I am so paranoid about going into labour early with this bubs (get my steroids next week so that will put me at more of a ease i guess to) anyhow just wondered if any others are having what i am feeling and if its normal

The last few days i have felt really heavy down there, lots of pushing and a little extra discharge as well (TMI sorry) its like i am ovulating i guess thats the only way to describe it. I have had pain but not bad just waves of it, like stretching etc, dull peroid ache and i feel like absolute death, so tired, so worn out and so sick like i am poisoned if that makes sense. I find if i have something salty i feel good again and it picks me up but all i want to do is lay and sleep :( my nerves are shot to sh!t when i feel like this too so think its a little anxiety in there as well

Do you think i have like a bug or something and its just one of those things where i am meant to feel a little off all week? have slight sniffles but no cold like if that makes sense just a light cold.

I have an obs appointment on Friday have rang and they said all should be ok i might just be run down, which i guess makes sense just want a little reassurance. The whole pushing bearing down thing is getting to me though :(

How's your iron? I felt awful with #3 and found out my iron levels were really low. Once I started getting some supplements I felt a lot better. Ultimately 'though, I didn't really feel better until my DD was born!

But you know all about how hard it is when you have other children already! Do you have enough support? I found it impossible to get enough rest last time and still haven't caught up. Take care!

Best wishes.

My iron is always bad its about the 65 mark i think but i am taking supplements, i also have Cholestasis and figure that the whole need for salt might have something to do with that will find out friday i guess

Dont have any help :( mums 3 hours away and as we just moved here i dont know anyone i am just finding that i am dozing all the time the minute the kids do, they will do more bloods at my next app to check my liver so will get them to maybe hit me with some iron or something, maybe thats what i need

Any ideas how i can up my iron food wise or something natural that tends to store it better? I hate those iron injections so popping pills and would rather try something other than the jabs :D

I feel the need for salt its crazy its like i get a second wind and feel better for a little while after eating it

Yeah I craved ice badly, a sure sign of low iron.

Try a search on google, lots of good info there!

Eat lots of meat, fish, and seafood (the allowable ones!). Vegetable sources include pine nuts, sunflower and pumpkin seeds, parsley, wheat germ, yeast and apricots, although iron from animal foods is absorbed better.

Make sure you take it with vitamin C (in citrus fruit, capsicum, raw cabbage, pineapple, potatoes, parsley, rosehips, broccoli, strawberries, black currant and guava).

A simple way to improve iron absorption is to drink a glass of orange or blackcurrant juice with meals.

Are you actually taking a supplement? Is it a high dose, slow release iron supplement? Is it chelated iron?

I was told anything green and red (vegies and fruit) is what you need to eat lots of! One has the vitamins iron and the other helps to absorb it. No point taking the goodie iron filled ones if your body doesn't have the minerals to absorb it properly into your body!

Have a look at this (http://www.vegsoc.org/info/iron.html) page for info on how to get enough iron on a vegetarian diet :)

I think I got a lot of my iron in my last pregnancy by grazing on fresh parsley out in the garden. It was about this time of year too and it tasted really good and was so fresh and crunchy when you eat it straight away. I had a terrible ice craving too - even during a Melbourne winter!

Good luck!
