unhealthily (the only way to eat them haha) i put about 1cm of oil in a pan and cook them that way really slowly otherwise i have cooked them in the oven and grilled them at the end to crisp them up. Personally i prefer the pan method :D
i just do them in the oven:yes:
I put them on a cake rack and then put the cake rack into a baking dish and bake them....

I cook them either in a pan on the stove or the electric frypan. I don't put in alot of oil, but I do cook them with the lid on for a while to make sure they are cooked thru :)
Can anyone tell me how to stop the garlic butter coming out? Doesn't matter if I'm cooking homemade or frozen or fresh from the chicken shop kievs the butter always runs out and we are left with almost none inside :( Doesn't matter how I cook them either.

I think the way the pubs keep it in is deep frying them.

Of course :) They deep fry almost everything at the pub...makes you want to drink more lol
Oh well, kievs still taste good with the garlic butter poured over the top :)

Shallow fry them so they're golden and then into a roasting dish and into the oven to make sure the chicken is cooked, that way if any garlic butter comes out you can still pour it over them when serving!
If you're going to eat them you may as well eat them properly!

I bake my chicken kievs in the oven - wrapped in baking paper on a bed of thinly sliced carrots for about 30min... this keeps the garlic butter in to cook the carrots, and then I pour the butter over the chicken and serve with mashed potato... yum, I know what's for tea tomorrow night!!

Pre-heat your oven to about 180.
We have an electric non-stick frypan so I turn it up pretty high (we don't have temperatures just numbers) and then keep turning them until they are golden all over (or as close as you can get to all over).
Then pop them in the roasting dish and put them in the oven for about 20 minutes, that'll make sure that the chicken is cooked right through. If they're not frozen when you fried them this should be enough.

With the kievs I get from the butcher, lightly brush them all over with olive oil, then cook in the oven on about 180 for 1/2 hr. I turn them half way through cooking.
When cooked, they will be nicely browned and crispy on the outside and nice and juicy on the inside!! Yum! :chef: Good luck! Hope they taste great!
I always cook them in the pan to broen on both sides and then put them in the oven for a bit too.. I love chicken kievs!
