steel thanks to my boobie milk, which is one of the main reasons i fret when she rejects me. I dont get sick, and i figure she has only been sick once cos she shares my immunties. Goodness knows enough people are spreading germs all over and around her when we go out. People are gross, seriously.

Did you all see the research suggesting that clean houses make for sick babies? I think i can fairly claim that I keep the house a mess for abbey's own good. Clean dishes are overrated. TBH, I use a serviette instead of a plate to prepare her morning toast. Oh the shame!

Abbey sometimes dances along to her activity table music, stepping away and bopping. She's usually far too busy moving around the table in circles trying to press all the buttons at once. She sees mummy sing and dance all day long, so i doubt she will have any shame about doing the same herself.

Question: Do you follow the same change time routine in a public change room as you do at home? Eg, for a poo, I put her pants on my head and shake so the legs are bunny ears, peel down her nappy and screech "ew poo yuck" a couple times, before singing nonsense about being rude while cleaning up. I do this pretty much every time, since she was old enough to not cry from fright. Only times I dont do it are if her pants are covered in something unpleasant or she is having a tanty or its the middle of the night. But i did it in a big change room last week and boy did i get some looks. I think they were ready to commit me there and then!

Sal - the sleep thing is a trick - he runs you bonkers one night and rests the next because HE is tired from it. If only these babies could understand a reasoned argument! That sure is a lot of food, does it take him long to eat?

Theres a smell wafting this way that suggests pants will soon be on head, so just quickly have to say that Abbey has slept through the past 2 nights! :smiliedance: She has woken for a drink around 11pm, then nothing until 6.30am! She's still in my bed from around 9.30pm as she refuses to settle after that wake up unless she is in my bed (big battle, much crying, headbutting the bars trying to get out), but if she is going to sleep through the night then i really dont care where she sleeps!

Oh, and she cut an incisor too. Apparently the tooth fairy disregarded my ban.

Hi all,

My little man has turned into quite a sook wanting to be near mummy all the time, and I have to say after his previous independent phase I'm loving it! Although it's hard to try and cook dinner when you have a sooky lala climbing up your legs (and biting them!), I'm scared I'm going to knock him down and tread on him

Jethro also slept through from 6.30 to 5.40 last night (then had some milk and went back down till 7) which is the first time in aaaaaaages, I'm loving that too. Hopefully we might get a bit of a break from sickness and teething, and actually catch up on some solid blocks of sleep!

I might have spoken too soon about walking because last night Jet wanted to walk everywhere (holding my hands ) it was very cute. He freaked out every time I let go though!

Re: immunity. I rarely get sick myself and BF Jet till 8 months hoping that it would make him more immune, but I think that 4 days a week in daycare at his age is just too much for any booby-immunity I gave him. He was never sick till he started there, now every time he gets over a virus he catches a new one. Does it make me feel guilty? hell yes! Mind you DH has had the flu twice this year, so I'm sure he's partially responsible for infecting Jet, with his gross 'coughing without covering his mouth' behaviour! grrrr.

lesley - that's awesome news about Montanah! Bet you feel like celebrating today :)

sue - bah, honeymoons are overrated, I've been on two now and in all honesty they weren't any better than a normal holiday. Mind you looking back it was a luxury to be travelling without kids!

michelle - LOL at the change room stares. I've never actually been in a public change room at the same time as anyone else, believe it or not! I wonder what they'd think of Jet grabbing his willy as soon as the nappy comes off . But yes I do the same routine as at home, and I also put Jet's pants on his head...doesn't everyone?!

Bec - yuck a 5am battle of the wills, just what you don't need! Jet pushes my buttons too. Imagine what they'll be like when they're 2! (Sare I feel for you LOL). Jet doesn't eat a lot either, and he's not breastfed any more, but he is having at least 4 x 150ml bottles a day. I'm not too worried though as he weighs about 11.5kg now!

Georgia - Bread and Butter Pud for breakfast, now that's a brilliant idea! I couldn't have gone past that either. And yes I will pull my finger out soon and email everyone to organise a Mum and Bubs catchup. Otherwise you and I can catch up closer to home any time...

I have home made spag bog for lunch today YUMMO. Is anyone else feeding their bub stuff like this yet? I wasn't sure whether it would be too rich/ salty/ oniony for Jet...and it's hard to find things like spaghetti sauce that don't have heaps of preservatives and additives in them, grrr.

Hi all.

Still sick in this house. but I have decided I am going to have an opera singer in this house. He spends all day zooming around the house in his walker yelling (and I mean yelling!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) oooohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh aieeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee. My ears are ringing today like even I can't believe. My god something so small but boy does he have a voice. And he can hold a note....

All the baby groovers out there will be dancing to his fine voice ( I think heavy metal might suit better now that I think about it) when they get older.

Glad the tests came back well lesley. I know it may not help completely but at least poor little montanah doesn't need anything done there.

 michelle on the whole poo routine. We have a little "you smell like poo" song. I do my best to sing it no matter where I am. I am such a talented song writer ha ha.

Hope everyone else is picking up and starting to feel better.

:hugs: & to all

Hi girls,

Well we're back ... thank goodness. Being stuck on a mountain with 2 sick kids while your dh is off skiing and snowboarding is not much fun. A supposed 5 hr car trip (that was more like 6.5hrs) is even less fun. And do you know what decreases the amount of fun even further? FInding out that your almost 3 year old suffers from car sickness when travelling on exceptionally windy roads. :( Can you guess that I am glad to be home?

Eloise liked the snow, but it was just too hard to go out and play with her, having Lara too, so we ended up staying inside most of the time.

Both of the girls are still snotty. I need to take out shares in kleenex, with the amount of tissues that we are going through. Lara is eating some solids, but it's such a battle with her. She refuses fingerfoods and only wants to eat rice cereal, yoghurt and fruit. I just keep on offering it in the hope that she will take it.

I better go and do some washing and cleaning, but I will try to get back on later to do some personals.

:hair: have just been up since 5 having a screaming match with Ella trying to get her back to sleep.

We had one of those is our house too bec this morning. Nedd needed a nappy change at 4am, and refused to go back to sleep so after an hour of crying I relented and gave him a bottle.

I like to confuse Abbey by being completely unpredictable, and it entertains me too. Wonder how much her therapy bills will amount to when she is grown?

My guess is she'll probably be the most well adjusted kid going round!!

I dont understand how a man can have a baby with a woman, both of whom he loves very much, but not actually say the words "will you marry me". You cant have committment issues if you are happily committed!

I have a good friend whose parents broke up quite messily when he was young- he is now happily settled with a partner, twin girls, and a mortgage- yet won't get married to his partner cause of his childhood- It frustrates his gf no end as she can't understanf how he can commit to kids and a mortgage but not a wedding

Eg, for a poo, I put her pants on my head and shake so the legs are bunny ears, peel down her nappy and screech "ew poo yuck" a couple times, before singing nonsense about being rude while cleaning up.

 All I can say!!! Wish I had a funny bone in my body- Nedd must find me so boring!!!

Great news on abbey sleeping to, give her big claps from bubhub girls!!

hey just wanted to let you all know we got the phone call this morning and montanah`s kidney is working fine have an appointment on the 29th....

Great news Lesley!

Sare- nice to have you back, DH may still go to snow but I have decided not to, no point when I have nedd so won't be able to enjoy it.

Kimba- How sweet that Jet is cuddly! Nedd is like that too at the moment also after being mr independent and I am loving it too. He is learning though that kitchen is out of bounds when mum is cooking- I am paranoid bout dropping something hot on him.

I am off to Syd tonight for two night/days for a sales meeting for work and not taking laptop- so I will be back to say hi over the weekend.

I have been busy writing out instructions, packing food for meals into portions, packing clothes for each day for Nedd. Mum has him tonight and Lloyd has him tomorrow night. You'd think i'm gone for a month the way I have had to organise everyone (though truth be known they'd probably be just fine without it- I just like to feel needed and missed!!)

I will miss my little man like crazy- but I leave 6.30 tonight and get back bout 7pm fri so its almost like only one full evening away.

On that note- take care everyone

Mornin everyone.....

Wow, how exciting for me coming on here twice in a couple of days...WOOHOO

Bec - I agree with not settling for a house your not happy with. It will irk you no end if you buy something your not happy with. One of the reasons we built was exactly that reason, we just couldnt find something that suited us.

Beck - Thanks for making me feel better about Darc not crawling, I just read about all our october bubbas on the move and wish she was one of them. So you up for a melb meet before you head interstate. I know your probably gunna be busy getting things organised so no pressure. I will send a pm with some dates.

Lesley - Hope your mum has a lovely time in Scotland. Good luck with going back to work. Its hard enough with 1 child let alone 4.!!! So glad to hear Montannah's kidneys are functioning fine. Great news:yelclap:

Sal - I am the same as you with getting things organised for Darc. You would think my mum and DP are totaly useless the way I get things ready. I guess I like to feel as though I am doing something even when I dont have her. IYKWIM. Glad to hear Nedd is over his sickness.

Kimba - Happy to hear Jet is becoming well again. How cute on rock and rolling with your DH. I think Jet will be walking soooooo soon. He seems to have such drive ( unlike my little poohead ). RE Spag bog. I make up Darc's seperate to ours no onion or garlic or salt, I do add red kidney beans to hers and she loves loves loves it.

Georgia - Glad to hear you had a lovely time in Daylesford. Sorry I didnt get to meet you and the beautiful Sophia. I was the same with baby names, I am still finding lists now stashed everywhere....9 months on.

Michelle - Happy to hear Abbey slept through for 2 nights in a row. My DP proposed 2 ago and still not married. :shame: ..............I am good enough to have his baby though...hhhmmmmm......( dont get me started) Thinking I might have to be more fun at change times, usually i am too busy trying not to throw up from smell.....

Sue - I would like to be married because I HATE the fact that MY daughter has a different surname to her MOTHER. This is a very touchy subject in our household. Even the dog got sent out his reminder from the vet with DP's surname..........

Di - Will have to remember Adam's talents as a future opera singer and keep an eye out for him..... Hope your house starts to feel better soon.

Sare - Sorry to hear your snow trip wasnt as great as it shoulda been. Poor little Eloise with her car sickness. Hope the girls start to feel better soon.

Well I have had a very busy few days off. I done 4 big cook ups for Darc so I wont have to for about a month. All my washing is up to date and ironed and the house is pretty clean. Makes me feel better!!
I am going shopping with my mum today to buy a dress. I am going to the QANTAS ball on the 1st september and have nothing suitable in my wardrobe. I hate clothes shopping because I am so fat everything looks so frumpy on me. So I will come home empty handed and depressed no doubt.
Ok ladies have a great day and big kisses all round.

Hi all

Jet's slept through 3 nights in a row  I'd love to think he's back into the habit! but for sure something will disrupt it soon

He seemed to like my spag bog, but it was hard to tell because lately every dinner time is a battle between him whinging and flapping and trying to squirm out of his seat, and me trying to feed him his dinner. I think it's not so much that he doesn't like the food, as the fact that he's rebelling against being confined to his highchair. Either way, it drives me nuts!

happybirthday 10 months montanah!

I would like to be married because I HATE the fact that MY daughter has a different surname to her MOTHER. This is a very touchy subject in our household. Even the dog got sent out his reminder from the vet with DP's surname..........

I understand where you're coming from. The only reason I changed my name when I got married was so that we'd all have the same surname. If I wasn't already married to my DH, I would have insisted that my baby had MY surname. If he wanted the baby to have his surname, then he could marry me! I don't understand why some guys are willing to commit to children and mortgages and yet a piece of paper freaks them out. To me, getting a mortgage together and then having a baby was a much more drastic commitment than marrying the partner I already shared my life with.

Oops gotta go my boss is calling :banghead: BBL for more personals...

Hi girls,

Can some one please tell the sickness fairy to leave my house NOW (she's not listening to me!!!) Lara has been vomitting all day. She isn't even keeping her breast feeds down. Not sure if it's related to the throat infection from last week, or some new bug introduced into our house, so we're off to the drs at 6pm. It's now been almost 2.5 months where there has been at least one of us here not 100%. I'm so sick of having to deal with sickness.

Kimba - :yelclap: for Jet sleeping through again. 3 times, according to my MCHN, is a habit.

Lesley - Happy 10 months to Montanah. Great news about her kidney functioning properly too.

Mary-anne - Hope the dress shopping went well. You sure like to keep yourself busy on your days off. Your freezer stash of baby food would put mine to shame

Sal - Hope you have a safe and fruitful trip. My dh sounds like yours, he always says that Lara gets upset when I leave her with him (on the 4 or 5 times I have) . It just goes to show how much our bubbas love their mummas.

Michelle - to your ex. I bet it was very pleasing to see him so uncomfortable.

Beck - Great news about your dh's job. You must really be looking forward to moving closer to your family. We'll miss you and Kayley at our Melb meets. We'll definitely have to have one before you go.

Better go, my little poppet has just woken up. Got to go and check that she's ok.
Take care...

Kristin - eww on cleaning up vomit with ms, how awful. How many weeks are you? Have you started thinking of names yet. Sorry to pester but I am obsessed with names and must've started at least 100 lists when i was pg!

I was 7 weeks last Tuesday, so due on the 25th of March :smiliedance: . Cleaning up a spewy bub with m/s is bearable, when you compare it to having the flu and then being woken 3-4-5 times a night with a flu-ridden 10 month old who wants her 'mumumumumumumummmmmm'. I'm soooo tired!!

No baby names yet, although we still like Isaac Drew for a boy as we had that picked for Isabella Grace, but I do love Geneva for a girl  . We are going to find out the sex this time, to help plan things a bit better. Have you got any great names you care to share Georgia? ;)

~Kimba~

Success! Tonight I fed Jet sitting on the floor in the kitchen while he played and cruised and climbed all over me. He had a lean beef sausage (fed himself in little pieces) and mashed cauli and potato (which he hasn't previously liked), and a bit of broccoli. And he ate the lot! seems our dinner dramas of late are purely him not wanting to interrupt playtime and be strapped into a chair. Not that I really want to get him into a habit of eating this way, but at least I know it's not the food that's the problem!

Kristin - Isaac is cute, you'd have 2 little Izzy's then! LOL. I like Geneva . I also like Ruby, Roxanna, Clare, Cate and Jess for girls, and I love Aiden and Jasper for boys, but DH doesn't. Our next bubba will be Elijah if a boy, and Aishah Joy (or Aishah Jess) if a girl...at this stage anyway!

Sare - you poor thing, I'm over sickness too and I only have one sick bubba, I can't imagine having two. I really hope that everyone in your house is well soon :wizard:

Way to go kimba. I admit some days I chase Adam around the house while he is in his walker and get a spoonful in whenever I can  . Generally he is pretty good but I have to have a bowl of food in front of me when I'm feeding him. If he thinks he is getting my breakky/lunch he will eat like mad. Bugger these smart kids!!!!!!!!!!

Sue : how dare you ditch us to cook tea. We demand better of you :D

Sare: I'll send some soup and casserole over. It seems to have worked in this house for now....hope it stays that way. (maybe our visitors will take all of our germs home with them-gee I'm a nasty hostess)

Well little Mr Magoo is actually crawling like a real baby at the moment. He has decided when the tiles are cold it isn't always best to seal flop around the house...

We had a little win today. Apparently when I did our centrelink estimate last year I included FTB A & B as taxable income and neither of them are. So I said I'd earn $5000 for the year and I only earnt $2 ha ha that'll be nice when they work out how much they need to repay me...might have to celebrate lol

Well I am off before bubs wakes.

Hugs & Kisses to all

 everyone,

Hope all is good. I've caught up on personals, but now I'm off to bed. I've spent too much time doing my stupid tax and haven't left enough time to play on the hub.
I'll be back in tomorrow for a catch up!

Hey All

Di - yay on the tax!! We are gong to get a little bit back (did mine online last week) but it is already gone on Kayleys photos - retrospectively I wish we didn't spend as much as we did but oh well too late now!!

Sare - you poor thing with all the sickness - you do deserve a break. It appears some sort of viral thing is going around at the moment (possibly german measles) so I am hoping that misses us - I skipped mothers group just in case (and for the fact I was buggered from painting our verandah and another wall in the house).

Yes I have been the handyman this week - fixing up a few little things ready to get someone out to look at the house. I have been running around singing "Handy Beccy" with some strange looks from DH.

Mary-Anne - you seem to be going so well now! I think a large part of me is ready to go back to work but there is still a part which is hesitant. The good news is I told my work I am not coming back and I am moving on Monday and on Tuesday they said they are 90% they will be creating a position for me in Adelaide. Will be 3 days per week (slightly more than I wanted) and I will go down a grade as the office is so much smaller but this is good news. Especially as my long service has now run out and we will be getting only DH's wage now (will take a little getting accustomed too) - his new job will pay more than this one though so it is just temporary - I just HATE having to tough any of our savings.

Kimba - yay on the feeding - I hoppe that doesn't become a habit though!!! Aiden was one of my boy names too but I am not so sure anymore.

Kristin - cute names - I love Isaac - it is just so cute and different!

Oh and Happy 10 months Montannah - 10 months already WOW these bubs are getting old.

Mary-Anne - I do agree about the last name thing. It is one of the main reasons I wanted to get married. I did love our wedding day but I do think you can waste a lot of money one them. We also only went for a little honeymoon as we wanted to use money on our hosue instead and I was happy with that!

Sue - I agree abou the late crawlers. Just looking at the previous generation, my DH's cousin was a very early crawler and walker and he is not athletic whatsoever thses days. DH and his sister were averageish and they were very sporty and coordinated. so I don't think it means too much in the end. In my family all of us crawled around the same time with varying sporting abilities now. So I don't think it means too much in the end.

Sal & Bec - sorry about the bad nights. Kayley is still getting a feed twice a night (those once a nights were few and far between) but I am starting to try to drag them out again. Pity I think her no 8 tooth is about to pop and is not helping either. Last night we were up for 1 settle and 2 feeds (one after a failed settle) - hmmmmmm - she is a great eater though!!!

I have decided I do love this age! Kayley is becoming more inderpendant (for a few minutes here and there anyway) - she is enjoying being able to move around and play with things she wants and is just so damn cute!! She spent 15 minutes chasing the cat yesterday - it was sooo funny!!

Oh well I have rambled more than enough. I better run.

All the best to everyone.

I knew sleeping through 3 nights in a row was too good to be true, Jet woke at 9.30, 11 and 12.45 last night. He never sticks to a pattern for more than a few days. At least he didn't stir then until 6.15 so I got about 5 hours in a row...

His carer was telling DH yesterday how Jet is her favourite of all the kids because he hardly ever cries, eats and sleeps well and really tries hard to do the things he wants to do (like crawl, cruise etc) and that she just 'loves' him. I bet she says that to all the parents LOL but it's still nice to hear that she really seems to care about him.

Tonight my RL mum's group is going out for dinner and drinks, so that will be good - first time I'll have left Jet at home with DH for the night, usually it's the other way round! I'll put Jet to bed before I go, hopefully all DH will need to do is a feed or resettle (or nothing, if he's lucky!)

Beck - I wish I hadn't spent so much on Jet's photos too but it's done now and they are lovely so...it's only money I guess. This age is definitely great, really makes me wish I was home with Jet more...

Di - yep these bubs are too smart for their own good! But we wouldn't have it any other way would we...nice one on the tax, I'm still waiting on one more thing to be sent through and then I'll be doing ours. Hoping I'll get a nice lump sum but not holding my breath...

Better go. I'm meeting Georgia and Sal for lunch today so that will be fun!

yeah i got a job. well sortof. lol
i dont know if any of you read thats life or take 5 but in the mag a week or 2 ago was an article called motivated mums about a lady who wanted to work around her children. she looked into delivering pamphlets but new the money was about 20 bucks per 1000 leaflet drops. so she developed her own company called motivated mums. i noticed she is fairly local so i googled her business and we been emailing each other and are meeting wen i get back from riverton. i will have the whole north of the gold coast to start with as she hasnt branched up here yet. its 100 bucks per 1000 and its only 1 or 2 leaflets at once so no folding involved. seeing as i walk everyday anyway it will be good to earn some dosh for it
better go, jakes got a science show at school

Breaking News!! My little boy has finally got his first tooth through!! I'm positive it's here this time  About time I say! Oh, and he's finally starting to pull himself up. He's only getting up onto his knees at this stage, but at least he's doing it!!
He has started waking twice during the night and it's driving me crazy. I'm so so tired . He doesn't need to be fede during the night, but it's the only way he'll go back to sleep. I'll have to try and be strong tonight perhaps and not feed him.
I've had sick children again in my house. I had to take Tallan to the Dr on Wednesday as his cough had got really bad agian, and he spent Monday night vomiting. His temp was raging also. It turns out the poor little fella had raging ear infections!! No wonder he was so unwell. I feel terrible as I didn't even think of that. It's only the second time he's had an ear infection, so I guess I didn't even give it a thought. He's on antibiotics now and he's already on the mend. Now to just try and fix that terrible behaviour he's been displaying lately! Does anyone know if there's any antibiotics out there for that? Lol!
Jarvis had his first visit to the creche yesterday. He handled it well - he slept for most of it, lol! I only left him for about 1.5hrs whilst I was in the gym. It's made me feel a little better about doing it again.

