Kasia - ji have not found out yet but dying here to find out.
I will be telling with this one, but i didn't with the others.
Chelle - i really hope if it's not me it's you!!
NSWmum- hope everything is all okay, as for spending your time wisely don't, shop and clean and go to the movies and lots of cafes and just have heaps of fun.
Widget - wow congrats on your baby standing!!! Fantastic!!!
LilliS - don;t worry about the cramps it's all normal.
Me i have a tiny bit of blood in mucus but very little not worried, Obs says baby is fine and said if i want i can have another U/S, but i am okay for now.
I have a dilema guys what would you do?
Sebie will be only 14 months old when baby is born how long would ou keep him in the cot i was hopeing he could stay in it till 3. I just have a normal sized cot and can not fit a bigger one in the room due to having another cot in their soon.
Thanks

CANTWAIT - I share your dilemma. I have massive pimples on my neck and shoulders - could be worse, could be on our faces.
Nothing else to report here except DS1, who turned 5 yesterday, is driving me crazy as he still can't go to kinder or creche because of the fluid on his hip - it is taking so long to get better.

HAPPY belated FIRST BIRTHDAY MISS A!!!
And yay! on her standing too! Such a big girl :D
Candyn - Hope you get the results soon! I thought I was impatient, but I can't justify the cost of the whole DNA thing when I can find out for free in a few weeks LoL
Hope you get a little girl!!!
Chelle - I must be getting all the pimples on the face to make up for you! I've been pimple city lately! Thankfully they're all going now, only time I get pimples is when i'm PG...it sucks!!!

Awww Bootiful I know exactly how you are feeling!
I've been sick the last week with a horrid head cold, which DD has also had and she's gone from sleeping 4-6hours during the day to only sleeping .5-1hour during the day! it left me pulling my hair out!
I hope you're feeling better soon and that DS decides he really does need that nap afterall!

hehehe Crazy, not yet, she has to actually move on her own first!! Though now am not sure she will crawl first... She is very close, but with this standing thing, I dunno... She is SO tall!! I was looking over the blue book at the height and weight charts and she's above the BOYS standards!! Actually, she's over them! I really am going to be the short@rse of the family!!
Lis, thanks! She's loving the ball pit she got from her Na Na and the bike/walker we got her!! I do feel a little bad that she didn't get more but we really couldn't afford it...
I got in trouble this morning for not having dinner the past few nights - just didn't feel like cooking - so I am about to go and eat re-heated spag bol as I crashed when I got home... MIL did all of Miss A'd bedtime stuff for me and I woke at 10pm, so I'll have "dinner" and wait for DF to get home, it has a bit of time to settle then...

Hi everyone,
I've been MIA for a while.
I fired my OB yesterday for being an ignorant, pig-headed man with not an ounce of compassion...
http://www.bubhub.com.au/community/forums/showthread.php?t=109071
I left his office in tears and spent most of yesterday crying every time I thought about the whole ordeal.
So now I have no OB and no hospital...
I've got a couple of phone numbers I have to call to try and get someone to help me achieve a MA C/section but I need to just calm down for a couple of days, regroup and then go for it. These hormones are making it very hard for me to speak about it without bursting into tears.
Will keep you all posted, glad everyone's okay.
Candyn, I've been wondering if you've got your results yet. I think I'll be giving your OB a call in the next couple of days (if he's the one I think you're using!)
Talk to you all soon.
Take care.

Oh Mama that SUCKS... Give yourself time to settle down and relax... Then see if there are any OB's supportive of MA c/s around that you can enquire on... :hugs: Once you have your head sorted, it will be easier to work out...
I forgot to say before too... Miss A now has 9 teeth!! her 8th tooth broke on Saturday night (the night she wouldn't settle at Nanny's) and that was a molar... The 9th one I'm not too sure on, think it was yesterday, the 4th bottom front tooth... I was playing with her in the car on the way to work this morning and could see another tooth... So that means 9 teeth!!!
I'm still so tired, might go have a coffee (I don't drink normal strength coffee, no-one calls my coffee coffee as there is so little coffee in it!)
Tootles for now!!

Thanks for your well wishes girls- I actually have a nother scan this morning due to some very light bleeding ut obs said he just wants to make suree all is okay which he is certain it is, he is suh a nice positive Obs.
Mamaduke i am so sorry for going through that!!
My Obs is Dennis Price and he is beautiful and and awesome supporter of VBAC's and he is soooo much cheaper than Lionel, out of pocket expenses with me is about $400.
His receptionist is bit rough at first but ignore her she is very nice when you get to know her. Also ask to speak directly with him and explain your situation to him directly.
Hope you find an Obs that will cherish your opinions!! Go Girl!!
Also heard that John Reagan is wonderful, and David Friedman is pro VBAC too.

Candyn - Good Luck with your scan today.
I've got a girls trip at a spa this weekend thats been planned since January and I just can't get excited.
I'm too worried about Tyler and his leg. I'm taking him to kinder for 1 hour today because he's still limping, which means I have to stay too. It will be a nice change from sitting around the house with him though.

I've had a tiring week back at work - think I got too used to holidays. I can't wait until I have some more energy and stop :barf: . I have my next OB appointment next Wednesday so looking foward to seeing my lovely doctor.
I went to see knocked up last night. I can't remember laughing so much although I could do without the two scenes of the head crowning!!
Better go to bed or I will be sleepy at work tomorrow.

Sair, you need to take a break!!
Tell me more about this Chinese Dr stuff!! I will wait til after the preg though for taking things, I'm so paranoid since DD's neural tube defect!!
But that doesn't deter from me being 30kgs over the "normal" range for my height! I do need to do something about it, I am so unhappy with myself... DF doesn't care and thinks it's okay for him to lose 30kgs but not for me... Fair enough he lost it from his job, but still, he is looking so healthy now and I'm just this blob next to him... Sorry... Ranting...
Well, looks like I am looking for our tax stuff from previous years and the letter from DD's neurosurgeon for my Dr's clinic appt next Thursday... Her physio appt was cancelled 3 mins ago and rescheduled for next Thursday at 3pm, which is better as MIL won't be so tired on a sleeping day (night nurse) as she starts her week on Thursday nights...
Now, to work out where DF put the paperwork I need, it WAS in the kitchen at the old place, but I haven't seen any of my paperwork yet - I can't believe he lost my filing folders for all the bills!!
Kate... I really will be the short@rse... DF is over 2m tall and DD is already above the boys height chart... I'm just over 5 foot... I've always been below the average for my height as Mum never fails to mention now...
Anyhoos, better go looking for tax stuff while DD is asleep and MIL can rest!!

i bought my first lot of baby stuff today i didnt want to buy anything before just incase the bleeding didnt stop and something major happened but everyone seems sure that bub will be fine even if the bleeding continues.
im so excited i picked up a couple of little shirts and shorts, some bottles, and a few little odds and ends..
ok well girls have a great day im going to lay down my headache is back and my head feels like its going to explode.

