hayles ya por luv, i took durotuss when i had the chest infection and it was a blessing. stopped the coughing within 10 minutes.
you can google the ingredients (not the name of medicine), then also put category pregnancy. It will (usually) direct you to websites that let you know if it is cat a, b or c, and whether or not they are safe or not. preggo's can take cat a only. if in any doubt i just steer clear but it could shed light on it for you
hope you get a better nights sleep tonight

I took Benadryl original while I was pregnant as I couldn't use my hayfever tablets. DH checked it all out (hes a chemist) and said it was ok to use and this was confirmed by my GP. Some medical professional people don't want to suggest anything on the 'just incase' rule. I had a GP (not my regular one) refuse to give me antibiotics for a ear infection just incase  What I know now is that most womens hospitals have a telephone number you can call to check what is ok to use. It is staffed by specialist who only work in this field and would have the best knowledge. Check the website for the womens hospital in your state for the details... if not in your state I know Sydney (http://www.sesiahs.health.nsw.gov.au/rhw/default.asp?page=104.3&template=6&leftnav=54) and Melbourne both have one for sure.

Its classed as a B drug..
So its a decision that you will have to make for yourself and whether you are happy to take it or not..
BENADRYL (http://www.amazingpregnancy.com/pregnancy-articles/327.html)
Medications that have been deemed safe during pregnancy are rated as an “A” class medication.
Most allergy medications used during pregnancy are rated as a “B” class medication, which means that there is a reasonable amount of experience with a medication during pregnancy and no reason to believe that it would cause harm to the baby.
Medications that are rated “C” have little or no information or studies that show how it affects pregnancy in women.

I was told not to take it as there is a slight risk.
But both my g.p & chemist are very wary of using many medications while pg.
Im currently trying to get over Bronchitis & im only on a specific antibiotic because all the others delay labour & being that im already due we arent wanting that !
