just wondering where everyone got married ?
and why did u choose that place? was it because it was a good bargain, sentimental, convenient?

we got married on a boat ('the lady') down at marina mirage on the gold coast.
made for great photos.
we wanted to have the ceremony and the reception at the same place and we love being down near the water so it made perfect sense. that and it was excellent package...!

Ooh Great question, one which I love to answer!!!

We got married on our 5 acre block of land that we are about to build our dream home on.

It is a beautful bush setting- the day was perfect, and we love the fact that we shared the precious moment of exchanging vows at the very place we intend to bring our children up. Valentine

We then had our reception at a great little restaurant in town....heaps of fun!

We got married on top of a cliff in Lamington National Park. You could literally see forever...which we thought was a pretty good omen for a wedding ;)

It was the first place we looked at and as soon as we saw it we both just KNEW it was the right place. We didn't even bother to look at anything else.

We got married on the beach, we chose the beach because we both love being there, it was only 2 mins from our house and of course it was free lol.
I definately couldn't imagine getting married any where else!!

1 year ago, we had the whole cathedral wedding and fancy hotel reception organised. 2 weeks out, we had enough of family and friends and venues and eloped. We drove 8 hours south and got married at the Port Stephens Lighthouse. We chose the area because of its gorgeous scenery and relaxed feeling. We honeymooned for 2 weeks at the Shoal Bay Resort Spa, being pampered all day long. So much better than fighting family and friends anyday, just the two of us!

we got married on hamilton island at the lookout (forgotten name - baby brain!), it was a glorious day.

it was my 2nd marriage & DH's 1st & we wanted to keep it simple without all the fanfare so just my parents came - it was lovely.

We were married at my old school chapel.

We wanted the parish priest who had known me since I was 5 to marry us, but the local church was makeshift with second hand pews and hot orange carpet, so we organised the ceremony for somewhere else significant to one of us.

DH and I got married in Sioux Falls, SD USA.. cuz that's where I'm from and we got married in front of my family and his family got to see the first grandchild born in Australia.. so it worked out. It seems you can't make everyone happy especially when you have family on two different continents:rolleyes:

We got married at one of our favourite locations in Bali ... only 10 guests and we had the most amazing day (actually the celebrations lasted nearly a week!)

We got married on Long Island in the Whitsundays as it was so cheap & dh has a big extended family so this way if ppl wanted to come they had to pay for themselves & there were about 30 all up of closest friends & family.

Always wanted a beach wedding, had it in the morning (under 2 palm trees overlooking the water) and had a lunch time reception. With the meal for the reception everyone's buffet meals were included in their packages so we went into the restaurant & had whatever was out that day lol. Only cos about $6000 all up.

It was like a 2-3 day party as most stayed for 3 days & we'd have cocktails every night from 5pm before the dinner & entertainment. I can't wait to go again!

We got married at Butleigh Wootton in Kew (VIC).

It's a big old manor house with a lovely marquee and gardens with fountain out the back.

It also had upstairs bedrooms and extra bathrooms for the bride, groom & bridal party to relax in after the ceremony.

We chose it because we could have the ceremony outside under the marquee and then just walk inside to their big ballroom for our reception.

As we had a 2 year old at the time we wanted a lunchtime wedding also and they catered for that.

Our ceremony was at 11am and then there was a sitdown 6 course meals at 1pm. We finished up at 5pm right in time for my Mum to take DS home for a bath and tuck him into bed.

It was perfect :)