My stomach has had a growth spurt - I can tell in some of my clothes that I definitely look pg and not just fat.

Sair - i too would love to hear about this Chinese Dr and how you are losing weight - i started my pregnancy 10 kgs over weight.
I really want to start buying stuff but i daren't - think cos i am an "old mum" - will be 39 when baby due i am still worried something might go wrong tho feeling good except i get tired very easily. Definitely showing now which i love and had a funny feeling the other day but felt too rhythmic so dont think it was the bub, maybe just muscles or something.
:hugs: to everyone. hope your MS is slowing down to those who still have it, mine has gone but certain smells make me gag and so then i :barf: fun!
Have a great weekend

girls i have a question- my aunty is due in september and through out all my families babies we have shared everything like hand me downs. My aunty is coming down tomorrow to pick up the cot. I wanted her to have it as she fell pregnant first and i felt slack if i took it. the thing is though, i dont want another wooden cot as babies room is quite small and when were done with it i dont know where to put it i mean yeah we could sell it etc but i dont think id want to. I was wondering if anyone thinks itd be bad to use a portacot for the baby? i dont know if they are better for temporary use? or if they can be used for the whole time?
Widget
27-07-2007, 04:19 PM
Kate, it was suggested to me to use a portacot instead of buying a new cot or single bed for DD...
I'm at a loss what to do though... DD will have to use the portacot as I'll need easy access to baby for night feeds and such... But was thinking if we do just use a portacot, we will probably get DD a big girls bed for her 2nd b'day or Xmas, so it'll only be 6-12 months...
I saw somewhere that you can get little cradle thingys for your bed - for baby to sleep between you and the other half... Not sure of your stance on co-sleeping though.
Is this one going to be your last bub? Do you have a garage to store in?
I assume your DS is in a big boys bed now...
Maybe you could get a bassinet (easier to store later) and when bub is too big, get a trundle to go with DS's bed or use the trundle as new bubs "big bed".
We had a cradle and DD would have been in it for longer had we not had to give it back at 6 weeks...
But if you do decide to use a portacot for new bub, I'd highly suggest getting one with the bassinet insert!
The portacot on offer to us doesn't have one which is really the only reason I haven't figured out what we're going to do...
Basically got 4 months to work it out...
Oh Kate, I'll be in your area tomorrow morning. Bub has to have her immunisations :crying:.
Might be a little early for you though, we line up for the Dr at 7:30am!
Going to try DD on dinner solids tonight... Wish me luck!! :fingerscrossed: She hasn't taken to "dinner" before but these 5am wake ups are driving me batty! I was actually having a good sleep last night not like the night before where I woke every 5 mins from 3am!!
Ok, babbling... :ecomcity:

Hi girly gals.
Just got home from work. Hopefully only 3 weeks left of 7 days a week LOL. I know I got to slow down my body is telling me in a big way.
This Dr I go to is marvelous. He is $65 a session though but worth every cent. you would have more options over there but down here he is the best and i travel an hour to get to him which is alot for us lil tasmanians. Anyway he looks into your eyes and tells you whats wrong. First time he told me that i have poor circulation and my blood wasn't flowing properly and causing fluid problem (I've gone from a size 10 to 16 in 2 years) and not through bad stuff. He says all fluid. Anyway he puts these suction cups on my back etc they hurt a bit and you bruise but the energy I have after is amazing. you also get given tablets to take. All natural all safe for bubs etc.that price includes whether you just have cupping or if you have accupuncture as well and your tablets. He told me last night he was pleased how much colour I have back and how well I'm loosing weight but "alot more to loose yet missus especially when your kidneys and livers are fixed" Lol he's a character and makes me laugh.
Oh well If you want to know anything else just let me know. Just in the middle of cooking tea. Have to be up at five for work tomorrow Hawthorn is staying at work and I have heaps to do tomorrow before sunday when they are in house. GRRR they are filthy pigs.
Oh i forgot we went shopping (lay-bying reallY) Today we lay buyed the cot the other day and I really just went to pay some off that while we were there we lay buyed a sling for the lump, Sheepskin for the pram we have ordered that but don't have to pay till it arrives, and this awesome nappy bag it was so trendy LOL. I'm a bag lady thats for sure.

Sair, tell me more... How did you find out about it, how did you find him?? What do you look for when searching for someone so marvellous??
I went from an 8-10 to a 14 in a month and gradually went to 16 and am actually quite ashamed to say that some 18's don't fit me now - without baby belly...
Of course, DF loves my "squishy" but I don't, I don't know what it is, but all of sudden I care what I look like and I don't like going out anymore, 6 months ago I would have said "I don't care, it's not like I'm out to impress anyone" but now it's more "oh, god, I can't go out looking like that!! I'm not really this big am I??" I froze my bum off the other day coz I looked more than gigantic in a jumper!! MIL says it's age and because I'm getting older I'm more conscious of how I look - how do you go from over 20 years of not giving a hoot to all of a sudden so weary that you can't stand yourself at all??
I wonder why DF loves this "squishy" so much and all I can put it down to is that he may be insecure that someone will pinch me from him... Doesn't he understand that when I was a size 8 he was the only one looking?? Seems he's the only one who wanted to get to know "me"...
Sorry, the hormones have been playing up today... Stupid Family Medical Practice... Why there are no medicare run places in this area I dunno, and not accepting new clients!! AND having to pay regardless!! I'm sticking to Marayong I think, it's a bit far to get to on my own, but it's free and I am so comfortable with the Doctor there!! As MIL said, why go somewhere new just coz it's close, stick to the Dr you know and trust!!
Oh, and someone slap me next time I say I'll try solids at night!! 14 hissy fits later and she FINALLY finished it - then chucked a massive wobbly coz it was gone!! Wouldn't give me 50 seconds to get a bottle ready... At least she's had it now and it laying quietly on the lounge after having her bottle...
Time for this girl to be in bed... Was hoping DF would be home in time to say goodnight but obviously not, he's not even answering the phone...

