HOw old and how much TV do your children watch? How old were they when they started watching and what are their fave programs
Lots. I have the TV on pretty much all the time and he wanders around doing his various things and comes over to the TV when something of interest to him is on. He's 11 months old now.
He started young. A few months old. I'd put him in his rocker and let him watch something bright and colourful while I went to the loo or something.
Right now, he loves anything with music or singing. He enjoys The Wiggles, Little Einsteins and a few other things that I can't stand so I don't put on (The Doodlebops *shudder*).
He also rather likes those freaky Boobahs, Teletubbies and Boom and Reds.

we bearly watch tv in this household..DS only gets to watch some tv of a morning while i get breakfast ready and in the afternoon while im getting tea ready. He occasionally gets to watch a dvd during the day if the weather is a bit misserable....he's always watched the tv but has never taken any full notice of it till he was about 1ish.
He loves the Nick Jr channel on Austar (Foxtel) and his absolute favourite is Blue's Clues....he is obsessed

My 4 have watched a fair bit of t.v. I try to limit it to some degree, but in winter they watch a lot more. My eldest loved t.v from the time he was a baby, and wouldn't eat at all unless hi 5 was on! He is now in grade 2 and is is quite advanced, so t.v has done him no harm, and infact taught him quite a lot!
my kids watch ben10, fosters home of imagiary friends, the grim adventures of billy and mandy, spongebob, kids next door. My 2 younger ones like hi5 and the wiggles, miffy, balamory. they spend an average of maybe 2 hours a day watching tv..but they also play video games and the computer, and spend time outside.

The amount of tv Hayley watches varies from day to day, she usually watches about an hour in the morning and maybe an hour and a half to 2 hours in the afternoon. She does other things like play outside (if it isn't raining) and arts and crafts. Right now she is looking at some books and some photos.
She mostly watches Nick Jnr, shes 2 and a half.

We are usually busy most mornings, but during the afternoon the tv is usually on but DD doesn't necessarily watch it. I recently bought her a Dora hopper ball and she bounces around the house all afternoon  and occasionally stops for 5 mins to watch something, then off she goes again. We also do alot of arts & crafts, reading etc. to try and keep her away from the tv. She used to turn the tv on as soon as she got up  but now we sit at the kitchen table and have breakfast together, then get ready for whatever we have planned so it doesn't really come on until after lunch now, which is good. She watches NickJr (it is so informative and she learns so much from it), Dora is still one of her favourite shows, along with the Backyardigans, Miss BG, Johnny & The Sprites to name a few.
It's a bit hard in winter not to have it on because she can't go out and play outside as much, but she's not watching anywhere near as much as she used to, which is awesome. :yelclap:

TV is on all day here (pretty much), so she watches as much as she likes.
I usually put on a DVD first thing in the morning, after breakfast, and she can watch that. It's usually Dora.
She's also been asking for Finding Nemo recently... (she calls it "Orange Fish" though...lol).
She used to love Elmo, but he's not that great anymore... Dora wins hands-down.
Went the video shop earlier today and she wanted to hire Chicken Little (so we let her).

Hayley's obsessed with Dora, she calls her Dow.

I have the tv on most of the day (not that I really watch it either but It's always in the background )
DD is 11 months and plays with her toys then crawls to the tv for a little bit then goes back to her toys .
The only Kids show she really seems to like at the moment is Elmo's World .
