Hi Ladies...I posted in the "Sunshine Coast" section of the boards and another member suggested that HB Mums might post in the "Central Coast" section...I am wondering if she meant this section so I thought I would take a chance and copy my post to here in the event that was the case. My apologies if it doesn't belong here...
Hi ladies,
I don't know if I am posting in the right area of QLD but I am looking for any Hervey Bay mums.
We are likely going to be moving there from Newcastle NSW and am hoping to make contact with other Mum's from HB before we move up there.
I have worked pretty hard to re-establish "girly network" here and am now faced with leaving it and having to start from scratch again - which is what I am hoping to do by posting in places like this.
If you are genuine and honest and are looking to meet and make new meaningful friendships I would love to hear from you.
At the risk of alienating myself, I am not really interested in getting involved on a group basis and am only really interested in establishing one on one associations.
I am 30yo and have 2 daughters (1 nearly 1yo the other nearly 3yo) and am happily married to a wonderful man (altho he does have his moments :P)
Anyways, if you're interested I look forward to hearing from you by either posting or via the PM system.
Take care, talk soon."
Looking forward to receiving feedback :D
Hi Hubbabubba, I'm 27, married, live in Maryborough (25 mins from hervey bay) and don't have any kids yet but am currently TTC. I don't know if I'm really what you're after and am sure you're wanting to meet other mothers but I'm always looking to form new friendships if you're interested. Hope to hear from you.

Hi HubbaBubba,
I am a Hervey Bay mum of 3!!! Aged 6, 3 & 3 months. I have been here for 12 months and cant say that I have met a huge amount of people, except a few mums from my daughters school. Anyway, I'm always up for meeting new people so hope to hear from you. When are you planning on heading up??

Hi Meegan,
Looks like you are doing the same thing that I am :D
I wonder, how much success are you having otherwise finding other HB mums that are wanting to chat with, get to know and meet other mums.
I have to say, so far, this forum has been one of the slowest re: getting any responses from people.
I (think) have PM'd both of you in the hope of chatting more by email and MSN (if you have it)...please PM if I haven't contacted you that way as it is my preferred method of "chat". Public forums are great but I'm not much for posting lifes details on them, iykwim.
If anyone else happens in and wants to chat, please PM don't be "put off" by the lack of activity on the thread I am keen to chat with and get to know as many geniune, easy going and (generally) positive people as possible.
I am hoping to establish a social/support network for my girls and I for when we arrive in Hervey Bay in September - DH can look out for himself :P
Anyways, hope to hear from more Hervey Bay/Maryborough mums ;)
Take care, talk soon.

I'm jealous of you HubbaBubba  we bought a house at Kawungan 2 1/2 years ago with the intention of moving into it 2 years after buying it. We have had it tenanted with good tenants so no complaints there.
My parents live at Point Vernon so we usually go up 3-4 times a year when possible although having said that we haven't been up since January this year.
Looks like my DH can now get a move from Syd to Brissie now (same company) - I'm not really happy about that as I've been trying to get out of Sydney for 12 years now and I've just about given up hope - I was so close but looks like my little dream has slipped away from me.
I love Hervey Bay and have enjoyed watching it progress - been going up there since '82. Got really excited when their first traffic light went up nearly 7 years ago (I know I get excited really easily :D ). Can't wait to get up there to have lunch or dinner or just coffee at Peppers - I've been watching it go up and also hearing reports from my parents.
We went over to Kingfisher Bay Resort at Xmas - just a day trip - and really enjoyed it. Next time we come up we want to go and stay for a couple of days.
I'd love to catch up with you whenever we go up next so I'll keep you posted. There's so much going for it with the TAFE, University, I think I counted 12 or so schools (private & state). The private hospital hopefully won't be too far off plus their got the lovely new hospital across the road (well it's been there for a few years but it's sooo much better than the old hospital they had plus years ago if you wanted anything major done you had to go to Maryborough but now it seems Maryborough people are coming to HB Hospital.
Mum loves Aldi - she was sick of me saying I bought such and such from their so now she has her own. Plus I heard Big W is being built and Spotlight is also suppose to be going in.
They have a nice (fairly new) kids indoor play centre up near Aldi - took my DS there at Xmas - lot better than the old one.
I hope you settle in ok - I guess I love it because my parents live there and I've been going up for so long. The only thing my DH doesn't like is of course there's no surf (he's an ex-surfie) but it's very safe for kids. If you're hubbie likes fishing the pier down at Urangun end of the Esplanade is great - must be one of the longest I've ever seen.
sorry for jabbering on - you'd swear I was already living up there - oh how I wish - I'm just so jealous of you that's all

Hi gals!!
Keep me in mind... we will be making the move up there hopefully Dec/Jan, as long as hubby's work gets opened in time!
I still have to find daycare centres and school for the two older girls.
I will be going to Uni up there. Getting excited, time will fly by.:smiliedance:

I'm a HERVEY BAY mummy!!!
I'm only just new to this site but have been looking on other parenting sites to find any mum's like myself in the Bay. It's insane! I can't find any which is hard to believe, the place is growing so much.
I'm a happily married 22 year old with two boys, ones 3 and the others 6 months and would love to chat to any mums in the area.

:wave:Hi Ladies. I have recently moved to Maryborough with my husband and we are due to have our first baby in November.
I would love to meet up with any or all of you as I don't know any one living in Hervey Bay or Maryborough. I have been trying to find local groups of mums but its nigh impossible. It would be great to get to know some local people as most of my family and friends are back in Brisbane. I am happy to drive out to the bay to catch up with people as well.
Would love to hear from you.
Cheers.

Hi mojo
I too have been trying to organise some sort of parents social group for the area but haven't had any luck either. I've been tempted to put something in the paper.
I'm in the Bay but we don't mind driving. My hubby works in Maryborough and it's only a 20min drive or so.
How are you enjoying Maryborough?? November isn't too far away!! Are you having the bub in the Bay??