It's so blowy here today....my front gates were blown open by the wind

Sue: Your job sounds great! It's good to have been able to find something to coincide with something you're already doing.

Kimba: That's so sweet that Jet's carer said those things about him. It's nice to hear isn't it? Makes us feel pretty good too, hey? Your night out sounds like fun. I went out with a group of mums on Tuesday night to Bingo. Loved it, but didn't win! I hope you've enjoyed your meet up with Georgia and Sal.

Sal: Have a great time catching up with Georgia and Kimba - before you know it, you'll have met each one of us personally!!

Beck: Sounds like you've been busy! I love doing little things around the house like that.

Di: Yay on your tax win!! DH received a great big sum of cash from the tax dept this year too which was nice for a change! The last couple of years, he has owed them!

Sare: Bummer about the car sickness! I used to get car sick as a child, but thankfully, my kids don't seem to. Well, not just yet anyway! Sorry your time at the snow wasn't as you would have liked it.

Mary-Anne: Sounds like you're feeling better about the working thing. I hear what you're saying about having the same surname as your children. DH and I got married just before DS2 turned 1, so I'd had to battle through a couple of years being 'different' to them.

Lesley/Montannah: Happy 10 months!!

The kids are at me once again, so I'd best be off.
Have a good day,
Sarah

Hi girls,

One tired mummy here today. I didn't get to sleep until midnightish and then was up for 2hrs with Lara at 4am. She was up vomitting and just wouldn't settle. We went to the drs last night and it was the throat infection that either hadn't cleared up or returned super quickly. So she is now on stronger antibiotics for 10 days (instead of 5 like last time). My poor little sausage.

Sue - :smiliedance: Congratulations on the job. I read that article in That's Life. A great idea.

Kimba - Have a great time tonight. What does RL stand for?

Di - Great news about the tax return. We got ours back and have booked the flights for a holiday to Nth Qld and the Gold Coast for a week each in Feb with it... can't wait for a holiday.

Kristin - I can imagine cleaning spew while having m/s would be horrible. How are you coping with changing Isabella's dirty nappies? They are what got to me the worst when I was pg with Lara... I used to put a peg on my nose while changing Eloise. Nice name choices. I love Isaac. For #3 we've abandoned Zachary and are leaning towards Benjamin . Girls are so much more difficult, I like Bridget, Amelia, Josephine (Josie), Bethany, Felicity and Jemma. Have fun chosing your names.

Beck - That's great news about your work creating a role for you in SA. I agree with you on this age being great. They're just so cute. I love the look Lara gets when she tries something new, she jusy looks so proud of herself. Oh and she has a fascination for our cat too.

I went to see the MCHN about Eloise and the problems we are having with her TTing. She seemed to think it was behavioural. Eloise seems to respect authority figures telling her what to do (she cries if we forget to floss her teeth at night, because Dr Maria told her that she had to floss last week at her dental appointment), so the MCHN had a chat to her about how she should be going to the toilet now. If that fails to work, then she suggested putting her back in nappies for a few weeks, until she realises this is no fun and if all else fails there are experts out there that deal with toilet training (:smiliedance: ). :fingerscrossed: that the MCHN's little chat with Eloise will be all that is needed.

Well better go and do dome more house cleaning. Take care...

Ah, my little baby is officially a little girl. Its a momentous day when mummy shoves daughter back with her foot and says "Bl00dy h$ll kid, GET OUT!"

Course, I was only trying to clean the loo, and she was only trying to see why mummy was so engrossed with it.. She didnt even care that i was telling her off, she was too busy trying to find a way around my foot!

She's sitting behind me (naked) now emptying the nappy drawer. I just raked the contents back into it from the rooms she carries them off to.

I wonder what she will be like as a toddler. or:devil6: ....

Last night she came into my bed at 2am and didnt really want to continue sleeping, but squiggled around and snuggled and played. And then sat up and said "hello". Clear as day! Sure she hears it a lot, but what about 'mummy'? It was actually really weird hearing a word come out of her mouth, like she was possessed or something.

Sarah - yay on the tooth...now comes the biting!

Sue - good news on getting paid to do what you do anyway, and good money for it too. A friend did it but it worked out to about $4/hour, so you've scored well there. Just dont deliver me any of the pesky free community newspapers. I can leave them out there for ages, piling up, and the deliverers still wont take the hint. I could put up a sign saying no newspapers, but then i'd be declaring myself anti-community.

Kimba - does (did) Jet eat ALL his meals in his chair? Abbey only eats dinner in hers, and even then its always finger food. She's just too busy to stay still and get fed by mummy. I'm considering installing a trough...

Ok, naked girl is no doubt preparing to pee, and I just mopped the floors. I have family coming tomorrow so i better go clean this sty some more.

Lunch with the girls was great. I wish we'd been able to sit there all afternoon by the harbour, with a couple of bottles of wine. Shame we had to return to work. Sal is utterly lovely, as I expected! was so good to meet another one of my BubHub buddies.

Sare - gosh Lara is having a rough trot. I hope the stronger antibiotics do the trick. 'RL' is 'real life' :) You guys are my online mums group, and I have a 'real life' group as well. Not that you guys aren't real, and I actually feel like I know you guys better than the others, after all we talk every day on here.

Michelle - LOL at naked Abbey. Jet would love to run around naked all day too, he hates having his nappy put back on. shame it's too cold at the moment.

Kimba - does (did) Jet eat ALL his meals in his chair? Abbey only eats dinner in hers, and even then its always finger food. She's just too busy to stay still and get fed by mummy. I'm considering installing a trough...

I have no idea what his carer does with him! but when he's at home yes he did have all his meals in his chair. Breakfast is usually no drama at all, lunch is usually OK if it's quick, and dinner is a battle. A trough sounds like a great idea to me...:detective:

Sarah - congrats on Jarvis' tooth! he's really going to look like a little boy now. Maybe Tallan has been a bit of a terror because his ears were sore/ he's felt unwell, you never know maybe those antibiotics WILL help his behaviour too :fingerscrossed:

Sue - nice one on the job, hope it works out for you...

I have an Ella on my knee so don't know how long I'll be here...

She slept right through for the first time this week, from 7.35 to 6.10. A momentous occasion for us!

I've had a crappy week at work, really glad it's over. SO tired of dealing with pushy idiots!

Kimba how good are boozy lunches on the harbour (or anywhere for that matter), I only had a couple but they were great - very cosmopolitan occasion for a bushie like me! :p Glad you managed to jam some food into Jet. Ella goes through phases like that too, but then she'll realise she can eat quicker if she lets me feed her... it's vastly improved now we all sit down to eat together. Daddy keeps her amused! Also sympathy for the erratic sleep - IKWYM!

Michelle, I think it's a sign that you just shouldn't clean the loo. Lol at the posessed baby - I keep dreaming that Ella's talking to me and it's just like that! We give Ella nude bottom time every evening between dinner and shower - since we realised pee doesn't stain, I must say the care factor has dropped sharply...

Sare, poor Lara and her tired mummy. :fingerscrossed: the stern words from your nurse work! that's funny about the teeth flossing. Just need her to see mummy as an authority figure too! (can't see that ever happening at our house)

hey Sarah congratulations on Jarvis's toothy! Poor tallan with his ear infection. Maybe he's been acting up cos he's in pain and will get better when he's over it? (here's hoping for you anyway!)

Sue congrats on the job, great idea to do something that fits neatly into your life!

Beck - is that Handy Beccy in the style of handy Manny? Do you throw in the bits of spanish too? (can't tell we spend a bit of time in front of Playhouse Disney :o ) Yeah this age is super cute. But I seem to think that most months!

Better go before this turns into more of a monster post. I'm so good at those!

wow super quiet in here...hope this means everyone is busy enjoying their weekend and not dealing with sick kids or dramas...

I didn't make it to drinks last night. Was feeling knackered after work so I had a glass of bubbly at home to pick me up while getting dinner and putting baby to bed...but it just made me even more tired, so I decided to have an early night and went to bed at 8 instead. Jet obligingly only woke once last night (11.15, I was SOUND asleep) and also went back to sleep for an hour this morning after having a feed at 6am, which was nice. I was hoping he'd sleep till 8, but that would have been pushing it!

Jet walked right across the room today pushing his little toddle-truck/ walker-wagon thing. First time he's ever used it like that (till now he's been a bit scared of it, or just climbed on it instead) so I was amazed. Of course when I got the video camera out, he wouldn't do it again...He also had his first bloody nose today :crying: after falling flat on his face when being over ambitious to climb something. Only a teeny tiny speck of blood, but that was enough for me! god help me if/when he really hurts himself...

My H is being a jerk today (no way am I calling him DH!) and picking fights over absolutely nothing. And then blaming me! I really hate it when he gets like this, it's so childish and unnecessary.

Bec - yay on Ella sleeping through isn't it the best. If only there was some way to keep them doing it consistently...Boozy harbourside lunches are about the only good thing about working in the CBD :)
I wish our lunch yest had been boozy, unfortunately we all had to return to work so it was mineral water all round...I was just WISHING we could have sat there with a couple of bottles of vino...maybe next time hey Sal!

Howdy all

It's official my seal baby can CRAWL LIKE A REAL BABY. He has been doing a little bit of hands and knees for the last week but as of yesterday our tummy DOES NOT touch the ground at all.

Trouble is now he thinks pulling himself up on everything and everyone is pretty cool. Wouldn't you reckon he could be happy with one thing at a time lol.

Hey Bec : Between Handy Manny and Little Einsteins our babies will not only be bilingual but super clever

I hope everyone is doing super well. I have a night off from visitors as they are staying with some friends tonight. :smiliedance: for me.

Hugs & Kisses to all

Hello Ladies

I am SO hungover!!! We have had a busy time here over the last few days.

Wed night headed to sydney for work, got home Fri evening- was great to get a chance to meet Kimba, and catch up again with Georgia (twice in one week- how cool is that!)- yes it would have been nice to sit all afternoon Sydney weather is so much more enticing than victorian at the moment!

I am now making it my mission to meet every one of you at some stage- I travel enough to be able to do it at the moment!!!

Sat DH's sister and her GF came to stay- met them at the footy to watch lloyd, then last night mum babysat for a few hours whilst we went out for tea...then came home and had drinks till 1.30am, not pretty this morning :barf:

Nedd is being great- I missed him like crazy for the time I was away, and he was super cuddly sat morning- it was really cute...He is consistently waking just once during the night- so I am happy with that, now we just need to get his wake up time sorted, it can be anywhere from 6am to 7.30am- i wish it was consistent!!!

I am off to Gippsland this arvo (4hr drive)- I am working down there till wed, and since the inlaws live there Nedd is coming with me to have some time with the MIL, she is very excited.

I have read all the posts, and a quick shout out to:

Sue on the new job
Jet yay for walking, clever boy
Ella yay for sleeping through, clever girl!
Abbey for being possessed- yay on the word, don't you love it when they say something like that!
Adam on the crawling.:smiliedance:

Sare/Sarah on the sick kids, hope they are all better soon:hugs:

And a  to anyone I have missed!

Well best be off and clear up some empty wine bottles and think about breakkie!

Hi All

Bec - Yes it was Handy Manny that I was basing myself on - pity the spanish needs a bit of work!! THey also might commit me if I don't stop talking to my tools (pesky buggers aren't as helpful as manny's - maybe the spanish is the trick!!).

Di - yes I like that bilingual and super clever comment - makes me feel better for her being in front of the TV. She does LOVE Mickey Mouse, Ollie and Jacks Big Music Show so I am not sure what that means - annoying and musical???

Well we did some major cleaning yesterday and it is on for today again. You know when you clean normally but a bit of clutter builds up (mainly in the cupboards where it isn't seen) - well that is all coming out at the moment and we are packing som non-essentials. We have carpet cleaners coming tomorrow so I have to finsih the study today (THE clutter room - the problem wiht having big cupboards which hide your sins) and we have some plants and mulch being delivered this morning to neaten up the yard - so yay for us.....good thing is Kayley slept pretty good last night (resettle at 11.30, feed at 1.30 and 6am, up at 7). Hey what time do all of you put your bubs to bed??? I know most of the sleeping lierature suggests an early bedtime but I want Kayley to fit in with us and 8pm works with us. I am wondering if we made it 7 would it improve things (albeit in the past an early bedtime HAS meant early up although they say that doesn't happen) and with this time we have time to have tea together and it will work when I am back at work as well. Hmmmmm - to many decisions I tell you.

Di - yay on the graduation from seal to real baby......Kayley is more than happy to continue being a seal - it fits in with her swimming lessons when she 'seals' across the mat. The instructor asked if that is how she crawls at home (no it is just when she is areound water - what do you think - duh).

Anyway - it does not stop her pulling herself up on things. She has stood up in the bath the last couple of nights and can pull up on the couch if she starts on her fold out seat (a little higher than the ground).

Kimba - the walking is coming there!!! I don't know if I mentioned we have a walker in mothers group. The early crawler has been wlaking for about 2 weeks now (only little bursts but getting there) - at swimming he got up on the mat himself and walked to the edge. I think this is pretty amazing since he started at 8.5 months!!! Hmm the cometition is on and Kayley is not interested whatsoever!!!

Well ramble ramebl ramble me - you can tell I don't want to go back to these cupboards!!!

Have a good weekend all.

Hey Bec : Between Handy Manny and Little Einsteins our babies will not only be bilingual but super clever

Time just published an article stating that babies who watched videos like these knew 10 fewer words than babies who didnt watch any. The research was of course done by men who dont stay home all day wondering when they can sneak away to the shower!
I've decided the "10 fewer words" abbey knows can be swear words and modern euphemisms. She will know the essential words - mine, give, get, more, nummy, and of course, NO!

Kids came yesterday and demolished my clean house. Now i have more people coming this morning who will expect their own level of clean. Since they are the enemy i will of course make the house sparkly again. Kids are coming back later this arvo and I would have left their mess otherwise. Grotty little buggers.

Abbey hasnt been sleeping though any more, but she has been sleeping mostly well. She's been skipping her afternoon nap and going to bed early, but staying there for up to 3 hours leaving mummy all alone. Its very odd. I expect complaints half hourly and wonder if the baby monitor is broken.
last night she was sad and whimpering in her sleep for ages though, until i took her to bed and snuggled her and whispered mummyish things.

yay Adam on the crawling and Jet on the assisted walking. I still think we should have a national meetup and race the babies. We could have a walker division, crawler division, and slug division. Then a wheelbarrow race where the walkers push the slugs along.

I had my SIL over yesterday for a photo session, trying to get some nice pics for my website, and of courase all Abbey wanted to do was eat grass. Mummy was flinging herself around the backyard, yelling insane things, being a playschool presenter on speed, and getting ignored. Couldnt even elicit a little smile. How insulting is that?

Hi all  ,

Sorry it's been so long. I have been keeping up with you but have been 'ghosting'. I have been feeling really down and stressed out and haven't felt like posting. I won't bore you with the details; just too much on my plate I think.

Sammy is almost doing a real crawl and has been all over the house. I'm still smitten with him but don't think I could cope with another - not at the moment anyhow. DH, whilst a great guy and adoring father, is not terribly helpful around the house and garden. Our half-renovated house is starting to really work my nerves.

Snap on the cranky DH's.....

will post sometime again when I am not so darned moody! :D

Who has taken my baby and swapped it for this clingy bubba, who cries the second her mummy is not with grabbing distance?

Last night was a shocker. Lara was up at 10pm and then 1.15am until 5.30am straight  Silly me didn't go to bed until 12.30am and then did sudokus before falling asleep around 1am. So guess who got no sleep last night  Not sure what's going on with her. She is crying when dh holds her, as she just wants mummy. She's as happy as Larry when I'm cuddling her, but the second I put her down to do something we have full on wailing. :fingerscrossed: Last night was just a once off.

I'm too tired to do personals. I will try to hop on tomorrow and do them.

Take care....

 everyone,
It seems there are still some sick bubbas out there! Little Jarvis is now coughing away again, and his eyes are so swollen and red looking. He really does look miserable! he has vomited up his meals three times since last night, and didn't even really want his dinner tonight - not like him at all. I only offered one boob tonight because I want him to keep something in his little tum.

He has however, been a very clever little boy today!! He has finally pulled himself up into a stand! I was so excited...we all were actually!! He's almost 10 months old and he's only just doing this now! Tallan was walking totally unassisted by 11 months. Looks like Jarvis will be a little later. Better for me I guess, lol!

We've been out all day today at my cousins husbands 30th. Gee they have lots of friends, lol! I don't know how they can keep up with them all, although they don't have any children yet, so maybe it will change when that happens, lol. I filled myself up on white chocolate mudcake, and lemon cheesecake :shame: I'm just like a kid when it comes to sweets!

Sare: Big hugs for you and lara. She really does sound miserable doesn't she? Jarvis is going through this too atm, and it really is hard. I feel for you getting no sleep last night....you must be a walking zombie today! I got only 3 -4 hours and I feel tired enough. I hope she's on the mend really soon.

Jen: Good to hear from you. It sounds like you need a mummy holiday? You should book yourself in for a massage or something....have some chill time for yourself. It sounds like it would do you the world of good. Cheer up, and take care :hugs:

Michelle: Hmmm, kids and mess!! I sometimes wonder why I bother cleaning up at all sometimes, lol!! It's like that here everyday, then I run around at night like a stupid headless chook packing it all away, only for the boys to get up the next day and demolish it all once again, lol!

Beck: Sounds like you are getting a lot done. It must be so exciting for you, is it? Are you going to sell your place here, or keep it and rent out? Re: Putting bubs to bed. I put jarvis down for the night anywhere between 6.00pm and 6.30pm normally. He has been waking at least twice more recently (which I'm not happy about!!), and then he will wake anywhere between 6.30am and 7.00am - well, that's when I hear him anyway, lol!

Sal: Do you ever stop girl?? You are always off somewhere, or doing something, or travelling around the country side with work!! You sure sound very busy. I hope Nedd enjoys the time with the family over the next couple days.

Di: YAY for Adam and his hands and knees crawling!! I have been watching Jarvis like a hawk everytime he gets up there, but no. He flops himself back down and continues with his sealness, lol!

Kimba: Bigf YAY for Jet and his walking!! What a clever boy. He must have looked so cute. I saw a little boy today, not yet one, and he was walking around. He just looked so cute waddling around. Jet will be getting around by himself before you know it!

Bec: Ella sounds like she's been a clever girl too, sleeping right through the night!! I'm hoping for you that this week is better for you than last week.

I'll be off now, Grey's is on very soon and my travelling friend has just called. Have a good night.

Morning girls,

Well it was another shocker here last night. The stupid snow trip has made my ok sleeper a right royal pain in the a$$. As there were other people with us at the snow, I got up to Lara everytime she even whimpered because I didn't want her to wake the others... well now she expects it all the time and it has to be mummy, daddy just won't cut it. Last night I at least managed about 4 hrs of broken sleep. I didn't realise how good I had it with Eloise, she was a great sleeper right from the start and I just presumed that was the norm. Boy was I wrong!!! dh is about as much use as a wet blanket. He tries to help but she screams all the more for mummy and then yells at her when she won't settle. He really pi$$ed me off this morning. I ended up on the couch with Lara from 4am, he trots on down at 7am saying "Sarah what are you doing here? Why didn't you come back to bed" acting all concerned; mind you he had already showered, ironed his work clothes and dressed before checking if I was ok, needed help or a break. I swear I could have throttled him :hair: .

While I'm having a whinge about my little :devil6:, does anyone else have a baby who is pretty much refusing solid foods? I keep on saying that she'll get there, but after 3 months all that she eats is rice cereal (only the mango and apple flavoured one), yoghurt and tinned fruit. I battle feeding her meat and veg mixes (by mixing it with yoghurt or fruit), but she often just leaves it sitting in her mouth for ages before spitting it out or reluctantly eating a little. She flat out refuses finger food (even when I feed her them). I don't know what to do with her/where to go next.

Hopefully the day gets better from here...

Sarah - I hope Jarvis is ok and that you are too. Yay to him for standing up all by himself. I'm so with you on the sweets... chocolate has become my friend again.

Jen - Good to hear from you. Sorry to hear that you are having a rough trot still. If it's any consolation, we've lived in our house for 5 yrs now and still don't have a garden (front or back). Dh wants to do it all himself, which is all good in theory, I just don't know when he'll find the time.

Michelle - Bad luck about not getting Abbet to smile for the photos. I bet there were some good ones in there though.

Beck - Lara's usually in bed at 8.30pm, because for some stupid reason she has decided to have a short nap in the morning and a longer one in the afternoon, which means she's not tired until later. bedtimes have been irrelevant for us in the last week anyway, she just wakes up after being put down and screams for cuddles from mummy.

Sal - Hope you have a lovely time with the ILs.

:yelclap: to Ella for sleeping through, Adam for crawling and Jett for getting oh so close to walking.

Better go and get these girls ready (and see if I can put Lara down for her nap without the squawking for mummy :fingerscrossed: )

 Afternoon all,

Well, I've been at the Dr's again this morning. This time with Jarvis. My poor little baby has got an ear infection in both ears, just like Tallan, and he has also got croup AGAIN!!! He is coughing away like mad. He actually sounds like a little old man that has been smoking all his life :crying: It's really quite distressing to listen to. He's now on two different medications, and panadol in between. I feel terrible now for having him out most of the day yesterday.

