My bubba is growing up!

My DD is 17mths and has always slept with me, and had to be rocked and patted to sleep.
Recently I went out and bought heaps of stuff and decided to make a room up for her. So I set it all up, made it very pretty and put a single bed in there. On the first night I put her in there and was patting her back and she pushed my hand away, so I just left her and she went to sleep, now she just goes in there and hops into bed and is asleep without any help from me. Im just so amazed I can't believe how much she likes her room, and i wasn't even trying to put her in her own room and she just made the decision on her own.
I am a bit sad that she doesn't want to sleep with her mummy anymore though.
Has anybody else had something like this happen?

YES!!! I used to pat Bianca to sleep, now all of a sudden, she WON'T go to sleep in my arms - not even at night after her bedtime feed! :eek: She will just lie there babbling to me until I pop her in her cot, then within minutes, she's asleep! Not fair! I really do miss my cuddles! It's the only time she stayed still enough to get heaps of kisses in!! :laughing:

We sortof had a similar thing happen. We co-slept till MJ was 19months & none of us were sleeping so put her in a cot in her own room. Since she has had a room of her own, she refuses to sleep in our bed anymore :( I miss my cuddles. I have tried bringing her in if she's unsettled, but she will sit & play till I put her back in her bed, then she goes to sleep.

:yes: Far too quickly if you ask me...

B will only play as well now when I bring her in, it was the same kind of thing, she'd wake then start pulling my hair, etc. I guess she is just a lil miss independent! Who am I to try to change that?
