Perhaps lets not tell our men that we are disussing their netherregions!
But was just wondering who's men were circed, and how old they are?
No debate intended!:D

What about putting up a poll - that way those of us whose DP's read this won't be upset at us responding. :o
ETA: You already did it!! lol

Yes and he's 29. He often brings up what we'd do if we had a boy. He changes his mind all the time. But I think he's heading for 'no'. I'm leaving the decision up to him

DF is circed, He's 26.
My ex was not, he's 30.
I prefer circed, but my ex had issues with his *cough* appendage.
No he isn't and he'll be 33 in a few months.
Although the males on my side of the family are all circumcised, and although I have changed many a nephew-nappy, I have never seen a real life circumcised penis. They were all done after infancy, from around 5-10 years old.
Pictures of circumcised penises look really weird to me.
Blueberry Crumble
27-07-2007, 22:27
I can imagine what an adult's circed looks like- but I couldnt imagine what a baby/little boy would look like! It is sooo tiny, I think it would look odd!
stellarella
27-07-2007, 22:27
No mine is not. Neither is his brother, nor his BIL, nor my brother, nor any of my male cousins.
DP is 27.
actually the other night on chaser they had some thing where they were taking off 'australias brainiest...' (quiz show)and one was penises, and they had 3 penises 'standing' on the podium thing where they get questioned and i didnt actually realise til the last minute what they were cos the were circed:o

The head of a little boys penis takes up most of the penis iykwim. I have seen circumcised little boys (DPs relatives) and it does look very odd.
I'm like beany, I haven't seen a circumcised penis (I dont think  )...an erect penis looks like a circumcised penis anyway because the foreskin retracts, so I dont see what the hoo ha is about it looking 'neater'...bit ridiculous IMO.
Nope my DH isnt... hes 22
It's usually the other way around - circumcised penises look bigger because they are more ... um ... "in your face" (for lack of a better term!).
To be honest, I have never even seen a circed penis in real life (or really at all, except for that book 'Where Did I Come From" with the little cartoons!:o
This is something DH and I were discussing the other day. When I was young and free all the boys I had 'encounters' with were done, the first uncir I saw I had no idea what to do with - to this day I've only seen 1
I was thinking it is going to be the opposite for our girl but maybe its just luck of the draw
SassyMummy
27-07-2007, 23:56
DP isn't circumcised and he's 22.
I think it would be interesting to find out what cultural backgrounds people have too - and whether or not that makes much of a different.
DP was born in Wales to an English father who grew up in England, a (crazy nutbag...lol) mother who comes from English parents, but grew up in Zimbabwe.

I prefer em done. Maybe that's what I grew up with and my hubby is done and I love it that way. he's *cough* older
Only seen one not, and it was weird.
My DH is not. He is 26.
I have only ever been with DH but my aunty swears that uncirc men are better in bed. Just her opinion of course.
I have seen a circ infant's penis and it was very strange looking to me indeed.

28-07-2007, 07:51
DP is 43 and he is.
I have to say I'm a big fan of the turtleneck.
None of my brothers or father have been snipped, and when I was at the Defence Academy they give you a lecture on sex education. There was a massive screen at the front of the lectre room with a 10 foot circumcised penis. I just stared at it and thought... "what the F is that"? I looked aorund the room to see if anyone else was thinking what I was thinking.
DH is and he is 35.
My Father and brother (31) are also done.
I always thought we would get any sons of ours done ( I guess that is what we both grew up with) but after reading countless threads on Bubhub our little man and any future sons will be staying intact. :)

I have to admit I'm surprised at reading how many have not been circumsised.
Of all the adult penises I have seen (yeah theres been a 'couple' :o  ) I've only ever seen one that wasn't circumsised. Ever.
My dp is done and he's 33.
My ds was born with a hypospadias so the choice of circ V not circ was taken out of my hands.

ok is it just me who thinks how weird it is knowing what hubbers men have? personally i mean, what if you meet/know these guys?
I dont think its wierd really... Its discussing a trend, and just putting into real life perspective. In my experience alot of circs have said to have happen because the father was... so knowing really if that is the case would be interesting.

28-07-2007, 12:51
DP is 29 and he is done, will we not be getting our sons done.
DP is but he had to be done at 3 years old for some medical reason. Apparently, he walked with his legs splayed for a week - each time MIL saw him, she cried.
I've told this story often here - I wanted DS to be done. I spoke to my 2 Jewish doctors and both of them said "Nah, no need". So I had planned to but just never followed it through. Oh well, after a few years I won't have to look at it anyway.
I have been with one guy that hadn't been done and I was horrified - absolutely horrified. Apart from my son's, I hope to never see another again!

OMG yeah...i never thought of that. that would look so freaky....... to me - it would just look so wrong.
i think it looks odd. i have seen a couple in parents rooms, you glance around and there it is! also in a couple of movies(like riding in cars with boys, the baby is meant to just be born and its circed and healed )
SassyMummy
28-07-2007, 14:46
Okay, so I didn't answer the question of which I think looks better.
I've seen both... and I've even seen one that half-done (the doctor started to do it routinely, and then his mother freaked and put a stop to it... so it's only PART done...lol).
I don't really find any penis attractive TBH. They're all ugly and I'd prefer to not have to look at one.
Another reason asthetics don't matter, is that the only person you probably want to impress is your partner/love interest/etc, and why just flop it out for them to have a good old gawk. The only reason for them to really have a good look at it is if it's about to be used - and therefore generally erect. They both look the same when erect, so what the big deal?