Sare: Sorry to hear that last night wasn't much better for you. I'm hearing you on the DH thing! Lucky mine isn't here at the moment actually, otherwise I'd be finding myself holding a whole lot of resentment towards him!! Sometimes, I think that they think that because they are the ones getting themselves out there and going to work to support us, that they are the only ones that need their sleep! It's so hard isn't it when they are so clingy to one parent? You don't like seeing the upset if you give them over, even for a second, yet you need the little rest from it too, iykwim? I really hope she sorts herself out soon and that all is better with her.

Jarvis is awake already  He's only been down for about 1/2hr and that's all he's had today! Best go give some hugs,
Have a good day,
Sarah

Sarah - Oh poor little Jarvis. My girls have never had an ear infection, but I got them as a kid and remember how painful they were. I hope the antibiotics kick in quickly.

Just thought I'd update you on how much of a pill my poppet is... just tried to trick her with some finely cut grapes in her yoghurt. The little monkey sucked off the yoghurt and spat out the grapes. I'm going to invest in one of those mesh feeder things to see if it makes a difference.

Oh and I forgot to mention I'm also sporting a bit of a black eye. Lara headbutted me on the bone around the eye socket this morning and it's already bruised. Do you think I may have case for parental abuse?

Off to pay our 1st lot of school fees (enrolment fee)...many more years of that to come.

Hi all

Happy 10 Months to my Big Boy today!

We took Jet to the beach for the first time on Sunday because it was a beautiful 25 degree day in Sydney. He LOVED it - dug holes, ate handfuls of sand, paddled in the freezing water, chewed on some sticks and pine needles and grass (and god knows what else) up on the grassed area. Sounds like a puppy doesn't it? haha. Then we went to a BBQ where Jet wrestled and played with my friend's 6 year old son for hours. For a little guy he really plays well and loves interacting with other (even bigger) kids, I guess I can partially thank daycare for that...

Of course the payoff was a rotten sleep last night, I think it was all too much excitement for one day. At least I didn't have to work today.

We have a new favourite food to add to the list too, spinach and cheese tortellini - makes great finger food

Sare - there's a black eye in our house too, but it's Jet's not mine, from a pretty hard faceplant on Saturday. But I'm lucky not to have had one yet with the way that Jet headbutts me in the nose! I feel your pain with the bad sleeper only settling for Mum - Jet has NEVER settled for DH, only me. Re: the grapes, Lara is a smart cookie - she knows that lumps are no good! Seriously I know how frustrating it is as Jet can be very fussy at times too. I read somewhere that you have to offer the same food 10 times before they'll accept a new taste so just keep trying...Jet has surprised me and suddenly started eating things he refused before. I suppose one consolation is that you don't see any school age kids living on purees, so she will surely come around in her own time...since she likes yogurt have you tried cheese triangles or cheestiks? they're a big winner here.

Sarah - yay for Jarvis pulling up! Look out, he'll be cruising and walking before you know it. Poor bubba though, being sick, I hope he gets better soon. Jet is still hacking away with his cough (4 months later!) it's just horrible listening to them isn't it. Oh and I totally agree with you about DH, I have all that resentment too, what makes me even angrier is that I work as many hours a week as he does (for twice the money) and yet he seems to feel entitled to do nothing AND get more sleep than me. The hell??? And he wonders why I don't want to get jiggy with him - anger and exhaustion are not exactly aphrodisiacs! LOL.

Jen :hugs: sorry to hear you're having a hard time, I hope you feel brighter soon and that DH pulls his finger out!

Michelle - kids are grotty aren't they? I'm constantly amazed how much mess Jet can generate and he can't even walk yet. I don't know how people with 6 kids cope! Bummer about the photos, Jet's like that with the video camera, he freezes as soon as it comes out.

Beck - nice one on Kayley pulling up, and the cleanup! I am itching to do a big clutter cull myself but I think I'll need to take a week off work just to get on top of it all, because i want to put it all on eBay and make a few bucks...so maybe at Christmas LOL. Re: bedtime, Jet goes to bed around 6.15-6.30. In Daylight saving it was around 7.30, so he's been pretty consistent from birth.

Sal - glad that Nedd is being so good. Was great meeting you last week!

Di - congrats on Adam crawling on hands and knees, don't they look so cute when they do it!

Hi guys,

Ella stood by herself for a few seconds today & kind of jiggled up & down, it was so funny and cute! DP & I applauded when she sat down again so then she had to sit there and figure out what she did that was so impressive!

Kimba give your boy a big 10 month old cuddle for me. He sounds like such a larrikin! How funny that he was wrestling with the big 6 year old, what a brave baby!

Wow Sare, heaps of sympathy your way. :fingerscrossed: Lara settles back down again soon for you. & as for DH not being able to settle her... practice makes perfect!! lol. Just kidding though, how hard is it to stay in bed when you can hear two upset people in a battle of bedtime wills. Sucks.

Sarah, hugs to Jarvis poor little sick fella, but applause for the standing, wow! I have a recipe for white chocolate cake with choc fudge icing....mmmmm. The inlaws are visiting on the weekend (5 adults and two kids), maybe I should make a special cake for them... and make a double mix.... thanks for the good week wishes too. Started off bad this morning but improved as the day went on. I have such great colleagues, they make up for a lot.

 Jen, sorry to hear you're feeling low. Want to meet up for a coffee next weekend? (travelling to Sydney with the IL's this weekend:o )

Michelle - I'm sure half an hour of TV a day isn't stunting her vocab. I'm pretty sure DP wouldn't care anyway as it gives him a little window of opportunity to do stuff without an ankle limpet! Sounds like Abbey is getting there on the sleep too.

Sal lol at the hangover! I dimly recall what they were like. Glad you had a good time & hope the day wasn't too painful for you!

Beck we start putting Ella to bed at 7, (boobie, book, song then bed) usually she's out by 7.30. Up to about 4 months though she didn't go to sleep til 9. I'm glad she grew out of that!

see ya girls

Hi chickies,
Just a quickie as my baby is sick AGAIN:banghead: :gloomy: with a gastro type thing and I think i've slept about 2 hours since Saturday and done about 30 loads of vomit and poo linen. Sare, I know how you feel about not having a "well" household for ages.
KImba - Happy 10 months to Jet happybirthday
Jen - (((hugs))) to you love, remember we're all here for you if you need to "chat"
Bec - Yay to Ella for standing up, sounds like you'll have a walker soon!
Sarah - Hope Jarvis is feeling better soon, poor little poppet, ear infections are awful.

Just wanted to pop in and say hi and i'll see ya later.

Hi girls,

It's quiet in here again today...

Well, we are much happier here today ... Lara slept for 9 hrs straight last night. I gave her the Brauers Calm for the first time and refused to rock her to sleep and it seemed to work. She woke up just before 6am, so I fed her in our bed and she slept there until 8am. So we have all had sleep, we are feeling better. Lara now has a runny nose, but it could be teething related because tooth #5 doesn't look too far away.

Georgia - :hugs: Poor Sophia. Is it like the gastro bug that she had a couple of months ago? There just seems to be soooo much sickness around at the moment, everyone I speak to has had sick kids and they seem to have been sick for ages (like our girls, it just seems to keep coming back). I hope your gorgeous girl gets over it quickly.

Kimba - Happy 10 months to Jet!!! I had a look at your photos and they are beautiful. It sounds and looks like you had a lovely family weekend together. Yep, I've tried cheesesticks with Lara and she wasn't too keen (surprise, surprise) I will try them again soon. We had some success with toast this morning, in that she would let it go near her mouth and sucked on it for a minute or two. And as I type, she is sitting next to me eating cream cheese sandwiches, of course she's spitting more out than she's swallowing. She'll get there eventually, like you said, you don't see 7 yr olds eating pureed food.

Bec - :yelclap: for Ella standing. She sounds like walking may not be too far away either.

Well I had serious words to dh last night and feel much better about everything. I don't think that he has bonded with Lara as well as Eloise. I know he loves her, but he's just adores Eloise and loves that she is so interactive with him and he doesn't get that from Lara. It doesn't help that Lara's a mummy's girl and sometimes doesn't want a bar of daddy. I know it will get better as Lara gets older, but it's not really fair on any of us. I also finally managed to get him to contact the bank and get the ball rolling on the car/home renovation front, which he did :smiliedance: We're going to have a look at a few over the weekend, so hopefully I'll have a new car within the next month :smiliedance:

Okay enough from me,
Take care...

Hi everyone,

I'm sitting here at 5.45pm, and I have 3 children in bed for the night  I'm so pleased with myself, lol! Jarvis is still pretty miserabel and has lived on 3 teaspoons of weet bix, and a couple of breast feeds today - he is just totally off everything. I had to wake him this afternoon to drop Mack at Kinder, so he was pretty tired and grumpy too. If he's not sounding or looking any better come Thursday, I'll be taking him back to the Dr! Tallan has had a huge day today. he was up at 6.00am, which didn't impress me at all!! And as Mack has now taken to topping and tailing in Tallan's bed of a night time(hey, it keeps him out of mine, lol), Mack was also awake at 6.00am! I, however, managed to stay in bed until after 9.00am then I was punished for it....My Aunty arrived unannounced in the middle of breakfast, then my sister rocked up shortly after that!! Yep, gotta love being busted in the pj's looking like cr*p!!
DH is home again tomorrow night until next Tuesday. He hasn't been sounding very happy lately, and I'm finding it really hard to talk to him about it. He just doesn't want to open up about what's troubling him. Deep down I know that it's all because we are not there with him, so I think I'm almost about to make the decision to pack us all up and head up North to be closer to him. I think.....

Oh, oh, we had another exciting thing happen here today. Even though Jarvis is feeling so crappy, he managed to take a couple of 'steps' on his hands and knees today! YAY!

Jarvis has just woken screaming. Guess my night isn't mine just yet...BBL.

Hi everyone,

Wow Sarah, big decision. Yay to Jarvis for the crawling! I can't believe you had everyone in bed at 5.45, even if you did have to resettle him - and here I was congratulating myself for having one baby in bed at 7. She was completely buggered, she seems to be in between needing and not needing her afternoon sleep.

Sare, so glad Lara gave you a better night. Also good to hear you had a "talk" with DH. It can be like pulling teeth to get DP to talk about his feelings, but it's worth it as I always feel better. Just need to pick my battles as it's fairly exhausting!

We just had roast lamb for tea, it was so yummy, best one I've made in a while.

Georgia, big hugs & sympathy, that must be awful. Hope she's better soon and you can have a rest.

Did I mention I have 5 adult IL's and two kids staying here on Friday night, then we all go to Sydney on Saturday? Oh boy. I like my IL's but I'm a bit worried about Ella's sleep etc and also how she's going to travel.

Sal if we're going to catch up (you said you'd meet all of us!) you'll have to drive instead of flying to Sydney one day! I often catch up with people out at the servo on the Hume highway.

Off to internet shop for a while. If I only had pots of money :D

Abbey cracked me up this morning. She fell into her toy box and her little legs were waving frantically in the air, and that was all i could see!

I had trouble getting her out for laughing so much. She wasnt sure whether or not to cry since mummy was laughing non stop for five minutes. I'm considering tipping her back in for a photo. Aren't I mean?

She's been doing a really cute thing while settling down to sleep now. When she is not quite asleep she will do insy-winsy actions with her hands until she drifts off. I know she's always found me singing insy-winsy comforting but i didnt realise she could make the connection to use it herself. Those pudgy little fingers twiddle and turn until they they can twiddle no more. So adorable. I want to marry my baby. Valentine

Sarah - definitely a big decision. Is he working North permanently? I actually hate it when Abbey goes to bed at 5.45 as it means she gets up at 5.30 next morning. Her proper bedtime is 7pm but we havent hit that target for ages. Its either too early or too late! I live in hope of convincing her the world doesnt start until 7am, but she gets up with the sun at 6.30. I'm dreading those early summer sunrises...if she gets up at 4am for 3 months i am going to be annoyed!

Bec - Internet shopping doesnt count since its not real money, you know that!

Sare - way to go on the 9 hour sleep. Brauer isnt quite that magical for Abbey, but i do use it sometimes.

Georgia - poor sophia - that doesnt sound pleasant at all (for either of you)!

Kimba - sounds like Jet has been having a great time! I took Abbey to the beach a couple months ago. She wasnt impressed. The sand was okay on her toesies but those cold wet fluffy waves werent nice. I will have to take her again sometime. Trouble is I hate the beach. Its all sandy and windy. My couch is the opposite.

Hello

Just a quick one from me. The house is sparkly clean with a few little jobs to be done today. Kayley is sitting in bed talking to herself and I am waiting for her to go to sleep so I can go have a shower and get started.

DH has taken a couple of sickies and helped the last 2 days get the outside in order so he has some star stickers next to his name at the moment (pity for him all this work makes me want to sleep rather than anything else)!!!

Sarah - wow on thinking about the big move. I am sure you will make the right decision. How long is DH up there?? Like I said you are an absolute star looking after your boys alone most of the time - it would probably be a lot easier with DH around. Also Kayley seems to be right on schedule with Jarvis taking a couple of little tiny proper crawling steps before going tummy first on the ground and deciding dragging is still much easier!

Sare - I bet you feel so much better with the sleep. I have often looked at the brauers calm one and thought it may be good detting her to sleep (how can anyone hate sleep so much???). The Brauers teething doesn't do a lot for her when her teeth are bad though. Talking about teeth these latest ones have been a lot slower than the others. Normally the pair appears a week after the first one but we have had no 7 for nearly 2 weeks now (coming out slow though) and no 8 has not popped yet - maybe today???

We had a pretty good sleep last night. She needed a resettle at around 10.30 then slept until 1am for a feed and then 5am for another one. Just need to drag that 5am one out for another hour and I will be very happy with that!

Michelle - I cna just picture the legs - I am surprised Kayley hasn't done it yet. She did do a face plant this morning though when she tried to pull up on the bin which was not heavy enough to support her weight.

Georgia - poor thing - I hope things get much healthier in your house very soon.

Kimba - yay on 10 months!! Oh and I know about the grot thing. Especially since I have been giving Kayley vegemite sangas for lunch she always seems to get a bit stuck on her butt, all over her face and everywhere else!!!

Hmmmm - the aquarium is now going and still no sleep - little bugger has been in there for nearly half an hour now - oh well at least she isn't crying.

Better go and get some stuff done.

Best wishes for all of you.

Hi all,

Was just reading up on 'wonder weeks' and Jet is indeed quite unsettled at the moment (approx 44 weeks, just like it says). If this wonder weeks theory is true then I wonder what developmental milestone he's brewing up - I hope it's not walking! he's much easier to catch when he crawls

He's waking 3-4 times a night this week (since our beach trip on Sunday) and I'm KNACKERED. I feel like a zombie at work. It's so much harder to resettle a baby who just rolls over and stands up, and yells until you come! was much easier when they just lay there...in the mornings he wakes at 6 and starts babbling and I just play dead and hope he goes back to sleep, it never works but at least I usually buy myself another 30minutes in bed before he gets cranky.

Beck you've given me an idea!!!! I'm going to make a chart with smiley stickers and show DH just how little he contributes. Might be able to use it as an incentive - if he gets a full row of smileys then I might get 'in the mood' IYKWIM :D

BBL for personals...got a lunch meeting today

Hi guys,
Just a quickie from me.

THANK GOD for my little man is all I will say. After 2 weeks of visitors we are finally free, only for me to be informed by my not so DH that I hogged Adam while his parents were here and treated them unfairly. Needless to say being tired, stressed and pregnant I cracked the sh**s, burst into tears, tole him I hated him and his family and I wish I wasn't pregnant again..........

Well that has had me in tears for 2 whole days. Only to have him come home tonight and say he was wrong. He talked to his dad and his dad told him he was a heartless c***suc*er and that they didn't think anything of the sort. In fact they thought the opposite!!!!!!

Can't say all is forgiven here - far from it. But as I said thank god for my little man and his gorgeous, cheeky and mummy loving ways at the moment. He even cries when I leave the room and DH is here. Makes me so proud.....( I'ma ***** I know but I think I deserve it).

Anyway little munchkin is not keen on crawling - seems to have discovered that pulling yourself up on everything so mummy goes 'ohhh' is much funnier. I'm getting my hair coloured tomorrow to hide the greys from the last week lol.

Hugs and kisses to all having a bad time with non sleepers and sickies.......:hugs: :hugs:

Hi all,

just a quickie from me, i am off to bed.

got home from the inlaws last night, and so glad to be home! I know i shouldn't complain- but my MIL is SO full on with Nedd, she didn't even say hello to me when we rocked up- just grabbed nedd from me, and walked off. And that was pretty much the theme of the time we were there. I know she doesn't get to see him often, and she is a fantastic nanna to him, but it is really hard to cope with her "full on-ness" specially when i don't have DH with me, so feel uncomfortable in their home anyway- I don't really have the most amount of time for my inlaws. way too much muddy history!

Anyway- Nedd has been great, not really much to report- some nights good, others not so. But hey we all know what thats like!

He is mimicking everything at the moment- you only need to do something once or twice and he is copying you, it is very cute! And performing all his special little tricks on demand which is nice.

Beck- we are about to put our house on the market and are trying to clean things out too- I don't even know where to start!!

Jen- Hope your feeling better- come here and vent away any time you need to, thats what we are here for!

Kimba- Ravioli and Tortellini are faves in this house too- specially when we stir them in napoli sauce first so he can make a mega mega mess of it all, I love it, food everywhere is way too cute!

Bec- Well I am sure i will be around that area one day  I seem to be everywhere else at the moment- i'll be sure to pop in and say hi! I am off to tassie mon.

Sare- Glad to hear your little poppet is on the mend, surely thats it for illnesses in your house for the moment, just don't send them my way!!

Sarah- Hope all your lot are on the mend too, I have said it before and will say it again- You deserve a medal woman! Good luck on the decision about moving.

Georgia- Hugs for little Sophia...I hope she is better already as i am typing this. I am dreading Nedds first bout of gastro type illness. It must be heartbreaking.

Hi to all who i have missed...I do keep up with the posts, but whenever i am away i have to plug into dial up- which is not very conducive to me wanting to type a post.

Look at me, I'm ignoring my baby, arent I clever?

We had good sleeps yesterday, good evening sleep, and a good sleep at night - until 4.30am when it was apparently time to get up. No way baby! I might cave in to 5.30 when the sun is rising but dark means sleep, or at least lying in bed doing insy-winsy spider quietly. So i did what i normally do when she tries to get out of bed in the middle of the night, i held her down and stroked her neck and cheeks etc. She did not like it. She built herself up to full screams, like i was pinching her! If there was any pinching going on, it was her sharp fingers pinching and gouging me! Even after i stopped holding her down (its not real holding her down, just enough pressure to send the 'down' signal. Woof) she was still screaming. Climbing and screaming. She had her eyes closed and was practically asleep, but screaming at me anyway. She went on like this for an hour and a half and then we got up. Course, she immediately starts having a happy conversation with the baby in the mirror. Bl00dy kids.

Its the first day of AF and undoubtedly related, she always plays up for ovulation and AF.

I have a rental inspection today, so I made the house nice and sparkly and abbey trailed around behind me unsparklying. I wiped the food off the wall, the vegemite off the carpet and waved a rake around the lawn. Good enough I say! Im positive she will come just as soon as Ive got abbey down for a nap, or am in the shower. The notice says between 8.30-5.30 which is dumb as she has it in her diary as an actual appointment time, so theres no reason they cant share this information with me. Eh, wait on the lawn daft cow.

(mummy is in a bad mood. Not half obvious)

Kimba - what is supposed to be happening at 44 weeks? I googled it but all i could see were the weeks not the wonder.

Sal - Nedd sounds so cute with his mimicry. I wish Abbey would mimic. She's too stubborn though, much like her father. She watches and learns and tucks the information away for special performances I'm not invited to. Wonder if i can beat it out of her? :devil6:

Di - good job on creating the DH guilt! What an absurd thing to say, especially without grounds.

Beck - Abbey's teeth are stuck on an odd number too, makes her look lopsided. Cute, but lopsided.

I was planning on going out to mums this weekend to give her a crash course in html, php and photoshop from scratch( :hair: ) but my little bro has started coughing so im instating a cootie-ban and will stay home.

I'm also getting hassled by my ex's gf to make friends and play nice since she will be abbey's step mummy one day. Lol, he isnt going to marry her, he keeps saying he hates her and wants out. I'm staying well out of it, just refusing to meet her or let her meet Abbey. If he marries her then sure, she can have a role, but why bother with the hassle if he wont? Course, what he really wants is his old lifestyle back where he gets to sit on his bum all day while a woman brings home the bacon, cooks it, serves it, cleans up afterwards and then strokes it lovingly all night. Apparently he's also been telling lots of fascinating lies about how i stop him seeing Abbey and create a stressful relationship. I can just see my little princess being caught in the middle between delusions and real life when she is older and going on unaccompanied visits.

Okay, must put the smoke alarm back together for appareance sake!

