Looking for an ob on gold coast

Hi,
Im not pregnant yet, but need to start doing some research. I was wondering if anyone could recommend an obstetrician on the gold coast? What hospital do they work from and what were your experiences? Are there any I should avoid?

Hi there

I am on the gold coast - and we didn't really know any ob's here. A friend put me onto Dr. Timothy O'Dowd... We were having trouble conceiving - and we initially went to him to find out what is required etc..... in assistance to fall pregnant. (To our surprise - we were preg. naturally 6 weeks later!!!):thumbsup:

Anyway - I stayed with him for my pregnancy. I found him good. He explained things really well, and I found his manner to be kind without 'beating around the bush' if you know what i mean.....

He works from Pindara Hospital - so private... He works closely with a group of about 5 - and they're all situated in the private suites near the day surgery entrance of the hospital....

My friend had 3 babies under him - and has nothing but good reports - I am with her. I thought he was great, understanding and didn't muck around... He listened to what I wanted, and he always consulted me and DP very well.

For further information - we went with Dr. David Pincus as the paediatrician for DD...

I didn't know of anyone to start with either, but went with my intuition and found a great OB/GYN. Dr Penny Isherwood who only delivers at Pindara Private. She is really cruisy and relaxed, and always has a smile. Her staff have also been fantastic, and have gone out of their way to get me into scans on the same day as my appt. The receptionist with the south african accent has been AWESOME the entire time - she is a bundle of warm fuzzy loving energy, and I look forward to my visits because of her in particular! Have been well looked after, and only had a long wait for 2 of my appts. (approx 1hr if there have been emergencies scheduled in before me) Beware though, KFC is right next door! I have it for lunch at every visit LOL!
