View Full Version : What am i going to do with her??
My DD who's 2 this month is always tipping out her drinks:hair: I use a cup with a lid for her milk and a pop top type of drink bottle for her water... Shes always tipping them out.... im always finding her tipping her water into her tea pot/cups, on the floor or just over self:banghead: Its driving me nuts!! She does it most with her water thank goodness, but it's a pain in the butt, always having to mop up her mess.... Has anyone got any suggestions for me???

Is it a normal kids sipper cup?
We use Avent... its fantastic never leaks... its $17 but well worth it. I tried giving phoenix a cup just a normal one... but everything was getting destroyed.
No its not will have to try it.. What one is it?? I did give a few other types ago when Ds was younger, but he always manage to wreck them after a while!!

DD has some non-spill cups with straws...they're not hard to suck out of either like some other non-spill sipper cups are...
They're getting on a bit now, and she's busted the non-spill part of the straw by chewing on it, but it still just slowly drips, rather than floods out.
I have found her tipping them upside down a lot... and luckily because they're only dripping slowly it's not a big deal.
TBH, I have no idea what to do, but my DD would do the same I'm sure.

Tommee Tippee also has one which is about $7
Yep. very simply... every time she does it, take it off her.
The boys used to tip their drinks out ALL the time.
And it didn't matter WHAT cup I had... even the no spill ones didn't work for them, coz they'd stick their fingers in the top and widen the hole, or just take the top off.
So whenever they tipped their drink out. I'd say. "No, we don't pour inside. That's an outside game." and I'd take the cup off them straight away.
Now they never pour their drinks inside. EVER... but a lot of times they do take them outside to pour them... which I don't mind, coz I don't have to clean it up :D
I personally use the Avent non spill sipper cup - as others have said it's expensive and you have to buy the handles separately but I'm sure there are other non spill ones (with the non leak valves) on the market that aren't so costly.
In childcare they don't use the non spill sippy cups and whenever my DD starts to pour water everywhere (coz she is fascinated by it) they take the cup away from her and say "Only for drinking not playing" and offer it to her only when she's thirsty or when they all have water breaks and once she starts playing up they take it away from her. Seems to work because I don't think she does it anymore.

I have one of these, and I love it:thumbsup:

I got given a tommy tippee one and its great cause it doesnt leak hardly at all.
EJ has a habit of liking to shake all the water out of her cups also which meant water all over her and the floor. Once i got that tommy tippee one i hardly get water anywhere now :)
