Hi All
I just posted to the site looking for some Perth Mums and found this thread!
My DH and I moved to Warnbro a year or so ago but lived in Willetton before that so I guess many of our friends are closer to the Perth area than Rockingham.
Because it took us so long to concieve our DD (9 years!!) - many of our friends have already been and done the baby thing so we are kind of in different palces I guess.
I went to a local mum's group down here run by the Council commuity centre but the actual group was so big ( 25+ Mums and Bubs) and I found it all a little intimidating. I also found that being 32 I was one of the older Mums in the group.
Don't get me wrong I love talking about my daughter with other Mums and bubs but I must say I'm also craving some adult conversation and interaction as I'm finding being a SAHM more challenging than I thought it would be - especially today at the start of the school year! I was working as a secondary teacher so I miss all the anticipation of the new school year.
Well anyway I would love to meet some new people and hope to get chatting...
Hi Lexiesmum,
Welcome to the forum. There are quite a few perth mums here and we do like to talk ;)
We have regular meets (check out the thread for Feb 3rd) hope you can make it! I know it's a bit far for you, but we generally change the area from north to south to east so it's fair for everyone... so if you can't make this one, don't dispair, there will be another soon enough :)
I was also a secondary teacher a number of years ago, long before I had Jade, unlike yourself htough I don't miss working at all! :D
There are also a couple of us in your age range.
Hope you enjoy the forums and look forward to chatting to you soon.

Hi Tash
Thanks for the welcome - not sure about meeting on the 3rd as it is a little too soon for me to organise but I would definately like to meet up for your next one.
I'm also pretty happy to travel so getting palces isn't really an issue.:p
I figure that because it took us so long to have Alexandra and we were told that we couldn't actually have kids; that both my husband and I got pretty career focused so its hard getting used to being at home and the beginning of the teaching year just reminds me I guess::D
Hi Lexiesmum,
Welcome to Bubhub :) There are a few SOR Mums on here. I am close to Willetton rather than Rockingham. But I think there are a few from down your way on here.
Be great if you could come to a meet sometime :D
Sarah

Hi Sarah and Kirsty
The welcome is great - it's nice to get some replies!
Sarah being closer to Willetton is not a problem for me as my Mum and MIL live in Willetton adn Leeming respectively. I will definately check in and try to make your next meet as it's nice to get to know people from over the Perth Metro area who can give you tips and ideas of whats around in different areas.
Kirsty it's great to see some Mums posting who are closer to home for me and I am definately interested in getting to know some Mums from around the area.:D
Chantal
Great! Will PM you the details.
I am in safety bay, I have just started up a little forum for parents in rockingham and kwninana, if you;re intrested, let me know. Its just a place for parents to chat and meet others close by.
Welcome to bubhub by the way, its great here

Hi Lexiesmum and all the other bubhubbers
I am also new to Perth (about 3 months now) and just had my baby girl Jade 4 weeks ago so its all happening at once for me too. I am also on the older side (34) so you are definitely not alone.
I actually feel a bit pathetic because Ive only lasted 4 weeks before Ive started craving adult conversation, so thankfully I was recommended this website. I guess its now just a matter of gathering up all the 'baby stuff', and courage to get out there and do something about it. Maybe once I figure out if/how/when Jade adopts a routine of any description I will try and get to one of the mums gatherings, which sound so enticing!
Anyway I hope to meet some of you not too far in the future!
Amber

Hi you live near me I am in Waikiki and have 2 girls aged 8 & 4 I am 37. We have just moved from England. Would love to chat or meet up sometime.
some posts in this thread are rather old.
All my kids are at school now.. days are boring on my own.
I would feel silly going to meets with no kids.. so its just me and the housework and my pc most days now..
Hi all,
I'm a new mum also and live in Hammond Park. would love to chat with some other mums... I'm 33 and have a 7 week old son
Sorry I haven't been on The Bub Hub for a while. Hopefully you are all still interested in a catch up. Today is Tuesday 11.08.09. Would anybody be interested in a mid week coffee in Freo? :yelclap: Say next Wednesday around 11pm? Or any other preferences?
Hope you are all well. :goodvibes:
Leigh
Hi Leigh
If you're still keen for a mid week coffee, I'd love to catch up in Freo next Wed... although I'm hoping you mean 11am not pm? :D
I'm 19 weeks pregnant with my first baby and living in Cottesloe, so Freo is just down the road.
Cheers,
Kat
Hi Kat,
Oh yes I definitely meant 11am, not 11pm! Damn baby brain got me again!
So I know of a couple of places in Freo, but not too many. Do you have any preferences? There is a nice cafe called L2 which is at the end of the cappacino strip in Freo. Right across from the train station. We could meet there?
What do you think?
Leigh