Mornin everyone

Will have to skip personals this morning but I do hope all our sick bubbas are on the mend. All DH/DP/DF's are being nice and everyone is getting some good zzzzzzzzz's.

Well all is going pretty smoothly at our household over the past few weeks and its becoming easier to get organised and into a good routine.
I have been a bit on the cranky side just plainly because my eyes feel like they are hanging out of my head some days and DP and I have had a few little spats but nothing too major.
So my lazy little daughter is STILL not crawling, every day she looks like she is moving closer to the big event but she still hasnt grasped the concept.
No more teeth here either, she has her bottom 2 and thats it. Hope this doesnt mean she will get the rest all at once.....
My little princess has been an absolute treasure for my mum as well. Still a terrific sleeper for both of us which I am eternally grateful for. Whats the chances of me having another baby who sleeps like this??????????................
Speaking of ANOTHER baby. I am a bit nervous ATM coz.........THE CONDOM BROKE!!.......I know we were planning to have another baby but just not quite so soon. I say if its meant to be its meant to be.... But I am still sh!tting myself.
Well best be off to enjoy my 2 days off with my angel.... Getting my hair coloured tomorrow and looking for a dress for the ball still.
Have a great day everyone!!!!!!!

Zombiefied again today...3 wakeup calls again last night, and a saturated baby this morning because Jethro's been so thirsty/ drinking so much at night he outwees every nappy I put on him. Lucky he's so cute and happy to see me when I go to him...He 'gave' me a toy to play with this morning which is a first, usually it's all about what he can snatch for himself.

Michelle - UGH to getting up and staying up at 4.30am...6am is obscene enough! I have no idea what the 'wonder' is supposed to be either, just that babies are commonly unsettled around 44 weeks. Maybe it's just a common age for them all to do something new, no matter what that new thing is...or maybe it's a 'growth spurt' LOL.

Mary anne - you are so lucky to have such a great sleeper. You won't know what hit you if you have a normal to bad sleeper next time! Yikes on the broken condom, hope that whatever happens (BFP or BFN) it's what you want. Sometimes I feel like tempting fate to see if we 'accidentally' get a BFP! and then I remember how awful it felt not to be able to take 12 months off with Jet...so the longer I wait the more $ we can save and the longer I can take off next time.

Sal - Nedd is such a little honey, with his sharing and mimicking. Jet isn't much of a mimic either, well not at the time anyway...although he's taken to rousing on us when he's cranky with a loud 'ZET ZET ZET', which I think comes from DH yelling 'JET!!!!' instead of saying 'No'

Di - :hugs: give your DH a kick up the bum from us. What is it with these men and their stupid misperceptions and accusations? They always start fights over the most immature dumbar$sed things.

I'm hungry...AF is due any time now and I think I feel the beginnings of PMS. Yay!

Hi girls,

Just a quick one, I need to fold some laundry before dh gets home from work and I want to get a start on dinner too.

Lara seems to be settling much better now. She's still waking up a couple of times a night, but she's not expecting to be rocked back to sleep, so that's a plus. She still is a bit snotty, but otherwise all seems well with her.

Eloise has been a bit of a pain today, she always is when she misses her day sleep the day before. She gets soooooo whiney when she's tired. It drives me crazy.

I'll try to hop back on at some stage tonight or tomorrow for personals... it will all depend on whether dh is going to use the computer to work on the deck design tonight (he always says he is going to, but hardly ever does)

Take care...

Hi all,

I've been a bit precious/fragile lately. I have been working at home nights so that I can still have Wednesday's off but it's just too much. Thankfully, I can see the light at the end of the tunnel. DH and I are having a holiday to NZ (Campervan) late November and we are going sans baby. Aforementioned baby is staying home, in his usual routine with Granny to spoil him rotten. Took them a while to convince me to leave him but he doesn't care and never misses me and I think the break will do all of us good, especially since DH has had to do some shiftwork. I've asked creche to fit Sam in for Wednesday's whenever they can manage it so that I can have nights to myself. He loves creche, so I'm lucky in that.

Sam only started commando crawling two weeks ago and he is a 7 Oct baby, so don't stress anyone! He still doesn't do a 'real crawl' but gets around quite happily. He seems more fascinated with clapping.:)

He is still sleeping poorly, so with all my work, lack of sleep and DH working weekends I don't get much of a break. I keep telling Sam it's lucky I love him so much! He has taken to squealing these last couple of days and it's killing our heads and those of the carers.

I bought a backpack from a camping store for $170 as Sam hates the pram and it's the best thing I've ever bought. I took him for a wander in it Wednesday and he didn't say a peep. It also has room for bottles etc and has a metal frame that stands up so you can sit them on the ground in it.

Unfortunately I have to go and work  but there's only a couple of weeks left of this frantic time, then I should be back to personals and my normal, happy self. Until then, thank god for WINE!:D

 hello

I've had a nice relaxing day today without the boys. I'm feeling a little better today too after my myotherapy appoint this morning, so that's a bonus too. Jarvis seems to have picked up a bit today. He has eaten all of his meals, and his nappies are back to normal (he wasn't having much of an output). Tooth number 2 has shown it's head, and his top two teeth are also almost throug. I knew this would happen - no teeth until almost 10 months, then they all arrive at once!! He can't keep the hands out of his mouth. He is also really starting to practice the hands and knees crawl now too!! He looks so cute!

We've been house hunting again today! I gave DH 'the chat' this morning, and told him that we are going to either find something here and buy, or we will move to QLD with him for 12-18 months. We have a list of places to have a look at on the weekend, and if we aren't impressed with any of those, we will probably (hopefully) purchase some land we both really like (if it's still available). It's 1/2 an acre, so plenty of space for the boys and a big truck shed for DH! If we are to go ahead with this, we will sit on the land for 12-18 months, then build on it and move back. I'm not letting him go back to QLD without something in the mix this time!

Jen: :hugs: You really do sound totally flat out! The time away in November sounds lovely, and it does sound like you need it! Sam will be fine, and probably won't even know you've gone, lol! It will be nice for you and DH to spend some time to yourselves and wind down.

Sare: Good to hear that Lara has almost settled back into her normal sleeping pattern. I'm hearing you on the missed toddler sleep! Tallan is just horrible if he misses his now.

Kimba: That's so cute about Jet saying Zet! It's so cute to hear their little voices. Jarvis has been very vocal today, copying the sounds I've made, etc. Won't be long and they'll be answering us, lol! I got a tata out of him today! Oh, the star chart for DH - cracked me up!! How funny would that be?

Mary-Anne: Sounds like you've settled back into being at work ok. Hey, I'll have to join you in the 2 week wait ;) DH seems convinced that I will be, however as I haven't had the return of AF yet, I'm not so sure!! Whatever your result, I hope it's what you want it to be!

Michelle: What time did your inspection happen today? I hate it when they give time frames like that, although we haven't had an inspection happen here since we moved in, and that was over 12 months ago! Pooh to your Ex's gf! I totally agree with you on this one.

Sal: You must be happy to be home and sleeping in your own bed? I'm the same with my MIL. I can't stand them and really don't like spending time with them, but she is really good with the kids. Oh well, at least you don't need to be seeing them all the time.

Beck: DH is up for there as long as he wants the job! It's not a contractual thing or anything, it's ongoing. At this stage, he is thinking he will stay there for a couple of years, and then he will find a job back here. How's Kayley doing with her hands and knees crawling?

Di: I don't know how you do it having the amount of visitors you do!! I get overwhelmed just having people over for lunch, lol! Hope you are doing well with the pregnancy!

Hello to anyone I've missed, hope all is well.
Off to browse the hub,
Sarah

Hi girls,
OK ME post first then back for personals:
What a week, ended up in hospital again as Sophia wouldn't eat or drink anything and had dry nappies all day Monday. She has some kind of respiratory virus and a gastro bug at the same time. She seems to be on the mend. I have some questions for you:

1) I'm really starting to feel a bit upset about day care for Sophia. I think the centre is great and she really enjoys it but she is getting sick an awful lot which i'm not sure whether she is just one of those perpetually sick kids or whether it's the place. I'm thinking about getting a nanny which wouldn't be much more expensive and I could have the hours I want. What do you guys reckon?
2) For mums who are ff, what are your routines like in terms of feeds and quantities? I always thought I would stop b'fing at 12 months but we are still doing lots of feeds and not really sure how to wean? Sare, how did you do it with Eloise and what are your plans for Lara?
3) It's driving me mad!!! Sophia has started sitting up and "can't" get back down at night in her cot and then obviously cries out and I have to re-settle. Is this a phase? Do they remember how to get back down?

OK, that'll do for the moment, thanks girls

Sarah - Sounds good about the land. It may be a good time to do a brief move like that, before the boys are in school, You must miss your man, I think you are very strong.
Jen - How exciting about your holiday, are you going to do North or South Island? That backpack sounds great, he must love having a proper look at the world.

Oh, bbl, Miss is grizzling....

Hi all,

Had the best night all week last night, Jet only had me up once at around 1am then we both got up at 6 this morning. He was such a happy little camper this morning. So, so cute. I hate leaving him at daycare and missing out!

Georgia, sorry that Sophia has been so sick again, it must be so stressful and worrying for you have to take her to hospital. In answer to your questions:
1) I'm really starting to feel a bit upset about day care for Sophia. I think the centre is great and she really enjoys it but she is getting sick an awful lot which i'm not sure whether she is just one of those perpetually sick kids or whether it's the place. I'm thinking about getting a nanny which wouldn't be much more expensive and I could have the hours I want. What do you guys reckon?

Jet seems to have been perpetually sick since starting daycare but then I come on here and read about other bubs who have been sick and snotty and they're not in daycare! so who really who knows? he does seem to love the interaction with other kids. If I could have afforded a nanny I would've preferred to keep Jet at home till he was a bit older but then again if I could afford a nanny then I could afford to cut back more hours at work myself and just have him in daycare a bit less which would be even better!

2) For mums who are ff, what are your routines like in terms of feeds and quantities?
Jet never really drinks much at one time, so he still has about 4-6 bottles a day: on waking at 5-6am he'll have 120-150ml, then 120-150ml again at around 9.30 and again at 12.30 (at daycare), then just water in the afternoon, another 150ml at bedtime, and at the moment 150-200ml in the middle of the night (and sometimes I'll give him another 120ml if he wakes more than once and won't resettle without a feed).

3) It's driving me mad!!! Sophia has started sitting up and "can't" get back down at night in her cot and then obviously cries out and I have to re-settle. Is this a phase? Do they remember how to get back down?

Jet has been doing this too. I think it's not so much that he can't remember as that he doesn't WANT to lie down, he wants to get up and be with me, and refuses to lie back down even if he's tired. So then he gets 'stuck' in a sitting/ standing position and calls out for me. I'm hoping it is just a phase (trying to assert himself?), hopefully he'll figure out that there's no point and that he should just lay back down.

Sarah - the land sounds lovely. It's my dream one day to buy land and build...maybe if we win Lotto LOL.

Jen - New Zealand sounds fab I'm sure the break will do you good. I'd love a holiday!

Sare - hope that Lara is 100% soon and that Eloise isn't on your nerves today

Hey All

Georgia/Kimba - Kayley has been doing that a bit too (sitting in her cot). When I come in to her she is usually sitting nad I have to struggle to get her to lie back down and relax. I think if I slept in the same room as her she would be more relaxed - she has been in her own room since 3 months you would think she was used to it by now!!

Well last night was pretty average and the night before was horrendous - I hope this little toothy pops out today and we have a break before the next ones!

Sarah - I was just watching Kayley take a couple of real crawling steps then back on her belly again for the commando which she finds much easier - maybe someday!!

Georgia - I am worried about that for Daycare too - but I guess they have to get some of these bugs sometime and maybe they will be better when they get to Kinda compared to the home bubs?? Who knows. I am tossing up family day care/child care centre options at the moment for after we have moved.

Jen - good to here from you - I hope things get easier for you soon you seem to be having a tought time with it all.

Well we have had 2 real estate agents around the last 2 nights and just have to pick one and get over it - they are borderline criminals I think! The amount of money they get paid is pretty good. We are going to try and negotiate down the rate and go from there.

Well I gotta run and see what Kayley is getting into over there (at least I can take a few minutes out these days even if she is watching TV and probably getting into trouble).

Have a great weekend everyone!

Hi all,

Last night was bith good and bad for us here! Nedd woke at 4am (after a few resettles already), and was unable to go back to sleep so I finally gave him a bottle at 5.30 and brought him into bed with me....where he proceeded to sleep till 9am:eek: he has never slept that late- so i took the excuse of him being in my bed and unable to leave him alone and stayed snoozing with him. It was lovely!!!

Today I went for a walk this morning, and had a girlfriend over for a coffee- she told me she is leaving her husband of 8yrs (they have three kids together), big shock, but to be honest I'm surprised they lasted this long- it was a shotgun wedding after a very short relationship. The hubby wants to work things out, but she has removed herself emotionally ages ago, and there is also another guy in the mix who she is close to, but says she is not with. I can see it all getting very messy!

Apart from that I am doing a stack of admin for work, in amongst packing/cleaning. We sign this arvo with a real estate agent to put our house on the market.

Georgia- Daycare: I read somewhere that it takes twelve months to get all the bugs through their system from day care. Can't help you there as Nedd just generally has a perpetually runny nose I have been pretty lucky so far.
Formula: Nedd has three 240mls bottles daily. But I think you could start by replacing BF with FF in smaller qtys more often? If you are weaning at 12mnths though- don't you just put them straight to cows milk in a sippy cup?
Sitting up in cot: Nedd does this too- for the first few weeks it woke him up, and was so annoying! But now i have learnt that if he is tired enough he justs lies forward and sleeps there. It is almost as if he falls asleep then just topples over!

Jen- way to go on the holiday! I hear you about not being missed anyway! I am away a fair bit ofr work at the moment, and my little man though excited when i get home doesn't appear to miss me whilst away. I was reading about seperation anxiety the other day- and it really doesn't apply to Nedd, he is pretty happy to go to anyone!

Sarah- We could be building at the same time the rate we are going!!! We can compare notes!!

Beck- I hear you on the RE agents! We had a couple through. We ended up going with the one we originally brought off. He is our age and we see him out from time to time so feel kinda like we know him. Also being a sales rep myself means I've been totally upfront with any questions and hidden catches- I think they seem to appreciate the openness (well maybe I am the sucker after all!!)

Grr bubbies awake. BBL for more!

Hi guys,

Will post as long as Ella is good. We've got the top room open today to let it warm up for the IL's to sleep up here, but it means we're always chasing Ella away from the stairs - she's great at going up, but wants to go down head first...

Georgia, re weaning - my ECN said she only needs 2-3 milk feeds a day, and that until we had dropped more than that, she only needs water as her food intake would go up as we dropped b/fs. So far that's what's happened, she doesn't seem to miss it at all! She said when I need to replace b/f's, just to go to cow's milk or formula at that time. I didn't ask how much though... been meaning to ring her & ask!

btw, is anyone else's baby grinding their teeth all the time - on everything?? Ella even does it on the brickwork till you catch her:eek:

Jen we have one of those backpacks - it was a hand me down & its fab! That's how I get tea cooked on grizzly days. We moved on to it from the harness when Ella wanted to be facing outwards. Hope we can have our Canberra catchup soon!

Sal wow that's a full on situation - are you friendly with the hubby too? I hope you don't get too tangled in it as well. Ella always sleeps later in with us too! She loves the snuggles.

Better go do a PG test before anyone else gets here - I'm a bit suspicious...

Hi girls,

A quiet day here...Not too bad last night. Lara was awake at 3ish. DH tried to settle her but she wouldn't. So at 4 I went down to her and she settled almost straight away. I went back to bed and 5 minutes later, she started crying again. So I pulled out the blow-up mattress and slept in her room. The problem is I can't go to bed early, I'm a bit of a night owl, so I generally don't fall asleep before midnight. I need to get myself into a better sleep pattern too and then I'm sure I will be able to cope with the early morning wakings.

My dad and dh's cousin (who work together. No we didn't meet through them... a pure coincidence) came over with dh's cousin's almost 4 month old for luch today. She looked so tiny compared to my big boofa. Made me all clucky again.

I always thought I would stop b'fing at 12 months but we are still doing lots of feeds and not really sure how to wean? Sare, how did you do it with Eloise and what are your plans for Lara?

I let Eloise lead me into weaning her, although decision about when to finally stop came down to me. As I increased Eloise's solids she let me know when she wanted to drop a feed (just refused it when I offered it at the 'usual' time that she was fed). Lara seems to be doing the same. She's down to 4 feeds a day and she's getting fussy so possibly wanting to drop down to 3 (she's on and off and blowing raspberries while she has a mouthful of milk :banghead:). From memory I kept Eloise on 3 feeds a day until she hit 12 months, then I changed one of them to cows milk. Around 13 months we dropped down to 1 feed and the completely stopped the day she turned 14 months. I want to stop feeding Lara around 13 months, so the weaning on to cows milk will be a bit faster for her.

How many feeds is Sophia having a day? Do you think it's a hunger or a comfort thing for her? Have you tried offering a sippy cup with water in it to see if that helps cut down on the no. of feeds you are doing?

re daycare and illnesses: Lara's never been in daycare and has still managed to catch quite a few bugs. Eloise seems to have a strong immune system, but we may find that she catches all sorts when she goes to kinder next year. I guess it depends on the individual.

re sitting up in the cot: I've got to confess.... I still wrap Lara. She won't sleep otherwise. I plan on weaning her off the wrap when she gets back into a good sleep routine.

Sal - Good luck with selling your house. When do you start building? :smiliedance: on the extra sleep. What I'd give for a decent sleep-in

Beck - Good luck with your choice of agents and for selling your house too. I guess there would a pretty high demand for houses where you are with it being in such a growth area. Have you decided on plans for your new house yet? I love your new avatar, such a cute pic of Kayley.

Kimba - Maybe Jet will be in a good mood for the you on the weekend too. Isn't it funny that you can tell whether you'll be in for a good or bad day within 5-10mins of the kids waking? Breakfast time is the usual mood barometer in our place. If Eloise is being a pain, wanting me to feed her etc, I can tell it'll be a bad, whiney day.

Sarah - Good luck with your decision about what to do about moving. You've done a great job for so long on your own, but I can only imagine how exhausted you must be looking after your three gorgeous boys alone.
How are the boys doing now? All over the ear infections and croup?
Good luck with your 2WW too. I hope that you get your BFP soon. We've decided to hold off for a while now, at least until we get back from our holiday. So looks like March/April is when we'll start trying.

Jen - What a heavy workload. A holiday will do you and your dh the world of good. Have a ball.

Mary-anne - Will you have the next :bfp: ? I hope it all turns out how you and your dp want it to. How did the dress shopping go?

Michelle - Your ex's g/f has a cheek, doesn't she? Maybe your ex deserves her with the cr@p he's been spinning about you and visit etc.
How did the rental inspection go?

Well better go. we're going to look at a car tomorrow and I'm looking for some others on the net that we can stop by and have a look at too. I'm hoping that this car is the one though, it's only got 28,000km on it and has 7 seats, leather interior and reverse parking sensors (my must have for driving a bigger car). The only thing that it doesn't have, that dh wants, is tinted windows and a tow bar, both of which we can add later.

Have a great weekend girls.

Hi Bec, I must have been typing while you were posting.

btw, is anyone else's baby grinding their teeth all the time - on everything?? Ella even does it on the brickwork till you catch her:eek:

Yep and it drives me nuts, it's one of the sound that really grates on me. Eloise used to do it when she was teething and I'm pretty sure that Lara is doing the same too.

Better go do a PG test before anyone else gets here - I'm a bit suspicious

OMG...Good luck :fingerscrossed: Hope you have good news to share next time you are on here.

 everyone,

Well, my little Jarvis has sure been a very busy baby over the last week!!! He now has had 4 teeth come through since last Friday  His two bottom, and two top! About time too. everyone kept telling me that once they started coming, he'd get them all at once, and that's what's happened alright!

We have some more exciting news too! We have looked through another house this morning, and at the moment it looks as though we will be making the big purchase! :smiliedance: We are having the estate agent pop over later today with the
section 32, and all going well with that, we'll throw her an offer sometime over the next day or two!! DH goes back to QLD for the next 5 or so weeks on Tuesday, so we have to move fast, lol! The house has just recently been completed. It's been in the making for approx. 4 years, but it has never been lived in. Apparently they live 5 hours away and they have been making the trek down here when they can to work on it. It needs to have a good paint job done inside, as they have done it all themselves (and you can tell too), but that's easy fixed! It also needs to have the backyard done on it, but once again, that's easy! It's a bit exciting, but I'm not going to get my hopes up just yet. It always seems that when I do, I get let down just as quickly!

DH has the boys over at the local primary school playing on the playground, etc, so I have a little time to myself. It's nice - they have all been so ratty the last couple of days, especially DH, lol!! I'm meant to be going out tonight to a friends 30th/going away, but I really couldn'e be bothered. a block of Kit Kat chocolate sounds so much more inviting! DH is off to the footy at the Teltra Dome tomorrow, so I'll be left at home, without a car, twiddling my fingers with the 3 boys. I'm hoping it's a nice sunny day!

