View Full Version : Why Full Fat?
I am just curious as to why dairy foods we feed our babies must be full fat?
My reading indicates that bubs in their early years need fats in order for their brains to develop (and other things, but this is the part i remember best) properly.
I "think" that they recommend full fat up until at least 2 years. Tho I might have to go check that!

Its for development whether as Nicole79 said for their brains or just their bodies.
They are growing so quickly they need all the energy & goodness form everything they put in their mouths.
Full fat is actually good for you its just you need to work it off as an adult which we dont tend to do whereas babies are on the go all the time & dont we know it ! ;) :)

I'm pretty sure part of it is the calorific value of the food, but the other part of it is the amount of Vitamin A the full fat products contain compared to skim/reduced fat.
