View Full Version : Air Conditioner recommendations
Hi All
Im looking to put in a split system, between 8 and 10kw.
Im interested in any comments re different brands and if you would or wouldnt recommend and why.
Should I buy from an air conditioning company, or from Harvey Norman and have it installed.
If anyone from the Sunshine Coast can recommend an air conditioning company, please do.
Many Thanks:)

Ok stay away from the cheap brands, cos they are cheap to buy, expensive to repair, and alot of places wont work on them....Oh and alot of them you cant get parts for.... (ones from bunnings etc)
When DP wakes up, or tomorrow I will ask him and give you more info.
He is an Airconditioning Technician by trade!

Hi, my hubby worked in electrical for 15yrs. He recommends Mitsubishi as the best brand. Also their is a lovely guy called Nicholas Lawrey who works at Retravision Noosaville. He will do the right thing by you (unlike half of the sales people my hubby has worked with - trust me). If you go there, tell him Racheal & Will sent you. Good luck

My DH and I run our own Air conditioning installation business and we would recommend Mitsubishi or Panasonic.

Hmm my DP recommends 'Daikin', they are more reliable, more efficient and quieter when running.... They specialise in Aircons, so they have more time to research and develop a better product....
Mistubishi and Panasonic's quality is similar but not as quiet! But more expensive for what you are getting... And the technology is not as advanced as Daikin....
Daikin units are alot easier to fix and work on than other units as they have fault codes, which basically tell you what component is faulty, which wire is broken etc or what is exactly wrong with it, where as no other unit has this technology...