Sare: Thanks for asking about the boys. Tallan and Jarvis are both still on their antibiotics for a couple of days yet, but they have really started coming good again now, which is great. Jarvis seems to be back to his old cheeky self, deciding he will sleep when he wants to, etc, and Tallan is fighting with Mack just like he was before he got sick! Have fun car shopping tomorrow - I hope you end up getting the car you want.

Bec: How did you go with the pregnancy test?

Beck: Re: Real Estate Agents - a friend of mine looked into this place that only took a very small amount out of the sale price. I can't remember now who it was, but I think they advertise your house for you on the internet (so there's no advertising costs), and then you conduct your own open house. I can find out who it was if you like?

Georgia:
1) I'm really starting to feel a bit upset about day care for Sophia. I think the centre is great and she really enjoys it but she is getting sick an awful lot which i'm not sure whether she is just one of those perpetually sick kids or whether it's the place.
I have a friend who's little one is also getting sick continually. She is only at daycare two days a week, but after the 2nd day of her being there, she's picked something up. Then, she'll get well, and go again the next week, only to get sick again! I swear she has had a constant ear infection now for months! My gf took her out for a couple of months, and she didn't fall ill once! Although, Mack was in full time daycare from the age of 6 months, and I can't remember him being too sick with things. Tallan has been attending daycare since he was about 12
months - just 1 or 2 days a week, and he hasn't been too bad either. Jarvis hasn't attended daycare, and in his 10 months of being here, has only been unwell twice (and that's been in the last month). I just think it really depends on the child. If their going to get sick, their going to get sick, iykwim?
Re: Weaning - Mack self weaned not long after I went back to work, so it wasn't my decision. With Tallan, I started trying to wean him at around 7 months, however, he wasn't interested with it. he much preferred the boob. I couldn't even leave him over a feed time, because he just wouldn't take anything else. He also ended up self weaning, much to my surprise, at 9 months! I am still breast feeding Jarvis, who at 10 months, seems quite happy with his booby feeding, but he will take formula if need be. I have already started to slowly introduce the cow's milk into his diet. He will have cow's milk on his breakfast every day. I'll start at 12 months by giving him a cup of cow's milk at lunchtime, and bf in the morning and at night. And like Sare said, will then wait a month or so, before dropping the morning feed, then go on to drop the night.

My little man is still in his room talking away....looks like he won't be having another sleep today. :hair:
Have a good day ladies,
Sarah

Hey all

Hope your weekends are all going well.

We are having a quiet night tonight. Just Dh, Adam and me home (and Adam as usual has been in bed since 5.30pm). Its nice to have some quiet as we had an undercover wear party here last night and it was a loud, long night - but a good one. For someone who has been in bed between 8-9 every night since:bfp: I can tell you 11.30 was a LATE night.

Anyway DH is still sucking up and left me in bed until after 10 which was nice although I was up a few times during the night with a crook stomach. DH and Adam both snored through the night so I figured they were ok to get up...poor little snooks had the runny nose now so breathing is rather loud atm.

We spent a remarkably pleasant day at dreamworld today. My little man is REALLY gonna be a charmer. I know I keep saying it but he is unbelievable. We had a photo of DH, my 12 yr old son and Adam done with a koala. These japanese people were all clicking away. The man asked them to not click so much as it was upsetting the koala- they told him 'no koala, little boy'. I was a little stunned but b***y Adam just kept smiling and waving to them. He is the new Gold Coast tourist attraction lol. I should've charged them $5 a photo, I'd be rich now.

Anyway its good to read most babies are improving slowly. To the little ones in child care. I was a director for nearly 15 years and the 1st 12 months for any baby are the worst. They will pick up the tinniest thing until their bodies get used to the germs around. Doesn't matter if you breast or ottle feed. I always just think breast fed bubs seem to recover quicker (but that's my opinion - not an attack on anyone). Adam has dropped his last breast feed of the day. But he only really has 2 or 3 180-240ml bottles a day. He drinks alot of water as he is mad on my drink bottle and his cup ao with his breakfast and lunch he just has water. But he has an almighty appetite.

Ok. I am off before I get banned for a mammoth post ha ha

:hugs: & to all mummies and bubbies

Howdy doody all
My letter D is unwell. I think there is chocolate under it. I cant imagine how it escaped my mouth though. Its so unlike me.

Di - of course Adam is an international charmer! He can be Foreign Affairs minister when he is olDer and use his wiles to get us all those trade deals and what not. Im sure he would be nicer to look at than Downer anyway.

Sarah - excellent news on the house! Is this in QLD or near where you are now?

Bec - dont tease us and then hold out!
Abbey was grinding her teeth on everything she could, but her preference is to chew wood and lick the oven vents. She can see where other babies have posted buttons and lollies through the vents and tries to get them out with her tongue. Its so gross. Ive cleaned the vents themselves so she is licking something clean, but i cant clean behind them.

I bought a special toothbrush for her. She was refusing to let me brush her teeth, so i bought a "babys 1st toothbrush" which isnt a toothbrush really. It was invented by a dentist and its a silicone wedge with little nodules. She loves it and i dont have to wrestle her anymore. She just chews on it for a little while. I got mine from k-mart in the baby section, im sure chemists would stock them too.

Sare - arent the early mornings lovely? not! Rotten willful babies. Mum said not to let Abbey win this fight, no matter what, as she was doing it to test me. Abbey knows dark means sleep, just because she wants to get up and play doesnt mean she can! Abbey screams like i am pinching her but settles eventually into staring at the wall until she falls asleep. I dont care if she is talking to herself or staring at the wall, so long as she can be quiet at 4am. Most night she will sleep from 2-6 now.

my inspection - the agent came by at 10.45 and i was still in my jammies. Abbey had just gotten up from her nap and that would be the time to shower, so perfectly normal to me. I dont think the agent appreciated it though, in addition to the less than spotless house. Much looking down the nose. Dont care, i passed.

re weaning - if you are ff, when do you think you will change to cows milk, or will you use toddler formula?
-if you are breastfeeding, when do you plan on weaning if baby doesnt self-wean first? After that, planning on cows milk or toddler formula?

Im planning on weaning at 18 months, im not ready to do it yet and she's almost 12 months, but i wonder if i will be ready at 18 months or will she come home from lunch in high school for some bitty?

abbey, put that down!

Morning all,

well its been a nice quiet wkend here. Watched DH play his last game of footy for the year yesterday, it was a nice day so got out the picnic rug and sat outside in the sunshine.

Today he is off to a footy function to end the season and I get to clean clean clean! Nedd has had a few pooey nights- he is back to waking 3-4 times, and atleast one of them is a battle of the wills. I am hoping it is due to teeth (but absolutley nothing to base this hope on!!)

Re grinding- Nedd hasn't discovered this trick yet thank goodness. Even our cot is still unscathed. I am just waiting though!

Sare- Funny that you mention the four mnth old making you clucky- my nephew is 4mnths, and to be honest i am finding him rather boring!! My active funny and clever 10mnths old is way more fun. I am thinking next time I'd like one where I can skip the first six mnths....

re Building- it won't be for ages, but we just want to sell this place so that a] it gives a kick up the bum to get started, b] we have some money in the bank to pay for all the small things that we will get contractors in to do. In the meantime we are maybe going to live with my parents- ugh- not to sure about that yet though!

Sarah- Wow on Jarvis' teeth, thats a lot of pain for the little tacker to cope with! Atleast its short and sweet.
And yay to you on finding a house- thats great news.

Michelle- I have food under my letters all the time. Its payback for eating my morning toast at the laptop. Last week it was the letter a for me. This week it is the number 1.
Oh and re the inspection- snotty real etstate chickes who aren't good enough to actually sell houses- therefore only get to handle the rentals bore me to tears. They think they are so good- um yeah right!!

Sue- glad to hear sleep school went well. Doesn't it just make you feel so much better!!!! Hope Kane keeps up the good work!

ok, well I am cleaning out the bedroom cupboards today- thought that'd be a good job to share with Nedd, he can pull things out as I put them back

I am off to tassie in the morning for two nights. No one in tassie to visit is there?!? I am going to get as many cuddles as I can today to make up for all the ones I will miss whilst I am away.

Morning all! it's a wonderful rainy day here, I was up to give milk to Jet at 6 but then DH let me sleep in till 8.30 (miracle!!!), and Jet ate all his porridge without fuss and has been asleep for his morning nap since 9. All is well with the world! except a nagging headache but some panadeine should sort that out...

My little man stood straight up from the floor yesterday without pulling up on anything. It shocked him as much as me I think! He's standing unassisted more and more often too, up to 10 seconds now. I'm dreading him starting to walk, but then again it's going to be so cute...

I've been on a bit of a baby-food making bender this weekend, Jet is still refusing to eat in his high chair at dinner time so I need more healthy pre-prepared 'dinner worthy' finger foods to give him when I get home from work (he can't have toast and cheesticks all the time). So I made a big batch of baby rissoles yesterday, DH and I thought they were delish, but Jet has now realised he can spit things out after chewing them  so I have bits of chewed up rissole all over the floor. NOICE! And today I'm making a batch of macaroni cheese with chicken and vegies, hopefully he'll like that :fingerscrossed:

Sal - enjoy cleaning out the cupboards sounds like a good plan to get Nedd to pull things out, that's Jet's favourite pastime too (if I can only train him to put things BACK...) Enjoy your trip to Tassie, bet it's bl00dy cold there at the moment.

Sue - glad that sleep school worked for you! hope it keeps working and that teething doesn't throw it all out the window.

Michelle - chocolate under the keyboard is a hazard around here too. Re: switching to cows milk, I don't think I'll bother with toddler formula unless Jet doesn't take to cows milk right away. Not planning on doing it until at least 12 months though and then will just phase the cows milk in.

Di - of course Adam is a charmer, most of our Oct babies are Librans, they're all born to charm and work a crowd! Jet gets anything that he wants with just one smile and he knows it too...

Sarah - glad that your boys are on the mend and wow on Jarvis' teeth. That kind of happened to us too, Jet had 2 bottom ones come through at the same time then nothing for a while then 4 top ones at once! Hopefully this is it for a little while.

Oops gotta go my wee man is awake - enjoy your Sunday everyone! :)

ETA:- he stood for 18 seconds this afternoon  and ALMOST took a step, but fell on his bum instead.

Hi All

Well my little muppet has a cold (I knew she would pick it up from the snotty kid at mothers group - I am sure once she is in daycare she will be constantly sick too). 2 nights ago was terrible but last night was surprisingly not too bad. She woke about 9.30 and I dosed her up on demezin, then we had a feed at 1am and she was down until 5am when she had a feed and some more demezin and some fess little noses (which she hates). After a little bit she could breathe again and she went back down. She is still asleep now:yelclap: ! I am only up because she was grizzling for a while but went in to find she was grizzling with her eyes shut!

As for me I am limping around the place. This stupid cow at hockey took me out yesterday. I tackled her, she lost her balance and got upset and took my feet out with her stick. I have the hugest lump and bruise on my inside ankle bone. It was even hard enough to break the sking through the bottom of my shin guard and 2 pairs of socks - grrrrr. Now my poor dog will have to wait another couple of days before I can get a shoe on and take him for a walk (misse dout all last week because I was cleaning) and I feel crappy because I haven't gotten out of the house.

Well we have agent no #2 coming back tonight to sign up. The house is pretty clean I just have to limp around and do some vacuuming later. I also bought a couple of pot plants to put together later.

Now as for formula etc - I am now planning on going back to work about 12 months so I have to wean her before I go back. I am trying to cut down one more feed during the day at the moment so she will have 2 bottle feeds then 2-3 breast feeds when I am home. My MCHN said toddler milk was a rip and there was no need for it but it will all depend if she takes cows milk or not. My sister used toddler formula for ages with the twins. I am still on starter formula for breaky milk and usually one bottle a day as she said stage 2 was too far away from breast milk so I might look at taking the next step soon (although she said you never have to).

Re: grinding: Kayley was a tooth grinder when she got her first 4 but has been over that for some time now. She does still chew wveything she can though!

Anyway ramble ramble ramble me.....

Kimba - ya on the sleep in and wow on the standing - walking is coming to your house VERY soon!

Sal - enjoy tassie - it is cold but beautiful! I am with you on the bubbas - I always wanted to skip that stage!

Sue - yay on the sleep school. An idea I am still entertainng but I know I could probably get tougher again here. I don't mind the one feed a night at this stage (the second one is usually late early morning about 5 or so which will work when I return to work so that is OK as well - might try and drag it to about 6 though) so I guess I am not that tough on it.

Michelle - LOL on the keyboard keys. My arrow is working but has an interesting brown stain on it! I am sure there are lots of toast crumbs hiding in there too!!

Di - I am usually in bed not much later than that these days anyway!! Make the most of your DH sucking up!!

Sarah - I hope you have signed up by now and on the way to getting a new house!! Oh and thanks for the offer on the house sale thing but I think we have made up our mind with the slimy salesman who we think might do a good job!

Sare - yeah we think we have decided on a plan but have to go and see the display home when we are over there. We want to start building as soon as the land settles in December.

Bec - oh come on - come and let us know what is happening!!!

Oh well I might go and get dressed. Kayley woke for a few seconds and is out again. My poor snotty child!!

Best wishes for all of you!

Hey all
Well Bec: Congratulations or commiserations as the case may be. Usually once you think you might be it kind of puts the thought in your head....who knows.

Well everything is going ok here. If we don't get washed off the top of our hill I think we might get blown away today. They are tipping 90km an hour winds for the coast but hopefully as we are a smidge inland we migh be right.......looking out the window I'm not so sure- it is blowing a gale alright.

Not complaining though. It can rain like this for a month, we need it.. I'm sure I could go into hibernation

Well on Saturday I have a big meeting in Brisvegas for T/Ware. Last count I am up to about $1100 worth of stuff for free due to past sales etc. Should be good am just hoping I feel up to it. This damn cold has come back with a vengence and I am a little on the miserable side. If I don't go I miss out but 8.30-5 is a long day to sit there listening to people talk lol.

Adam is climbing on/through his obstacle course that have made in the lounge to entertain him.

Hope everyone is well
:hugs: & to all

Quiet in here!

Well we had swimming lessons this morning. I took Kayley although she has a cold as I don't think she is that bad. She was a bit grumbly but still got a sticker!

We had a busy day yesterday. Tooth number 8 popped through finally and Kayley started proper crawling most of the day (rather than little bursts here and there). Was quite funny she was after my sunnies this morning and I threw them on the couch - she jumped straight on her knees, crawled over and pulled up on the couch and grabbed them in about 5 seconds flat - hmmmmm its going to get dangerous around here!!

Our house is now on the market and hopefully we will be getting photos taken tomorrow and go from there.

Bec - congrats or commiserations - wheichever you wanted.

Di - yay on the Tupperware!

Sarah - I hate that too - I always copy my posts now before I post them just in case!

Well I gotta run. Best wishes to you all.

Hi all,

Well i dont have much to report as i am down here in tassie without my little man (and big one too) to keep me company.

Apparently Nedd had an ordinary night again last night, however DH gave him panadol as soon as he woke and co-incidently he was awake every four hours :detective: that sayd teeth to me!!

I will get home about 5pm tomorrow so i will get a couple of hours to play with my munchkin before his bedtime.

It has been fantastic weather here and even though I am working I almost feel like I am on holidays- gotta love the beauty of Tas, it is all so old world....

I am just sitting here doing some admin and waiting for room service, quiet night- figure I need to make the most of a couple of good nights sleep.

Beck- Yay for Kayley, clever chook!! Its amazing once they realise they can do something how quickly they just take off! How is your ankle? That nasty piece of work, I woulda wacked her back...though when I played the worst i copped was a too high swing which I copped in the jaw which dislocated- its never been the same again, violent sport that!!!

Kimba- its not going to be long before that little man of yours is walking!! Bet he is the first one!

ok room service is here so i best go eat whilst hot!:)

Di- Hope you dont get too blown around- great job on the t/ware. I just kitted me pantry out and I love it!!! There is so much more i want though, I'm in love with the stuff.

Well I'm back on, bit disappointed today as we found "the" house, it was put on the market Friday, we saw it at lunchtime, by the time I spoke to the agent at 3 there was already an offer on it. Pooh!

No major commiserations necessary for the neg test, still no AF so it wasn't really likely, I just had a few funny symptoms & it's like Di said - once it was in my head I had to rule it in or out! Still, might as well enjoy our once a week babymaking efforts though, tee hee.

Hey Sal - enjoy the rest! I love room service too. Hope it's yum. Where in Tas are you?

Beck, wow on the proper crawling! Amazing what they can do when they reeeeally want something (much the same as us I suppose :D ) Ella got really fast over a couple of days so you'll have to watch Kayley now! Also it sounds like Ella and Kayley are still on par with the sleep thing - Ella usually sleeps til 5ish, then a boob, then back to sleep til 6 or 7. Still seems amazing to get that much sleep uninterrupted - although I often wake up when she stirs, even though she goes back to sleep.

Di can't believe the weather for you coasties! When we left Sydney Sunday morning it was bucketing down - but sure enough only a little sprinkle here. Hope your house is still there in the morning and you are feeling better before the T ware bonanza. What does $1100 buy you - a canister set ?:p

Sarah - hope the time with DH was lovely. Or should I hope it was crappy so you were glad rather than sad to get rid of him?

Kimba - wow, standing up by himself! He'll be zooming around soon. re finger foods, I've been collecting recipes for a while off the net but they're at work. Want me to pm them to you?

Sue - so so glad sleep school went well for you! Hooray!!!! you'll be a new woman.

Better go look at Ebay so this post doesn't grow anymore.

Hi girls,

Just a quick one to say hi. We're still having sleep troubles here. It's not so much the number of times that Lara is waking that is making it so tough, it's that she won't settle at all for dh and screams and screams until I cuddle her. It's nice to be loved so much, but can I be loved at a reasonable hour  .

Not much going on here ... no luck with the car on the weekend. It was ok, but had a few marks and dents and frayed seatbelts. So was a no-goer. We'll keep on looking as we're not in a real rush.

I have an Eloise free day tomorrow as she is spending the day with her grandparents. She's driving dh and I bonkers at the moment...just ignoring everything we say. I will definitely hop on at some stage during the day to do dome personals. But I wanted to say to Bec that I was sorry to hear about the BFN and the house. I'm sure that both will happen in good time.

Have a good night's sleep girls :wizard: ... I'm keeping my :fingerscrossed: that we have a good night here too.

I'm so mean. Abbey wanted to get up at 5.30 this morning, and i used boobie to distract her for a bit, then snuggles and face stroking, but nup, she wanted to get UP. So i put her on the bedroom floor, closed the door, threw toys around the room, opened the curtain so she could see, and went back to sleep. For an hour! She woke me up pleading for her breakfast, sooo hungry mummy..... Poor thing was so excited to see her toast this morning, she raced across the room grinning madly. At last - breakfast!

I'm making it up to her by giving her a spoon with hot chocolate dregs on it. You know, the ultra sweet, marshmallowed sugar mix on the bottom? mmm responsible parenting.

Sare - do you think Eloise will have a calming effect on Lara at that age, or teach her how to be ratty in the most effective ways?

Sal - love room service too. Especially when someone else pays for it. I cant believe some hotels dont do room service though and still think they are entitled to stars. What do they think people go there for? Sleep?

Di - have fun at the tupperware thingy. I want to have a party but i have a couple projects i need to clear before i can think about anything else. Ive got some friends already lined up to attend, but they would prefer to come to a 'toy' party. Got any 'toys' in your tupperware truck?

Oh, i fixed my keyboard. I got an old toothbrush, turned the lappy on its side and went to town. I declared it clean once i snapped my letter A off and couldnt get it back on. Im pressing a little rubber nub until someone handy visits. See how cleaning never ends well??

Hi girls,
Michelle - Hope you have fun today with Abbey bouncing off the walls after her sugar injection!
Bec - Bugg@ about the houe, it is heartbreaking when you find something you like and it disappears
Sare - Enjoy your Eloise free day! We're the same here with night time wake ups, I don't even bother with dh as Sophia just laughs at him and thinks it's playtime, or will not settle at all.
Sal- Hope you had a wonderful sleep with no wake ups hmmmm, JEALOUS!!!
Beck - Yay on the proper crawling, as Bec said they get real fast real quick so watch out! She must be very pleased with herself.
Di - I think you have a t/ware problem, what on earth are you going to do with $1100 worth?!? Your dh will open his sock drawer and find them all in separate containers:laughing:
Kimba - OOOH, he will be walking soon, how exciting.

OK, miserable few days here. I have been sick as a dog and so has dh so we have both been home and miserable, not a good combination. Sophia is great though and has been enjoying the company.

Thanks for all your comments re: weaning/feeding. I have decided to write down what I am doing atm and then write dowwn what I want to be doing and work out a plan how to get there, hopefully it will be that easy!

Alright, better go throw myself in the shower see ya later.

 I'm utterly knackered, had the worst night I can remember last night! Jet was absolutely screaming at 9 and it took me ages to calm him down. Then he woke at 12, and again at 2 and wouldn't resettle, at 3 I brought him to my bed but he kept crawling and climbing and I was worried he'd fall off, so back to his cot, where he kept whinging on and off till 4. Every time I went in, he'd be sitting or standing in his cot. Finally at 4 we both got a bit of sleep but then he was awake again at 6. I can barely function at work today. I assume this means more teeth coming, but who knows...

