Aldi Nappies

I have a question to put to you all and i hope some of you can help someone my DP works with has said that the aldi brand of nappies are great and alot cheaper than the huggies one can anyone confirm that and tell me their experience with this brand.

I usually only use huggies, the only other brand i have tried is babylove and they gave DD a red rash.

There's alot of Mammia fans on bubhub!!!
I love them, out of all the disposables I've tried tehy are the best value for money. My DS is a very heavy wetter and they hold up the same as huggies do.

We occassionally use sposies for Claire -especially when she has a nappy rash (I don't want the creams buggering up my lovely MCN! :laughing:)

I've found the ALDI nappies to be almost as good as huggies :)

They last overnight (12 hours) on both my DD's.
Definitely recommend them as a brilliant disposable.

ETA I wouldnt recommend them for a little tiny newborn as they are quite wide in the crutch.
I think DD2 was about 6 to 8 weeks old when I started using the small size on her.
Compared to Huggies they are a LARGE make

Yep,these are the best nappies I've ever used. My DD is in largest size and I get 44 nappies for $17.:thumbsup:
Make sure you get the "Mamia" brand though! They stock another brand which is ****.

:laughing: My parents live there too, so I usually visit them and do a big ALDI shop as well. I go probably at least once every 2 or 3 weeks. Don't tell mum and dad, but I probably wouldn't be there as often if I didn't need ALDI stuff :laughing:

OMG :eek: I am SO jealous!! Apparently ALDI won't open stores more than 4 hours from their warehouses. We are half an hour outside the cut-off for Melbourne and 2 hours outside the cut-off for Sydney :mad:

all i can say is they are GREAT.

i hate it when i need nappies and aldi is shut, what ever brand i buy i am not happy with...and dont even get me started on huggies...

You can't do anything wrong with Aldi Nappies! They're great. :thumbsup:

They last the whole night for my younger one. From 7 - 7, no leakage nothing.

And yes, they're so much cheaper than Huggies.

For DS 2, he's in the "first Steps" Size, we pay for 50 Nappys 15 or 16 Dollars.

Edit: I'd say, depending on the weight of your little bub, you could try the smaller size. I had them for about 3 or 4 mths and then I changed to the bigger size.

You could also buy a bigger Sized package and if they're too big, you know, you need the smaller ones, so you're on the safe side, you still can use the bigger one, once your little girl is bigger..

I have used all different brands of nappies & I find that Aldi nappies are the best by far. I have never had a leak using them. I am using DriBots-Target brand at the moment, I thought that I would give them a go as they are on special for $9.99 for 44 nappies- They are still quite good & work out cheaper than Aldi nappies when they are on special (I would use them again), but personally I prefer the Aldi nappies. Everyone should give them a go, I can't say a bad work about them.

Im a cloth person and we only use aldi disposies when we go out or for overnight use. They are heaps bigger than the huggies ones! and they are really high so DD1 doesnt leak up past her belly any more. Hooray no more leaks!! They are super absorbant. Luv them + theyre only $16 a pack

Everyone is saying that the aldi nappies are so much cheaper than the huggies.. so i went in aldi to buy some and stood there thinking for a while.. and figured out that the aldi nappies are only 2 cents cheaper per nappy than the huggies

IS THAT RIGHT?

I get a box of 90 huggies nappies for $30 - equalling 33 cents per nappy

Aldi has a pack of 52 nappies for $16 - equalling 31 cents per nappy
So there isn't much of a difference.
Please correct me if i'm wrong.

I think they are cheaper than huggies because I had nothing but problems with huggies - they leaked, they left absorbant crystals on DS's bum etc etc. I never actually worked out how much per nappy.

I find the huggies to be a small make and i have a big daughter so the aldi's are a fantastic fit for her and they hold up just as good if not better than the huggies brand. My dd wears an aldi's nappy all night and its never soaked thru by the morning,she's always dry. She is prone to bad nappy rash also and the aldi's dont cause that at all.

I brought 2 boxes of huggies nappies when I was trying to save as they were on special then went and did my Aldi shopping and though Oh I might just try them and i was SO pleasantly suprised!!! its not funny I only use Huggies at night if i can be bothered now!!!! Mummia ones work really well with DD and snugglers didnt huggies are too expensive but I still have 1 and a half boxes to get theough....

