View Full Version : Abortion
Hi! I am new on this forum. Actually I was looking for a place where no one knows me and at the same time I can good some advices. I found this a good place and I hope you people will help me out. I am 2 months pregnant. I learnt about this last week and I have decided to go for abortion. Yes, you have read well. I have decided to abort this child because this is an illegitimate child. I was raped one night when I was returning from work. No one knew about this until recently my elder sister doubted that something was wrong twith me and I had to tell her everything. She told me to go for a pregnancy test and to my horror the test was positive. The doc I went to see told me that he uses diprivan to make the person unconscious before carrying out the abortion. I am scared but I have no other way out. I searched for information on diprivan (http://www.drugdelivery.ca/s3445-s-DIPRIVAN.aspx) today and found that the side effects of this drug are:
Uncontrolled muscle tremors
Inflammations and itchiness of the skin
Fits or convulsions
Breathing complications and anomalous heartbeat
Temporary unconsciousness
Throat inflammation
Severe feelings of pain or acute inflammation during injection of Diprivan I got more scared reading all this but….do you have any advices for me? Am I doing the right thing? Please feel free to tell me anything that you wish to tell me.

Lulu, I am sorry your having to face this.. the Rape, and the choices you will make after it. :hugs: :hugs: :hugs: Abortion is such a personal choice.. Im not sure I can tell you if your doing teh right thing.. Only you can know that. :hugs: I would suggest No matter what your choice, that you see a professional to talk about your situation.. its a heck of a lot to try to handle on your own.. I wish I could help more.
More hugs your way.. You will make the right decsion.
I would say get some counselling and im not sure about the drug as im not familiar with anaesthetics...it does aound a bit scary but all drugs have side effects, that doesnt mean we will experience them.
please seek help soon though, as you are already 2 months gone and in some states 12 weeks is the limit on termination...

If your unsure about the procedure or any anaesthetic that is used, discuss this with your doctor.
You are better off being more aware and well informed then just jumping into it blind.
If you may not be comfortable with that doctor, try and find another. There are women centres around and ones that only deal with terminations.
I can understand why you want to go through it and it probably is the better idea.
Nobody has the same experiences when going through it, and we all react differently... but if you need support before, during, after or anytime, I'm always available by PM or on here.

So sorry you are having to go thru this Lulu, life sucks sometimes huh?
I have had 2 abortions, using that drug and suffered no side effects either time.
The people in recovery are fantastic and caring.
Feel free to PM me, if you have any questions, I'd be only to happy to talk about it:)

Hi Lulu,
Are you in Australia?
If so, perhaps you could go to your local family planning clinic and ask to speak to a nurse about it, they should know lots about the drug and the procedure. Usually you don't even need an appt, just walk in and wait till someone is free :)
Just wanted to say i am really sorry honey:hugs:
I would definately seek some counselling.