I know I said that like a week ago, but I actually caught a glimpse of myself in a mirror today (don't have full length mirror at home) and well I had a good old gander, and I kid you not, i'm massive.
Here (http://lis.nozzs.org/Belly%20at%2023w5d/Belly01.jpg) is a pic of my PG with DD at 23w5d and I am seriously as huge as that now at only 13w2d  i'm hugely pregnant and I shouldn't be! LoL
Just makes me wonder how big I will actually get this time, I was huge last time, I better not be bigger than that this time! Must get someones camera so I can take a real piccie for you! Hopefully i'll have one up next week!

hehehe Lis... this (http://s141.photobucket.com/albums/r46/MummaV/Bubba/?action=view¤t=38.jpg) is me at 38 weeks... couple of days before birth... I wasn't even showing at 30 weeks with DD so I guess I'm not suprised that I'm not showing yet, but then I am suprised as this is 2nd bub and growing all too quickly!!
I don't have one of this preg yet and that was basically the only one (the only day) from DD's pregnancy...
And yes, the tat did fair pretty well considering!! might not this time though...
And Lis, I've heard that you get bigger with each bub... Not sure how true it is, but that's what I heard!!

Hey widge This guys name is dr vu. the people who own the business next to me told me about him. And swore by him I could ask him if there are any he recomends where you are??? He is really quiet nice.
He looked into a friends eyes and said you had an infection and the toxins got into her blood stream. She did not tell or right this down but she had been in hosp with that exact same thing.

That'd be good if you could Sair... My location is in the "where are you?" thread. :D
I probably won't look until after bubs is born as I'm desperately trying to be debt free with enough savings for a bigger car, DF thinks $8k should be enough to get a decent family car...
But if I can I will look earlier as Mum trying to push me onto Herbalife before the preg is over to get my protein up...
Gotta go for now, DF home and dinner nearly ready!!

Hi All,
I'm sorry, but i forgot to mention that i was going away on holidays last weeek (to be honest i had completely forgotten myself , i guess pregnancy brain will do that to you!)
Anyway, the bleeding has eased heaps, it even completely stopped for 2 days just before i went away :smiliedance:. Still not confident that i've felt bubba move, i feel something, and just tell myself its my tummy moving by itself, i bet i'll get a really good kick one of these days and it will teach me!
After not sleeping well in a different bed while we were away, we got back last night and DS had a shocker of a night insisting on sleeping with me and then he'd fidget and twitch and came so close to kicking me in the tummy several times. So needless to say i'm very tired and operating on auto pilot at the moment .
Bye Widget, i hope you have a great pregnancy too, you will be missed.
OK time to go catch up on other stuff.

Mama - hope you find an OB you are happy with soon.
Good to see people are been spoilt, getting away and feeling reat in general.
Yesterday I went shopping for some 'fat clothes'. If anyone is interested there is a sale on maternity clothes in pumpkin patch. I bought some nice jeans for $49. I also picked up some black pants with a folded waist band for work (Picnic) which I convinced DH I WOULD wear heaps as they were $100. :o Plus I got a couple of tops. My pants are all getting a little snug.
To top of my happy spending day yesterday we went and ordered our nursery furniture, pram, and car seat and a few other bits and pieces. Very exciting until we get the credit card bill...ha ha ha.

I am so excited, we have bought our first baby stuff. Got an awsome deal from Toys R Us - a beautiful cot (http://www.toysrus.com.au/site/R12Final.pdf) and drawers for only $600. the sale ends next week but these work out at half price and also got a gorgeous bassinette - really feel like this is actually happening. Just got to clear out all the **** in the spare room that is going to be the nursery.
Had a great weekend spoiling DF as its his birthday.
Lillis - those jeans sound like a bargain - i got some similar sounding trousers to your black ones in Myers - look like they will stretch heaps so should last more than a few weeks even though they weren't in the maternity section.
Strawberry Shortcake - Darwin sounds fantastic (never been) and it will be soooo much warmer than Sydney - good luck with the move

Hi All,
Widget - I don't know why you have left but we are here if you need us... You will be missed around here and I wish you all the best for the rest of your pregnancy...
I went to the hospital on Saturday and did all the prelim paper work, so nothing too exciting... Was told that I could be sent home within 24 hours of having bubs, cause the hospital is so busy and they don't have enough beds... Kind of freaked me out a bit, not that I was planning on staying too long anyway, just would be nice to know I wouldn't be told to go straight after having bubs...
Don't have too much time to spend on today, DS is sick with croup and a throat infection... Poor thing has been sitting watching tv for most of the morning without moving, which is not like my DS... Really hopes he gets over it all soon, cause I hate seeing him like this...
Anyway, hope everyone is doing OK...

On Saturday morning, lying in bed, my baby had a massive stretch and the shape of my belly changed to poking straight up. Since then I have been feeling some movements from the outside - not frequently though.
Only 16 days till we find out if our bubba is pink or blue! (Then I can start buying stuff)
DH1 has hip checked by the orthopedic surgeon this morning. All is fine which means he can go back to kinder. What a huge relief!!!

That's a really nice name Angelbell. I had names set in my head then told DH last night and he wasn't overly impressed. I won't push the issue till I find out what we're having - I'm pretty sure it will be another boy.

Thanks Chelle123 glad you like it.
Your baby maybe another boy but just think of all the people that can't have children or there babies are sick if you are blessed with a boy or a girl just as long as it healthy. I think we all need to realise this and all the people that have left the due in Jan thread from miscarriage I think everyone one of us are the luckiest mum's in the the world.:ecomcity:

I agree with you 100%. All I really want is a healthy baby and I guess having a m/c last year made me realise that even more. I can't wait to find out though, I just want to start shopping (as shallow as that sounds).

