View Full Version : Sydney agencies?
Hi gals,
Am in the middle of researching casting agencies for my 5mth old and so far, have only found info on Bambini (far too expensive!!) and Baby Faces (only $154!!!). Does anyone know of any other agencies with a good reputation? Do they all charge extravagant fees upfront or are there any that will take their commission once your child has actually completed a job (which seems like the logical thing to do!!). Don't really want to pay $500 upfront and get nothing in return.
Appreciate the help..

have you tried looking up Model Kids Australia, that could be one to try, & just keep an eye out in the local papers & look for adds, my kids are registered in Model Kids Australia.
Hi,
I've just signed my gorgeous baby girl (who'll be 1 tomorrow - it's so sad that her 1st year has gone so quick) with Babyfaces. I phoned around and found them to be most reasonable (cost wise and also portfolio etc - they want you to send an updated photo every 3 months or if you make a major change to their appearance). Only joined this week so no feedback yet. Had my older 2 children with an agency known as Polka Dotts. Never paid any fees or portfolio costs with them only commission. My children won a competition to be represented by them and then got a lot of work - catalogues, tv commercials, magazines. So the agency was happy to keep them each year without me paying yearly fees although I know most others did. Apparently there was a big problem with them and they are now closed down but I always found them fantastic. Anyway good luck - it's very confusing I know.

One of the better Childrens Agencies in Sydney used to be Polka Dots, and if you actually want to get them into acting Joan Gibson has been around for an age. If nothing else, just book them into general agents such as Talentbank or C for Casting (both @ Fox Studios). Always beware of anyone that wants money upfront - photo's are a justifiable cost, but given that they are children and will be changing so rapidly - I'd be doing this as cheap as pos.

Hi again,
I too have signed my son up with Babyfaces. Been with them for about a month but nothing so far. It was fairly cheap ($154) for a year compared to others-but you don't get interviewed by them or a portfolio made up - you provide the photos. Oh well, it's just a bit of fun.
