My DS has a bit of eczema....his GP gave us a script for some hydrocortizone cream as DS is scratching it quiet badly. I also use Hamilton Oil in his bath water :)

I use QV make sure all clothes are washed and rinsed really well (even mine so when i cuddle ds and dd they dontget it)
Her gp gave her a script for ecolin or elocin cant think of how to spell it its a mile cortizone creme, she needs to have the cold wraps too though around her joints which sucks :(

Try the bath oil hamiltons is good too as lmenz said or the qv...sadly its what works for your bubs though and cotton is best as well try to stick to cotton clothing :) this time of the year i find both my youngest break out :(

There are some great threads around on excema so do a search you will find some really good tips

I agree QV has an excellent range of products that worked well for my DD's eczema. We also started using Amolin washing liquid.

I found that sorbolene only inflamed my DD's skin.

We use Dermeze ointment for DS' dermatitis, but was told that it also works like a charm to help relieve eczema (the friend who reccommend us Dermeze uses it for her DD eczema). Best thing about it, it's ok when accidentally gets into bub's eyes or mouth

Cetephil is a great mosteriser we use it twice a day , sorbolene made my DD icthy.
Instead of soap powder grate some plain sunlight soap and use that instead, keep baths short and pat skin dry try to mosterise really quickyly aafter bath . You may need some cortisone maybe go back to your dr .

I have tried just about everything! as dd has suffered from it from day one.
And have found the following of helped..
*QV eptopic eczema bath oil
*change your washing powder to a baby one (not sure what the brands are)
*cover the areas up with cotton clothing where possible
* Natural RELIEF cream- works wonders!can be bought from most pharmacies
* Natural Salt water from the beach

I have also tried prescriptive creams but have left DD with bleached areas on her skin, so wouldn't over use these products.
Hope this helps

My DS started getting eczema when he was about 12 months, only on his face.

We tried everything from steriod cream to seeing a chinese herbalist, nothing seemed to help.

About 3 weeks ago we saw a nautropath who advised DS take some minerals, apparently becuase of our bad soil in Australia there are certain nutrients that we lack.

Anyway 3 weeks later the eczema has almost gone :yelclap:

Mind you we have also cut out lots of foods that apparently irritate eczema, Tomato, Citris fruits, capsicum and onion.

We will start to slowley re-introduce these over the next few weeks and see what happens.

I was reading in the latest Grass Roots mag - 2 people suggested the use of Ungvita vitamin ointment with Salacrin, a fish oil.
Another one suggested a bath with 1-2 cups of salt added to which a capful of olive oil is added for the last 5 minutes of the bath.
I haven't tried either of these , just thought it was interesting.

Neways products baby wash and moisturiser. worked a treat on both my kids after only 1 week of using it. no harsh chemicals to further irritate their skin.

i was prescribed a lot from the doctor and given advice to use

-elidel
-quarterzone creams
-sorbolene
-lanolin
-parrifin

non worked! DS has had excema for 4 years now since he was 7 wks old.
DD since the start of this winter - completely gone now since using the neways products for only the first week.