I see the docs tomorrow at Hornsby hospital then due my next scan in 3 weeks.
Is anyone suffering with heartburn? I have severe heartburn and dont really want to take any drugs - anyone got any ideas?
I also agree we are so lucky to be pregnant and honoured to bring a new life into the world

I've been a bit stressed this afternoon... Along with DS being sick, I went to the toilet earlier this afternoon and when I wiped I had a pinky-brownish discharge... It hasn't been back since but its stressed me out a bit... Haven't spoken to the doctor, thought I'd wait and see if it happened again...
I'm hoping its just the stress of DS being sick and having to pick him up a lot more than usual...
If I'm still anxious in a couple of days, I will be off to the GP to see what they say...
Sorry, just needed to get that out...

Crazy Monkey - Hope it's all okay, i have had this last week and had an ultrasound mine was fresh blood then it was dark, it sometimes can be down in the Vagina, as they could not find my source of bleed which the conclusion is that it is from down below which is nothing to worry about.
I did find out the sex but waiting for confirmation from the DNA but they are being delayed and each day they are delayed they pay me $25.
NSWmum - i like Isabelle. Not one for made up names i think they go out of fad very quickly.
Angellbell - i love the name Jacinta, very pretty. My hubby loves it and wanted to call our little girl - if ever had one Jacinta. But i want Sophia!:)

Widge - Sorry to hear you've left us! I have no idea why, but hopefully you'll miss us so much that you just have to come back :D
Candyn - I don't get it...you found out the sex but have to wait for confirmation??? Are you trying to kill us with suspense or what!? LoL
Me - Not much happening, i'm fat but other than that it's all okay! I have my booking in appointment on Thursday so that's pretty exciting, not that much will actually happen, bunch of paper work, but hey, it's still a step closer!!!

Gday Everyone,
How is everyone going with there pregnancy.
Yesterday i had my monthly check up with my OB. Once i arrived at the hospital they informed me that there is no appointment for me today. I swear to them that I do have one today 30th July 2007 at 3.50pm.
The reception told me that i will put your name on the list and while you are here we can make another appointment till the end of the November. Once the reception told me to take a seat my OB walked out of his consulting room and informed the reception that he is off to theater.
Myself and all the other ladies that where there waiting before i got there, we all did not get in to see him till after 6pm last night.
During this pregnancy i have not had appointment on time yet. Myself and hubby reckon that this bub is going to be late and that we are having a little girl with all the stuffing around that we havea had.
Once I got in to see him i was only there for about 10-15 mins. I received my referral to have another ultrasound for 20 weeks.
I have made the appointment and it will be on the 20 August 2 days before my birthday. Crossing my fingers that i am going to get a nice surprise for my birthday and little girl. Just have to wait and see. They have informed me that it is going to cost $195 and will be a rebate back from medicare.
MIA informed me that I can get the ultrasound recorded on DVD/ Video. We can also have a 3D ultrasound so we are going ahead with that. If we wanted it on DVD it is going to cost us an extra $11. I am happy with that as I got Joshua's 20 week ultrasound recorded on video.
Well thats is from me.
Enough of BLAH BLAH.
Everyone please take good care of yourselfs.
Bye for now
Jodie

I just got back from my GP who is doing most of my care (Shared Care) and then went to see the docs at the hospital. They are both happy with my progress tho both measured me differently - 1 said 17cm the other 19cm. Got to hear the bubs heat beat which was cool tho took awhile to find and i have only put on 3kgs which i was happy with. Got my next scan in 3 weeks so cant wait for that.
Hope everyone is well.

Hello Everyone. It's been a while since I popped my head in but I have been reading up and making sure you are all OK.
I've had my 12-13 week scan last week and all is good so we have released the news about us expecting. It was kind of fun but scary too as I am sooooo superstitious and still worried about every twinge. This kid is going to be neurotic simply from it's womb experiences I am sure.
Today I received all my reports from my fertility specialist as I am off to the public system and have my first obs appointment tomorrow. I was reading through them and one report says that I am of "Advanced Maternal Age" - how insulting! I know 36 ain't young but geez, kick a girl while she is hormonal!
Anyway, keep safe everyone. I hope everything is OK with you Crazy Monkey.
feline11
31-07-2007, 01:45 PM
Rusty - glad to hear things are well - they are cheeky arent they "Advanced Maternal Age" so i suppose i fit into that category too. I am glad there is somone here close to my age - i was beginning to feel i was the grandma of this thread (only jealous girls that you are all so young and having your babies). I think being "more mature" (does that sound better than advanced maternal age?) makes you more neurotic when you get every twinge as everywhere you read stuff saying there are more risks when you get older. Who cares how old we all are as long as all have beautiful healthy babies.

Hi everyone,
Thanks for the well wishes... Just got back from the GP with DS... DS now has infection in his chest, so a different antibiotics was prescribed... Hopefully this one will work... He is so flat, just sitting there watch TV, so not like my boy... Anyway, asked the GP about the discharge and he thinks its nothing to do with pregnancy but is sending me for a scan tomorrow just to make sure... I'll let you all know how I go...
Anyway, have to get going DS is getting clingy again...
Take care

 Update from me...
14 weeks today, 26 to go thank god. almost half way.
Belly is starting to poke out, baby is making itself known occasionally.
Ive put on about 5kgs already :(
had the first antenatal appointment at the hospital, went ok. have had two ultrasounds already (7 and 13 weeks) and have two refferals sitting in my bag, so will be heading off to the xray place in a few weeks to find out thesex of the baby.
havent bought a single thing yet, and thinking i should probably start.
havet done this for 9 years so im a bit out of practise. i have a list of things ive thought of though. so im semi organised.
My contract at work finishes in the first week of september so, im doubting i can find a new ob netween now and then due to the ever expanding belly, so will have a few months at home before baby is born to prepare myself and my house.
good to hear everyone is traveling good.
:)

