Hi, I just found out I was pregnant 2 days ago (so still in a bit of shock). I've been reading lots of these posts trying to figure out what I am ment to do.
Going to see the GP later today. I might be a bit clearer after that.

anyway, can anyone recommend a Dr in Brisbane, and good or bad experiences?

Thanks:babydust2:

Firstly, congratulations on your :bfp:
Secondly, welcome to bubhub!!

Picking an OB will depend on a number of factors
1. Are you going to have your baby in the public or private system. If public, you don't get to choose, but in private you do.
2. Where do you live and where do you want to have your baby? Not all private OBs, can deliver babies at all hospitals, so that can narrow the field of choices.
3. Will you be wanting to give birth in a birth centre, or in a program run by midwives, in which case you don't need to worry too much about having an OB, especially if you are young and healthy now and during pregnancy.
4. Getting advice from your GP, Bubhub, other people you know, is always useful. Also you need to ring and book into an OB pretty quickly as most of them fill up quick.
5. Do you have a preference for male or female OB? Do you want one that is c/s friendly?

Good luck :fingerscrossed: with your pregnancy and finding the right OB!!

Gosh, so much to think about!!!

I want to go private and I have been reading about different hospitals here on bubhub and I think The mater womans private cause most people had great things to say about that.
I had a c section at 36 weeks with DD so I think I will want another section.

Hello, and CONGRATULATIONS!!!:) :) :)

If you wanting to go Private i strongly recommend Dr Price.

Northwest is just a small hospital but the staff are lovely and i found Dr Price to very precise and down to earth.

You should check out his website if your intersted.

Hi,

Do you know if David Lingard charges a management fee up front?
Thanks,

Hi there,

Congratulations on your pregnancy! I had my fourth child last September and my OBGYN was Dr Graham Tronc, who works out of the Wesley. I found him to be great and I had all my children at The Wesley Hopsital and was very happy :)

Good luck:babydust2:

I had DD just 3 weeks ago via CS at Northwest with Dr Price. He was fantastic. Always made me feel comfortable and welcome, and explained everything. He also had the time to chat, which was nice for a change. He also has a lovely midwife who works with him.

The other OBGYN I would recommend in Dr Eva Kretowicz. She delivers at the Mater, and the Wesley. She delivered and managed me first pregnancy with DS. She is lovely. She is based on the Terrace, and her fees were reasonable. The only reason I didn't go with her for DD was becasue we had a terrible experience with the Mater with DS and I would never set foot in there again even if the hospital paid me to.

If you need more info on either of the Dr fees just let me know.

Hope this has helped.

I had my baby in the mater private hospital with Dr Josephine Cheung. I had an elective caesar and she did a fantastic job. Our paed Dr Prado was great too. i had some troubles breasfeeding and they let me stay in hospital to sort it out.

Dr Cheung kept a close eye on my weight which was annoying at the time but now i am glad iykwim. i will go back to her again for sure.

Guess I am a bit late but I can recommend my OB Dr Gino Pecoraro. Was SO happy with him. He was the right combination of relaxed and easy going but cautious as well.

I'd be interested in Eva Kretowicz's fees if you could fill me in. Thanks.