Georgia - hope you feel better soon! I can't stand being around my DH when we're both sick either...Oh BTW we will be in Sydney on the 14th Oct after all, as we aren't going down the coast till the 20th now, so if the invite is still on offer for Miss Sophia's bday let me know

Oops Boss is calling BBL for the rest!

Hey all,

Still snotty(TMI) in the head and really over it.

Adam's top tooth has just cut the gum so soon we will be the proud parents of 3 teeth lol.

The sucking up is over - the poor baby:rolleyes: (DH) has a cold so seeing as I am "getting over mine" he needs to be cared for....

Hey georgia - he already has containers in his drawer lol, only joking. Not too sure what the stuff I get is but hey.....it's FREE!!!!!!!!! I don't even know if it's T/W or not. I just assume it is. But then again I have a pizza maker, doona covers, dinner set, scales, remote controlled car and a toy box that I have won from them (and they definitely aren't T/W).

Michelle: We have toys for the kitchen lol. The new catalogue is released on Saturday so it will be interesting to see what's in it. Until then I have no idea. I'm sure you could combine a toy party.:D

Hope everyone else is going well. Think I will be in bed early tonight. Still windy but not as bad as yesterday, raining a little .

Just popping in quickly to say Hi, havent caught up on all the posts yet but hopefully will get a chance to tomorrow when Tahni goes to Pre-School.

Have been flat out lately trying to organise as much as I can for the wedding... have 3 birthdays to organise (sept, oct and Nov) so will be very busy until February at this rate!

Jacob is ONE in less than a month... Hasnt that gone fast!!

Am slowly weening Jacob off BF, by 13 months the plan is to begin him on watered down cows milk. Am feeling a little sad that I wont be BF anymore..... EVER!

Teeth : Still none, id say Jacob will be like my 2 DD's and get them once i stop BF.

Sleeping: Usually has a sleep just after lunch from anywhere between 20 minutes and an hour (sometimes longer if the girls arent too hyperactive... which is very rarely) and at night he goes down at 7.30 - 8.00pm, wakes around 11pm for a top up feed and if im very lucky will sleep until 6.30ish. The last few nights he has been a little unsettled tho and wakes a couple of times so fingers crossed he sleeps through again tonight.

Solids: Still going great on solids, although at lunch time he will only eat part of his sandwhich and pulls the rest apart just to throw off his high chair. My DD's pick it up for him which he thinks is fantastic cos it means he has more to throw off again... cheeky little monkey!

Still having trouble getting Jacobs video of him walking onto photobucket... if anyone has MSN and would like to have a look, PM me your address and I will put it in share files for you.

Anyway, better get going.. Hope you all had a fantastic sleep and hopefully will be back in tomorrow for personals.

I finally got Jacob's video onto photobucket. I thought it might of been having problems as everytime I tried to put it on it would take forever.... turned out that the combination of problems was a slow dial up and well my impatience, who would have thought

Hi all

Sorry I didn't get back on for rest of personals last night, I was so tired I went to bed even earlier than usual. Jet obliged me by only waking at 10 and 4.30 which is the best night all week, although DH woke me at 2.30 anyway when he went to work . If I could only coordinate the 2 of them to only wake me once a night, at 2.30! Even better, if DH could resettle/ feed Jet at 2.30 and let me sleep ALL NIGHT!!!! (dream on Kimba)

Found out yesterday that Jet made it into the finalists for the Baby Boost Fresh Face competition, but wasn't one of the winners. But that's cool, they got 6000 entries or something so I'm really proud that he was one of the finalists!

Christy - Jacob is such a cutie! Such a clever boy walking :yelclap: You gotta love that he has no teeth yet, I love gummy baby grins and it makes BFing so much more pleasant when they aren't fanging you!

Di - LOL at Tupperware in the sock drawer, after seeing your pantry I wouldn't put it past you! :p Yay on Adam's 3rd tooth and hope you feel better soon.

Hope everyone is having a good day. I'm going out to lunch with some workmates and my prospective new boss so that should be interesting. Have felt a bit neglected / unwanted at work since returning from maternity leave, plus we're in the middle of a company merger and our dept is being split up, so I was feeling pretty anxious as to where I'd end up. But I got an offer today to change depts IF I want to (the decision is up to me) so things are looking up a little. Not sure whether to jump at the chance, or whether it's 'better the devil you know'...hmmm.

Oh my goodness Christy, thats awesome. Dont you just look at that and think "You are too small and should not be walking. It looks weird. Sit down"?

I think someone scienty worked it out once and said that a baby walking was scientifically impossible given the size of feet and proportions etc. Or maybe i dreamed it.

Hi girls,

Sorry I didn't get on yesterday for personals, we're having a bit of a shocking time here with Lara's sleep and we are all exhausted (well except for Eloise who is able to sleep through anything). I spoke to my MCHN today after a shocker of a night (2.5 hrs of screaming for mummy) and it looks as though we will be off to sleep school. Mitcham hospital, where I had both of the girls, has a mother and baby unit and as it is private, the wait is shorter than some of the other places in Melb. We were told it would be about 8 weeks, but may be shortened when they take all things in to consideration (#1 being age, as they only accept bubs up until 12 months). :fingerscrossed: we get in sooner or Lara breaks these bad habits that she has developed.

We're still on the hunt for a car...I'm spending more time on carsales and the like than I am on bub hub these days  A friend of my aunty is interested in buying our car and gave me a call just after 8am this morning. She asked for Michelle and I was almost ready to abuse her for ringing so early, when she asked if I was Colette's niece. That would have definitely meant no sale LOL

Kimba - :yelclap: to Jet for making the finals. He is bound to get some modelling work soon, he's just so adorable. I hope he gives you a better night sleep tonight.

Christy - I promise to check out the video when I have a bit more time. Sounds like Jacob is a little angel.

Di - Glad to hear that you are feeling a bit better. What is it with these men who think they are dying when they have a bit of a cold?

Georgia - Hope you are feeling a little better. Good luck with the weaning process. I'm sure it will go smoothly for you and Sophia.

Michelle - Not sure what effect Eloise is going to have on Lara :detective: They seem to egg each other on which is a bit of a worry. I'm thinking dh and I may be in for a bit of strife when they learn to conspire against us.

Well better go and eat dinner. Hope you all have a good night and ALL babies (you listening Lara???) sleep well tonight. Looking forward to catching up with the Melb mums tomorrow.

Hi guys,

We're having a bit of a weird week here. DP asked me to come home a bit early from work on Tue, as Ella was really sad & also hot. He gave her panadol & by the time I got home she was 38 deg. That night she slept til 2.30, then when she woke up she felt really hot, so I took her out of her sleep suit & took her temp (37.6), gave her her milk, but then it took nearly an hour to get her back to sleep, and she woke again an hour later sobbing. Anyway then she slept til 7.30 - and she's been much the same ever since. Gets warm, very sooky, and is taking a while to go to sleep. But then this evening, after being very sad all afternoon but having 2 hour long naps during the day (big for her!), she fell asleep mid feed.

Not sure what's going on, but she's never fever-hot, no other symptoms of illness -she just doesn't look well? What do you guys think? I might take her to the doc tomorrow just in case. I'm sure they're used to hypersensitive mums in there.

Sare, sorry to hear you're having a wretched time of it. Good luck with the sleep school. Isn't it weird they dont' take babies older than 12 months! Like after that age you magically no longer need help? Have fun at the Melb mums catchup. Jen & I are having a Canberra meet on Saturday, I'm really looking forward to it!

Michelle - I thought my Mum & I were the only weirdos who thought they remembered something happening but in fact only dreamed it!:p

Kimba, good luck wiith the possible new job! I'm going for a new job too - much better position but we'd have to move... it's replaced a mortgage for what I lie in bed at 4am after Ella's feed thinking about! Hope Jet continues improving his nights.

Christy how cute is that vid... he should have been making aeroplane noises he just looked like he was cruising around!

Georgia - thanks for the commiserations bout the house - maybe it was a sign not to buy cos I'm going to get this great new job.. :fingerscrossed: Glad Sophia has been cheering you up, what a cherub! Re weaning, you could also try the ABA helpline for info, I've just rang them this week about weaning too & she was very nice.

Have a good night's sleep everybody. :babydust2:

Hi Everyone!

Well I have to say it- I am absolutely smitten with my man at the moment. He still isn't sleeping that well, but he is so charming during the day i can't help but love him...not to mention that being away from him for two nights- last night I was secretly glad when he cried out during the night- I brought him in with us at 4am, was just hanging for an excuse to keep him close.

Anyway- a couple of cutsie new tricks:
One I think he picked up from the older boys at daycare- tonight he spent most of the night pushing his cars and trucks around and actually vibrating his lips to make the broom broom sound- It was super cute, and he only did it when he was pushing the cars so i don't think it was co-incidental!

Another one he is just getting the hang of is making indian noises- hand over mouth and making noises. He does it on command at the moment. He was doing it tonight when he should have been going to sleep so I did it to him as I walked into his room- he just looked up at me and giggled, aw my heart melted!!

I was so glad to get home last night, not that I think he was that fussed wether I was there or not. But I got some hugs all the same. Although today I had another full on day as my manager was with me (she who is childless and not a maternal bone in her body) so I had to put in a full day....I am not working tomorrow so I can spend lots of time with my man.

Is anyone else having trouble taking photos at the moment? Everytime I get the camera out, Nedd wants it so comes rushing over to see me. GRRRR!

He is also eating like a horse- I am not sure if I should just keep feeding him, or put a limit on it, what is everyone else doing? For example today for lunch he had: sandwich, 1/2 banana, cheese stick, yoghurt, and some mandarin pieces and some avocado. Thats not even mentioning the amounts he is putting away for bfast and dinner.

Bec- Sorry to hear Ella isn't herself. I would take her along to the docs- you know what they say about mothers instincts, and you clearly think something isn't right. Bad luck about the house too (I remember Ballarat was going through a boom when we bought- we saw our house on a sat morning and had to have our offer in by 2pm that afternoon- otherwise we would have missed out- as we already had on several)

Sare- :hugs: for you. Hope you get into sleep clinic- I really feel for you, specially when you have had a glimpse of what good sleep can be like- I think thats the hardest.

Kimba- go Jet on reaching the finalists. I often discuss wether I could quit working and just get Nedd into modelling to make our income   I think I'd make a great child model mum!!! Hope tonight is a good night for you too!

Christy- Nice to hear from you! I can't believe it is so soon for Jacob to be one!!! Oh its all coming around too quickly! That vid is way too cute- but I second Michelle, he is too little to be walking so proficiently!!!!

Sorry to hear your not well Georgia, take it easy and let Sohpia give you lots of cuddles!

Michelle- how's Abbey go with her sugar fix?!?! I love to test the waters every now and then with stuff like that... And love the work on making Abbey entertain herself, now to just teach her how to load BE :D

Ok, I am off to bed....We are having a surprise party on sat night for my parents- they both turned 60 this year, so tomorrow will be busy preparing for that....

Sending lots of healthy and sleepy vibes to all mums and bubs!

I have just done up a roster, showing who is looking after Sam (Mummy, Daddy, Granny) during the day (Wed, Sat, Sun), who takes/collects Sam from creche, what we are eating each night and who is interstate for the next MONTH! I have cooked up meatballs, tuna & potato patties, thai chicken balls and am about to make goulash. I have two overnighters coming up and DH has been shiftworking in Canberra and Sydney. Talk about complicated! I keep telling myself it will all be over soon and I'll then have a break. For the next five weekends, I'm on my own. AGAIN. Should have waited to go full-time at work.....

I am home today because Sam has chronic dairrhoea (since Wednesday) and has managed to ruin the carpet in his room. The carpet guy said it will never go back to normal, so now I get to buy a cool rug :D The drawback is that I just bought a buffet and bedroom suite and have spent all my cash. So, the yellow stain will have to stay until I save up my travelling allowances.

The whole walking baby thing is freaking me out. Sam doesn't stand up on his own as yet but will stay upright if I put him on his feet. He is crawling all over the house now and even though he is ill, he's as happy as ever and drinking from my glass. I tried every sippy cup under the sun but it seems he wants to skip that step! I was unsure for a few days but now I'm positive Sam is saying 'Mum.' We get "mum-mum-mumbmum-bmum" and "da-da-Da-DA!" quite often. Usually followed by arms up for cuddles. He also tried to say "bucket" the other day while he was watching the washing machine (front loader). He had the mop bucket and after some coaxing, managed "Buh-k". I hate to say it but we think "duck" was Sam's first word used in context. How sad is that?!

Seems he will be an early talker, which makes up for the late sitting, crawling and standing. Tuesday night DH picked him up from creche. He was spotted and got a loud "Da-dah!" much to DH's delight. It really freaked us out and now we can't shut Sam up. He is very pleased with himself.

Well; better go as I have to cook and do 3 hours work after Sam goes to bed tonight and write a job app (for promotion).

Looking forward to our Canberra meet, Bec!

Jet 'helped' me vacuum again this morning, he totally adores the vacuum cleaner, it cracks me up.

He kind of stepped between the TV bench and another shelving unit today (there's a gap and he can't touch both sides at once) but still not walking yet. Phew.

Sleep is still all over the place, he wakes at least twice a night now. I've kind of resigned myself to the fact that he's one of those kids that won't sleep well till he's 2.

Eating is marginally better, he's eating in his highchair again but still doesn't eat much at night - then wakes hungry and wanting at least 2 feeds overnight . It's frustrating but what can you do??? I've tried giving him less in the afternoon so he's hungry for dinner at night but that didn't work, and also tried giving him more snacks during the day, but it doesn't seem to make any difference to the night feeds.

Jen - you are superorganised! I'm very impressed. That's so cute how Sam is talking. Jet seems to have regressed in the talking stakes and says less now than he did months ago, he almost never says Mum any more, just lots of jibberish, and everything is 'Buh!' or 'Buh?' LOL. He does say 'Baaah' at bathtime though, which is the closest to a real word he's come yet.

Sal - I am loving this age too, they just seem to get cuter and cuter don't they? Jet's also been driving his cars around and I too suspect he picked that up from daycare. I can't believe how much Nedd eats!!!! That's about as much as Jet eats all day some days. You're lucky Nedd's a good eater, I bet you don't have any mealtime battles.

Bec - if it was me I would have taken Ella to the doctor just to be sure, especially since it was unusual behaviour for her. Who cares if doctors think we're overanxious! I'd rather be sure, there are so many illnesses that start off presenting just as a fever, it's best to get it checked. Anyway how is she doing now? did you take her to the doc, if so what was the verdict?

Sare - sorry you're having such a hard time with Lara's sleep! you poor thing, I can really empathise. I hope that sleep school does the trick for you! sometimes I wonder if I should take Jet back again, since he now averages at least 2 wakeups per night, I feel perpetually exhausted. DH never gets up to help out either, even though Jet is on bottles now, there's no reason why he couldn't. DH says he doesn't hear it. Lucky him to be so deaf!!!

Better go and finish off all the housework while DH sits on his lazy ar$e as usual! I don't know why he thinks that he deserves to relax and sleep more than I do :banghead:

Hi all,

well fist thing first we are very excited here cause Nedd has just slept through (well resettled himself atleast) two nights running!!:smiliedance: Please please let it continue for a little bit anyway!

We are having a surprise birthday party for my mum and dad tonight- they are both sixty within a few months of each other.

We thought we would be clever and have it at their house- as it is new many of their friends haven't seen it yet. But my dad (typically) has been awol all day so we haven't been able to get out there and set everything up in case he came home again....he was meant to be here with me helping paint our front fence. We just tracked him down and he is on his way so there is now a mad rush for my siblings to head to their house to set everything up.

So it has been an interesting day- with my bro and SIL here from Gippsland, and having to just drive around with three kids in case dad turned up.

Meanwhile I have been busily cooking all day in preperation.

But hopefully it will all go off without a hitch- I can't wait to see their faces. Dad knows we are up to something, just not what or when, Mum doesn't have a clue, and was apparently quite despondent last weekend when her actual birthday was cause no one paid it much attention!

Hope everyone else is enjoying their weekend! :)

Im just dumbfounded that my baby didnt win the huggies cutest baby competition. How can this be??? Its impossible! You had to take a photo of them in Jeans for Genes day merchandise - here is one of my entries http://s117.photobucket.com/albums/o76/mjelly/?action=view&current=8.jpg. Well big raspberry to them, cos i have a mothers eyes and my babby is the cutest little babby in all of mexico. (except for yours of course)

Guess what i did yesterday. I made my ex change a stinky nappy! His first nappy ever, and it was a doozy. Normally they are solid and no mess no fuss, but not this one. It was a good effort on his behalf, just clueless. A one handed feeble smearing while i held her down. I had to redo it once he was done - he actually suggested he'd done it 'good enough' and was happy to leave her less than elephant-fresh!

Oh my sugar distraction the other day didnt work out so well. Now i cant have my morning hot choc in peace. Abbey stands next to me asking for some, and if i give her some she licks the spoon clean and throws it back on the table and asks for more. Ive created a sugar fiend!

We're almost walking here, with a constant stream of baby babble to accompany it. :ecomcity: It sounds like words, but it isnt, not yet. She wont repeat words i say, not even mum or hello, words she has said before. She's just like her dad was apparently, working on things, perfecting them, and then moving on until she can speak in sentences. Stubborn little booger. As for walking she wont do it while she knows im looking, but i keep catching her taking a step or two before she trips over a toy or sees me and plonks back down. I swear one of these days she will stand up, say "I'll just get myself a cup of milk, shall I? Want anything?", walk over to the fridge, pour it, drink it, and sit down again like its the most normal thing in the world while im wondering what is posessing my baby.

Sal - how did the suprise party go? Manage to pull off the suprise? So cute about the brrmm noise. I tried to teach abbey that yesterday but she just thinks mummy is funny and wants to watch ME brrmmm instead. Re food, if he's sleeping through i wouldnt reduce his food. He's a healthy size and will eat you out of house and home soon enough. Abbey eats a lot too but she knows when she is full. Thats when things get squished or thrown. She will keep eating idly until i take it away or she gets distracted though.

Jen - you are indeed scarily organised, and scarily comitted. How can you decide whats for dinner a month in advance? What if you want something else? I change my mind about what i want halfway through eating and always have half eaten meals in the fridge. But i mouse everything.

Bec - hope Ella's okay

Michelle

Hi guys,

Ella is still not herself but no more fever - just lots of grizzling & crying. I had a brainwave this morning though - dug up an old bag of treasured toys from my childhood. What a winner! She is currently talking to my Little Miss Makeup (anyone else remember her) and was very taken with my old knitted teddy with a bell in his ear. Maybe it's just a developmental stage, sort of compensating for what a little angel she was while the IL's were here! But I am Definitely taking her to the doc on Monday if she's not cheered up. (would have taken her on Friday if not for DP's "nah, just wait & see"!)

Sal hope the surprise went well! We had a party for Dad's 50th, no suprise but we shipped in his old mates from National Service as a surprise- the face is always worth it if you can pull it off! Also how cuuuuute with the Brooom Brooom noise!

Michelle your pic is obstinately refusing to download for me but I'm sure once it arrives it'll be adorable!

Kimba Ella's doing much the same thing with sleep. We've gone from waking up once at 4.30 to twice again. I was really stressing about how to wean her at night but I've just decided I'll have some formula or cows milk ready to go at night & she can have that. I am finally ready to wean! With the fever, she's never actually clocked in on the thermometer at "fever", (hottest was 38) she just felt really hot to me & DP. If it'd been higher I would have been to the doc before now.

Ella is now happily scrunching a plastic sleeve at me. So much for the toys (antique or new!)

Hi girls,

Bec - So what's your plan with weaning? I'm ready too just working out the "how to" part. I just think if I don't do it now I never will.
Michelle - Abbey looks gorgeous in that photo though I don't think wet t-shirt contests is very "Huggies"
Sare - Go the Pies last night, I watched a bit but had to switch as I couldn't take it!
Sal - How was the party? I bet your parents were thrilled! and Yay on Nedd sleeping through
:yelclap:
Kimba - Of course i'd love you to come for Sophia's birthday if only I could find somewhere to have it! I think I need to do a reccy of some parks and find a good one. "I don't know why he thinks that he deserves to relax and sleep more than I do" I think that would be on account of being a man! I had the same feeling when dh was sick at the same time and he would lie on the couch all day and watch telly under the blanket and I would do all the housework and look after Sophia
Jen - Wow, you are organised, good for you!! Hope Sam is feeling better after his runny bum bums and you have a nice meet up with Bec :)
Di and Sue - Hope you're ok up there :rain:

Hi chickies, been busy and still sick which is very boring. DH has been away the last couple of days which has lefy me to do some spending!! It has been fun and I am trying to buy some more feminine clothes and maybe even wear some make up as I am starting to feel old, wish Trinny and Susannah were here to sort me out. I have found a couple of nice things as the next couple of weeks there are all the restaurant award nights which when I went last year I was outrageously pregnant for BUT wish us luck as I am always sick and nervour beforehand!
Sophia is great and is so much fun but still waking once or twice each night which I am quite used to now but she does sleep 'til 7:30 or 8:00 which is nice.
OK, enough from me and i'll bbl xx

Hi all,

well the surprise party went off brilliantly. Not a thing was suspected, even though it was a rather eloborate effort to get them back to their house when we were meant to be going out to dinner without suspision. We had my mum convinced we had bought them a puppy- when they walked through the door they both had tears, it was really great!!!