How long did I last?? 3 days?? I just can't stay away!!
But I WILL from now on stay here and only here so you ladies better start talking more!! No more "forum threads" for me, just here in my due in group!!
Oh Crazy one, I do hope all is well and that DS gets better ASAP!
Fly, how could I not miss you all??
Angelbell, I love the name you have chosen!
nswmum I like Isabel (couldn't use it coz of DD's name) but, personally am into old fashioned uncommon names (and I will curse everyone who names their daughter the same as mine for as long as I shall live!!) so Emeeka is out for me, but it is your child and only you and your hubby can make the decision on the name! It ultimately doesn't matter what we think as we would all have different tastes in names!!
Feline - I know what you are saying about age and not worrying about it so much... I'm 23 and while I had a dream pregnancy with DD, my last 12 months have been a horror story with the happiest little girl I've ever known (and it's not because she is my daughter). It doesn't matter your age for something to be not quite right and unfortunately there was nothing they could do about DD beforehand, we couldn't get a warning as it was so small and I was so low risk for everything. All I can say is that at least I will be having an extremely thorough morphology scan in a couple of weeks!
There was more I wanted to say but my brain is going very mushy...
I have my Doctors clinic appt on Thursday (DD's physio was cancelled again!) and will find out then whether they class me as a high risk pregnancy with the hypertension and previous pregnancy history... Hope not as I can't do 3 days a week at work and I can't swap my Friday off for Thursday off as DD's spina bifida appts are always on Fridays... WooHoo one more day of work this week!
I've only been back for a month and I hate it again already! I think I'll finish up the week before xmas (given my birthing history LOL).
Unless I am showing the same as I did with DD (watermelon shape) I am not showing yet... :( at 17 weeks for a 2nd pregnancy, shouldn't I be showing already??
Anyways, I better go and greet DF who just got home and get to bed, very boring day planned at work tomorrow dealing with paperwork trails!! So need to be as awake for it as possible, been trying so hard not to fall asleep the last 2 weeks!!
Oh, and I must be having a boy! I never had so many pains with DD and certainly didn't have near as much wind problems!! My tummy is always sore - guess I've just worked out why babies scream/cry when they have wind stuck in their middles!!
Ok, nigh nigh all you beautiful women!! I promise I will return!

Great to have you back Widget...we're pretty much speechless without you!
On my end, I'm still without an official OB - still waiting to hear back from the private hospital who promised to look into my birth plan.
I'm almost 99.9% sure that I will go with Candyn's OB - he seems to be the only OB who is willing to meet me at least half way.
Tomato and onion sandwiches, banana chips, milk and terribly processed cheddar cheese are my new cravings...unfortunately no craving for salt and vinegar chips and I've lost my penchant for Big Mac's...it's all very strange!

Welcome back Widget!
Tomato and onion sandwiches, banana chips, milk and terribly processed cheddar cheese are my new cravings...unfortunately no craving for salt and vinegar chips and I've lost my penchant for Big Mac's...it's all very strange!
My cravings are nearly the same as yours Mamaduke minus the onion (heartburn) and the banana chips. Luckily for me, I haven't been able to eat any greasy foods as they make me feel sick, in my other 2 pg's I lived on hot chips.
I know this may sound silly, but when I've been pg before, so have other friends and we've all got fat (and lost the weight) together. This time, I'm the only one, so my friends are all skinny and its really hard not to feel like a whale standing next to them. Don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to lose weight now cos I know that's dangerous but I really don't want to put any more excess weight on.
I got on my exercise bike for 30mins last night but I need to do that more often, once a week just isn't enough.
I have had serious weight loss issues in the past and I have never told a soul, not even DH.
Sorry for the ramble.

i hear you on the weight thing, im overweight.... and im going to try and lose 1 kg a week.....
not by fads, just filling up on salad, vegies and fruit, and lean protein..... im also going to start walking with my sister 3 times a week.....
she says she cant afford to diet...but want s to lose weight, so im going to make her lunches and dinners, and she will return the favour by watching my kids when i go shopping, and also for 2 hours a week, while i either go out, or clean...change the house around:D
im not going to starve myself... i'll eat cereal or toast for breakfast, a healthy wrap or sandwich for lunch..and a stirfry or lean roast for dinner..... plus snack on fruit during the day if im hungry....ive been eating takeaway everday lately, so im sure my body and the baby will benefit from a healthy change

BJ - that sounds like a great plan. My sister & I were walking heaps before I got pg then the weather turned and I was really m/s all day, so I stopped.
I eat fairly healthy meals most days, its the snacking that puts on the weight and I need to snack or I start to feel sick.
I'm going to ring my sister today and see if she wants to get back into the walks, even though its freezing at night (she works during the day).
bronny-jane
01-08-2007, 07:49 AM
yeah walking will also build more stamina for labour....
i decided on 3 a week...only because doing it every night seems more like a chore...even though i feel great once ive finished....
were going to start on friday...at 9am.... that way its warm, so no "its too cold" excuses...
healthy snacks.....
nuts, fruit platter... yogurt, ryvitas with avocado and tomato...oh and some lite cheese:D
i need to drink water...i only drink decaf coffee or coke... so water will help....
im not going to be rigid....if i feel like a bar of chocolate i'll eat it....
but when i get take away when traveling, i'll opt for healthier options

Sounds like you're very organised. I need to get back in the habit of drinking more water too. I went off it with m/s but it definitely helps with weight loss. I've just started getting back into weak coffee, so maybe I'll drink that instead of eating all the time - I'll be running to the loo every 5 mins though.
I called my sister and we're starting our walks on Sunday morning. Hopefully we can keep it up.

Okay this is my story girls:
Okay everyone who has been following my journey re gender dissappointment, i found out last week through ultrasound that iam having another boy, but theDNA test Result came back this morning as 95% accurate it being a GIRL.
I rang up the Diagnostics centre they said that all samples were tested 3 times and they could not find any traces of Y chromosone.
Ultrasound said that at 15 weeks that it is still hard to distinguish the sex but she felt it was clearly a boy.
So who do i believe?
DNA Girl
Ultrasound at 15 weeks - boy
Now i am a confused pregnant woman!!!
What i am going to say is this i will not think it is a girl for the time being because the DNA test is realitvely new and they have been known to make mistakes, so for now it is a boy till i find out for sure.