My DP is done, he is 24. He has two brothers that were also done when they were born, they are both older than him.
Actually, all the men in my family are done. So when the time came to do our son, we felt it was a normal/natural thing to do.

our two boys are not circd.
one had f/skin retracting at birth so wasnt done and by the time we had the next boy i was over my want to have it done (dp refused to take him in or sign the forms)
Yes he is, he is 40.

My partner is and my MIL has said much the same thing. It just wasn't an issue it was more just what happened when you had a bub. No actual decision to circ was made it was just accepted that it was going to happen. My 2 boys are intact.
Yes mine is (medical circ he wasn't able to urinate or something as a baby)
he is 32
My two boys were born perfect, no scalpals needed!! (or wanted)

we had the circ discussion when i found out i was preg.. he was all for it being done to the baby if it were a boy and i was against it, after showing him some sites and making it be all his decision and he would have to be there while it was getting done as i refused .......... our baby boy didnt end up being circ.

I remember my mum asking if we were getting our son done 'so he'd be like his dad' What a stupid argument for having it done - do they get em out and compare? I think not!
Mind you, my Dad wasn't done as a baby (in the 20's) and he had to have it done at 21 - I don't know why and don't want to know, maybe the Air Force made him have it done) but he said it was the most agonizing thing ever.
And I agree - great descriptions!! LOL!!

No, and he's 30.
As far as looks are concerned... I couldn't care less what any man's penis looks like, as long as Damien's does the job, that's all I worry about! A penis is a penis to me :D .

I'm not sure the genitals of either gender are terribly attractive, but...
My husband is cut, but wishes he'd been given a choice with regard to having part of his penis cut off.
As to the appearance, I prefer the look of a natural, unaltered version...moist, shiny, non-keratinized glans, frenulum, no scar. Even though I'm more personally familiar with circumcised penises (I'm in the U.S.), now that I know what a penis is supposed to look like, circumcised members look strange...paler, dry, wrinkled...they're missing something, incomplete, like a woman who's clitoral hood or labia were removed.
With regard to size, well, it's pretty much common sense that when you cut part of something off you're going to make it smaller. Circumcision is, quite literally, "genital reduction surgery". Keeping in mind that the foreskin is a double-layered, tubular sheath of skin-circumcision may actually strip away up to half of the skin on the penis. In some cases the inadaquate skin can make things so tight that the penis can't expand fully and is actually shorter. With babies, it's impossible to determine how much he's going to grow and how much skin will be required to comfortably accomodate an erection when he's an adult.
It's normal to be most comfortable with what's familiar to us; men in countries where FGM is the norm probably think an intact vulva looks strange...all those extra folds of skin.
Ultimately though, I'm only going to 'see' my son's penis for the first few years of his life. I'm not the one who has to live with it and handle/look at it every day for the rest of his life. It really doesn't matter what my aesthetic preference is. If we cut our children's genitals to make them more attractive to us...why stop there?
There's a reason genitals are often referred to as "private parts".

I am of the mind that if men weren't supposed to have foreskins, they would be born without it. Simple really. So, it is meant to be there.

Yes my DH's done and he's 33. I guess it was the done thing back then.
I'd never seen an uncirc'd penis until I had my first son :o
BTW, none of my boys are done.
My DH was circ'd at age 12 for religious and cultural reasons. They made quite a big deal out of it apparently, it was a bit like a coming of age thing for him. My ex-DH was uncirc'd.
For those who have seen both, which do you prefer so to speak, or which do you think looks better?
I prefer au naturale, without going into TMI it's more sensual, as someone else said.
I can imagine what an adult's circed looks like- but I couldnt imagine what a baby/little boy would look like! It is sooo tiny, I think it would look odd!
My little brother was routinely circ'd at birth and until I was 18 and met my ex, my bro's was the only penis I'd really seen (from shared baths as kids LOL). So I'm used to it I suppose. That said, if my intact DS was circ'd for some reason now, it would look really exposed and 'wrong' to me.
Off topic, but for a laugh, one of DH's friends can put a boiled egg or a $2 worth of 20 c inside his foreskin...boys ay!!
:laughing: :laughing:boys indeed!!!:laughing::laughing:
mine is not... my mil told me why too... when he was a newborn she was next to the room they were doing them in and could here lots of babies crying and it scared her so he stayed uncirced. dh never knew y until i told him what his mum had said!

Being born without a foreskin is very rare congenital problem called aposthia. Another birth defect, where the foreskin only partially forms is a 'dorsal hooded foreskin' and is usually associated with hypospadias.

My DF is 23 & uncut, so is my DS & will stay that way.
All the males in my family are 'cut' so that's all i was used too. So seeing an intact penis was very strange to me.
I do normally like the look of 'cut' penises probably because that's what i am used to seeing, in saying that though DF doens't look like he has a typical foreskin as it doesnt cover the whole head.. (he'd kill me if he knew i was writting this! LOL) I think he has a very attractive member! :D