Nedd had another pretty good night last night- only one wake up call, so thats bearable.

Today was spent with my brothers and families, then doing a spot of gardening in the arvo- it is so nice to be able to get outside with Nedd, and he is thoroughly loving the oppurtunity to eat bark chips and all sorts of garden wonders.

Re weaning off feeds at night, just a suggestion which I used on occasion, and have had friends who have also used it successfully- if you are certian that bub doesn't actually need the feed then substitute with a bottled of warm water...for some reason whilst they are waking it satisfies, but they soon stop waking for it. Worked for us to drop the night feed, and worked for a friend to actually get bub sleeping through.

I have just done up a roster, showing who is looking after Sam (Mummy, Daddy, Granny) during the day (Wed, Sat, Sun), who takes/collects Sam from creche, what we are eating each night and who is interstate for the next MONTH!

Jen, you sound like me. Which when you have travel involved and long hours you kinda need to be! I also have meals planned for atleast a fortnight ahead, and prepared as much as possible. And the whole who's collecting; dropping off; whos house is nedd staying at; thing down pat too. Oh to have a simple uncomplicated job would be lovely!!

We're almost walking here, with a constant stream of baby babble to accompany it. :ecomcity: It sounds like words, but it isnt, not yet. She wont repeat words i say, not even mum or hello, words she has said before. I've been meaning to ask what everyone thinks re the whole 'talking' thing...I mean over the next few months it should start to become apparent what the technically correct "first" words of our bubbies are....problem is I don't know what qualifies!! :o I mean how do you know?!?! Whenever we feed Nedd we say yumyumyum, so now he says numnumnum when eating....does that mean he is saying yum yum?? Or we are noticing that slowly there seems to be more consistency in saying mum when I'm around or Dada when its DH....but we really aren't sure if it is just coincidental....what is everyone else thoughts?

Oh and Michelle- just love that piccie, what on earth are they thinking over there at stupid huggies?!?!

Georgia- restaurant awards nights sounds very glam!! I'll bet you will romp in a load of awards, your restaurant sounds very successful.

Kimba- Nedd loves the vacuum too, its great cause its one lot of house work I don't have to wait till he is asleep to do!

Bec- Is miss makeup the head that you could to the hair and makeup on? I think if it is I had the same one!

Well I am off to bed....that is after I clean and prepare bottles for tomorrow, make Nedds food for tomorrow, brush teeth, turn off heater, let dog in, turn off lights and tuck Nedd in....DH has just come to give me a kiss and told me "don't be too long" yeah right, maybe if you gave me a hand I wouldn't be!

Hi All

I have been MIA for the last few days. Everything going OK here. Kayley has had a few rotton nights sleep which I thought was due to her cold but that seems to be mostly gone and last night she was up a heap. She is also getting up much earlier  . I had a thought this morning about Kimba's wonder weeks and realised it is around the 44 week mark here so i hope that is it!

Sal - I am waiting for Kayley to be 100% and am going to try the warm water thing (only problem with Kayley is she takes very little froma bottle) but will try. I am also close to start weaning for real but not sure what to do with a bubba who only takes tiny bits of formula??

Michelle - I love the picture!!

Sorry girls no more time for personals here - I have to go and get some stuff scanned to apply for a rental property in Adelaide (having lots of problems finding somewhere - seems people are adverse to Rhodesian Ridgebacks!)

Thanks for the meet up on Friday girls too - it was good even though Kayley was a whingey pain!

Gotta go - mumumumumum is getting louder. Oh and happybirthday 10 months to Kayley. Nowhere near walking here but crawling is pretty much perfected and getting really fast (she still thinks she is so clever - well so do I!!)

:smiliedance: WE HAVE LIFT OFF!!!!!!!!!!!:yelclap:

Isabella has been successfully walking to and from mummy and daddy, coffee table, couch etc all day!!!!!!!!!! She can manage about 1/2 - 1 metre and then gets her wobbly boots up, but we're still so chuffed for her!

Other news, still pregnant, still tired, still reading all your posts, but still too shattered to bring myself to actually sit down and contruct anything of any sense to post back (except of course if its wonderful and exciting news!!!!!!!!!!! :D ).

Hi all

Was such a lovely day in Sydney today! We had a picnic at a little harbour beach at Rose Bay today with my aunt and her partner, and Jet was in his element, eating sand and paddling in the water.

Jet has had me in stitches all weekend, he's been pushing his little wagon all over the place while he toddles along behind it, the look on his face is hilarious, kind of amazed and proud at the same time, he thinks he's sooooo clever  although he doesn't know how to turn it around once he hits something. He's not as confident to walk alone though, just takes one step then sits down on his bum, although he's reaching and stepping across gaps now and pushing it further every day. I wonder if his ECHN will be right, she said he'd be walking by 11 months...

He also shakes his head when we say 'No', and this morning he was imitating me when I was wiping up something he spilled on the floor. Now if only I can train him to do the cleaning! LOL

Re: talking, well the way I see it is that when it's obvious that they're using a specific/ unique sound or word consistently and in context then that's talking. For us, mama and dada are still more babble than anything else so I'm not claiming them yet, but I think Bath is Jet's first 'official' word because it's a 'unique' sound and definitely gets used in context. EG he says 'Bah! Bah?' whenever we go near the bathroom door, or when we undress him, and when I wipe his face after dinner (he usually has a bath right after he eats). It's so cute.

Kristin - way to go Bella! :yelclap: I hope you've got your running shoes ready. That'll be fun, chasing her around the house while pregnant! LOL

Beck - happybirthday 10 months to Kayley. Hope she's over her 'wonder week' soon, Jet seems to have settled down a lot since that week, although is still waking 1-2 times a night. Good luck with finding a rental place.

Sal - glad that the party went off so well, I bet it was a lovely surprise for your parents. I tried the water trick with Jet a while back and it didn't work, but maybe it's time to give it another crack! He still doesn't eat or drink heaps in the day, so I used to think he 'needed' the night feeds, but maybe I can find a way to get him to eat enough in the day not to need them.

whoops gtg someone is babbling mamamama - if I can't get back for rest of personals, sorry, and have a good night all!

Hello

I went for a myotherapy appointment last night (a hurty massage) and I am SORE this morning!! My lovely daughter would not let me sleep in though and was awake at about 6.15 - where have my later mornings gone?:gloomy:

Anyway, just wanted to say congratulations on Isabella walking! Still so far off here. I think Kayley will be Miss average around the 12 months mark.

Kimba - sounds like Jet enjoys his baths as much as Kayley!! Kayley reay only says mum well at the moment but hasn't been babble for a while. I walk out the room and it starts. If she is hurt tired or grump it starts - she is such a mummy's girl! I think she was trying to say Cooper (our dog) the other day though. She said C, then an "oh" then a "phhh" - might have just been coincidence though as it hasn't happened since. She still doesn't say "dad" much to DH's disgust but she does know who he is (also knows, Cooper, Clyde the cat and the fishies though).

It was BEAUTIFUL weather here yesterday. Heater was completely off for the first time in ages. I went for a walk and couldn't keep the smile off my face!

Well I am going to run and read my emails. All the best to you all today.

just a very quick hello (busy day at work!) to say Hi everyone  hope you and bubs are all doing well and I got 7 hours sleep in a row last night (10pm to 5am) :smiliedance: - I forgot what that felt like! I bet I jinxed myself now though...

enjoy your day everyone :wizard:

I just learned a very valuable lesson. One i will forget in about 20 minutes. It was: If you havent had alcohol for months and months, and you drink half a glass while cooking, sit down and enjoy the feeling of dying brain cells - MAKE SURE YOU TURN THE STOVE OFF FIRST! Or at least, put the battery back in the smoke alarm before you start drinking.

Wonder if abbey likes her vegies charred or would prefer pizza?

Hi guys,

Guess what...we bought a car. It's been a bit of a pain to organise, but if it gets a positive RACV report, I should have it next week :smiliedance: We've got someone coming to look at buying my car on Thursday (before we've even advertised) so :fingerscrossed: it will all work out.

Not much else new here...Lara's still being painful at sleep time, be it at night or during the day. Eloise is Eloise, one minute so good the next :devil6: She's getting all excited because it's birthday party season for her (all the kids from mother's group) and knows that hers is coming up soon too. Not sure that I can handle 4 weeks of super-excited, silly Eloise though.

Enough of us...

Michelle - If that happens to you after a few months without drinks, I'd hate to see what would happen to me after 2.5 years. I'm guessing that it wouldn't be pretty. BTW I loved the picture of Abbey too.

Kimba - Great news about Jet's sleep. I hope it continues for you tonight. Lara does the shaking of her head to say no too. She almost shakes it right off and does it all the more when I laugh at her doing it.

Kristin - Yay to Isabella. It's so cute when they start taking those first few steps.

Beck - Good luck on the search for a rental property. I'm loving the Melb weather at the moment too. We were at a 3 year old birthday party today and the girls both had a ball being outside all afternoon.

Sal - Sounds like you and your parents had a lovely time at their surprise party.

Georgia - How are you going? Hope you are feeling better. Good luck for all the award nights... let us know how you go.

Bec - How's Ella doing now? Hope she's back to her normal self.

re talking: We have another chatterbox here. Lara's well and truly mastered the art of calling mum. She also says dad-dad, but not as often. I swear she is trying to say tickle too, it sounds like t-gol, t-gol. She is always babbling. She and Eloise seem to be having squealing competitions regularly too. Not fun when you have a sleep deprived headache. She's squealing as I type at the cat who is on the otherside of the window. She adores him, pity that he's so scared of her because all that she does is squeal at him.

re walking: She's still while off. She is cruising around the furniture and walks pushing things around the room. She can balance pretty well without holding on to things, but has shown no interest in walking independently. I'm definitely not pushing the matter. The more mobile they become, they harder they are.

Better go, dh is serving up our dinner (I cooked it though). Take care...

Hiya,
Sare - Yipee on your car, how exciting! is it bigger than your last one?
Michelle - Glad you could treat yourself to a glass of wine, always helps I reckon!
Kimba - We had a pretty similar night of sleep she woke up once at 6:00 for a feed then went back to sleep 'til 8:30, was pure bliss after the last few months but I certainly was running late this morning. Hope you get another tonight :fingerscrossed:
Beck - IKWYM about the weather putting a smile on your face it also makes me feel a bit more in the mood, now onder all our babies were conceived in the summer lol.
Sal - Glad the party was great, good on ya for doing it!re: talking, I am sure Sophia say's dada for dh but that's about it, She does also make a numnum noise while eating which is very sweet.

We had fun at the awards last night and picked up "Best French" which was great as it was tight competition and the reviews are anonymous. So roll on next week for the really important awards which I always feel sick about for a coupla weeks before hand
:o
Busy day but SOOOO loving the sunshine and 27 degree day, how lovely and it is still warm now.

Hey all,

Hot and sunny here in Sydney today, and do you think that either Jet's carer or DH were bright enough to take off the light jumper I put on him when it was a bit nippy outside at 7am? Poor bubba was in a tshirt AND jumper all day. DH was in a tshirt himself all afternoon but didn't think that Jet might be too hot :banghead: Now Jet's cheeks are flaring again (heat sets his eczema off every time) which will take at least a week and lots of moisturiser to clear up. Dammit.

Gripe over.

I am SO in love with my little man tonight. This afternoon when we got home (they pick me up from the station) I put him down on the floor and he crawled over saying 'Mama!' awwww just when I was complaining he didn't say Mama any more! Then he spilled his drink all over the floor (DH didn't put the lid on properly  ) and when I mopped it up he took the cloth and started wiping the floor with the cloth. He kept doing it for at least 5 minutes! it was SO DAMN CUTE. Then I went to the bathroom and he followed me saying 'Bah?' (bath). It just adds a whole new dimension of cuteness when they start to copy you and communicate, doesn't it? I'm really looking forward to these next few months.

Georgia - nice one on the 'Best French'! if we didn't know you owned a restaurant some people could be forgiven for wondering just what type of awards these were LOL. Good luck with the big awards and don't be nervous I'm sure you'll do well again! I hear you on not knowing where to go for 1st Birthday party, it's hard when you don't have a big backyard isn't it!

Lesley - if you go to the top of the forum there is a heading that says 'Thread Tools' if you click on that there is a menu item that says 'Subscribe to this Thread' you can set it up so that you get all the posts sent to your email. Good luck with Montanah and the doctor, we are all thinking of her and sending get well vibes!

Sare - nice one on the car! hope you're able to sell yours right away. My Mother's Group have agreed we're not all expected to attend each other's individual birthday parties, we're just having a group party for all the bubs instead, although I'm sure we will still go to a couple...

Michelle - LOL that's what I was like the first time I had a couple of drinks after more than a year 'off'. Don't drink and cook! That photo of Abbey was gorgeous what were the Huggies people thinking?

got a sms from "gumby" last night to say jhames is walking everywhere
jake my big boy turns 6 this month. i finally talked him into a hungry jacks party...thankgod. i hate them at home. 15, 6 yr olds running round gives you a headache. atleast this way the only headache will be on the hungry jacks staff.
as for eating we have 3 bottles a day and 3 main meals with the odd biscuit or 6 thrown in. b/fast is usually 2 weetbix with hot water and milk. and toast

Hey All

I am TIRED at the moment. Kayley was up more times then I would like to remember last night. She is over her cold now and I really can't see anything wrong with her so I'm a bit grumpy this morning. It seems everytime I try to drag her nighttime feeds out she tries to bring them back in even closer - maybe punishing me for trying!

She had a very slight red cheek this mroning but nothing huge so I don't think it is teeth but the next ones are the molars so as she has had so much trouble with the rest of them........

I think I am going to try some Brauers calm and see if that helps at all.

Anyway - congrats Georgia about the awards - that is fantastic.

Kimba - I am really loving this time too. I remember when we were at about 3 months and it was pretty tough my FIL said wait until about 10 mnths - thats when they start getting good fun. I think he was right. If only Kayley would sleep. I was a bugger of a kid but I was sleeping from about 6 - 8 weeks and so was DH so what the????

Oh and with the DH doing things wrong thing. My DH was home yesterday and I asked him to put the washing on which was soaking in the bucket (Kayley had the hugest escaping lumpy horrible poo a couple of days ago) and what was on top of the washing machine. Well when I went in there last night, half of the stuff on top was in, the bucket was still full and all her clean clothes were in there instead - I sometimes think it is on purpose so he doesn't get asked again!!

I am going to get Kayley measured and weighed at the chemist today. See if she is still a big bugger. I feel like she has slowed down this month - probably from motoring around chasing the cat everywhere!

Sare - Kayley LOVES the cat too. He is funny as he has to sit with the dog if he is inside on their bag, however, he has worked out that if he plays with Kayley he gets a free pass! It is funny watching him lie there with his fur being stretched and tail being pulled - knowing he could get up at any time but would rather put up with the pain (hmm I sound cruel don't I).

Michelle - LOL on the tea. I still have a drink or 2 here and there but haven't been really TIPSY for ages - at least hangovers are a distant memory I guess but sometimes I wish I could have a big night and just forget about everything and focus on ME!@

Well I have to get some cleaning done over the next couple of days to be in tip top condition for the weekend when we are having opens. I am trying to keep everything spotless but it is just impossible!!

Well I gotta go.

Have a grreat day everyone.

 morning all

Headsup: I've asked for mods to change my username to ~kimba~ so if they do change it and you see the new name, don't be confused, 'tis merely moi :D

Another good sleep last night 9.30 till 4.30 then back down till 6.45 noooiiiiiiiiiiiiiice. I reckon we'll have one more good night tonight then it'll change again. As usual!

beck - sorry that Kayley is still being a bugger with sleeping I wish I could offer some advice! I know you're thinking of weaning, have you tried giving her a bottle at night instead of the boob? LOL at your cat, mine is the same, she's been so starved for attention since Jet came along that she's now figured that even being wrestled and having her fur pulled and slobbered on is better than being ignored. She's good with him though, she never bites or swipes at him, she just runs away when he's too much.

Sue - sounds like Kane is going great guns now with the sleeping and he's eating really well too, good luck with the MRI

Georgia - Best Greek OMG I just spat out my tea laughing

I've been MIA too! After our disasterous (sp?) meet on Friday, I should be really be hiding for a little longer, lol! For all the girls that weren't there:
Mack and Tallan decided it would be great fun to haul a bike each, all the way up to the top of the slippery dips at the play centre. Now, I have no idea how they even managed to get them up there, as it's a fair hike of climbing! Anyway, Jarvis has just spewed some of his lunch on the floor, and I had Mary-Anne holding him for me, and I heard this almighty crash, bang! So, thinking, "bet that's my kids", I raced in the direction, just in time to see Mack come flying down the slide laughing. Then, after him, comes another almighty crash, bang, foloowed by a little ride on horse  Then, down comes Tallan! OMG!! Can you imagine if they had actually decided to be sitting on their bikes whilst doing this? I'm actually amazed that nobody got hurt. So, as punishment, I put on my grumpy voice and told them we were going home!

On a more exciting note: Jarvis cut his 5th tooth on Monday!! YAY!! He had shown a couple of signs of another one coming - a spew here or there, and he woke a couple of times during the night - but he wasn't overly upset, which was great! I never really had any problmes with Mack or Tallan when they were teething either.

Sare: How exciting on buying your new car! I love buying new stuff like that! We are in need for a newie too, hopefully it won't be long! I hope you are having a little more success with Lara's sleeping.

Kimba: Lucky you on managing to sneak in a little extra sleep - thanks JET!! I have my fingers crosed for you that he doesn't decide to change his habits! I'm really loving the talking thing at the moment too. It really is just the cutest, isn't it?

Re: Talking - Jarvis is saying Mum, Dad, Nana, Tata (whilst waving). He is really trying to get some more out through mimicking us too.

Beck: Silly DH. My DH does these sort of things too, so I have learnt not to ask anymore. I figure if he can see something that needs to be done and he takes in upon himself to do it, then that's great, but it always seems that if I ask him to do it, I only end up having to redo it once he's left the room anyway, lol! Frustrating, I know! Good luck on keeping the house 'spotless'. I wouldn't worry too much. I'm sure it won't be as bad as the house we inspected a couple of weeks ago - Crumbs and dust all over the floor, hair in the bathroom sink, cobwebs in the corners, bed not made, lol! Was a little funny, but a bit off putting at the same time, iykwim? Good luck with the opens anyway! How did Kayley go with your measuring and weighing? I spose I should go and do the same with Jarvis.

Sue: Hi! Sounds like Kane is doing well at the moment - that's great. Hope all goes well with the MRI.

Georgia: Congrats on the award - and good luck on the next round of awards coming up! Sounds like you have a great restaurant there ;)

Michelle: That photo of Abbey was just adorable, lol! I had a little chuckle and of course, the boys had to come see what was going on. They both though it was quite cute too, and joined in with the chuckle! LOL about your drinking! I have only had two good nights on the turps in the last 5.5 years, and it was probably 2 nights too many, lol! The scary thing is, if was to actually sit down and have a drink, I know I'd probably end up drinking the whole bottle, lol!

Sal: Nedd is such a cutie! It was good to finally meet you - now you can cross another Bubhublian off your list, lol!

I'm going to go and do a touch of gardening now in the lovely sunshine. Have a nice day everyone,
Sarah

 Um...that sounds like my place??? LOL!!!

Thanks for the laugh picturing you and the boys at your meetup. Sometimes I secretly think I'd like to have another boy but when I hear stories like that, makes me hope that our next bub is a girl! :p

Hi All

re: Talking -I agree with you Kimba - "when it's obvious that they're using a specific/ unique sound or word consistently and in context then that's talking", when my kids started saying words but couldnt quite say it properly i would write in their baby books what the word was and how they said it eg. Tahni said "bip" instead of bird and then when she could say it properly (or better) i would just write "more prominately at *age*.... so sal, yes i would definately class that as Nedd trying to say yumyumyum!

Bec - LOL on Jacob making aeroplane noices, will have to get the girls to teach him to put his arms out and make the sound.. then get a camera that has sound so I can show you all of course.

And Michelle I too agree with you 100% that he is too littte to be walking! Im used to it now and love it how I can squat down and open up my arms and he comes running.

Kristin - Congrats on Isabella Walking.... its scary huh?

Sare - Congrats on the car! Goodluck with selling your old one tomorrow. Couldnt agree with your more when you said "the more mobile they become, the harder they are" , Jacob most certainly keeps me on my toes! He loves getting into EVERYTHING he isnt supposed too, and yes that includes the toilet brush, bathroom cupboard, Caitlin's cupbaord - just to pull the clothes out, my bedside table....... hmmm this list seems as tho it wont end, best stop now! :banghead: But on the plus side, it is a whole new stage of them growing and I still love every minute of it.