Everyone's going to hate me but i haven't put on any weight at all! In fact, i've lost weight from before i fell pregnant!
I've got a bulge, but my weight hasn't moved in weeks! Even after the Chinese for dinner 3 times in the past 10 days :o. I lost about 5 kilos in the first few months with the sickness and everything, but i've just plateaued . It was freaking me out a bit 2 weeks ago when my mind space was "you're bleeding, you're not gaining any weight, and you're not even sure if your feeling movement. It's gone." :crying:. But i'm positive i've been getting my innards kicked, usually just before dinner, and a washing machine type of arrangement going on at 3am! Like i said in my last post, the bleeding has eased to almost nothing, one or two wipes a day are a littlebit brown.
Gotta Go, back soon.

I went there when i was preggo with the twins and the tech was the only one through my whole pregnancy that told me i was 100% having two boys, all the other sonographers thought Isaiah was a girl lol.
I have an appointment there for Aug 15th, i will be a little over 17 weeks for a gender determination scan!!

Welcome back Widget
I need to start exercising so i had better start if all you girls are starting too. I still cant drink just water as makes me feel queesy but love soda water and milk. MY GP says i shouldnt drink too much milk as it is fattening even tho i am only drinking semi skimmed (98% fat free) but i crave it all the time. Now been told to stop all caffeine as they think it is causing my heart burn (i was only having 2 weak cups of tea).
Wish my belly looked like all yours - i still have my waist so just look like i have a fat belly - was pudgy before now solid.
whats the diff between a 3d and 4d scan? When is the best time to have them? we are having a scan at 19 weeks and they say we can get a 3d dvd as part of it so wondering is a 4d scan heaps better and worth getting - if so when.
Crazy Monkey
01-08-2007, 07:34 PM
Wow, can't believe how much talking you girls can do in the few short hours I was gone...
Glad everyone is doing well...
I had my u/s today and everything is A OK... Ended up having a full scan (like what they do at the 19-20 week scan)... As soon as I saw bubs heartbeating, I started crying... I was sure there was something wrong cause I had a bit more blood just before the scan... But everything is good...
Rang my OB after the scan, to tell him what had happened, and asked about the Anti-D shot (I have a negative blood group) and he suggested I get one just to be on the safe side... The sonographer couldn't find the source of the bleeding, so probably don't really need it, but will have it anyway...
I'm thinking I will probably still go to the 19-20 week scan I already have booked for the 16/08, just so I can see bubs again... We've reached the medicare safety net, so it won't cost us too much...
Angelbell, I think I'm about as big as you are... I'll get my pic up here soon...
Man I can blabber

Hello all The January Mummies!!Well i apologise for being absent lately, i have had trouble with computer so could not post replies for a while!!Well nothing much to report here, i am 15 weeks and the morning sickness is almost gone, i do have a bad day here and there, but no vomiting now thank god! I have been getting alot of cramps in my upper stomach lately and just real stretching pains all over my tummy! The worst pregancy symptom i have at the moment though is chronic heart burn during the night! Because i am lactose intolerant, milk is not a good idea so i am sucking on one square of white chocolate if i get the pains.I have my first appointment with my Midwife tomorrow, so i am excited about that. However we have decided to deliver the baby in a hospital 2 hours away near my mum who is in the country. So i will meet all new doctors and midwives a few weeks before birth! I saw the birthing suite and met all 4 midwives last week! We loovee the hospital and my partner is allowed to stay with me the whole time i am in, which we be great for family bonding!Ok girls, take care of yourselves and your bumps!Love Tahlia

Goodness me - that was a lot to catch up on. I almost need a rest!
I had my first ob and hospital appointment yesterday. Much to the shock of most people I know, I am going public and am booked into the Royal Women's Hospital in Melbourne. They were so lovely yesterday. I saw a physician as I am considered high risk as I have a heart tachcardia. He was a bit humourless but good nonetheless. Then I saw a midwife who was so lovely and thorough. And then I saw the ob who was great - I even got to hear the baby's heartbeat which was very, very cool! Being public I have access to everything and as they are a bit concerned about my iron levels and I am worried about my weight, I have been given access to a dietician. I would never be able to justify that in the budget normally!
But get this, not only am I 'advance maternal age', I am considered obese according to my BMI. The midwife was shocked as I carry my weight reasonably well and I am 175cm tall. Are there any dignities in pregnancies???
And thanks for the words of support on the age Feline11. I am so envious (in a good way) about all the young ones in the group - only cause they are younger and I wish I wasn't staring down the barrel of 40. Unfortunately I had to kiss a lot of frogs before I met my prince and then it took ages to get pregnant (stoopid endometriosis). Anyway, I got there and I am so thrilled to be sharing the ride with such a generous bunch of women! :smiliedance:

I was going to start eating well today, then I went to the bakery to get bread and ended up with cheese & chive scones which I had for morning tea. Then my friend popped around with huge, homemade, choc chip cookies (2nd morning tea). I've also had 2 coffees and half a cup of tea. Now its lunchtime & I'm not even hungry (yet!). Better get on my exercise bike this arvo.
My 'choc chip cookie' friend is due in Oct and just found out she is having her 2nd girl, she also has a boy in the middle. Bummer for me - she said I could have her girl clothes (beautiful, expensive stuff) if she had a boy and I had a girl.
13 days now till I find out. Can't wait to see bubba!
Rusty: I'd hate to hear what they say about me. I'm 171cm and put on over 10kg already.

Choc chip cookies sound so yummy right now... Think i have some choc chip tiny teddy's that I might just have to scoff down soon...
I've just had a blood test and hopefully will have the results back before 5pm so I can get my Anti-D shot... Pretty sure its not needed but want to have just to be on the safe side...
Still no offical results from yesterdays ultrasound, hoefully, they will come through soon....

Hi girls if you are interested in seeing some videos of a 4d ultrasound type in 4d ultrasound 26 weeks and you will get up www.kewego.com (http://www.kewego.com) that has all the videos of peoples scans.
The best time is between 26-32 weeks for face feet and profile shots you can get then done for gender only and they only look at gender they do not do face and hands and feet shots etc.
I have mine booked for 28th september I will be just over 26 weeks so a good time.
If done to early it can be disppointing and a waste of money as the baby doesn't start to put fat on till after 23 weeks so if you want a chubby face and nice looking pictures your better of waiting till 26 week onwards.
If you are solely after gender then that can be done anytime from 16 weeks onwards.
Here is a link to 26 week scan
http://www.kewego.com/video/iLyROoafteOv.html
and here is a link to 22 week scan big difference.