Mummia are $15 for 50 whereas huggies are anywhere from $30.00 - $40.00 depending on where u buy them for 72 or whatever size you need... dunno how to work it out but its sounds cheaper and depending on what situation your in every cent DOES count sometimes....

I guess it it's because, normally, the Huggies Nappies are more expensive, unless they are on offer. If I'm right, you pay around $ 40 per Box.

And the Aldi Nappies are always the same low price.

But I also prefer the Aldi ones, cause they're not as tight as the Huggies are and they don't leak or that crystal thing, which absorbes the wees, doesn't leak out either, plus, DS 2 doesn't get a rash from them, like he get from the Huggies..

I guess that you are right with your calculations Anna. Although there is only a few cents difference, in the long run they do work out cheaper.

IE-

$30 = 90 huggies (1 box)
$32 = 104 Aldi (2 packs)

OR

$60 = 180 huggies (2 boxes)
$64 = 208 Aldi (4 packs)

Therefore you do get more value for money with Aldi nappies. The more packs you buy the more money you save, so in the long run they are cheaper, plus better than huggies. They work out way cheaper than the smaller packs of huggies, ie you get 32 infant huggies for $15.95 ($12.95 on special) but can get 52 Aldi nappies for $16 all the time.

Also with the Aldi nappies you get 52 per pack, no matter what size of nappies. With huggies as the size goes up you get less per pack & pay the same price for 24 crawler as you would 32 infant for example.

Definitely more valuefor money with aldis especially as huggies arent always on sale that cheap.. so to compare fairly.. fullprice huggies is $42 a box, not $30.. almost every other brand nappy goes on sale and would come close to aldi's price too.

I think aldis nappies are HEAPS better than huggies though, ive never been able to fault one yet i could fault huggies a hundred times in my nappying lifetime lol

Are they good for VERY sensitive skin? Bren has very sensitve skin, and Huggies is the only one that hasn't gave him a rash and sores, Baby LOVE are THE WORST nappies... they made my lil boys bum bright red and they LEAK everytime!!
What size would I get if they are big? Bren is 7weeks and over 12lb 38cm long.

My son is just under 13 pounds (around 6kg) & I have just finished off a pack of the up to 6kg Aldi nappies, so I guess they might fit your son too. I think that the pack after that is from 5kg to 9kg (something like that, anyway), they maybe a tad too big for your bub at the moment though. As for them being good for sensitive skin...I'm not sure, as my DS doesn't have that problem.

The Aldi Nappied are perfume free, so they're supposed to be good for sensitive skin.

But it's always hard to say. I had trouble with the huggies, they gave my older one rashes, so i converted to Aldi and he didn't have a problem anymore.
With my younger one, I'm using the Aldis from the beginning.

He's now about 7 kg (around 15 Pounds) and I'm using the "first steps one" they're form 7 to 16 kg and they fit him fine. Even before he was 7 kg I had them and just put them on a bit tighter.

Do you know any Aldi using mother near by where you live? So she could give you a sample and you could see how your little one is going with them..

I have been an avid Aldi user for a few weeks now. DS is a heavy wetter and these do the trick. And the $$ is great :thumbsup:

BUT over the last few days I have noticed that he has an irritation across his back where the elastic sits.
He's in the correct size so it's not because of an incorrect fit, and I do the nappies up quite snug, but it seems the elastic across the back is quite harsh and rough and is now rubbing somewhat and is leaving red marks and little scratches and dry-ish skin.

I was using Snugglers before I changed to Aldi, Snugglers have no elastic across the back so this has never happened before.
We don't use Huggies either as they don't fit DS properly around the legs.

Has anyone else had probs like this ?

I'm about to take my unopened pack for a refund and go back to Snugglers. I mean Aldi nappies are great otherwise but this seems a little unusual.

bambino- Ive noticed my DD too has been itchy in the back were the elastic is, but all her skin is dry with this cold windy weather so ive bought sorbelene cream for her and its helpiong her dry skin and it is getting bettter.
