Yes, a delicious subject I know, lol, but I was wondering if I can do a 'poo comparison' with some other bubs out there!!
My daughter is 10.5 months old, and has had serious pain whenever shes had any movement in her digestive system, (wind, poo, tummy noises, etc) since she was born. Its a very, VERY, long story,(and very very long nights!!) and we have finally got a referral to a paediatricion (our dr has been waving off the issue, :banghead: ) and the paediatricion thinks it may be colitis (inflammation of the colon) but we have further tests to do, and we are now waiting for our appointment with the paediatric gastroenterologist.
She is bfed, with a small amount of solids, which has been off and on since she was 6mths, as she cannot seem to tolerate them very well. She has only had basic fruit and veg and rice cereal, and only in small amounts.
When she is on breast milk only, her poo is runny (like diareah) and sometimes it will have little lumps in it, and she will do at least one a day. When she is having some solids (as little as 2-3 teaspoons once a day), after a few days, it turns very thick and pasty and she can only squeeze out (after lots of pushing) an amount about the size of a 5 cent coin, and has gone as long as 5 days without a poo (at this point I stop the solids and just give her breast milk to get her bowel moving again as it just increases her pain)
I have two older children, but cant for the life of me remember what their poo was like, so I was wondering what other mums of babies similar age or of similar feeding, have noticed how their babies stools are.
The dr, paediatrition, and clinic nurse ask me if her stools are normal, but for some reason I cant seem to get an answer to what is suppose to be 'normal'!!
Any info would be greatly appreciated!!
Thanks. :)
