Hi all,
hope I can get some tips or advice how to keep your bottles while out and about. What is best to make it hot and put it in the thermo bag?And for how long is it safe to do so? Or shall I prepare it cold and than try to heat is somewhere? What do you do? I am now to all this and there is just no information available anywhere. Thank you.

With ds as he was ff i had a formula dispenser(tommee tipee i think) and i used to just carry a bottle with water in it, then i could fill it with formula when he was ready for a drink, from memory i used to put it in the bag a little warmer than usual and it kept the heat, other times i took a bottle of cold water and a thermos with boiled water and i mixed it to the right temp.

The first was easier though :D

Yep they are great, its like a round plastic container sectioned off into three parts basically you put say 4 scoops in there (say for 200ml of water) depending on what formula you use. I know tommee tippee make them you can get them are kmart, target etc.

Great invention even just for a day trip saves measuring forumula if your out and about :) you just pop the lid and pour

I do it both ways...

I sometimes take bottles out in thermo bags - they keep cold for up to 4 hours. I also take my AVENT formula dispenser and bottles of cooled boiled water.....

Hope this helps

I didn't know about formula dispensers either when I had my 1st baby.....what a disaster! Trying to get the formula out of a little container into the bottle, most would end up on the floor!

So.......
I use the formula dispenser and take a bottle of hot water so when I need it the temp will be good, ready to use.
I also find stubby coolers work well as insulators for a hot bottle (or cold one). I use one with a zip.

Thank you all for your replies. It is good to hear AVENT has got the dispenser as well, as these are the bottles I have got.
I wonder why there is not more info about this kind of stuff. I kind of expected to find all relevant info on the formula can, but there is nothing.
So thank you heaps :D

yep, I found that there is a real lack of info on bottle feeding. I struggled through the first few mths oblivious to lots of things that would have made life alot easier!
Like........formula dispenser, microwave bottle steriliser..

I take bottles filled with boiled water and a container of formula, Skye is fine to have the bottles at room temp.

I use a formula dispenser too and my DS always has his bottle room temperature so never have a need to warm it up. Perfect!

Zoya likes her milk luke warm .. just like room temperature. I have been told to pre-make feeds and keep them in the fridge .. for up to 24hrs is ok. Than I put them in the warm water to get the cold edge off .. now I am thinking to make it as I go .. get the boiled cooled water in the bottles, leave them on the bench and make fresh every time I need some. Is that how you do it?? Any suggestions welcome. Thank you