Georgia - Congrats on the Best French award and good luck for the upcoming ones!

Sue - Thats fantastic that Kane doesnt need a dummy and can fall asleep by himself, Well done
Good thinking with Jakes birthday, i dont have a big yard either and have to try and work out what to do for my DD's 5th birthday.

Kimba - Thats great on Jet's sleeping. fingers crossed he stays in that routine for you! Makes you feel like a new person when you actually get a few hours sleep ey!
Jet sounds SOOO cute with all the new little things he is doing! It is so fun watching them isnt it! That is very cute how he says bah when you undress him etc.. I was running Jacob a bath last night and he had his leg up trying to climb in, was funny.

Well i better get going, Tahni is not feeling very well at the moment. Think the poor little thing is getting the flu that is going around. She feels bit hot, runny nose, sore throat etc so am off to get her some medicine.

Hope everyone is well and will catch up with you soon.

Christy

Hi girls,

I'm not sure whether Lara is sleeping better, or if I am just getting used to my nightly wake up calls. I've decided that I'm going to take her to a paediatric chiro to see if there's anything going on there which may affect her sleep. A friend from mother's group had her 5 month old 'fixed up' and swears that she slept better immediately. Then today I was reading First Steps, the Gymbaroo magazine, and there was an article in there about paed chiros. I've taken that as a sign that the gods are telling me to get Lara checked out , so I'm going to give one a call tomorrow. :fingerscrossed: that will give us some improvement. I know that it's not going to stop the separation anxiety, but maybe it will help her sleep for longer periods.

Christy - I hope Tahni gets better soon. There seems to still be so much flu going around. Almost everyone I speak to has had it.

Sarah - gee Jarvis teeth are all coming through at once. Poor little sausage.

Kimba - :fingerscrossed: for a great night tonight too. We've only got the 5 of us in our mother's group, so we all do a b'day party for the kids and one for family. The party y'day was the first one that Eloise went to that had party games and she just had a ball. She's insisting that we do pass the parcel at her party now - lol.

Beck - Good luck for your open house on the weekend. I had a laugh at your dh and the laundry...that's the one job that I won't let dh touch, he doesn't even separate colours, so there's no way known I'd let hime near the washing machine.

Sue - Great news about Kane's sleep. Good luck for the MRI.

Georgia - Congratulations on Best French - good luck for the big award nights coming up.
Yep, we've upsized our car. I've got a piddly Hyundai Lantra sportswagon (been a great car, it's just too small for 2 kids and a big pram). We've bought a Ford Territory, 7 seater. Can't wait to get it.

Well better go. Dh wants to work on the computer to do some deck design (might be built by 2011!!!).

Take care...

Hi all,

Well we have had a busy day here....our house is officially on the market- the sign got put up today :smiliedance: but we were not aniticipating having people through till atleast next week until our agent rang up last night and said he had an investor coming to town tomorrow and he thought our house would be suitable. So I took today off work and have been madly tidying and cleaning. I am exhausted!!

Bec I think we can lament having to keep spotless houses together over the next month or so!

It didn't help that Nedd was super clingy today, he seems to be getting sick again- last night he started coughing just as I was going to bed at 10.30, I finally settled him in my arms at 2.30  and he spent the rest of the night in my bed. Suffice to say after 5 nights of either no or one wakings my eyes were hanging out of my head today. Today his nose has been running non stop. I have does him up on brauers cough and calm so fingers crossed tonight is better.

Christy- lovely to hear from you! Love what you had to say bout Jacob running into your arms, sounds so cute!!

Sare- good move on the paed chiro- I always turn to it if their is something not quite right with Nedd...the ones her in Ballarat are fantastic.

Speaking of birthday parties- Nedd got his first invite to a party today (as in his very own invite- not just a family friend)! I was very excited for him...it is for one of the little girls at his daycare (three of us mums have cought up for a coffe a few times as our kids are all within 12mnths age), she is turning two. Now I have the dilemma of wether to reciprocate the invite for Nedds birthday- I hadn't even thought of people like that!

Sarah- it was lovely to meet you and the boys too...and boys they are!! You will have your hands full with them over the years to come. Wow on another tooth for Jarvis, he is popping them through quickly! Nedd has his four and I don't think any more will make a show for a while.

Kimba- lol at wondering if tonight will be the bad night, its been the same for us for the last week. Each night we discuss if this will be the one that goes downhill....and last night was it. Well 5nights of good sleep is a record for us since birth so I really can't complain.
Jet is sounding very adorable at the moment, doesn't it just make your heart melt.

Tonight I was trying to change Nedds nappy on the lounge room floor (bad move) and he just wouldn't stay still. So after me getting cross with him and telling him I just wasn't in the mood he turned around and gave me the biggest heart melting grin, then climbed into my lap and gave me a cuddle. awww how could I be cross with him!!Valentine

Beck- sorry to hear about another bad nights sleep...have you considered a sleep clinic? It may be what you need to give you the tools to get through it. And I am very impressed with your cat! Being so patient as to sit whilst being poked and prodded by a baby, nice one!

Sue- So glad to hear Kane is sleeping well..,bummer bout the early mornings though. I have a friend who is up your way and her little one wakes at 4.30 for the day too...seems to be a thing about the weather or something up there?

Go Isabella. first Oct bubby off and running!:yelclap:

Ok well I have a bit more cleaning to do, so best be off and actually do it so i can hopefully get some sleep tonight!

Someone just sent me this and I thought I'd quickly share:

Words from the wise:

I was out walking with my 4 year old daughter. She picked up something off the ground and started to put it in her mouth.

I took the item away from her and I asked her not to do that.

"Why?" my daughter asked."Because it's been on the ground, you don't know where it's been, it's dirty and probably has germs" I replied.

At this point, my daughter looked at me with total admiration and asked, "Mummy, how do you know all this stuff? You are so smart."

I was thinking quickly. "All mums know this stuff. It's on the Mummy Test. You have to know it, or they don't let you be a Mummy."

We walked along in silence for 2 or 3 minutes, but she was evidently pondering this new information.

"OH... I get it!" she beamed, "So if you don't pass the test you have to be the daddy."

"Exactly," I replied back with a big smile on my face.

How can a baby go through a day with only 1 x 10 min catnap and another of about 5 mins...this is after waking 3 times during the night? :hair:

We're off to the drs tomorrow to get the referral for the mother/baby unit and I'll get her checked out to see that there's no other physical problems that are causing her 'wakefulness' . Then we're off to the chiro on Tuesday. I'm now truly appreciating how much of a good and easy baby Eloise was.

Kimba - That gave me my laugh for the today...probably the only one amongst all my tears. dh has been an absolute a$$hole too, so made it all the more funnier.

Hopefully I'll be in a better mood when I am on next...

Hello lovely ladies and babies.

We are still here but been to tired to do much these days.

Update: We are pulling ourselves up on everything (both Adam & Me  i am so unfit what will I be like when my belly gets big). Adam isn't happy to just stand he want help to go wherever he likes...so I try to oblige most of the time.
Talking: I agree that when they repeat something that counts. Adam loves to wave as he is crawling out of the room or as you come and go. He waves and says bubu. We KNOW this is him saying bye bye as that's what we say. He also says nana if you show him a banana. He does the routine mumum and dadad. But not always to the appropriate parent lol.

We entered Adam in a baby crawling race the other day. The radio was running it to compensate for no horse races. All he had to do was crawl to the edge of the circle quicker than 5 other babies. How hard can that be???????????? Well, Mr social butterfly was too busy chatting up the girl baby sitting next to him and they didn't even move.....
Oh well we got a $50 gift voucher at pacific Fair for entering - the $500 winners prize would have been nice too but I guess you can't have charm and be fast on your knees too

Okie gotta go again

Love and hugs to all

GeorgiaAnne
30-08-2007, 21:15
Hi girls,

Di - That race sounds hilarious! $50 voucher's not too bad though

Sare - Oh what a day and night, I didn't realise things were so hard for you atm. Big hugs and I sincerely hope you have a better sleep tonight. Wasn't she a good sleeper for ages? Is she hungry or just crabbit when she wakes up?

Kimba - PMSL, I love it! Thanks for that.

Sal - Hope all is well with the house selling. I would hate people walking through my house with an appraising and judgemental eye but I guess it's gotta be done.

OK, had a horrible day today which I can't even go into without my blood boiling, just work stuff but grrr.
BUT...On a more positive note,
For the first time yesterday I started to feel that I could go back to the Birth Centre and try for a Vbac for next time. Up 'til now I have always thought I would go private and for the first few months I wanted another c as I was too scared after the pain of induction but now I must be silly and far enough way to get in there again

Morning ladies,

well I just have to share the cutest thing! I have been paying lots of attention to what Nedd is saying after all you comments about talking.

And I decided yesterday that he definitely knows Dada- we got home from day care and he was just saying dada dada over and over when we got inside- like he was looking for DH.

Anyway it is DH's 30th birthday today, so we took him in his pressies and I sang happy birthday, just as I finished off the last line- happy birthday to you, Nedd pipped in with "dada", it was totally on cue and just the cutest thing ever!!!! DH had tears in his eyes (and so did I) :hugs:

Apart from that we have had a rough couple of nights. We had two really bad nights of coughing and not settling- the worst one was Wed night where I got three hours of broken sleep. But I asked him nicely to sleep through for his dada's birthday- and guess what? He DID!!! So after all his coughing and illness it seems to be gone again, just like that. Meh, who can figure these kids out?!?!

Georgia- hope today isn't so stressful re work. And good for you to make such a huge decision about your next birth!

Di- that counds hilarious re the crawling contest, I swear Nedd would be the same, he is fascinated by other kids.

Sare- Fingers crossed you get in somewhere sooner rather than later, I'm hearing you- dont even want to think about how last night was for you, I'm guessing it probably was no different to all the other you've had lately. :hugs:

Kimba- thats a crack up!! I read it out to DH, suffice to say he wasn't impressed! But it was rather fitting since we had just been arguing yesterday bout the fact that I know best for Nedd (ie he woke early the other day and DH wanted me to go resettle him- I refused cause I knew it would jsut wake him up completely- left him be and sure enough in ten mins he had put himself back to sleep- DH was rather rude to me bout not going to him)

On a kinder note to all the daddies, my day carer made a little plaque for Nedd to give to DH for fathers day and it has this poem on it, its very sweet so thought I'd share:

“Walk little slower Daddy,” said a child so small
“I’m walking in your footsteps and I don’t want to fall.

Sometimes your steps are very fast,
Sometimes they’re hard to see;
So walk a little slower Daddy,
For you are leading me.

Someday when I’m all grown up,
You’re what I want to be;
Then I will have a little child,
Who’ll want to follow me.

And I would want to lead just right,
and know that I was true;
So, walk a little slower Daddy,
For I must follow you.”

Hi girls,

I'm in a more chipper (but still tired) mood after getting some sleep last night. After Lara's 2 mini naps yesterday, I expected a shocker of a night. She woke about 20mins after I put her down. I tried to resettle her, but she wouldn't so dh took her to our bed while I put some washing on. She eventually settled, but woke about 20mins later again. So I decided to let her sleep in our bed for the night. She still woke quite a few times, but at least she settled much faster.

We went to the drs to get a referral for the sleep clinic, so we are now on the waiting list. Looks like Lara may be spending a few more nights in our bed with the 8 week wait we have ahead of us. She did used to be an ok sleeper (would sleep from midnight to 6/7 or sometimes 8am) but she has been such a pain ever since dh went to Pakistan and even worse since we went away to the snow for a few nights.

Sal - happybirthday to your dh. Did you manage to book somewhere for dinner to celebrate?
That would have definitely been a melt your heart moment when Nedd said Dada on cue. They are so adorable and so much fun at this age.

Georgia - :hugs: for you after your bad yesterday...must have been something going around??? Good luck with your decision to go for a VBAC next time around. Will you be our next BFP? :detective:

Di - Adam is a social little butterfly... too cute him chatting up little girls already.

We've not got much planned for this weekend. We're not going to the footy tonight...we're all too exhausted. So I'll watch it on TV (which I find more stressful than being at the game). Then on Sunday we're going to Weribee Zoo with the ILs for Fathers' Day. What are you guys all doing for your bubba's 1st Fathers' Day?

Better go and try and settle my little poppet, she just woken. Despite her depriving me of my sleep, I love her to bits. She is such a happy little bubba and has such an infectious, cheeky laugh.
Ahh she's quiet :fingerscrossed: she's decided to settle herself.

Take care...

Hi girls,

Much better today, for some reason the things that were a disaster yesterday became sorted which is lovely and I got stuff done, yay.

Sare - I hope the sleep school is good, have you heard anything about it? I found Sophia's sleep really changed after her being sick and I think Lara was when you went to the snow, so hopefully she will sort herself out soon for you.

Sal - That father thing was lovely :hugs: and so wass him saying Dada, Sophia knows it for dh but hassn't a clue about mama being me and not something she says when crabbit.

re: bfp, dh and I have bearly had time to have a coffee together lately so i'm not gonna hold my breath .

re:weaning, not going well so far. I have made a plan to drop day feeds so I don't feed from 8:30 am 'til 4:30pm but she will not take any milk from any other source. She only seems bothered by it when I turn up at day care so not sure? I will keep at it though as she is eating really well and is drinking water, maybe she will just be one of those kids who doesn't drink much milk.

OK first things first

PHEW !!!

So pretty happy about that news, I know that might sound awful, but we are just not ready for another bubba yet.

Sorry I havent been around much but be sure I have been keeping up with posts so I know whats going on with all the beautiful bubbas and pregnant mummies!!........
Well Dont know if I have mentioned this but my little cherry has started crawling.........FINALLY.........:smiliedance: ............
She has mastered this in a very short time and is everywhere at once. So I guess it comes down to the old cliche..." they will do things when they are ready". Needless to say I am still excited about it although we did have to do a trip to bunnings for all the necessary childproofing locks.
And this morning I found the top tooth coming through, though you wouldnt know coz she hasnt been grizzly or anything.Or maybe I have been mistaking her whinging at times for tiredness or something else?????????...................
So tonight is the QANTAS ball and I thought I would be more excited, but I am so not thrilled about it. Probably coz everything I tried on made me look like a big fat heffer which in turn got me depressed and so I am wearing a dress I already had, and have gone to pretty much no effort at all.... although I am getting my hair done this arvo.
Can anyone recommend a toy that the bubbas can pull themselves up on and play with standing up.... she seems to be wanting to stand all the time but I dont have anything at the moment that she can play with as well..........am I making sense???...
Ok so I have the weekend off so i best get busy catching up on things.
Sorry about the lack of personals but I am thinking about all our bubbas and mummies and I feel a bit slack about being such a terrible poster.
Have a great day everyone.......

Guess what ... Lara slept through last night :smiliedance: (well she had one wake up call at midnight, but I was still up, so don't count that). She slept through until just after 8am. Guess who's feeling alive again?

Mary-anne - Congratulations on your :bfn: At least that's one stress off your mind.
:yelclap: to Darcy on her becoming a crawler. re the toy to stand up against: Eloise was given one of those Fisher Price activity tables, and Lara thinks it's ace. According to Lara, it's a multipurpose toy, she uses it to stand up against, for its indended purpose as an activity table and as a walker  (it moves easily on our floorboards).
Have a great time at the ball tonight, I am sure tht you will look lovely.

Georgia - Good luck with the weaning. It is such a difficult decision to make and I'm guesing even harder to get Sophia to work to the schedule that you've planned. Stick to it, you'll eventually get there.

Have a great weekend girls...

Hey everyone

Hope this finds more than just Sare a little rested.

We sleep really well until about 4.30am but then he does go to bed at 5-5.30pm so I guess he has had a great sleep by then. This morning I put him into bed and told him mummy needed cuddles and kisses. I got all that (beautiful big wet licks not really kisses ha ha) and then he went back to sleep until 7am. Would have been fantastic except it's the first morning I have felt a touch off colour and I had to get up and have a cup of tea and toast at 6...bugger!!!

Anyway not too worry.

Quick question: Has anyone else's bubs virtually given up milk???? Adam sort of self weaned himself about 3 weeks ago now. I assumed it was because I was preg again. But even with his bottles he has one that takes between 7-10 to drink. A few sucks here and there, lucky he likes it cold lol. Then he won't have another one until between 3-5. He doesn't even have one brfore bed now.

He eats like a trooper and has cereal, yoghurt & a banana for breakky, After his 6am toast.
Lunch is little boys, cheese sticks, piece of bread and another banana or orange.
Tea is vegies and meat (whatever we are having just a little more munched with the meat) and more yoghurt or fruit.
He does have 2 water bottles a day with his meals it just doesn't seem like much.

Hope all daddies have a great day tomorrow

:hugs: & to all

Hi all,

Quick update from me before I go to bed -

SLEEP is still all over the place. Some nights he wakes twice, others not at all. He refused to nap today which is really unusual, and has been unsettled since I put him to bed. Doesn't help that DH has given him a cold .

WALKING! well, a few times we've had a couple of little steps before sitting/ falling down! but I don't know whether to claim it as walking or not? He is so determined to do it though and keeps trying and will cruise around the edges of the room, or push something while walking, or 'ask' us to walk with him (he holds one of our fingers), rather than crawl.

CUTENESS Jet has started holding his toy phone up to his ear whenever I say 'HELLO' and will also try to 'talk' (in babble of course). Today I had my phone and he had his toy one and I was saying 'hi jet how are you etc' and he actually pretended to talk back to me, into his phone!! OMG I could have died of the cuteness of him. He's also crazy for wrestling us (very roughly I might add) and for mimicking us, and laughs his face off when we pull faces and make stupid noises. Playing with him is really fun now and I love it :D

EATING he doesn't seem to eat anywhere near as much as what you guys are saying your bubs eat! but he's still a big boy so I'm not too worried. He still isn't really keen on toast/ bread and is a bit fussy at times, he's also figured out that he can spit things out rather than swallow them, which is messy! but he's eating more and more of my cooking so that's good

Hope all the Dads have a good Father's Day tomorrow, I'll try to get on and do some personals in the next day or two.

Hi All

I have been busy the last few days making sure the house is kept spotless for the open yesterday (and another one today) - unfortunately my little poppet was not very helpful and has been sick!! 2 nights ago I gave her some Brauers calm before bed and she went down with no fuss and was only up once at 2am. So the next night she had it again - asleep with no fuss. I was about ready to by shares in Brauers! She woke at 11.30 and I thought - hmmm I will try some more of this! Well I got it ready and then looked into the cot and - vomit everywhere!!! Loving the chicken and peas she had for tea.

Well I woke DH up and he was helpful. Kayley continued to vomit until she had an empty tummy. DH put a new sheet on our bed with towels flat underneath it and went and slept in the spare bedroom so I slept with Kayley in there. She dry reached a bit but slept pretty well until just after 8am which is late for her.

So yesterday Kayley threw up a few times, unabel to keeep anything down but cruskits, water and a tiny bit of breastmilk. Poor chicken threw up over herself in the car - she also did one monster escaping poo - overall she was pretty good especially since we took her out to tea anyway because we had a big going away dinner on. Last night she had a little feed at 2.30am and that was it (I did have to come in and settle her in her cot a few times though). I fed her this morning at 7.20 and she threw most of that up again so it looks like she is not over it - poor chicken.

Well sorry I don't have time for personals, just wanted to mention to Mary-Anne - I am glad you had the result you wanted and we have one of those fisher price tables and Kayley loves it. Got it cheap on eBay. Was trying to get an incrediblok but kept missing out but these are good too.

I gotta run.

Hi All

Hope everyone had a good Father's Day. DH and Jet are both sick  so we didn't go anywhere, just relaxed at home.

I have some news though: Jet is walking!!!! Just 2-3 little steps at a time, but that's enough for me :smiliedance: He's been entertaining us all weekend with his phone holding/ floor mopping/ noise mimicking and now walking as well...it just keeps getting better and better.

I am so in love with him...some nights I miss him so much I wish he would sleep in my bed with me, but whenever I bring him to bed for a snuggly sleep he just wants to play or whinge or climb off the sides...sigh.

Beck - poor Kayley I heard there was a bad gastro bug going around, hopefully she hasn't caught it? I hope she's feeling much better tomorrow.

Di - re: milk, for a few days Jet hardly seemed to want any, so I cut down on the amounts, but then he decided he wants more again. He's not a huge eater though, so I guess that's why he's still drinking quite a bit of milk. I actually wish he'd eat more food so I can cut down on buying formula! And at the moment being sick, he's right off his food and wanting more milk...

Georgia - hope you had a better sleep last night and that you had a great day today

Rian - congrats on the wedding! That video of James is so cute...

sare - yay on Lara sleeping through, isn't it amazing what a difference one good night makes! hope you had another good night last night.

mary anne - LOL at that big phew I think I'd be feeling the same way! We have a Leapfrog Learning Table which is great, Jet used to love standing at it for ages and playing with all the bits and pieces. He still plays with it now but would prefer to push it across the wooden floor!

Everyone else- hope you had a great weekend.

Better get going, got some stuff to do tonight as I'm catching up with my Mother's Group tomorrow for the first time in ages, which will be fun, but it means I won't have my usual Monday at home catching up on chores!