Have to go back for Drs clinic because of my hypertension even though I'm on pills to keep it "normal". I am just waiting to hear back from the Fetal Welfare Lab so I can book my morphology scan.
Will get onto that list soon too, for some reason my PC is playing up and I'm not really comfortable using Dad's but here I am... Just can't be long each time I'm on his PC as DD is inside, not in his "granny flat"...
I'll be back with more later.

hi all
it seems everyone has been very talkative today which is great to see..
i went for my appointment at the hospital today (although my time was suppose to be 10am i didnt get in till 1pm) with the dr all was going well untill she started listening for bubs heart beat and couldnt find it (i dont think i have been that scared in a long time)..
so she ended up getting the portable u/s machine and had a look around with that she found bub's heartbeat all strong and healthy, but then she turned around and told me the reason i have been bleeding is because i have placenta previa and has advised me to take it easy and that everytime i start to bleed even just a tiny bit that i have to go straight to hospital, she also gave me a dr certificate so centrelink might be kind enough to give a little extra income support in the comming mths as now i cant work at all. although im not holding my breath..
so that was my day i hope everyone is having a great day..
oh and they have changed my dates again im now a week earlier then we first thought, but hey im sure it will change again lol

I always miss so much. I suppose that's what I get when i'm being slack :o
Had my booking-in appointment has the hospital today, all went well considering it was just paper work and questions LoL
And I seem to have lost 1kg unless someones scales are out, but either way i'm not complaining I have quite a few to spare!
Have my hospital ante-natal appointment on the 20th so that's all good, and despite wanting a VBAC I might still be able to do midwife care which would be great!
DD has been really sick all week hence why I haven't really been here, and now DH is home sick with it aswell, and now i'm starting to feel sick as I sit here, but I hope it's not what the others have got
Anyways, I best be off, I hope everyone is doing well!

Hey widget have you looked at you ticker it says you are due on the 4th month????
Nah, it doesn't... read it again LOL... It says 17weeks passed 05/04/07!! Which means, even though my LMP was the 1st, with my long cycles that going on EDD my LMP should have been 05/04 so I put that date in my ticker and it says how far along I am!!
Widget - i may be ignorant but what is hypertension etc?? Hope all picks up...
Hypertension is a fancy word for High Blood Pressure...
i went for my appointment at the hospital today with the dr all was going well untill she started listening for bubs heart beat and couldnt find it (i dont think i have been that scared in a long time)...
The Dr I saw today said that at 17 weeks she wasn't expecting to find the heartbeat as they don't particularly like the doppler and they "run" away from it! We found it, but couldn't keep it long enough for her to count it... Wish I got an ultrasound!! LOL
Okay, my Morphology scan is booked for the 15th, so Wednesday week! I'm a tad scared actually, as they have to do such a thorough scan with this bub I really don't want anything to come up in it!! Have to go to a special place at Westmead for it though and that in itself is a little freaky!! I'm sure all will be fine though!
Anyways, for now, I am going to spend DD's last 45min awake playing and wearing us both out, then I'll jump on Dad's PC (on MIL's atm) and download my spreadsheet and work on this list! Can't do it on this one as MIL will need some sleep before she goes to work at 10:30pm...
Tootles for now!!

Evening All,
I spoke to my GP today, who rang with my official ultrasound results and everything is perfect... They couldn't find the source of the bleeding but are sure that its outside of the uterus, so bubs wont be affected by the crossing of bloods (i've got a negative blood type, which can mean trouble if the blood crosses)... I'm still waiting on blood test results from today, but I'm going to go and have the Anti-D shot anyway, just to ease my stressful mind... But it such a relief to know the scan results are great...
Widget, your scan is the day before mine... I'm sure that the scan will be fine... Just look forward to seeing your little one dancing up a storm...
Fly, I hope that everyone is feeling better soon... My DS has been sick since Sunday and its horrible.. Think he has actually passed it onto me, I have a horribly sore throat...
Nswmum, sorry to hear you've had some bad news... I've heard that it can move up, so :fingerscrossed: this happens for you, otherwise, you will just have to take it easy - feet up & lots of posts on BubHub :p
Candyn, glad you're doing better...

Have done the Notify List now. Keeping track of everything in a spreadsheet so I can't get lost and confused anymore!
Can I get you to check it again as I know some of the contacts have changed, my explanation is there and I blame my severe case of CRAFT as well! Scrolling up and down while I was doing it before just left me not sure if I'd marked people properly or more times than I was supposed to, but my system works now!! :D
PLEASE this is a call out for more due at the end of the month to step up!!

Just letting you guys know that my plans to relax today were upturned last night...
My Pop's life partner (never married, never lived together but always a couple after my Nan) died last Friday and the funeral is today.
SIL is taking DD for me and Mum and I are heading to the city for the funeral. Apparently Pop isn't taking it too well, so maybe a photo of his first great-grandchild will help a little... I can't take her with me as it's a burial after the service, not really the place for her.
So, I don't know when I'll be back today, Mum will be here between 8-9am to pick us up so we can drop DD off and head in...
Okay ladies, I must pack her bag and get myself ready, then I can get her ready and play for a little bit. Maybe NaNa can watch her for a little bit when she gets home at 7am so I can have a shower...
Rambling...

I'm starting my healthy diet today. I'm not trying to lose weight. I am trying to not gain any more excess weight - baby only.
I tipped the scales at 80kg this morning. This means that I have already put on about 15kg. I was 85kg at the end of my first pg and took 6 months to lose it all. I really, really don't want to go over 85kg this time.
So, I've had my healthy brekky and I've cycled 9km in 30min on my exercise bike, also a bit of floor work on my legs (thats where I always put weight on first). Now I've just got to eat well for the rest of the day.
Sorry for the whinge - I'm just getting really frustrated.

