I am 29 weeks pregnant and today i bought my self an awesome present for making it this far.

It is one of those at home listen to your babies heart beat and movement machines from Kmart. It cost $39.95

I saw it and thought ..... that cant work ..... got it home and tried it with the earphones provided and only heard tiny noises on full strength. I thought, this is stupid i am returning it tomorrow. I then tried our hi tech big mofo head phones that DP uses to game on, and OH MY GOD ..... STRONG AS EVER ON HALF STRENGTH ( if fact i am listening to little Lucas right now he he he )

He is bumping around and his heart beat is 146 beats per minute ( I hope you calculate that by counting them for a minute! ) It lets of a sharp thump sound when he kicks and you can even hear him hiccup ..........

I recommend it to any mum to be that hates having to wait inbetween appointments to here their bubs.

Can you hear the heartbeat i have one too but im only 16 weeks and cant hear nothing?

ahh wish I had seen this like 15 weeks ago lol ah well I only wanted one for my DB as he hadn't heard it, but a quick visit to the hospital and he got too hear it :D

oh I have never heard of these, I will have to check this out! I would love to hear my bubba's heartbeat.

How far along do you have to be to hear it?

They say in your 2nd trimester 21 - 28 weeks. It took me about 1/2 hour to find a great spot and then lay still for ages listening to the heart beat.

16 weeks is probably a bit early but you might be able to hear your baby kick or have the hiccups if you have it in the right spot. I guess my advice is to be patient and keep trying! It could also be the ear phones! It is an amazing feeling and well worth $40.

I do recommend you have a GOOD set of ear phones to maximise the sounds as the ones from the box are not adequate. ( i dont think )

I just you could try it out and if you have no joy, take it back and get a refund. All i know is that it is one of the best things i have bought in 29 weeks!!!!!!!
