Another HPT question....

Hi all, just a bit confused as usual and I thought I'd put this out into the bubhub world and see if anyone has any suggestions. My cycle lately has been getting shorter and shorter, currently 18 or 19 days, so I'm a bit of a moody cow!! Two days ago (day 18) I had a small amount of bright blood (sorry TMI) then nothing until today, just a smear of brown blood. I have a little cramping but not as much as usual.

:idea: SO, my question is, IF the bleeding is actually implantation, how long before this shows up on a HPT? Hehe, I may be clutching at straws but I can't help it. Anyone got any ideas???

Hi Hailse. I think the earliest you could test is about 10 dpo, but depends on how sensitive the test is. If you use one that says you can test before AF is due, then they are usually more sensitive. dont' know about the short cycles though. Do you know if you are ovulating?

To be honest, I don't know if I am ovulating, but I read somewhere that shorter cycles mean that you are fertile for longer periods. Which sounds promising for me, except that they're getting so short the hormones required to sustain a pregnancy don't get a chance to accumulate. I've been getting EWCM just as AF is finishing, and my cycles have been all over the place. I have an appointment to see a gyno but its not for a month. We've been trying for ages now and I'm getting very impatient!!

Anyway, I guess the hormone needed to get a BFP on a HPT will start increasing after implantation, just wasn't sure how long. I'm getting more cramps now but there's not much I can do but wait and see.....:sleeping:

i could be wrong, but I think you are only fertile for a set amount of time regardless.

I read somewhere that implantation happens 7-10 days after ovulation. and that a few days after implantation u can test.

Im in the same boat, not sure exactly when I ovulated and my temp is all over ther place. It drops as soon as I wake. I had cramping last night so bad I had to take panadol. Its 7 days after day 14 but I didn think I ovulated till day 17. So Im not sure If I actually ovulated on day 14 and have had implantation pain or not.

Its so confusing.

Ill let u know any new info If I find any.