Candy I know where your coming from. Knowing this is my last baby, I would really love a girl so I can experience both sides of the parenting ride but was telling myself I didnt really care because we're lucky to have them at all with our problems. Then after my last u/s and the possible girly bits I realised I cared a bit more than I wanted to admit. Now Im at a point where I really truly dont care, if its another boy I will be equally as happy and Ive psyched myself up that its a boy so I dont feel too disappointed. Hang in there ok, you still have a 50/50 chance and in the end we really wont care as long as their healthy!
CM - glad everything is ok!
Widge - Sorry to hear your news.
Chelle - I have the opposite problem. I gained 11kg with my last pregnancy but this time round Im losing a kg a month even though Im not very good with my eating habits, I have a hankering for all things sweet. Im in trouble with my OBGYN, he wants me to hit 72kgs by term. Dont know how thats going to happen though but Im more than happy to take some of your preg weight off your hands :) ;)
Lis, if its cool with you could I use you as my contact buddy??? Widge still hasnt paired me up with anyone and we're due at different ends of the month to each other so no conflict.
Ugh I feel like ****, my m/s seems to have come back and I have a wicked headache. My braxton hicks have come full force and are so painful :( worse than last time. Theyd better be doing the same fabulous job of preparing my uterus so I have another short and sweet labour or I'll be fit to be tied come January

Widget, sorry to hear your bad news... Its always horrible when someone passes... Thinking of you and your Pop...
Chelle, all the best with the healthy eating... I try to be healthy but it never lasts for long... Thankfully, I don't have a weight problem, although I am slightly heavier than when I was pregnant with DS...
AnnaT, hope you're feeling better soon...
Well for me, I've had some more bleeding this morning, but don't think its anything to worry about...
WARNING: Below may be TMI for some...
It seems to happen after I've been to the toilet for #2's... This morning, I had a look with the mirror as I was wiping and I think it maybe thrush related... Seems to have thicker discharge just on the inside.. Also think I might be straining a bit and causing a little tear inside, and thats causing the bleeding... I will be getting the OB to check at my next appointment (sooner if the bleeds happen other than after #2's)
WARNING OVER..:p
Hope everyone is feeling well and having a good day... Better go and get DS some lunch so he can have a sleep... Be back later to check in.

Widge - Sorry to hear of the news. I hope everything goes smoothly today and that it is a beautiful funeral (IYKWIM)
Anna - Yep, no worries! I'm happy to be your contact buddy, I love passing on good news, always so exciting :D
Chelle - I'd kill to be back at 80kgs, I was 70kgs before I fell PG with DD and now i'm 90kg
I was 85kg before I fell PG this time, so all my gorging on junk is catching up with me LoL time we stopped talking about getting a treadmill and actually get one I think!
Crazy - Definitely get everything checked out, hopefully it's nothing too nasty and is easily treated! As for the 'straining' thing, try taking a small amount of Benefibre (soooo much better than Metamucil!) just a teaspoon in a glass of water, should help enough so that you're not straining, but not making everything too much the other way, it's what i've been doing and works a treat!

Don't you both understand that I deliberately didn't pair any of us 3 up together??
Was trying to make it a new person/friend for us, and someone we really don't know too much about (yet)...
But I was SO tempted to put us together so I could get your numbers and keep in more contact!!

Oh, the funeral was okay too. Catholic Mass Funeral that took ages and it was kind of weird as they didn't talk about her nearly as much as they talked about the church...
We didn't end up going to the burial, but we went to the wake, which was in a pub which was also weird sort of, as every other wake I've been to was at someones house... No photos of her anywhere...
Pop seemed to handle himself really well which was good, but he flies back to QLD tomorrow so he won't get to meet his first great-grand child yet...

My goodness girls!! I have a busy week at work and come back on here and there are a zillion posts to read through.
Glad you're back Widget!
I have an insane week apart with work reaching nightmarish proportions, my 'surrogate mother' (friend's mother) going into hospital, a shocker cold and a hundred other things so have fallen into bed exhuasted every night this week. My Ob appointment on Thursday was cancelled just before I left as he had to rush off for an emergency C section so rescheduled for next Thursday. Only one month until I find out if I am having a boy or a girl - not that I am counting.
That's about it from me. Glad everyone is trotting along well.

hey ladies!
ive been away for a while, just feeling really really tired and sleeping all the time...i thought that was meant to have past now that i am 16 weeks!
i even had tuesday off work cause i was so exhausted...but i have spent the whole weekend watching ER so am feeling more rested now!
i have my next OB appointment on thursday, and am interested to see what happens when i jump on the scales...from my 8 week to 12 week appointment i had lost 500grams, but i have a feeling that this time i will have put on a few kilos! doesnt help that i made DH go out and buy me spring rolls and ice cream last night!
quick question that i am sure will be answered by my OB anyway, but is it normal to get cramping feelings across your stomach after going to the bathroom??? they always go away after about 30 seconds???
some of your bellies look awesome, and i am so jealous! i still just look fat...i need a tshirt saying "im not fat im pregnant"...talk soon!

cantwait it's normal, you will get quite a few twinges, and some that will stop you in your tracks.
Just make sure that when you get up from sitting that you do so slower than normal, if you get the pains, do it slower next time.
When getting out of bed, or up from a laying position, you should roll onto your side and push yourself up sideways, not overly sure why but I was told to with DD and am already doing it this time, I tend to have more pains throughout the day if I don't get up the right way.
I'm sure they will tell you the same and if you ask they'll tell you why.
I've been sleeping basically from 11pm last night, got up at 7:30am to DD, then went back to bed at 11am and got up again at 3:30pm I am going to be SO tired at work tomorrow!
Ooohh, DD awake and not overly happy, better get her up!

Hi Sairpaul,
I hadn't felt movement for a few days when my DS1 was in hospital a couple of weeks ago(probably just stressed) so I called my Ob and he got me to come in straight away. He did a doppler and everything was fine. If you're worried, give your Ob a call but I'm sure all will be fine.

Thanks guys believe it or not i think i just felt some light movement sitting on my right side. So maybe its coz of stress due to selling our business etc. Thank you heaps though.

Cantwait - hell yeah, tho sometimes feel like the way this year is flying by it will be there in a flash and we will all be mums on here panicking to each other lol
I just want to get that pregnant belly you all have - mine is still below my waist so just looks like a fat hard belly and want to feel those kicks
Finding sleeping more difficult, think i need one of those long pillows to support my back so i can lie on my side - usually lie on my belly and it is too uncomfortable for that now - anyone have any ideas for me?
Least my heartburn has lessened heaps - my doc suggested to cut out all caffeine and it seems to have done the trick.
Only 2 weeks to go till i see my bub again:smiliedance:
