Do you have a child under 12 months and work either part time or full time?
Are you are first time parent who returned to the same employer after having your first child?
If so, we invite you to participate in a research study that is being undertaken by the School of Applied Psychology at Griffith University to determine the effects of a new child on employment practices and psychological health.
The information gained from this study will be used to identify best practices employed by organisations to achieve 'family friendly' benefits and to retain working mothers.
There is currently little research that focuses on the transition back to work for new parents and we believe this project presents an exciting oppurtunity to improve the workplace for parents of young children.
The research will involve 45 minutes of your time for one to one interview. The content of the interview will cover your opinions and experiences about being a working parent with a young child. Interviews will be conducted at a time and place suitable for your needs between April and May 2005.
At the conclusion of the research, the results will be collated across all participants and no individual responses will be identified. All particiaption is voluntary and entirely confidential.
For more information or to make a interview time contact either Emma.Nolan@student.griffith.edu.au or Allison.Milner@student.griffith.edu.au
Sincerely
Allison Milner and Emma Nolan.
